- Hail to the King Baby. This drink will swallow your souls, so come get some. Groovy.
The first Evil Dead was made on a shockingly small budget, Evil Dead 2 is almost a remake that focuses more on the humorous side of the horror and then there is Army of Darkness which falls more in the absurd/fantasy/comedy genre. Later Starz created the series Ash vs Evil Dead which continues the series AND give us a definitive drink called the Pink F*ck. The show describes the drink as ""a proprietary mix of liqueurs and spirits, garnished with orange rind and nutmeg...oh and there's a sh*t ton of ketamine in it."" They give a detailed description of the ingredients on the show and while I will not be using ketamine, I did look into what it would taste like and came up with this version of the Pink F*ck that I believe is pretty close to what is described in the show - it was awful so I also made my own version which I am calling a Pink Liaison.
Pink F*ck (Group Serving):
Build in a pitcher
Grate fresh nutmeg into the pitcher
Zest some orange into the pitcher
5 oz. or 148 ml. Vodka
2 second pour of Strawberry Liqueur
Splash of Rose's Grenadine
.5 cup or 118 ml. of Lemonade
Crack ice into glass, pour and enjoy
Optional for the full ketamine flavor experience add a splash of Suze liqueur
Pink Liaison (Single Serving):
Build in shaker
1 oz. or 30 ml. lemon juice
.5 oz. or 15 ml home made Grenadine
1 oz. or 30 ml. Strawberry Liqueur
2 oz. or 60 ml. Vodka
Bar spoon of Suze Liqueur
Add ice to shaker and shake
Strain into glass
Garnish with grated nutmeg and flamed orange peel

Evil Dead was great, I mentioned this in the last video but I think you should check out the game AFTERPARTY--- it's a great game and I think you'd like it!
you definitely gotta do some meta episodes some day, favorite inspired recipes creations and then a bonus episode for other creators creations you have made.
Hail to King Baby
"If I had a nickle for each time I've had to replace ketamine with another ingredient on this show, I'd have 2 nickles! Which isnt a lot, but its weird that it happened twice"

I love how in the beginning of how2drink Greg had this swavé bartender persona going on, and now he's the wonderful dork that he is.
Agreed!
I think we may be around the same age. I wanted to see Army of Darkness when I saw the trailer on TV. My cousin who was 10years older, told me about Evil Dead. He invited me over to have marathon of all 3. Then in highschool I decided to host my own annual Evil Dead marathon (evil dead day!) on Ash Wednesday.
Anyway as an avid Evil Dead enthusiast, I can say that the first drink was definitely the Ash vs Evil Dead of Evil Dead beverages.
The alcohol’s really starting to have an effect.
Wouldn't have it any other way
Suave*
The show was canceled way before its time. How does Walking Dead get like 13 seasons but this barely got any? 😭
I know your pain. Wish it had a proper ending
It got more seasons that "Stan Against Evil". Oh no, I was wrong. They both only got three seasons.
Honestly, I think Starz is to blame. You think of streaming services, Starz wont even crack most people's top 5 platforms. Shame either way, hell of a ride those 3 seasons.
They are drastically different shows with horror properties. Long ass dramas were riding high that whole time. Monster of the week had long had it's last bit of energy drained by Supernatural and even then that's like 50/50 drama and comedy. Cult comedies just aren't money makers.
@@JakobKaine_BrickJAK i get those two shows confused, i watched em around the same time, and theyre pretty similar in tone. I know it might be blasphomy, but i like dr cox a bit better than bruce campbell., as a grumpy "done with it" leading man.

I kind of want to see a virgin version of this drink called the Pink Frick.
I feel like I remember an interview where Bruce was describing how Army of Darkness came about. He said the conversation went
"Hey Bruce, remember those two awful horror movies we made?"
"Yeah..."
"Remember how they were kind of bad?"
"Yeah...."
"Want to make fun of them for 2 hours and make a probably better movie?"
"Fuck yes."
And they made an amazing movie.

I think we need a ”how many drinks” counter in the beginning of an episode showing how many episodes you have filmed already
We should just get a continuous ongoing drink counter that increases every time he takes a sip of anything. At the end of each filming session the drinks he took for those episodes are tallied up and added to the total.
Like My Drunk Kitchen used to be.
"Evil Dead 2" (and even a good portion of "Army of Darkness") is slapstick horror, Sam Raimi took a lot of inspiration from of all sources "The Three Stooges" and even made fan-films inspired by such. A lot of elements of the modern Doom games were inspired by "Evil Dead 2" and a lot of other Sam Raimi's works. Therefore, Doom is slapstick and inspired by "The Three Stooges".
A lot of the glory kills in Doom eternal are definitely slapstick. Like the one on the zombie where the slayer pounds the zombie's head down between its shoulders, or the pop sound when the slayer pulls out the cacodemon's eye
@@josephs3347 Or like how the glory kills for the spider-drone dude and a lot of other enemies are variants of the good, old-fashioned "why are you hitting yourself?"
The windmill scene with mischievous little Ashes is pure gold. Bruce C. is a modern splapstick god.
In another universe this man made a perfect replication to the T, And on camera went on a ketamine fueled rant about how Limp Bizkit was the greatest band of all time
If it was his first time doing ket then it definitely wouldn’t be a rant more like he’d imagine he’s ranting while he’s glued to the floor or a chair staring off into space

Today on how to drink, I met God.
Loved Ash VED. But, when Lucy Lawless and Lee Majors joined the cast, I loved it x10.
The Ash vs Evil Dead series might not have been that great, but I did enjoy seeing Bruce Campbell ham it up as Ash again. He was basically the only reason I kept watching it, noone has charisma quite like that guy.
The only reason to watch Evil Dead is Bruce Campbell anyway. He IS Evil Dead.
I am Bruce
If you haven't seen it, you'll want to.
His oddball role in Burn Notice was also the reason to watch that show!
@@MileHighGrowler I need to watch his shows. I only this year saw Evil Dead 2 and 3 and started watching the show. I'm a new fan of his, but he's already my favorite actor alive.
Seriously. Seeing Bruce really be ash is kind of inspiring it's like the role he was made for, they are intertwined.
If I were to guess, the '2-second pour' probably refers to a pour through a bottle spout, like they use at commercial bars.
Yep, and 2 seconds should be 1 ounce. The spouts are often called a "speed pourer" and they regulate the amount of air that goes back into the bottle, creating a consistent flow of booze. Way back I had a job that required you to prove to the manager that you could nail exactly 2 ounces in a 4 second pour 9 times out of 10 pours every 3 months as part of staff "training".
½ ounce per second through a speed pourer
this is correct
"Proper Bar Knife" is not the worst name for a band or a cocktail I've ever heard tbh.
Would you go as far as to say it’s a...CUT above the rest?
Toobin8r. Thank you for the joke
@@toobin8r I have to say, I didn’t like that one entirely, I recommend to take another stab at it.
In a tangent, I think he should get a machete to fill that role.
what sort of drink would a Proper Bar Knife be? I'm thinking a seriously strong, bitter shot. Maybe Greg will pick up on it
I commend you for trying to stay true to the intentionally bad drink portrayed on the show. Reworking it into something drinkable is genius.
Plus it being bad makes sense, I don’t know about the show cause I ain’t seen it, but in the game, many of the characters express just how awful it is
as someone who has done ketamine in the past, i can report that it's very, very bittler.
but uh... yeah it's not good for going on a roaring rampage of revenge. ketamine is a tranquilizer, and as such it kinda leaves you as somewhat of a potato while it takes effect.
yeahhh can confirm. Also his “taste it” joke as he flicks his nose and then touches his neck. You definitely taste it in your throat as it drips down your sinus, it burns like a mf. in smaller doses it can be kinda stimulating. but anything more and ur sinking into the couch. it’s a weird one. i didn’t really enjoy it. but it is big in the EDM scene so if you like raves you’ll come across it a couple times.
Proper potato for sure. The one time I did it, everyone was essentially glued to the floor.

Hey Adam. Just want to remind you of a very ancient cocktail enjoyed in the Greek empire. It was talked about in the Iliad, the Odyssey and other texts of the time. Famous for its curative nature and that it was a gift of the Gods. I speak... of Kykeon!
Now what I'm about to describe might sound odd, but it is a cocktail and that is what you do on the show. So I hope you'll consider it for an episode. Anyway the main ingredients of this cocktail are: Barley meal, a dark wine, goat or sheep cheese and honey. If you look around you'll probably find a few different ways to make this wine based cocktail, but below I will outline one that I've heard is acceptable.
Use a fortified dessert wine like Port. Cook the barley meal like you were making your own porridge. Then mix the port and meal together till you are happy with the thickness. Then top with feta cheese and honey. Roasted pine nuts can be added as a garnish.
Now I know that sounds like a thick soup or something similar, but it was considered a drink by the Greek.
Who's Adam?
Any soup's a beverage if you don't have a spoon.
I wanna see a mashup with binging with babish!
I think it would be cool to see the movie food show mix with movie drink show and he drinks a lot of bourbon!
Yea I watch Babish alot and honestly if they met, I'd bet they'd be friends.
There already is one from a couple of years ago! Look it up! :)
@@ZoraZoldier omg thank you i love you this is amazing he needs to do it again I am so happy
If they ever met, I'm kinda sure Andrew would make him actually try some ketamine for real (ok, realistically I don't think he actually tried K, he looks more like a "couch and bong" dude).
The Mc Chris reference slayed me! "THE TUSSIN, THE TUSSIN!"

The first Evil Dead movie was filmed in my hometown, Morristown Tennessee

Now I finally know where u live
The cabin was actually mostly wrecked during the filming process so not really

If I had a nickel every time Greg had to put a stand in for ketamine in a drink I'd have two nickels which isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice.

Something about this channel is just so therapeutic for me. I dont really drink but just watching you make them and talk about things you enjoy make me feel happy. Thank you for this.
I really like how it looks like the drink desperatly tries to be pink but turns out orange or red.
Hey Greg you should look into a game called deep rock galactic, it’s a really good mining adventure game. Best part is because you play as dwarves, the game has a ton of cocktails and drinks that you could try and make.
He's played it on his stream.
You could try this again with pink lemonade koolaid powder or something. That’ll get the accurate color AND that burn you’re looking for

without Bruce Campbell, these movies don’t work. no other actor could’ve pulled off that role like he did.
Absolutely 100%
In particular, I think the tonal shift in each subsequent film would not have worked without his excellent performances, and I feel that isn’t hilighted enough. Hail to the king baby!
as a 12 year old at heart I really enjoyed Ash vs Evil Dead, especially season 2. Shame about the cancellation tho...
Gotta be honest, I'm with Greg on this one... I really liked the first season, but it went very much off the rails afterwards. And I practically worship Evil Dead 1 and 2 and Army of Darkness.
I dont really blame the writers though... movies are very easy compared to shows... and basing a show off of films would be really hard to start with much less going more than two seasons.
I enjoyed the show but I felt like it started to get stale in season 3. Best ending to a show that I’ve seen in a long time though!
@@honkytonkinson9787 Yeah, I feel like AvED ran about as long as it needed to. Not every show has the legs to be six seasons and a movie. They were starting to run out of ideas, but it wrapped up before the well ran too dry. There's nothing wrong with that. And I agree, the ending was awesome. (Tho I kinda wish someone would make a game out of the final scene, haha.)
@@jasonblalock4429 I think we did sorta get short changed with the ending, I feel like a tv movie of some kind just resolving everything would have been cool but it's too late now
I absolutely LOVE that you are making this drink.❤ I'm kinda heartbroken you didn't love the tv series like I did. Thank you for coming up with a more friendly recipe to try!
from the UK, thank you for the translation.
Lemonade is different to Sprite over this side of the pond too
Sprite has Lime as well as lemon flavour, it has a very different flavour from carbonated Lemonade.
I think an interesting way to do a "good" version of this with a "ketamine" flavor would be to turn it from a classic cocktail to a Flip.
Probably use a strawberry porter (I know I know, not an ale, but I think you need a higher malt content for this, although I haven't tried it), rum, and instead of demerara I'd go straight for some sorghum. It'll back up the strawberry's citrusy notes, and won't leave it as thick as a milkshake like demerara or molasses would.
I know that's getting a fair ways away from the drink as shown, but I'm trying my damnedest (heh) to get something with a metallic bite that doesn't taste like theater blood.
Mmm, theater blood

Greg, if someone's trying to get into mixology, but running a bit short on money. What should they buy so they can make a variety of drinks while being as cost effective as possible?
He’s made a video on that (don’t remember the name), but essentially: Choose one drink type to start with, buy one or two of those, ie rum or whiskey. Buy the extra ingredients for basic cocktails following that drink next (liqueurs, etc). Buy plant based stuff to use as garnishes or extra flavorants (lemons, herbs, etc). Personal tip: Make your own stuff where you can. Grenadines, bitters etc CAN be made at home and it’s a more cost effective and fun way to arrive at a lot of commonly used brands.
