Its not just the tC that people beat on. Its ALL Scions! Almost every xB I see, including mine, has at least some noticeable body damage. The great thing is that they run forever, unless they have oil consumption issues but they largely fixed that on the 2.5L in the 2nd gen tC. Great buy and great color!
Its because they don't realize the caliber of the car they have. They assume it's just like another mazda or hyundai econobox, not realizing they have a car that is capable of running years and years with only oil changes.
I own a 2013 tC and have been using since Oct 2019. As a young driver I have been loving the car and this video just makes me happy on the car I own. Thanks!
I had two tC. I recently sold a manual 2011 tC earlier this year and currently own a manual 2014 10 Series tC. These are great cars for a grocery getter, fun weekend warrior and great for a young family. Definitely undervalued and hard to come by these days.
First car for me was my 2012 Scion tC. Bought it straight off the lot, brand new, and it has never let me down. Absolutely tremendous value for the money. I plan to keep mine forever. And every time I bring it to a shop to have maintenance, they ALWAYS say "wow this is in great condition" because most people that have these are just teen's first cars and they beat the hell out of them. I got mine as a teen too but it's been garage kept, in perfect condition since day 1, weekly washes. That's the thing. The people that keep these in good condition never want to sell them, that's another reason why you see so many beat up ones on the market. Those are from the folks that don't take care of them. I know I'm in the minority for having a pristine tC, and I know it's not the fastest or most expensive car around, but man, it is a joy to drive. And it gives me no issues. What more can one ask for?
I too have a second gen, and have kept it to the utmost conditions and definitely weekly washes...it's a manual and I love it, will never get rid of it and it's just amazing!
I have a 2011 with all the TRD upgrades. Like you I wash it every other week and use spray wax to maintain the paint and I also keep the interior in good shape. My friend saw it the other day, and thought it was a brand new car lol. Little did he know it's 10 years old.
Quentin how is it driving a manual as your daily driver ? I am looking for scion as my daily driver but I don’t know if I should get a manual or not! I would appreciate any advice and if you can let me know what’s the best place to search for used scions. thank you
@@boutrosebba7258 If you live in a heavily populated area qnd or do a lot of highway driving with any heavy traffic it can become annoying most definitely qs you have to keep switching gears, although depending on your perspective you might see it as a good workout for the legs! Overall they are great dependable reliable cars at the end of the day. As far as finding one I would suggest looking on the Craigslist website for your area or possibly a app used to sell cars like possibly offerup or even try the newspaper listings. I wish you the best of luck my friend.
I'm a delivery driver and I have owned a '14 tC for about two years now. By far the most reliable and dependable car I've ever owned. Fun zippy thing around town too. Handles great for what it is.
Hi there! Are you still loving your '14 tC? Do you own a manual or automatic? I am looking at the 3rd generation scion as well. Monogram series 2014. I am just trying to get some general advice and thoughts. Thank you.
My 11 kept up with 2 brand new Harley big bores at lake Havasu last summer (father and son) they got out 10 feet and I got back beside them. They were surprised. I used a tent rain fly to hook to the rear bumper and the door latch u bolts in the jam, camped all over the west coast,Nevada, Arizona. Great car to do long drives
Im using my 09 tc for delivery as well, and BOY do I miss the mpg of my civic and scion xa! The tc is getting around 16 city! The fun factor is pretty high though, I do like all the extra torque.
the price point for these cars meant it was the first new car for many folks, and many of those buyers were younger. And unfortunately, many younger first time new car buyers are hard on their cars and don't always follow the maintenance schedule. So, these cars get banged around and used up. If you find a good clean Sion, it's worth the buy.
Great reliability! We owned one…loved the styling, but def not “sporty.” It was let down by a kind of low-rent interior. But yeah, it had zero issues and looked great from an exterior styling standpoint.
You should get leather seat covers. I got a quality pair of the front seats in red wine color. Received tons of compliments because they look like they are from luxury cars. Definitely huge upgrade for the interior.
I have a 2015 tC and I love it. Driving on curvy roads is an absolute blast. You should get a metal oil filter housing. The plastic ones will start leaking at some point. Mine was less than 60k miles with some seepage so I replaced it sooner rather than later (although I was using a metal tool on the plastic housing)
Quite a shame that people treat them like they're throwaway cars. I quite like Scion. The closest thing we ever got from the brand was the iQ (sold as a Toyota iQ) and the iM (sold as a Toyota Auris)
I had a first Gen tC with the 2.4l 2AZ. Solid car and could be bought with a manual. Both gens could be made into sleepers with proper tuning. My oldest brother has built his 1st gen’s engine to handle 1000 bhp and is running it at 600. The second gens have the same engine used in FD by Jonathan Castro’s Brz and Ryan Tuerk’s Corolla Hatch. Both engines aren’t very known in the tuner community so build them is cheap and you can still find some pretty good ones out there.
@@TacoBurgalur ehh the aftermarket for the tC is pretty dried up and you need to run piggyback engine management to tune them. Great first “tuner” car though as long as you know what you’re getting into
@@lonniemurray4742 "Great first “tuner” car though..." That's why you can't find any of these anymore in nice shape. Scion was promoted to a younger generation and a lot of guys and gals in the tuner scene went with it. I found a stock '09 Tc w/ 99k a few years ago that lasted to 220k over five years. Was a great car.
I have a 2011 with a 6 speed. Bought it “dealer used/new” in 2011. 195,000 trouble free miles later, it has NEVER used oil or needed major maintenance other than the throw out bearing replacement (typical problem with this 6 speed). It’s still super clean inside and out. I can’t wait to show up to a cars and coffee with it 15 years from now and it still be as clean as the day I bought it.
I had a 2010 tc and I absolutely loved that car! I’d still be driving it if I hadn’t changed jobs and needed an AWD. Great mileage and really fun to drive! I ordered mine with a manual and almost all of the TRD goodies added! Great little car for the price tag!
$9000 for an eight model year old economy car with 140,000 miles and body damage?! Crazy! The market is insane right now. A few years ago you could be a similar equipped NEW car for under $15k! Heck this car was only about $20k new. Makes no sense to me to buy used. Buy new and keep for 20+ years instead.
I've owned 5 scions. 3 xb's (2 first gens and a second gen) and 2 tC's (first gen and the redesigned later 2nd gen) Great car. Had the 6spd manual in the monogram edition (extra luxuries). Was my first brand new car. Probably shouldn't have sold it, but it was fun. Only issue I ever had was the pano roof would sometimes stick closed in the heat. Other than that, a LOT of fun.
@@MN2_Kevin_Hill_1970 I wasn't suggesting for you. I want a fun car as a second car. I've had turbo cars last well over 200k. The TC is cool bit its slow and lethargic.
@@rxtuninginc8444 yeah it’s definitely a little underpowered, and the fuel economy is good but isn’t anything to write home about. If you want a Corolla or a civic but want something with a little flair that can fit lots of stuff/people in it for it’s size you can’t go wrong. Mine has done 3 track days, 2 autoX seasons and put up with a whole lot of adolescent shenanigans, as well as a dependable partner on my 200 mile a day commute to work, so it has some shortcomings but is a really good car overall.
1. The car looks great!!! 2. It sounds amazing, and no performance mods! The muffler is a glasspack style which gives the car a sporty growl 3. The wheels are awesome 4. I love the body
Just bought a 2012 identical to that one for a beater daily driver. It had the common input shaft bearing problem that plagued the 6 speed manual cars. Replaced all the bearings with new ones from Toyota and it's all good. Very solid car for 202k miles.
Ditto here! In fact, my 2011 6spd is in the shop for the second time with the same problem. Causing me to wonder if it's the transmission shop making errors or using the previous input shaft bearing before the TSB. Hoping I don't get charged again. Love everything else about the car!
Congratulations Wizard on the new car!!! I also purchased a 2016 Tc RS 10.0 in August. Coincidentally I had the exact same missing and damaged parts as you do. The inner fender is simple but the dilemma is it has like five or six different push pins and screws to keep it in place. Just a heads up the only part that breaks easily is the driver-side cloth door armrest do not put too much weight on it or it will snap.
I have a 2015 tC and the manual shift cover came loose at 111k miles. Other than that, no issues except the hatch Back struts are wearing out. Best car I've ever owned and since the 1986 Corolla GT-S.
I had an old Subaru. Thing constantly had issues. High miles. I'm a single guy in my 20s. A friend had one of these and I fell in love. I finally got one. A 2016 tC 2 years ago. It's not the fastest or most smooth riding. But I love my car. Reliable. No issues. Tons of room. I love that it's a hatchback which makes it easy to carry stuff. I moved from NY to NC last year and fit a full size treadmill and everything else I own in it. These cars are underrated for sure. Also, if you want a Toyota but can't afford a Toyota look at Scions. Their resale value is less than a typical Toyota but still has the same reliability.
@@diegomontoya8095 I'm not gonna lie it was very difficult. These cars aren't very common. Especially the 2nd generation from 2011-2016. I had went to a dealership and traded in my Subaru and they had to find my tc at an auction and sell it to me. I bought it with 34k on it. Now it has like 72 A couple things to note with these cars. The first generation from 2005-2010 have the 2az engine that burns oil. The 2011-16 have the 2arfe engine that doesn't. I have an automatic. I wanted a Manual to learn but these cars especially the 11-16 have an issue with the manual transmission input shaft bearing and can be expensive to fix. Lots of owners have complained and Toyota hasn't done anything about it. I've seen people pay over 1000 bucks to fix that. That's why I stuck with the automatic since Toyota automatics are super reliable. Bumper clips break alot on these so just because the bumper clip is a lil messed up doesn't mean it was a wreck necessarily.
@@m-droradio1483 Thanks for the insights on the 2nd gen cars. I have a '08 first gen. Other than burning oil. My car now spits oil (need to replace valve cover gasket) but because of that Toyota badge it refuses to overheat and I still keep my foot on the gas 😁
Great buy, Wizard! I own a 2013 TC as my daily, and you seriously are hard pressed to find a better all-around car that meets decent looks, fun to drive, and absolute practicality. I've had mine as a second owner for 6 years, and literally no issues except hatch struts. Enjoy, glad to see this car here!
I have a 2015 tc, manual, love the car. Sadly I bought it with the cold air intake but I love it regardless. I recently installed a cat back exhaust on in, and let me tell ya, it sounds pretty darn good. Love your channel wizard, greetings from Puerto Rico.
@@b-kingmotovlog2818 I'd buy something that looked exactly like a LFA for $20,000 no matter what engine. But yeah, NOTHING looks like a LFA except the $125,000 variety Lexus sells.
My wife and I bought the first Scion (TC) sold in Texas back in the day. Might as well have been a Lamborghini with all the attention that car got. Everyone asked what it was.
@@johntyson the TC and RUclips both started in 2005. Besides, the internet preceeded that by a long shot. To suggest there just wasn't much info floating around when the TC first made it to Texas is ridiculous. It's simple. Most people aren't car people so don't know anything about when something new is coming. So when they first see something they've never seen before that is attractive enough to catch their eye, then sure people will ask.
I just bought a 2015 Scion tC with 40k miles, in almost perfect shape. It's almost impossible to find any current videos about these cars. I appreciate you giving a second life to this model.
Our 2011 just rolled over 200k. No big issues so far and it just did a couple +1,000 mile road trips this year. Replacing the trans fluid is the ‘hardest’ normal maintenance item on this car. Check the sun visors as well to see if they stay in the ‘up’ position. Ours like to hang down an inch or so.
I remember looking at one of those when they were new a few years back. The only problem is that the stylish flat roof gives you less inside headroom. Since I’m really tall, this made it a no-go for me. If it had more headroom, I might be driving one of them now too…
@@kevinperalta9555 i'm 6'6" and my torso is longer than my legs, so it's doubly worse for me. There are cars/trucks that I fit in, but it's something that I have to pay careful attention to.
Boy does this video make me feel great!!! I know this video was posted 2 years ago, but I purchased a 2011 tc (Same Nautical Blue)for my daughter with 113,000 miles for $3800!! Sure it has a few bumps and scrapes but the interior is spotless and it drives like a dream!!
I bought a rebuilt/salvaged 2005 Scion Xb with 80K miles on it for $5500 in 2008. My daughter-in-law has it now and it's about to pass 200K miles. Except for engine mounts and a shifter cable that the "rebuilder" didn't replace it's never been in a shop. I have fixed everything it needed since, which has been very little. The best car I ever owned!
Got one myself earlier this year and I love it. You're right not a lot horsepower but an awesome car. I did have the resonator removed and had a borla axle back installed and she sounds amazing. Wizard great video. Love watching. Keep up the great work
My Scion XA was so much fun to drive. It was peppy, tiny, and super reliable. It was my first car and I took it cross country multiple times. The Scions are a deal!
I bought my '13 Scion Tc about 5 years ago at 30k miles and it is still such a dependable car. I've added or swapped some things here and there but the car is so easy to work on.
I had a '91 5-speed Camry Wagon that was still going strong in 2005 with over 330,000km. Was a top end model too with power windows and cruise control, I loved that car.
Bought 2014 scion TC with 108k miles for 9k recently. I like the second generation look much better. There were minor small damages on the exterior but not noticeable from walking distance. Got everything checked without issues and only needed to replace the rear brake rotors/pads and 1 side caliper. The car sound system is really good. The speed is decent surprisingly. I had a Mercedes with over 300HP before this car and the tc speed doesn't bother me at all. Tc saves me tons of gas too. I'm very happy about the purchase.
After watching this, I just realized that this might actually be a revised 6th gen Celica. I have a 95 with over 300k miles and even the trunk light looks exactly similar. That engine looks very similar to my 7AFE even the motor mounts lol. The rear hatch, seats, and most of all, made in Japan. I might consider getting this now that you've showcased it. Been looking for a worthy replacement. And your remark about Audis needing work is spot on. I just sold my Q5 this year. Worst car ever made.
The Engine is a 2.5 liter I4 2AR-FE and the chassis is from the 3th generation Toyota Avensis and so has nothing to do with the Celica. Buy one, this is a future classic!
@@one_flew_over_the_cuckoos_nest I said it's very similar. I just did the timing belt this year and the layout of accessories is almost the same (alternator, sp, starter,)
Congrats on your new ride, Wizard. My brother-in-law has a TC of that same vintage; I believe it has been a good car for him. I am surprised to see you got a car with a manual, but I am glad to see you shifting your own again. With the nautical blue and a manual trans, you car may be quite the unicorn.
Exactly the same thing I thought. I was like "No way it's also a manual!" when I saw a glimpse of the shifter. And all the rear stuff is intact, it looks like how they treat collectors porches where they keep the manuals and stuff original and sealed!
Scions were supposed to appeal to a younger audience than Toyota has been getting. Low cost, simple, easy to mod. They are beat on because alot of these were first cars for new drivers.
It's kind of wild how much car prices have gone up! I was shopping for cars last September and had the chance to get a 2014 TC Manual (110k miles) for 7.5k after taxes in Indiana. (I am a college student so I ended up getting a 2011 Civic LX with 120k miles for 4.5k! Love that thing to bits!)
i own the first gen 06 scion tc and i love it! never had a problem with it. just small maintenance here and there changing oil, tires, and the only thing i had to change was the starter. i drove it since 09 and still driving to this day. love the back, plenty of room for a 2door and it reclines. put it down and you can load up mountain bikes in it :3
I have the same car. Standard transmission. It's been my favorite car I've ever owned. Im just about to change out my brakes and rotors and do an oil change which I guess is how you came across my feed, but im a subscriber now. Love to see another stick shift driver with a tC!
You scored on this one Car Wizard! Great price and looks like it's in really good shape! Thought you didn't like manuals anymore? Haha But a 6 speed is the way to go with this tC!! Congrats on the new ride as well as continuing to help out the local small business!!
Yeah I was surprised too. I kinda assumed it was gonna be an auto since his prelude was auto and those actually weren't rare in a manual like the last gen tc.
I like my 2008 better because the speed sensitive steering feels more natural than drive by wire.and 17 inch rims allows me to switch from 215/45/17 to 215/50/17 michelins and just one size up on the aspect RATIO and michelins makes it ride soo much quieter smoother and not so harsh over rough roads the perfect comprise tire size 45 aspect RATIO and lower allows you alignment control arms and even your rims to suffer abuse and with the michelins i can hear my engine and radio.i guess he might can go more sidewall but i think hes at his limit on clearance with those 18!?i just dont get the super low profile and dont say handling because formula one sidewall is about 60 on a sixteen inch rims!!but just switching to michelins will help alot.other than those two differences both generations are super reliable as long as you do the routine scheduled maintenance
My wife has a 2015 TC, 6spd manual trans, Manley rods and pistons, ARP hardware, a small turbo from a Mitsubishi Starion. just under 300hp and 105k miles and a LOT of autocross and track days. Runs like a champ!
Have wanted one of these in nice shape since they were new, just could never swing the asking price. These are one of the best things Scion ever sold, and they sold a couple of fantastic models over their brief lifespan.
I just bought a 2005 Scion Tc last week. One Owner, 110k miles with a 5 speed. It’s absolutely MINT. I got really lucky that I found it. Hope you enjoy yours, I LOVE mine.
I own a 2015 tc rs with the two tone and it’s going strong, bought it 1 and a half years ago, put about 10k miles on it, absolutely love it, no complaints but a common issue with these, and I’m sure you won’t be blasting heavy metal with extra bass… BUT the window switch panel does rattle, simple fix though. 3m panel rattle tape solves it quick
Love that you are a family with access to, and experience with exotics, yet you have this warm spot for the unique and forgotten cool cars from the recent past. You're not trying to impress the masses, or the auction crowd, but do get admiration from nerds like us whose heads turn when a Contour SVT, a G20t, a V6 6speed Accord, a Galant VR4, a Legacy SpecB, a 9-5 Aero, an i3 REx, a Caprice PPV, a Caliber SRT4 or any other car that's cool or weird, but not celebrated.
I have a 2008 tC that I bought for $1,000 from my cousin. 94k miles and I am in love with it! It has some dings and scratches and a bumper dent. But I love that it is a 5spd, great gas mileage and just fun and comfortable to drive.
I'm with the Wizard. I tried for a while to find a one-owner Scion years ago. Even then the cars had stupid modifications and were driven hard. Good car, good price, and good resale.
@@rahundsigma I think the key was that I wasn’t looking specifically for the tC. Just wanted a solid two door manual with some cool-factor and reliability. I lowered it on tein coilovers and put enkei TA-5s on it
I'm on my second tc, my first was a 2007 that I had for 3 years and was my first car, it was an awesome, fun car and very reliable. It came to me with a couple decently significant cosmetic issues, and I never put a single scratch on it. Just sold it for something newer and got a beautiful PERFECT 2016 TC RS. And I am in love🥰
I had one bought new, what was nice about the Scion dealers was the no haggle price they had one price and that was it, very easy to purchase and i put 200k miles on it before I moved on to something else
I guarantee that the reason the plastic cover under the front bumper is missing is because some of the clips broke when they tried putting it back on after they installed the fog lights since those are only aftermarket and not an option from the factory for some reason. (I know because I almost threw mine away when I installed fogs on my 13 tC)
Who also smokes and doesnt give a thought about oil changes and tire rotations. That's the problem with buying cars like this used, but the Scion TC is one of the few that can survive a little abuse and still be a decent car. Having said that, even brand new off the lot the interior is straight up tupperware plastic fantastic, and the build quality (especially door armrests) seem to be lacking...and wont get better with age. In fact the first gen Scion TC actually has the best looking interior (seems they were going for a buget Lexus look) in spite of the fact it's also mostly rock hard plastic.
Car wizard I've seen plenty of scions including the xB and the TC all been hot rodded and modded to a point where it's ridiculous. It would be hard to find a TC that's in good shape like the one you have. And to be honest with you I don't blame you for not mad in the car and leaving the stock cuz I think they're both fun in stock form as opposed to being modded.
I like the pano roof setup on this car. It looks exactly like my ES. Oh, the front trim in front of the front glass is the only part that’s metal. It serves as a diffuser for wind noise once the front glass is opened.
Just got a 2011 tC with 45,000 miles on it (72,000 km!) and I'm very excited to use it as my daily driver. Garage kept and well maintained. 6 speed manual transmission is a joy and all I need to do is replace the passenger side mirror cover. I plan on keeping it for at least a decade.
Beside the nice surprise dual panoramic moonroof, you will find that the back seats can be reclined quite a certain degree for more laid back sitting. This is the perfect vehicle for your high schoolers' first car!
Those Camry engines are probably one of the most reliable engines ever produced. My sister bought hers new and other than oil changes, plugs, and coil packs it's needed nothing else to get past the half a million mile mark.
I had an 04 xB, and my brother had a first gen tC, and they were both fantastic cars (even the dog-slow xB was geared short enough to be a lot of fun to drive with the manual). Super practical, well-made, unbelievably reliable cars. ....but yeah, they are a nightmare on the used market. This is a fantastic find.
I just bought one of these, same year but a Release Series (8.0, meaning this was the 8th year of these I suppose) with just under 87k miles. It's been a good car so far, I've had it a few days now-it's surprisingly "well" maintained considering the crowd that typically owns these; paint could use some work (probably a former auto wash membership) and the inside needs a good detail but other than that it runs great and is in relatively good condition, with all factory parts (including those exclusive to the trim level)
I for one think that your hard work and sense of enterprise allows you to buy and do whatever you want. Its the American way!4 years ago, I bought a 2001 Honda Accord with 127 K miles. Best damn car I ever had. Can't kill it, even in New Mexico!
I have a 2013 tC and it's lovely. It's not too much power, but its fun. I've got an exhaust, coilovers, and some other stuff and it's a great first car. I also take it to the canyons with my friends. Be careful with the manuals though, they're known to have input shaft bearing problems. Mine does need the engine removed at 94k to have the upper oil pan resealed though. I don't know the previous history of this car, so I'm assuming its the original engine.
I noticed the transmission had blue numbers painted on the bottom like it came from a wrecking yard. I test drove a 2013 TC with 130,000. The bearing was squealing pretty bad. Apparently it had been replaced at 30,000 along with other parts in the transmission. We decided not to get it.
I just bought my first tc, its an 05 with 270K miles! Runs great! Doesnt leak any oil, bottom of the trans and oil pan or clean, of course its not this clean but for $1500 bux I cant complain! Its not a race car and I have no plans of driving it like one. I plan on pulling the ocv solenoid (some call it vvt solenoid) and cleaning/replacing that screen. Mine just passed smogged and runs like a champ!
The Car Wizards has the coolest walk on RUclips! I'd love to see a continuous loop video of him just walking around with Pantera's WALK as the background music. Maybe if this post gets enough thumbs up The Car Wizards will make such a video!
My company bought me a new at the time 2016 Scion XB. at first I thought they were crazy, but after 300k miles I absolutely Lovred that little car. It was great in lots of ways and it drove like a go-cart. Great buy...
I have had my 2012 since almost new (40k in 2015). Now 2021 @ 115k and it's the most reliable car I have ever owned. Nothing but oil and filter changes, one tune up and a set of brakes and tires. I have Porsches, Triumphs, the whole deal. Love cars. That being said this tC has been the best commuter but fun car ever. By the way we are twins. Mine is the exact color scheme as yours (identical car)...I went with the yellow fogs as well. Just wanted to say I enjoy watching your channel as well as the craziness with Hoovie on his channel. Keep up the good work!
It adds too much extra weight and lowers the headroom and sacrifices body stiffness. It's design focus was to stay around 3000 pounds with 200 hp. You can always add a moon roof but idk.
The wife i have a 2013 tc in charcoal silver. We love it!. Owned ours for 5 yrs and haven't had to put anything into it. Just regular maintenance. We drive it 6 hrs straight at times as well travel alot. Its incredible
My first car was an '06 TC, took ownership in '08. Got rid of it in 2020... because of a crash. Only maintenance I needed to do aside from oil changes/tires/alignment was a new alternator. Got a newer Mazda 3 and missed the TC, lower seats, higher revs. Not a sports car by any means but is closer to Acura than Honda. Form factor was perfect. Moved half way across the country and fit my queen size bed frame and entire 1br apartment in that hatch. All I can say is it served me well for 12 years, and that's something that you don't take for granted!
I had a 2012 Manual tC, bought it brand new. Got it with the manual and the transmission died when it reached 100k miles, then I couldn't find a replacement. Loved that car, I literally cried when I had to let it go.
I currently have an 06 tc and honestly I love it, done the classic 17-18yr old things like a head unit, sound system, tints, but I’m an up and coming mechanic so I’m keeping mine pretty good, bought it in good condition, plan to drive it til I need to buy something bigger. I love my scion
I have a 05 tc 230,587 miles still going strong, ive had it for a little over 1yr and I drive a average of 120 miles a day to work and back (highway) cant complain i love it.
Not mine. I have a 2006 XB that looks great. Under 120K miles. Bought it from the original owner a few years ago. It’s been a great car.
I think people beat on all cars. It is hard to find a good clean used car, even for $20k
Its because they don't realize the caliber of the car they have. They assume it's just like another mazda or hyundai econobox, not realizing they have a car that is capable of running years and years with only oil changes.
Toyota and Honda make great vehicles I myself owe a 2004 acura RSX with over 200000 miles on it it still runs great
I have a 2011 xB, almost 300,000 km, still going strong!
This isn’t a fake Toyota, this IS a Toyota.
I own a 2013 tC and have been using since Oct 2019. As a young driver I have been loving the car and this video just makes me happy on the car I own. Thanks!

Scion is an underrated yet amazing brand. Sadly it didn't get the love it deserved. Wish they would re release
I would buy a 2025 xB if they brought it back.
I would appreciate any advice and if you can let me know what’s the best place to search for used scions. thank you

I'm a delivery driver and I have owned a '14 tC for about two years now. By far the most reliable and dependable car I've ever owned. Fun zippy thing around town too. Handles great for what it is.

What did you expect in a budget car?

Some cheaper cars have decent interiors. The TC really does have a lot more hard plastic than a cheaper Corolla or a cheap VW or Hyundai.
You should get leather seat covers. I got a quality pair of the front seats in red wine color. Received tons of compliments because they look like they are from luxury cars. Definitely huge upgrade for the interior.
I own one of these and i absolutely love it. Same year and everything. Kudos to the wizard
^The iM was basically a slightly cheaper Corolla Hatch --good buy!
Great first “tuner” car though as long as you know what you’re getting into
@@lonniemurray4742 "Great first “tuner” car though..."
That's why you can't find any of these anymore in nice shape.

How many miles on it at 2025? Cause mine 2011 corolla le has now 250k and still running like a dream
I had a 2010 tc and I absolutely loved that car! I’d still be driving it if I hadn’t changed jobs and needed an AWD. Great mileage and really fun to drive! I ordered mine with a manual and almost all of the TRD goodies added! Great little car for the price tag!
TRD goodies?what is that?I keep hearing about that on these tc posts
$9000 for an eight model year old economy car with 140,000 miles and body damage?! Crazy! The market is insane right now. A few years ago you could be a similar equipped NEW car for under $15k! Heck this car was only about $20k new. Makes no sense to me to buy used. Buy new and keep for 20+ years instead.
That scion looks great! I remember when Toyota had all types of accessories, keychains, earbuds, etc.

2. It sounds amazing, and no performance mods!
The muffler is a glasspack style which gives the car a sporty growl

A couple things to note with these cars.

The tC has been given the stamp of approval from the Car Wizard🔥
I just bought one of these, same year but a Release Series (8.0, meaning this was the 8th year of these I suppose) with just under 87k miles. It's been a good car so far, I've had it a few days now-it's surprisingly "well" maintained considering the crowd that typically owns these; paint could use some work (probably a former auto wash membership) and the inside needs a good detail but other than that it runs great and is in relatively good condition, with all factory parts (including those exclusive to the trim level)
I get the feeling Wizard doesn’t like fixing his own stuff, does it all day for others
My favorite mechanic reviewing my favorite covered wagon of all time. Thanks for giving it love.
Same engine as my moms 2014 Camry, and it's surprisingly quick for how small the engine is.
Holy shit you can say something different! 😳
@@rxtuninginc8444 I'll stop when The Car Wizards makes the video!
Glad to see that it is correct wheel drive and has the correct number of pedals in it
My company bought me a new at the time 2016 Scion XB. at first I thought they were crazy, but after 300k miles I absolutely Lovred that little car. It was great in lots of ways and it drove like a go-cart. Great buy...
There is no 2016 model scion XB.
@@mr2cqql yes your right, it was a 2013, the 2016 was my next company car, a Mazda Cx5
@@brianlouis5309 well go carts aren't that fast and this car sure ain't fast either 😂 but sure does look cool and is very reliable
I really liked these. Sporty Hatchback with sunroof. I was disappointed that the 86/BRZ doesn't have a hatch or a sunroof option.
I like styling too, it's what you'd call taut ! A little hint of Subaru, that paint colour tho', damn it's sharp !👍
The guy with the Mercedes just brought the car up so you could tell him what’s wrong with it haha 😂
I had a 2012 Manual tC, bought it brand new. Got it with the manual and the transmission died when it reached 100k miles, then I couldn't find a replacement. Loved that car, I literally cried when I had to let it go.
Nautical Blue is a great color for Captain Wizard to take to the lake.
Drive it into the lake.
2 years ago I sold my 2013 TC 6 speed with 120k miles for $5500, I should have held onto it and sold it now!!
I own a 2015 and I love it, super reliable, only issue I have is my throw out bearing is wearing out kinda fast lol
"I'm not really into a fast car at this point in my life"...says the owner of a Ferrari and a V-12 swap into a Chevelle.....un-hunh.......
I have a 05 tc 230,587 miles still going strong, ive had it for a little over 1yr and I drive a average of 120 miles a day to work and back (highway) cant complain i love it.
