It all depends on their worth IMO. A man that is worth 20 million dollars that gives me a $2 bouquet of daisies from a guy selling flowers on the side of the road, I will not see that as special and generous. That is the equivalent of him throwing a nickel at me and saying "There you go"
But a man barely making it on $25,000 a year that buys me a $100 bouquet, would humble me. Because he knows how much I love flowers and he sacrificed a hefty amount of money to make me happy.

Spending money is a way of showing appreciation but it doesn’t always have to be about money. It’s more so being thoughtful. Now if the quality of the gift is bad it also shows how much they care about you . But the root of it all is being thoughtful and knowing your partner.

All I’m sayin is that Barbershop talk and basketball court talk, back of the church talk, gym locker room talks are real conversations… that’s all imma say.
Culture and capacity plays a huge part in the gift exchange- I had a partner who grew up not receiving many gifts and was happy just to receive a card so whenever I gave him anything more than that, to him it felt over-the-top and extra

My husband has never once given me flowers, we've been together over 20 years. I don't like flowers, I didn't have any flowers but my bouquet at my wedding. He will get me gifts for special occasions if we have the money and I enjoy them but if he takes me on a hike or a picnic in the park or writes me a love note, I am over the moon with love. Perhaps if money wasn't always on such a tight budget I'd feel differently but gift giving has never been a big part of our relationship or even expected.
