I'm going to buy this car within these next couple of months and this video pretty much sold me on it. Terrific job. Hands down the best 2016 tC review vid. Thanks for sharing.
I have a 2015 in blue, and I love it! Every now and then I look at the fr-S's but every time I get into my tC I feel like I made the better choice. More affordable, practical, sporty and comfortable. 👍🏼 I can't wait to work on it and make it a lot faster and modify some of the cosmetics to make it look like a beast! Has anyone seen Simpli-tc? Gorgeous modified 2015 Scion tC.
You absolutely made the right choice. The Tc is actually faster than the frs off the line and for a while. The frs will catch up in a quarter mile, but i used to own a 6 speed 2015 tc and dusted so many FRS/BRZ owners. They would always pull up to the light next to me and rev their engine and i would absolutely demolish them. Plus there's a comparison video on RUclips that shows the freakin automatic tc beating a manual frs, it's embarrassing for frs owners. The new 86 is a much better improvement but the old ones are so slow and its cuz the Tc has much more torque
I wanted to thank you for uploading this video!! I purchased a 2015 Scion tC in this same magnetic gray earlier this year and this video was my deciding factor. I can't express just how much I love this car!! Thank you and thanks for ALL your videos. Love them all!
I have the exact car and color..... Love it, even the sound system is killer. I usually always have to add an amp. +, but not in this car. Also have a bad back and these seats are exceptionally comfortable ..... Overall I give the car a 4 out of 5..... The engine could use a few more HP, but that's my only gripe !
I'm thinking about buying this for my first car. Heard it's a very nice car to start with. What would you recommend? I Absolutely love everything about this car, but as a 16-year-old driver, I need to make a smart choice. This has the fun, and peppiness i want, but the safety and reliability my parents want. Should I get this car?
MikesCarInfo thanks! Yeah, I'm absolutely loving every aspect of this car, I'm just trying to convince my parents to help me pay for it. Thanks for this amazing in-depth review!!
I would highly recommend it! I had a 2006 scion tc as my first car, and now that I'm in college making a decent amount of money, I decided to go ahead and buy the 2016 model with a manual transmission in blue. The front wheel drive makes it an excellent starter car, and it has a great feel, sporty ride, and well-weighted steering. It has a lot of pep, and can be an exciting drive if you want it to be. If you're even remotely debating going for a manual transmission, I would highly recommend it as well. It is one of the few entry-level cars still offered with a manual, and the six speed is very smooth and fun to drive. All around, this is an excellent car to start off with, and again, it would be an excellent, safe choice.
Hey man. I hit a tree head on at 50MPH in my 2011 (same car structurally). Saved my life. Not a mark on me other than a slight seatbelt rash on my neck and a baby burn from the curtain airbag. Cars engine was moved back about 6 inches. No injuries. I then bought a 2006, turbo'd and than a 2015 in automatic due to a left knee injury. Go for it man. You'll love it. But don't treat it like a corvette.... it's not.
+chohan182001 Good point! I need to figure out a way to incorporate a sound demo with copyright-free music in all my videos. I typically do not mention the sound system unless it has a premium sound system or something unique about it. That needs to change. Thanks for your feedback!
Thanks for getting back to me. Based on your review I have bought 2016 Scion TC Today. Only thing different was for some reason there is no Push button start in Canadian Model. Only change for 2016 I found was upgraded Stereo. Cheers!
I am getting one of these in the next upcoming weeks and I have test driven it twice and my god is it a dream to drive. the sport mode feels great and easy, the normal automatic is the most smooth ride ive ever had. In my personal opinion the car is perfect for the price and its simplistic. It doesn't have too much or too little. Great review of the car. Keep up the good work! :D
I will be getting a tC in the exact same color after I purchase my home!! Although this car is 2 years old, I happened to find one with only 91 miles! I'm so excited man. 😀😀😀
I just purchased it today. The only thing I am disappointed about vs the 2015 it does not come with the gps in the dash like the last model did. I was looking forward to that....
I have the 2015. It's not a GPS it's a feature you pay extra for. It's pretty much a Bluetooth radio with a touchscreen but can have the gps added to the same unit.
(FIRST COMMENT.) I'm north of 90% sure I'm going to buy this car this weekend. I have driven it twice and love it. Pros: Decent gas mileage, sporty exterior, decent interior, push to start and smart key, giant back seat, giant trunk, great wheels, sunroof, moonroof, great sound system, nice entertainment/radio system, and PRICE! About $21K for all this in an automatic? Great deal. Cons: Muffler sound (just my opinion - I'm not the biggest fan but it's not a huge deal), I also with the sunroof/moonroof sliders to close it up were clothe like the rest of the headliner instead of being like a plastic curtain thing, and probably my biggest gripe about this car is that it's a fairly loud cabin when driving down the highway. I with it was a quieter ride. But the actual suspension while driving is good even though I've many people rag on it for being to bumpy of a drive (I'm coming from a 2001 Honda Civic so this is an upgrade, lol). The pros more than out way the cons for me. I travel a lot and will love taking this on trips. Very excited to buy one and start driving! I'm a 20 year old guy btw so I'm kind of their target audience. Great car and Toyota reliability it for real. My buddy has had a tC for the past 8-9 years and has had no major problems with it. He's just maintained it and it's been great on trips through 160k miles.
I test drove an earlier version, loved it BUT visibility was awful. no back up camera. Loved how it drove (manual transmission was awesome) Bad visibility at stoplights due to front roofline. I didn't buy it because of visibility issues. It looks like this 2016 year of the TC has improved slightly. I might go buy one, before Toyota kills it
so basically from 2015 to 2016 they added a rear wiper blade. Which I must say, can come in handy, however, It doesnt look so nice, I like the look of my 2015 without that rear wiper blade.
I have the 2012 TC which is basically the same as this one except for cosmetics and push to start but I love it. Don't get me wrong I'd wish I can be driving like a FRS at times but this is also a great car. Mine is stick which is a plus for me. I got some stuff done to it (intake, exhaust, etc) and it runs fine. Already put 55,000 on it with no worries. Really recommend this car
Hey Mike, what is your opinion of the rear visibility in the TC? Does it really have a cheap interior, or is it just simple? Does the horsepower improve substantially with the TRD performance air intake? Did you like the regular manual shifter? Keep up the good work!
I absolutely loved your extensive review of this new Scion tC, the wife is in love with hers which is a 2006 and I'm thinking about buying her a brand new 2016 and even though I live in Deltona Florida I will negotiate with your boys in South Carolina and depending on the outcome I would be willing to drive there to pick one up, thanks for all the info.
Great video man. I have test driven the car 3 times now and I'm likely going to get it. I have been waiting for a decent review of the 2016 model year and yours was amazing
Dear Bonny, if you are going to educate me about this car, then give me an idea about the high and low value of the car. I go to RUclips for everything, who told you that you can not get price info from youtube, I get prices on just about any product from youtube, do make an excuse for an screw up.
because toyota's MO for this car, since 2005, is to be confused about whether they want to market it as a sporty platform or as an econo car platform. The tC is indecision incarnate and that's actually why it's so good.
I have a 2009 scion tc I love it. my dad works for Toyota n still does for past 33 years. I've had 0 problems with my 09 tc been driving it since 08 n over 100,000 miles and I bought it new with 3 miles on it. I have the 2017 Scion tC on pre order already it coming out in a couple months so anyone reading this is really thinking about buying one n not just window shopping broke lol. Wait for the 2017 scion tC to come out
+Collin Mac not really 160hp 100 foot pounds not much to miss out on. I just like the way the side of the car looks better above the doors it's not squared off like the new ones
Doug Kaminski i was never a fan of the gen1 shape as it looks like a grocery car but im not a power junkie. The thing I love most about my 13 is the sound it makes when you accelerate out of 1st. That pur is satisfying.
I got the damm 10 series n that shit doesnt have that lock door shit.. smh.. sux.. dont get me wrong its a BEAUTIFUL car the 10 series but I wish my car had that automatic touch handle feature
I'm really considering this car but I can't decide 6 speed manual or 6 speed auto. I live in the 4th largest city in the us too. I know that the auto has Rev matching but how's the response of the auto?
I just bought mine the pickup ain't too bad but if you're comfy with the 6 speed buy that because the paddles seem to be connected with air to the tyranny and it seems to change when it wants which really tarnished the car but it still gets a solid 8/10
I prefer the 2015 models they had an actual key. I don't like push start Buttons, I'm not a fan of that unless stuff I like having a key you can stick into the ignition to start the car.
This car is the reason scion died . They built the scion cars so people could play with aftermarket options .While the new scions do not allow the driver to do anything other then by a new exhaust system and some wheels.
While watching this video, I thought I had noticed that the glove box locks with a key, but I didn't think the car came with a key since it is the push button start? Or does it come with a key specifically for the glove box?
+Michael Iverson The smart key has a key inside of it and there is a button on the side that you press to take the key out. It's not only for the glove box, but if the battery of the smart key dies (it only lasts at most 3 years) you have to use the key to get in, and then you put the remote against the push to start button (Yes even though the remote is dead) and it allows you to turn on the car.
Matthew Acuna nice man! I'm at 2200 now. I really wanted the 15 for the paddle shifters but I don't like how the 14-16 have the front and rear bumper change. Reminds me too much of the frs. Also I'm not a fan of the head lights.
I opted for the 2015 over the 2016 because that rear wiper is hideous looking. Use some wax on your windows and you'll never even need wipers... truly.
Hey Mike! I heard rumors just recently about Scion slowly getting dismantled. Their Scion vehicles will be rebadged as Toyota vehicles for a while. Have you heard anything else?
+Mike N When I first heard that Scion was soon to be going out of business, my first thought was that, "Was the Scion Brand, in the first place, even necessary?" All Scion dealerships are pared up with Toyota dealerships so the buyer is 9 times out of 10 are going to buy a Toyota. Let alone look at a Scion vehicle! What do you guys think?
+Mike N nope they are 100% coming out with a 2017 scion tc. my dad works for Toyota and has for the past 33 years. the tc is here to stay regardless of what badge it has on it. we already have a 2017 Scion tc release series on pre order I'm already paying 350$ a month towards it because I'm financing it.
Gas mileage is based on usage. This car hasn't been used outside the parking lot. It will get the mileage stated on the window sticker when it is actually driven.
They have a ton of articles starting in 2010 claiming that back up cameras WILL be mandated in the future. First the law would take effect in 2013... then 2014... then 2015... 2016... 2017... 2018 and so on. I doubt they will ever pass a law because market demand is already headed that direction anyway. www.autonews.com/section/searchresults?q=back+up+camera I think it is better to have a choice because some people get distracted by the camera and it causes them to back into something... I have seen it too many times.
Hey Mike, I been doing my research trying to see what car would best fit my needs and your videos have made things so much easier. I really like this car, but I had some concerns. I'm 6 feet and above 240+ pounds. I was wondering about your height and if you had enough headroom?
Everything in it looks so cheap? The fabric looks uncomfortable and the plastics look like the hard touch/creaky type. The carpet and trunk material also looks very thin and cheap. I'd expect higher quality interiors for the price they are asking. Great review btw
$19-20k for a brand new car is cheap and the plastic is not that bad. If you want premium leather all around but a $30k Camry or a $40-50k BMW. It's a great budget friendly car. My payments are $359 a month and I feel I get to keep more of my $60k a year salary driving this car instead of sending off $500-600 a month to drive a BMW.
It’s a real shame they stopped making scion, there’s still a market for them, I mean this thing has more cargo space than my crossover, it was designed brilliantly
For a 2016 car I honestly expected way more. The only thing that makes it look new is the display. Just looks like a cheap car to me. My 07' M35 has way more perks and it's 9 years older! And that exhaust is just so dumb on a car that has 179 HP and can get to 60 in 7.5 seconds! Tc drivers love flaunting that and it's so dumb.
If I were to get a 2016 Scion Tc, how hard would it be to get parts for it later down the road? My uncle saids it’s a bad idea to get one since Scion is gone.
Does every 2016 Scien tC come with $10k in the back seat? I'm down to buy asap.
One stack of that $100 would be 10 grand. That's more like 50 grand.
Get a Veloster Turbo like me on my channel
I'm going to buy this car within these next couple of months and this video pretty much sold me on it. Terrific job. Hands down the best 2016 tC review vid. Thanks for sharing.
WillyMickyDuke so how do you like it? I plan on buying a preowned 2014
Aidan Wallington my 13 is beyond amazing and reliable went from 56k miles to 80k no problems yet and I push it sometimes up to 130mph in races.
I got the Veloster Turbo Hyundai 2016 on my channel
ayyy did u get it? im trying to buy a used one for my first car
Crazy to see this car new is 21k, but used cars today, 09/08/2022, with 50k-100k miles are going for the same price. Pretty sad.
I have a 2015 in blue, and I love it! Every now and then I look at the fr-S's but every time I get into my tC I feel like I made the better choice. ^^
I should upload a video of my progress! I’ll let y’all know 🤙🏼. Wow 5 years ago lol

"...you can see behind pretty good.." Yes, we did (19:27) ! Love tCs!

Yeah uh why is there like thousands of dollars in the back seat?
+Russell Foreman Lol, just to see who is paying attention. :)
he just tryna flex on us all
It's prop money.
I liked the review. But you totally forgot to mention anything about the sound system specs and how does it sounds.
Cheers!
Does it come with the stacks of hundreds in the back? :)
Scotty Kilmer would approve this vehicle made 100% in Japan
Anyone else notice all that cash on the rear passenger seat? 19:24
+Jimmy Gewin Huh why would someone showcase a "SCION TC", when he is got that kind of cash just laying on the back seat. lol
yeah I saw that wtf!!! guess he's gonna purchase it lol...
maybe the $$$ comes with the car.. fuck iam IN!!
+Jimmy Gewin cocaine dealer confirmed
Lol unpatiently waiting because i dont wanna skip anything
I am getting one of these in the next upcoming weeks and I have test driven it twice and my god is it a dream to drive. the sport mode feels great and easy, the normal automatic is the most smooth ride ive ever had. im going to hate the toyota badge when it changes to toyota only
They are going to have all scion models except tc because they going to stop productipn for it
Boi! That fat stack of cash in the back seat.😂
6 years ago i saw this video when i had the exact same scion.... i lost it, memories is all that reamains
I'm pretty sure you can have it installed for you at the dealer when you buy the car.
I have the 2015. It's not a GPS it's a feature you pay extra for. It's pretty much a Bluetooth radio with a touchscreen but can have the gps added to the same unit.
I have a 2013 and radio is just awful
(FIRST COMMENT.) I'm north of 90% sure I'm going to buy this car this weekend. I have driven it twice and love it.

hopfully this is my first car, you have sold it to me
Buddy had to flex real quick 😂😂 19:20
Its too bad this thing only gets 30mpg. My Celica still gets 40mpg.
I average 19.5 miles city
The base model gets like 35 mpg
Sadly, scion was way ahead of its time
Excellent in depth review!!!
I have a 2006 tC 5 speed manual...best car I ever owned. Other than basic routine maintenance, I've only had to replace the water pump!
Anybody else notice the large amount of cash wrapped in rubber bands just sitting in the backseat towards the end?
I have the 2012 TC which is basically the same as this one except for cosmetics and push to start but I love it. hate seeing a car in better condition than mine
I miss my tC so much! It was a great fun reliable car! It was even good in snow!!

Good car I have one 😍🔥
2014/2015 Scion tC and I think saabkyle04 a little better
?
+MikesCarInfo 2016 I thought it was 2014/2015 but look on RUclips saabkyle04
+Mauricio Cruz 2016 Tc is in the same generation of the 14/15 so of course it looks same on the outside.
nice ride,i own the 2016 manula version....only thing missing is the turbo and i wanted to know why its not lower
because toyota's MO for this car, since 2005, is to be confused about whether they want to market it as a sporty platform or as an econo car platform. The tC is indecision incarnate and that's actually why it's so good.

That is terrible! you must drive hard????
I got the damm 10 series n that shit doesnt have that lock door shit.. smh.. sux.. dont get me wrong its a BEAUTIFUL car the 10 series but I wish my car had that automatic touch handle feature
what year is yours?
+Andres Santana 2014 10 series

+Andres Santana yeah sucks but hey that feature i think is kool.. its to bad but I still have my limited edition series thanks though
+geremi yea it's really cool and nice I want a 2016 scion tc for my 1st car but insurance is expensive on coupes especially since I'm a guy

Do all scion tc 2015-16 make that engine ticking sound ?
I love my 2013. Just hit 700 miles
Yea just hit 20,000 miles on my 2014
Matthew Acuna nice man! I'm at 2200 now. I really wanted the 15 for the paddle shifters but I don't like how the 14-16 have the front and rear bumper change. Reminds me too much of the frs. Also I'm not a fan of the head lights.
How'd you only hit 700 miles 3 months ago on a 13? Lol, you must barley drive it I'm assuming?
touge410 _ about 60 miles a week and that's from driving between school and work. I'm on the highway literally for a few minutes.
+Collin Mac oh nice lol
that stack of money in the back though!
Please guys anyone has this car? What are the things you don't like and you like about this car?
Ya, I love❤️ that car, and it's a Toyota. I can get one right now
With 69,000 miles for $16,990.
Ya, you read that right $16,990 🙄
I opted for the 2015 over the 2016 because that rear wiper is hideous looking. Use some wax on your windows and you'll never even need wipers... truly.
how much would mine cost? its scion tc 2007 with 67 thousend miles? only used it from Harvard to Chelsea Mass very miles back and forth .
Hey Mike! I heard rumors just recently about Scion slowly getting dismantled. Their Scion vehicles will be rebadged as Toyota vehicles for a while. Have you heard anything else?
+TuAnh Duong I haven't heard anything about it.
+TuAnh Duong scions is officially dead www.motortrend.com/news/no-name-changes-planned-for-scion-models-moving-to-toyota-lineup/
They're killing off the Scion TC and carrying the rest of scion to Toyota
+Mike N When I first heard that Scion was soon to be going out of business, my first thought was that, "Was the Scion Brand, in the first place, even necessary?" All Scion dealerships are pared up with Toyota dealerships so the buyer is 9 times out of 10 are going to buy a Toyota. Let alone look at a Scion vehicle! What do you guys think?
+Mike N nope they are 100% coming out with a 2017 scion tc. my dad works for Toyota and has for the past 33 years. the tc is here to stay regardless of what badge it has on it. we already have a 2017 Scion tc release series on pre order I'm already paying 350$ a month towards it because I'm financing it.
why is the gas mileage so low? im scared to get it if it uses to much gas?
Gas mileage is based on usage. This car hasn't been used outside the parking lot.
It will get the mileage stated on the window sticker when it is actually driven.
Is the USB port and auxiliary port in the center console? if not where is it?
it should be. Mine is right above my gearbox
+Doug Kaminski He showed that it was right above to the left of the gear shifter.
Does the car has engine temp gauge display? I think this car will replace my 03 Civic.
+HUNG NGUYEN No it only has a warning light if the temperature is too high.
+HUNG NGUYEN It has a light for too hot and too cold actually
Does anyone know if if the 2016 Scion TC have revatching when downshifting with the paddles ?
I just bought this car!!
I got the Veloster Turbo 2016
My channel Veloster Turbo 2016
All that cash in the back seat tho lol
I thought all 2016 models are supposed to have a back up camera.
Where did you get that information?
MikesCarInfo read an article on autonews.com saying US will mandate back up cameras for new cars in 2016.
They have a ton of articles starting in 2010 claiming that back up cameras WILL be mandated in the future. First the law would take effect in 2013... then 2014... then 2015... 2016... 2017... 2018 and so on.
I doubt they will ever pass a law because market demand is already headed that direction anyway.
www.autonews.com/section/searchresults?q=back+up+camera
I think it is better to have a choice because some people get distracted by the camera and it causes them to back into something... I have seen it too many times.
Love the look.
Great video! This new tC is such a nice car, if only I had the money haha
It's $365 a month do the math on how much you make and how much extra you have, you can achieve your goals
2016.. back up camera is the 2nd year ot was required? My 15 XB has one.
I was looking at 8th gen civics but this video sold on the Tc! You get so much more for your money.
does that pioneer display have navigation / gps? and awesome video buddy. good job
nope
It does but it's optional. You can find the gps part aftermarket for about $350. Scion charges $1,200 to install it from the factory.
I love this car, but it is a hard bumpy ride. Maybe because I have the 10.0 series
9:05 yeah passing isn't that effortless but its a little sporty i always called it a corolla with a body kit
I love this car! I test drove one today! Has great speed for a 4 cylinder. Sucks they stoped making it.
what was all that money?
Hey Mike, I been doing my research trying to see what car would best fit my needs and your videos have made things so much easier. I really like this car, but I had some concerns. I'm 6 feet and above 240+ pounds. I was wondering about your height and if you had enough headroom?
Lol this guys trying to show off his money, must be trying to compensate for something
Are all the scions made in Japan if so is Japan better then the other countries who made the car?
Is it automatic and manual, like the gtr?
Is the 2nd (the smaller) sunroof able to open?
+t0neeh213 No it is fixed.
6 years later no issues with my tC, only oil changes, tires , breaks
It’s a real shame they stopped making scion, there’s still a market for them, I mean this thing has more cargo space than my crossover, it was designed brilliantly
I love these cars.i bought a 2015 scion Tc 9.0!! it's a neck braker.
excellent demo, very thorough and very helpful in understanding exactly the car i plan on buying!
I have a 2014 tC and I love it but I wish I had the push button start and paddle shifters like the 2016 does...
Real money on back seat? It's a lot, last time a saw a lot was on Cops Dope money
have a 07 will be buying another next gen you are showcasing here
lol the stack of money at 19:26
The only thing I like is there is a rear wiper...scion Tc lack on rear wiper..
Does it have a backup camera? I’d be surprised if it didn’t.
does all 2016 tc comes with push start because in Toronto its key ignition and I was wondering about that?
Most new cars do. Keys are becoming old now lol.
Popeyes Fanta in the spill.
Tc drivers love flaunting that and it's so dumb.
the 2016 0-60 is 6.0 seconds way better than 2015
$21,000 you get what you pay for, but it's a Toyota so it's gonna last way longer than others.
If I were to get a 2016 Scion Tc, how hard would it be to get parts for it later down the road? My uncle saids it’s a bad idea to get one since Scion is gone.
It has a Toyota Camry engine, and you know how many of them are rolling around. Scions had very few parts that were specific to them.
really like this car!
