I came home on a Monday after a cancer scare appointment, my husband got down and one knee and proposed because he realized if he waited for the perfect moment, maybe that moment would never come. We have to live life because we never know what will happen next. I am 12 years cancer free now!

I have my most narcissistic in-laws, literally, every single one of them. I refuse to have my children gaslit, verbally, emotionally or possibly, physically abused just to “honor your parents”. I’m Christian and I believe in forgiveness, but I also believe in loving someone from a distance. I will never talk bad about them in front of my children, because I want them to form their own opinion(s) of them, but to say it’s a disservice to the grandchildren is false; it’s protection.

Listening to A's disappointment with Lenny for his lack of effort makes me sad when I remember how happy she was when he proposed and tried to make meaning out it and said he gave her carrots for the "harvest of their love", it sad that now she knows the truth. That there was no deeper meaning, just like this chalkboard story. Glad she's got a man now that treats her like a queen, like how all us ladies deserve!
Adrienne speaks from a place of growing up in a loving home where of course her mom would be in her children's life, My mom is toxic beyond belief so not only I am not around her often and as well as my children, Honoring your mother and Father is biblically but also Father (Parents) don't provoke your children to wrath🙏
Adrienne just stop sweetie, if it was as elaborate as you’re imagining it she would’ve been fine. But it wasn’t therefore, he can try again or keep it pushing
That was a sweet story from Jeanie. I pray best wishes on your new engagement. Jeanie is the real thing so anyone who wants to be with her better come correct.

I think Adrienne has the wrong idea of “honoring your parents”. To me, it means to give them respect whether they deserve it or not, but it does not equate to spending time with them.
It’s so annoying to me how Adrienne never recognizes the other side of the reality. Everybody does not have good parents. I love her though and I’m sure she’s grown from this.
Yllom Sik As There's probably a reason why some of these people are keeping their kids away from their grandparents. As someone with a horrible dysfunctional family I honestly wished I never knew my grandparents. You don't have to put up with people just because your family
Yllom Sik How does she know it’s not worth it for the child? You aren’t automatically a positive or valuable presence in a child’s life JUST because you share blood with them or have a certain title. Some people do more damage than they’re worth. Love, respect, honor, etc. is earned and sometimes people don’t live up to that. There are circumstances where the grandparents having any influence over or a relationship with the child is not in the best interest of the child or the family. And also, if your son/daughter is keeping you out of your grandchildren’s lives, there is a VERY strong possibility that they gave you multiple chances to be better before. Most people don’t disown their parents so easily.
Well Adrienne, the blackboard doesn’t mean anything to this woman, what your point?. If I was awoman and my partner propose to me like that, he will be getting more than a no🙄🙄🙄🙄

I don’t think every grandparent has a right to see a child. And I’m saying that as someone who is blessed with incredible parents. It’s probably the reason why I’m saying it, because I’m well aware that there are truly terrible parents out there. I’m not even talking about the physically abusive, endangering kind. I’m talking about people who will emotionally damage and manipulate a child. For example, I’ve heard about cases where grandparents will be VERY homophobic but have gay children, and then they will talk negatively about this to their grandchildren. They’ll tell them being gay is a sin, that they’re parents are going to hell etc. They will literally try to manipulate a 5 year old and turn them against their parent by filling their head with crazy thoughts,
Oh Lenny, you truely didn’t deserve adrienne. Do you guys remember when she told the story with the carrots? Guess Lenny knew whatever he was doing adrienne would no matter what love it. Good for you adrienne you left him!

Adrienne expects too little. A man does that to me and I’m walking by. Later when he looks at me funny or looks for the ring I’ll be there like, “I didn’t see anything.”
2nd story- For the proposal story, I would have wrote on that white board under his “will you marry me”,....“try again”. Lol b/c that was a “no,no” for me. I don’t know their situation, but I feel like he probably didn’t put effort b/c they’re already playing “house”; having two kids and living together. But that should make you put more effort into marrying your children’s mother. Even if it was a money situation, like Adrienne said, you can do so much with what he had. I also agree with Jeanie about proposal stories being something that you tell for years to come. It doesn’t have to be this outlandish, glamorous proposal but make it intimate and special. & getting on one knee & asking. But I don’t think she was ungrateful, everyone knows this is a MAJOR thing in a persons life. Not just a woman’s but a man’s and they should honor that more. & ladies you don’t have to say yes just because he asked!
my mom was very very abusive when I was a kid, just with me, not with my sisters. so I feel my kids will not be safe with my biological mom. therefore, my kids will NEVER ever ever ever EVER meet my kids, EVER!
nelli rosas my mom had the very same situation! and later on she told me why I never went over to my grandmas and I understand why she did that and I’m not hurt by it at all.
You have to do whats comfortable for you. My grandfather was physically abusive to my mom, grandma and my aunts and uncles. But my mom was very codependent on her parents. So I was also practically raised by my grandparents. My grandpa was really great and I loved him a lot but my other cousins didn't every spend time with him because my aunts and uncles didn't let thier kids spend time with him. I am glad that I got to know him and be raised by him to a certain extent but it is hard to reconcile those images. No matter what kids figure out when something bad happened, so it should always be about your comfort
I don’t really agree with Adrienne when she said “you should be happy that you have a grandfather that’s alive.” Just because someone in your family is alive doesn’t mean that you SHOULD spend time with them. It all depends on the situation and after watching the video with Jeannie and Mama Mai where she opened up about the abuse and trauma that Mama Mai experienced with her father, I think it’s pretty messed up that Jeannie’s siblings decided to surprise Mama Mai like that with him just showing up. They lucked out with the whole situation and surprise turning out okay because it could’ve gone HORRIBLY WRONG and I wouldn’t have blamed Mama Mai one bit if it had.
Judge Lynn Toler from Divorce Court said her husband slam her ring down on a table during an argument and said "and I got this for you" and they got married on her lunch break at City Hall and they've been married for over 30 years now.🤷♂️🤷♂️
I believe asking a woman what kind of proposal she would want is ideal for casual conversation, and he should be fully aware of what kind of lady she is..(simple or extravagant) (private or public).
Adrienne is shading her ex with this proposal comparison as her ex lennie proposed to her in a restaurant she spoke about the proposal when it happened on the show ☕️🐸
Honoring your parents means to show respect. If the grandparents are being disrespectful and hateful towards their grandchildren’s parents than yes they need to be cut out because it not only causes relationship problems between the parents, but it causes issues between the parents and their own child. It’s a matter of respect. I had family members who in law is racist and disrespectful so much so the kids rejected part of their own race and started repeating what their grandma was saying to their mother and were being mean and disrespectful to the long my family member was always in tears, so her husband had to cut her out; he only has her come over for some holidays for a short period of time, but only when he’s there. Bible is also clear that we are to respect our kids as well, warning parents to not anger their children. Toxicity is never acceptable no matter who they are. Grand parents can only sue if they were helping raise their grandkids : childcare, food, actually living with them.
It is completely okay to keep your kids safe from abusive grandparents. The thing is, saying that you need to honor your PARENTS is a good statement, but if your parents didn't PARENT you (abuse, neglect, etc.), then they don't deserve to be respected as parents, since they don't deserve the title, as they didn't do any decent parenting..
I think that estrangement can be a good thing because even though family is supposed to be everything...family can also hurt you the most. You can't honor someone who is disrespectful to you and hurts you constantly. You can't ask someone who is narcissistic to honor boundaries and talk with you as an adult because they want to be in control.
Sarah Dunn a woman/girl who goes out of her way to impress and be liked by men and to not seem ‘like other girls’ usually by defending unacceptable or sexist behaviour from men
I think there’s a lot of circumstances where the parents might need to protect their child by limiting time with their grandparents. My mom for instance has a serious mental health condition that she’s refused to seek treatment for. I’m extremely concerned for my kids to spend significant time around her. It’s not that they won’t be physical safe but I’m worried about their mental health being affected by her comments or actions. I don’t even have kids yet but it’s something I always worry about. It’s so sad to think they won’t have a strong relationship with her but I know there’s a 0% chance that my mom will have sought treatment before my husband and I start a family.
I’m 23 and yesterday my mom and dad told me they didn’t want me around due to the person I chose to share my life with. I broke down In tears thinking about all the things i will miss out on and they will miss out. I’m scared that 39 years will be lost. I needed to watch this
Adrienne spoke on honoring parents. And Jeannie agreed." yeah, yeah." In reality, I pray Jeannie re-learn the concepts of honor and stay REAL with her mom.
If she marries him then get used to this for the rest of her marriage to him. Not putting in much effort in anything like birthdays, anniversaries, Valentines. He should of know her interest or what she would of liked by now
I haven't seen my grandad in 7 years because of certain issues between him and my father. But when i finally did, he thought i was my mother, and said you look like your daughter. IKR
Omg whenthey started talking bout grudges between mother and grandmother i started crying bc i havent seen my grandmother in yrs maybe since i was 10 and im 14 now I was so not expecting them to talk bout that
My sister. She holds such a grudge towards my dad cause he “wasn’t there”. She has 5 kids and they barely know who their grandpa is. But only comes around when she needs help or money. I’m currently 8 months pregnant and I’m just glad he’ll have a grandson he’ll always see 💙
So you are that sister huh😒...say hi to your sister and please tell her that she has every right to act the way she does...and tell her a stranger got her back coz her own sister is really shady with the statement she just made
@@ml.kimoni sorry but i really disagree. If the sis wants to keep distance from the father, then obviously she has every right to do so. But if she as a grown as woman has no problem with asking him for money on a regular basis in order to provide for her 5 kids, it makes no sense why he shouldn't be able to ses them from time to time
It's important to know the dynamics of their relationship BEFORE opining on the proposal/rejection. How they treat each other, their growth, commitment, how they cope with issues, etc......
I say sometimes about the grandparents thing because sometimes our parents might be being dramatic with their issues with their parents but sometimes there’s a reason they don’t talk to their parents because they might be toxic or unresolved issues
I am listening to this proposal story again and I still have the same sigh reaction. It appears this lady watched and listened to so many engagement stories, she felt hers was inadequate. I wish I knew the back story with both his and her side. P.S There is no law that says, man has to get on his knees to propose to a woman. Its a tradition not compulsory.
unless my parents change the aint meeting my kids, cant honor paent that hurts the parents. but they dont get it on the show... not every parent is good peoples
if a guy purposes to me in public in front of a crowd of people and i'm not ready i'll say yes in front of the crowd but later on in the night i'll tell him my true feelings and rather he excepts them or not will determine if i want to keep working to get to that stage!
I love my grandma, but she is always asking if I'm gonna eat. I do eat, I just have a high metabolism, that's why I'm skinny. And I love my uncle Paul, but everytime I see him, he asks me if I'm dating or married yet. Maybe I don't wanna be in a relationship
1st story- it depends on how toxic the grandparents are and if they’ll change. Because people change throughout life & what they were to you, they may not be to your child. I also think what Tamera said about creating boundaries and getting out of your feelings about it can help. Different strokes for different folks but you can atleast try b/c that relationship between grandparent and grandchild is important. I also agree with Adrienne about “honoring mother and father” & I understand parents sometimes don’t deserve that respect, but you don’t have to let that bad energy ruin your life. At the end of the day, you’ll be blessed
4:30 - 4:50 Nope. Never works for me. Family is low consciousness; they can be abusive, wrong and be and do all the things you don't agree with. It's not true when your family tell you that they'd never teach you anything wrong. They're human. They're going to get things wrong.
I like tameras idea. Get the kids involved, have the letters and tell the kids “okay ask mommy to guess another letter” He sets them in place to spell it out. She would get it after a little and then he gets on one knee. BOOM!
This is yet another reason why I'm so freaking grateful to God for making me physically challenged because I never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever have to worry about a guy asking me that question.
Yes! Especially when fam doesn’t respect your rules for your kids about what they eat or being spoiled and not disciplined the way you want there ur kids yahknow, and u know have a serious tak with them and wen that does work and you have told them over and over and still u see from a distance when they think ur not looking they give them what you don’t want it’s like dam still no respect for my wishes and imagine wen I’m not here, sadly part of why I don’t leave my kids anywhere always with me everywhere I go unless they can’t come with🤷🏻♀️❤️
I work in a bakery and we deliver. A customer bought a customized cake to be delivered to his granddaughter and requested to hand it to her and her only. Later that day, the mother returns the cake to the shop saying she wants nothing from him. I just don't get emotions.
My daughter isn't missing out on anything by not knowing my mom's mother. My mom's mother is an aweful person. She thinks she's better than everybody, and she's always treated my mom horribly. My mom was from her first marriage, so she didn't make her a priority at all
That’s what I’m saying….you never know why someone is keeping their kids from their parents, most people have a darn good reason. Parents don’t get to treat me any kind of way and have the opportunity to screw up my kids lives as well just because “they’re my parents” and they’re “entitled to” nahhh. I’m entitled to protect my kids from them. Now when they’re 18…a different story. That’s what frustrated me about A on this episode. Just because SHE has a great family relationship and could never dream of not having her mother in her kids’ lives doesn’t make that the narrative for everyone.

my mom was very very abusive when I was a kid, just with me, not with my sisters. so I feel my kids will not be safe with my biological mom. therefore, my kids will NEVER ever ever ever EVER meet my kids, EVER!
nelli rosas my mom had the very same situation! and later on she told me why I never went over to my grandmas and I understand why she did that and I’m not hurt by it at all.
This was such a good segment. LOL at adrienne’s blonde track. You can tell everyone has such beautiful chemistry ❤️
Judge Lynn Toler from Divorce Court said her husband slam her ring down on a table during an argument and said "and I got this for you" and they got married on her lunch break at City Hall and they've been married for over 30 years now.🤷♂️🤷♂️
Lovinnnng Loni’s & Tam’s hair 😍🥰
Tamera said to incorporate the kids and Jeannie said "And they're free."
Hahahaha!!!!
Sometimes the grandparent is still unable to have an adult conversation... just saying.
The man should be present during a proposal just saying
I believe asking a woman what kind of proposal she would want is ideal for casual conversation, and he should be fully aware of what kind of lady she is..(simple or extravagant) (private or public).
I wish they'd include the date on these videos!
Same!
Adrienne is such a pick me. It's sometimes painful to watch.
i love her but that was painful to see
The pick me. What does that mean? :) I don’t understand can you explain please? Like desperate?
Sarah Dunn a woman/girl who goes out of her way to impress and be liked by men and to not seem ‘like other girls’ usually by defending unacceptable or sexist behaviour from men
Osen Ifabua Oh yes I can see that. I understand now. Thank you.
Tamera Saying “Lit” had me on the floor 😂😂😂
Jeanie Mai can sure tell a story!!
I looove the chemistry with this beautifull sisterhood soo much
I think there’s a lot of circumstances where the parents might need to protect their child by limiting time with their grandparents.
IKR
Omg whenthey started talking bout grudges between mother and grandmother i started crying bc i havent seen my grandmother in yrs maybe since i was 10 and im 14 now
I was so not expecting them to talk bout that
Omg Tamera is looking super cute with that flower in her hair. I love it!!!!!!!
Oh A i love you but dang girl....give other hosts a chance to speak 😂
This is the show I miss! With Amanda on the show is just not the same🙁
Me, too! The chemistry between these four is why I started watching in the first place. It’s hard for me to watch with Amanda on.
Same here !!!!
My sister. She holds such a grudge towards my dad cause he “wasn’t there”. She has 5 kids and they barely know who their grandpa is. But only comes around when she needs help or money. I’m currently 8 months pregnant and I’m just glad he’ll have a grandson he’ll always see 💙
So you are that sister huh😒...say hi to your sister and please tell her that she has every right to act the way she does...and tell her a stranger got her back coz her own sister is really shady with the statement she just made
Lisa Kimoni why? Cause my dad has always tried to be there. You don’t know the full story to stfu 🤷🏽♀️
LeeQuinnx congratulations
@@ml.kimoni sorry but i really disagree. If the sis wants to keep distance from the father, then obviously she has every right to do so. But if she as a grown as woman has no problem with asking him for money on a regular basis in order to provide for her 5 kids, it makes no sense why he shouldn't be able to ses them from time to time
Sending love all the way from The Bahamas 🇧🇸🇧🇸❤❤
Loni annoyed with Adriene always missing the damn point.
A is killing me!!!!!!!! Even when shes on point shes aaaaaaaamazing! When she's slippin she's gracious af.
It's important to know the dynamics of their relationship BEFORE opining on the proposal/rejection. How they treat each other, their growth, commitment, how they cope with issues, etc......
Funny enough I don't want a corny proposal.
jeanie: my brothers are boys. lol
Everyone looks so beautiful 🤩
Lol! LOVE this episode!
if a guy purposes to me in public in front of a crowd of people and i'm not ready i'll say yes in front of the crowd but later on in the night i'll tell him my true feelings and rather he excepts them or not will determine if i want to keep working to get to that stage!
Jeannies laughter at the very end..hahah
Well said.
I’m with Adrienne. Maybe it wasn’t what she expected, but maybe he thought it was nice.
Wow Tamera You look so beautiful!!!
BOOM!
They keep interrupting poor Jeannie
This is yet another reason why I'm so freaking grateful to God for making me physically challenged because I never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever have to worry about a guy asking me that question.
Yes! Especially when fam doesn’t respect your rules for your kids about what they eat or being spoiled and not disciplined the way you want there ur kids yahknow, and u know have a serious tak with them and wen that does work and you have told them over and over and still u see from a distance when they think ur not looking they give them what you don’t want it’s like dam still no respect for my wishes and imagine wen I’m not here, sadly part of why I don’t leave my kids anywhere always with me everywhere I go unless they can’t come with🤷🏻♀️❤️
If you weren’t my parent (bad parents) you will not be my children’s grandparent. Is that hard to fathom?
Jeanie looks so good!
My husband came home from work all sweaty and had to remind him to get on his knee . he's not good at planning
Damn Tamera is looking good😍😍
I work in a bakery and we deliver. A customer bought a customized cake to be delivered to his granddaughter and requested to hand it to her and her only. Later that day, the mother returns the cake to the shop saying she wants nothing from him.
I just don't get emotions.
Commitment made me so happy.
@@amayashanice178 Society needs to normalize standing up for yourself and not allowing ANYBODY to overstep boundaries especially friends and family. Family is with who cares bout you not bout blood.
Tam looks so beautiful.
I think they pre gamed before the show 🤣🤣🤣
This man probably was not romantic from the door.
My grandparents don’t talk to me anymore. It’s been like 6 years
first comment💗 i love the real so much
I had Tamera's experience and I feel the same way she does.
well there are other fish in the sea that can connect deep and go all out
If it matters to you, you have a right to be upset. Find someone that doesn’t let you down/leave you hanging for the things that matter the most to you.
Tamera is SO BEAUTIFUL💗🌸😍
No offense but Adrian should just be quiet sometimes
