My fuel mileage in cold weather gets bad but found the engine wasn't warming up fast enough so I simply cover the front grille up with Nascar tape. The engine heats up quickly and fuel economy goes back to normal.

You gotta replace spark plugs more often but overall the oil burning is overblown. Thanks for this video. Hopefully prices of this car will drop and more people will have a great car for super cheap. Oh our xB now has a leaking head gasket and guess what? It still runs! 15 years and 260,000 miles is pretty good for a car you should never buy.

Thanks Scotty. My '08 XB was up to burning about 2-3 quarts between oil changes. I ran Liqui Moly Engine Flush about a year ago, which freed up my piston rings (I’m sure there was some crystallized sludge that kept the rings from doing their job). I ran the product for 30 mins (a little longer than they recommended) then drained and added fresh oil. Doesn't burn anymore, I mean nothing, like brand new. Funny thing though was when I returned the exhaust to stock with OEM parts when I was getting ready to sell it, that seemed to solve it. I would put it through the same driving as normal and same situations that would cause it to spit out a big blue cloud with the custom exhaust, but no matter what I did I there would be no cloud coming out.
