I am trying to figure out a way to make my bases interchangeable. Especially for the ATST and some heroes i want to do clear but I like the realism. Maybe using magnets in that bases and a small piece of metal on the feet
If you want a very easy option for Imperial bases, sand the base to smooth it out, then either just use a high gloss black spray or prime it and paint it a high gloss black, then a layer of gloss varnish (I use Americana High Gloss Polyeurethane) over it in a smooth layer. For vehicles, you want to clear the sight lines with each step to make sure they're visible. The end result works well for a Death Star deck plating that has that near mirror finish. Also, another way to do flock that's a bit easier to do is to put a thick layer of polyeurethane gloss over the area you want, then cover it in snow flock while still wet. When it dries, apply another layer of polyeurethane overtop of it.
These look really nice! I think ill use the sand one for my guys, i am building an army that used the Death Troopers a lot and i think that the sand will look nice for them! Nice video.
Probably use a GW texture paint, for dunes, and make the sand brighter. And maybe tropical plants. For water, resin would be your best bet. Not an easy thing to do really.
Just some I bought on ebay for a small amount, I knew I wouldn't use much of it. There are loads of options though. I couldn't say one is better than the other!
Great job no doubt, I personally prefer clear bases just so they blend with every battlefield, may seem lazy but I more so enjoy building terrain for different battlefield environments......
No I don't. I do my bases and then glue them normally. You can do that if you want the mini to look in the mud or whatever. That's technically a lie, I mildly super glue them to the base, paint them, then remove them from base and do the bases!
I didn't use sand on my vader... for obvious reasons
Very understanable ;-)
Why not?
@@cashs2599 because its coarse and rough and it gets everywhere.

Haha I just watched Attack of the Clones today
I don’t like sand
Great stuff my friend ! Thanks for tutorial!👍

Hmm I don't think it is worth the effort, maybe commit to a light brown so it looks okay on desert and mud?

I'd never considered the Imperial bases, sounds like a great idea, if you do it, do post pics.
I should have said about firing arcs :)
This is perfect. Thanks jay.
No worries, thanks.

Thanks, I thought I'd do the classics :)
@@TabletopOddity They are rally nice.
Awesome video! :) Any ideas how to make Scarif bases?

A Little tip, you can use tea except of sand for Endor base ;)
I'm always sceptical about using bio products but I can imagine that working nicely.
Remember to mark your firing arcs as well :)
Indeed, I should have said, I would simply use PVA for the sand, and then scrape the lines clean :)
loos really good.i will test it
Good luck
Great video!!!!
What is the grit you use? Thanks, and nice job!

I have tried Woodland Scenics Fine Ballast and Vallejo White Pumice and both have worked comparably well! Have not painted up yet.
yeh, there's a chunk of stuff, most will be fine :)

I understand people liking clear bases for that reason but I just like the way normal basing looks. Each to their own though!
Great video, I love the bases
Thank you :)
Do you have to use the bases that come with the starwars legion kit, or can you use other circular bases
You need ot use bases that are the same size really, for events anyway.
@@TabletopOddity ok thank you
Very nice tutorial :)
Thank you kindly :)
do you glue your minis to the base before you base the base?

Tabletop Oddity ok. I've seen people do it both ways. I got 2 core sets...& all the expansions now lol. So I can do it both ways
Aye, you can do either really :)
Great job on all of them
i've never been that great at basing to be fair, I know yours are great!
Great like ever ;)
Thanks Jens :)
snowtrooper on tatooine
Heh that's me sadly
Fork!
Pardon?
Nah it's Han Solo, not Haan. Stick to yer proper vowels. (Also get well soon, Alex)
Now I am confused. I will need to re watch the films!
Ah it's "Haan" in the films, but some people say "Baath" as well. "Han" and "Bath" in my book. I'm sticking with the proper vowels ;o)
I think I might :)
Leia says it BOTH ways in the films, so who knows!!
Hmm!
