Pretty good review guys, but you didn't quite nail the sheer good fun sporty nature of the Diavel, maybe you should also have ridden it through some really twisty sections at speed. I've owned mine for four years and still absolutely love it. Sure it's no cruiser, you can flick it through bends just like a sports bike, the grip, braking and handling are fantastic and the acceleration is mind bending. Comfort is excellent. It's the most satisfying bike I've ever owned, and I've been riding for 47 years.
they are yanks dont expect much😆
Still have my ‘15 with termis, sleeper best bike and best Diavel gen ever
10:54 "i think its only a matter of time until they put a v4 in the diavel" "when they put a v4 in this thing, its game over"
watching from may 2023, and lmfaooo
I feel like it's a "sport cruiser' it's a sport first, then a cruiser.
so you don't sacrifice fun but you gain longevity should you wish to go on a road trip that a normal sport bike would murder your hands and lower back on lmao. So really its the best all around bike.
"The Panigale without fairing"
Isn't that what a Streetfighter V4 basically is?
Lol yes, the Diavel is a totally different bike I’m surprised he’d say that. Panigale and street fighter are like professional athletes and the Diavel is like the pro athletes chill dad who is in really good shape but has a bit of a dad bod but will smoke everyone his age and super impressive for his age but is not on the same level as his pro athlete sons who are younger in their prime and world class athletes with no chill 😂
Should've tried an X-Diavel instead.
yup. against the vmax of all bike
VMax would be a good comparison with Diavel not XDiavel so much. VMax has more power but is much heavier. Would be a good comparison
Closest Indian competitor to the Diavel would be the FTR. Neither are cruisers. Both are slightly different takes on a naked bike.
Haven't even watched the video yet but YAAAAAAAAAAAASSS! So glad you're finally doing some Diavel content. Being someone who loves the extremes of both cruisers and supersports I wanna know what you think about it!
Speaking of Italian cruisers, I think an excellent comparison would be with any of the Moto Guzzi cruiser bikes variations of the California.
The Audace. Love mine.
Hey yammie my fellow daytona675 rider. I have a diavel as well and I love them both. The diavel is truly a comfortable super bike. Add the wind screen and luggage in ten minutes and go on a great trip too. I love it. Boy is it fast.
Oh and the better seat
In the 80 Ducati had a go on the “real” cruiser market with the Ducati Indiana... The cruiser market soon showed Ducati that the carbureted Desmo engine was not the best for a cruiser and that they need more than buckhorn handlebars and chrome to make a cruiser...
Why it doesn't feel like a cruiser you ask because it is not a cruiser ducati's cruiser bike is XDiavel not the normal diavel its just a muscle bike not a cruiser
I say the diavel is a laid back naked bike, but the Xdiavel is a cruiser in my opinion, has forward controls, lower seat height, and I think more swept back bars
I had to put the mid-controls on mine, the power, looks and handling work for me but not my feet up in front.
@@duc899 why didn’t you just get a diavel then?
@@toofastnobrakes Good question. I wanted to try it to see if it would "grow" on me. And I was shopping used and it was a pretty decent price. I suppose I was trying to go a different direction after 30 years of sports bikes. Not exactly the fit I was hoping for though. Oh, and I'm really short : )
@@duc899 haha, I hear that. I’ve always kind of stuck to naked/upright bikes, there a great blend of comfort and sportiness. That and I’m on the opposite spectrum as you, I’m very tall. And as much as I love super sports I just can fit on one comfortably 😂
@@toofastnobrakes Live and learn, that's where I'll be on my next bike : )
I love how you pronounce “Diavel” correctly. Classy! Not shitting you.
Why did they not bring up the new Harley Softail Fat Bob, or even the FXDR? Closest thing to a muscle bike Harley has made since the V-Rod. I'm pretty sure it got first place in their "top 7 muscle bikes" video... Did they forget about it?
The production quality of your vids are through the roof. Glad to see you doing so well yammie.
Michelin or Pirellis are needed on a scout. Makes the bike so much better.
It should come like that from the factory
About time :-) Just kidding, guys.I love both of these bikes but my Diavel 1260 is THE finest motorcycle I have ever had the pleasure of owning. The Bad Kitty takes no shit on the road.Glad you two are having fun with this channel and giving some good, experienced opinions for newer and older bikers.Keep it up.
I wish one of the big 4 still made something like the diavel
Vmax is the OG no?
@@rallynfernandes8970 Yep, that bike is cool AF, both the old and the new one. You can never go wrong with a big noisy V4
Vulcan
@ I owned a Vulcan S until recently. Great bike. I can't understand why Yammie and his minion shit on it without ever riding one.
@@rallynfernandes8970 Yammy is a speedy boi, that's a valid reason. I personally prefer the Z900 RS customized to cafe racer but yeah, to each its own. I just hate spec-sheets readers, but I don't think Yammie is one
I feel like you two would LOVE a late 90’s Honda Magna 750. It hauls for a cruiser and handles so well
Great bike.
I’m one that would rather take it to the dealer to fix, but I just got a HD & they charged me $127 just to put passenger pegs on. I was warned about the Harley tax, but dayum.
Lol.... bet you pay $450 for an oil change too
@@caseyjones6316 just got the HD. After what I paid for pegs I’ll just do other services myself.
@@BarnesArcade yeah man hahaha
@@caseyjones6316 If I take my Diavel in for an oil change it's $350.00.
@@merc191 yeah dealers charge a lot in general it’s not just Ducati and HD lol
You need to compare the rocket 3 to the diavel much better comparison
Comparing these two bikes is awesome! Thank you! I just want to mention that I feel nervous every time when I see your head on opposite line in left turns. There could be a car going wide. Please be careful.
That scout must still have the old Kenda's on them. Indian stopped using them. They were just atrocious in the rain.
Yammie could you please make a video on kawasaki zx25r, seriously been waiting for that inline 4 250cc
Yes I agree. I don't think people know too much about it yet. It sure peaks my interest.
I do think that the xdiavel is more like a cruiser cuz it has forward mounted controls
It is optional to have forward or mid mounted controls on xdiavel. But you're right, it is a cruiser. It's even a muscle cruiser, like the rocket 3, vmax, m1800r or even the boss hoss.
@@kennyjohannesson4182
Nah, not optional, but you can indeed buy aftermarket mid-control covertion kit. 🙂
BMW K1600, Honda Goldwing, Are muscle bikes. Honda is so refined after decades of grooming
Common papa Yam. You have to kick a leg over a 2nd gen vmax.1700 it makes 200 hp at the crank and put 185 at the wheel.
Speaking of cruisers yam ide love to see you try a V-max
Hahaha you reminded me of my 70 mustang 351CJ that you felt like you were hitting the high spots on the road at 140 plus!
Diavel is definitely one of the best power cruisers in the game. Prices used are pretty good nowadays too... 1kish every 15k miles (service intervals) though
So costly like a bmw?
Ducati has so many naked (and naked-ish) bikes.
Big power: Streetfighter V4, Monster 1200, Diavel, XDiavel
Medium Power: Supersport, all other Monsters besides 1200, Scrambler 1100
Small power: Scrambler line
There is not "one" Ducati naked bike now, if there was one it would be the Monster. More than half their models are naked bikes. The great thing about the Diavel/XDiavel is it will take a corner when you want/need it to. XDiavel is the closest to a real cruiser Ducati makes. Its way more cruiser looking than the Diavel, and XDiavel has front mounted controls, I do have factory optional mid controls on my XDiavel. Neither handles like a "real" cruiser, and that is a good thing.
I Know that T-Shirt! Destiny 2 Moments of triumph I think is what that event was called.
Guess Spike likes Destiny 2! :p
I mean, the Diavel is not a cruiser but a muscle naked, the XDiavel is Ducati's actual cruiser
When is the zero video coming out?? REEEEEE!!!!!
Next week, we got two 👍🏻
@@yammienoob juicy content plemie lube
Should've gotten the X Diavel. The Diavel is a super naked, not a cruiser. The X Diavel is Ducati's cruiser
Now its time to do a video of the DIAVEL V4 for comparison!!!! You know you want to!!! It is time.....
11:00 well it's game over sers! We have the Diavel V4 now :P
A better comparison would have been with the X Diavel.
I’m a Old School AMI Ducati tec with a 13 Diavel Carbon! With all the computer tec, I drop it off and tell them to fix it too!!
I don’t miss any type street bike and I ride with everybody on everything!!: The 1000cc Super-bike Power Rangers, 600cc Sport squibs, and Harley Bikers... Ok, when the Harley Bikers let me take along; and it more like run ahead, make recon, & reserve a section @ the bar🤷♂️
Nice bike but hard to maintain,.. here in Indonesia only few ppl could afford Ducati or to keep it rolling on the road
Great video! I'd like to see you guys do a comparison between the Ducati Diavel and the new Suzuki Katana.
Yam!! Tire width does not affect grip!! U should know this!! Even with a larger contact patch, it doesn’t change the load on the tire. You are still applying the same down force to wide tire vs a narrow tire.
What you are missing is the direction at which the lowest path of resistance happens. Wider tires purpose is not "grip" but directional resistance.
I love the Diavel. It is more comfortable than most nakeds but is sporty and so fun to ride. the XDiavel is more cruiser with the forward foot pegs/controls and increased rake and looks otherworldly.
Love your videos are informational and funny. Please do a video with some big twin Harley's, not just the Sportster.
I have a 2008 Kawsaki Vulcan 2000 Classic LT and it handles like a much lighter bike for me anyway. I think the rider's familiarity makes a difference. I've been riding a Vulcan 2000 for 4 years now.
Yammie, you've got to throw a leg over a big bore Harley option at least once lol
A screaming eagle 131" or something from Ultima.
I've got an Ultima 113" with 120hp and 120ft lbs in a bike over 700lbs and that 50mph pull looked like weak sauce!
I don't think I can convert you but I think you would be very surprised what these motors can do when you take them out of the comfy factory set-ups.
Yall need to get yoyr hands on the victory octane. Very similar to the scout but a superior machine for sure. My girl has a scout and our friend she has the victory and riding them back to back makes it's a shame that the octane was only around for 1 year.
Yammie! Awesome video! You should try a Vrod on the channel next and possibly compare it to the scout! It would be interesting to see how Harleys attempt at a muscle bike would fare against Indians muscle cruiser!
I was wondering what riding mode you were in? I have a 2013 Carbon (4sale) and a 2020 1260S I freaking LOVE the bike. The 2013 does have a bit of more "brutale" access to power especially in sport mode as the 1260S just seems a bit sanitized, maybe its the quick shifter or linearity of torque and power delivery. But all I can I say is that the Diavel is a really great bike.. Thanks for the great content too...
Fun Fact Papa Yam...both the name Monster and Diavel are in the regional Dialect of Bologna...obviously meaning monster and devil!!
Ducati XDiavel is a proper power cruiser, regular Diavel is more like a big naked bike,at most it's something between a power cruiser and a naked bike (the ergonomics are too sporty for an actual cruiser, which typically have forward or mid controls,as opposed to rear controls like on Diavel).
Now a vmax?
XDiavel best looking cruiser
I would say the Valkyrie of 14-15 is better compared to the diavel. It’s got the power and handling that the scout doesn’t have.
Yammie you should make a video on the new Ducati monster plus.
Loving the production quality
Have both these bikes gen2 diavel and 2016 scout changed suspension on scout to k tech front and rear. And nitron front and rear on diavel. Makes a hell of a difference.. waiting for free spirit brembos for scout.
They're going out the door up to $6k off the price in northern Az.... So tempted just to get it and a starter beater....
Rocket III also has a mid mount model that rides very much like the Ducati as far as riding position . The specs are also very similar , it's what you think a cruiser is if you need forward controls to feel like your on a cruiser then neither is the bike for you plus really they both are really muscle bike more than cruisers anyway .
Would be fun to hear your thoughts about on the xdiavel. As others say its a bit more of a cruiser then the diavel.
Absolutely beautifull motorcycle. So clean, so fast, so elegant. Def. My dream motorcycle
11:50 you mean a Powerlifter :)
What goes like the Diavel? My best guess is Arch.
Will somebody explain to me what a cruiser really is? I just sold my HD Breakout 114 and it is considered a cruiser. It was long and low with a 240 rear tire. The Diavel and Rocket3 are basically the same, except for weight, breaks ,engines and looks. I’m really leaning on the 2023 Diavel1260. Also seems like the only difference between the 1260 and xDiavel is the passenger seat size and position of the pegs and some cosmetic’s?
yeah eventually they put V4 in to Ducati, but everyone looking to go back to L2
The diavel is more sport bike the xdiavel s is the real cruiser there's a video from a ducati dealership breaking down the difference
he ligit looked like he was warping across space tome at 8:51
Interesting review! cant decide if the diavel is cool or the dorkies bike I have ever seen..hm. scout just look so good. But if your thing is that you want your bike to look really big then diavel will do that
XDiavel looks better IMO
I've test ridden a Diavel and a newer Valkyrie... while they big GL looks out of place, it can be hustled a pretty quick pace and is very stable. It would be more compatible to the VMax and Rocket 3 though...
The Ducati Diavel ione of my favorite naked bikes 🏍 I wander did you guys ride it in sport mode ? I also had a K TM super Duke 1290 R was a little lighter and faster but the Diavel looks more like Bulldog on steroids, my wife liked the big sofas seat...
At 50 mph you should have it in 2nd on the scout.
I love the idea of the relaxed standard, but I don’t like huge motors (mpg matters to me). I want a scaled down Diavel with a smaller engine.
Sounds like you're describing a Benelli 502c.
Ahh the diaval looks too sporty for a cruiser in my opinion
When are you going to ride a vmax
Answer to Yammie's questions at 9:00 .....second gen Yamaha V Max
He was talking about the sporty feel and handling. Vmax handles like a truck with flat tyres no where close to how agile the diavel is.
Do you own either bike I own a gen 2 vmax and it handles great the first vmax didn't handle well but to be fair most things in the 80s didn't by today's standards. The Vmax1700 is the king of the muscle bikes all thier is to it well until Kawasaki puts the h2 motor in a cruise
@@alterchristopher Again he was talking about how sporty it feels and there are no cruisers like that. On the twisty road, Diavel would easily pull away from Vmax.
I test rode 2014 gen 2 Vmax out of Yamaha dealership and the handling was not good at all the steering feels very heavy.
@@Fearless154 I will give you the steering being a little heave maybe at lower speeds. But considering how well I keep up with my sport bike friends I dont see the Ducati walking me. I have never owned or ridden the Ducati but I dont consider it a cruiser its a fat naked bike to me. Lastly to be fair I'm a cruiser guy I have to remind my self that yami is doing the opposite of me he is going from a light wieght track oriented bike to a much heavier bike where I went from a FXDR and V-Rod to the Max so to me it handles perfectly has great power and I can comfortably ride it 600 miles in a day
@@alterchristopher
When I say Diavel will run away from Vmax I'm talking about the bike's ability and not casual friends ride.
Put two very capable riders against each other one on the Vmax and another one on the Diavel and the Diavel will easily win be it on the track or full street Rossi style.
When I ride with my friends I'm not trying to race anyone on the street we are just having fun on the nice canyon roads.
We are only racing on the track.
Also, Xdiavel has forward controls of a standard cruiser the only Diavel has mid controls.
I'm not saying Vmax is bad I'm just saying when Yamaha made it the handling wasn't their priority.
TRIUMPH ROCKET 3 is the ULTIMATE, Herculean Crusier. 165 horsepower and 160 pound feet of torque. Then Vmax, XDiavel , and Super Duke GT(180 horsepower/104 foot pounds)
You guys lost sooooo much respect calling the Diavel a cruiser. xDiavel is the Ducati cruiser with 1296cc. Feet forward cruiser.
i thought these view ropes look familiar i live like 20 minutes from here fun place to ride especially when dry
I need some advice from yammi or fello viewers: I’m 16 and planning on getting my license in the spring, and I’m torn on what class of bike to get. For a while I was set in the 300-400cc class of bikes but I started looking into the 650cc class and I like the ergonomics and looks of the ninja 650/z650 I have owned dirt bikes but they were 125cc four strokes, I leaned how to shift and use a clutch and I was comfortable at higher speeds when I took it on the road the odd time (70-80km/h for that bike it was fast) please let me know your guys opinion I’m struggling thanks.
Id say a ninja 650 isn't a bad starter bike, just use common sense. Don't speed and try to be a street rossi, ride like no one can see you (defensively), always look into the turn where you want to go. If you come into a turn too hot dont panic brake, just lean harder and look where you wanna go. Always be on top alert at intersections and parking lots. Be safe.
@@johnathandk42134 thanks man I’ve heard a couple people say we long as you respect the bike you should be fine
If you already have some experience on a 125 dirt bike, you should be ok on a 650,just ride carefully.
Harley’s engine is so tall that the foot pegs had to be moved forward as limited lean angle anyway.
What
How many pots did you take?
Progressive fork springs and heavier oil fixes the scout.
Both of those bikes sound amazing.
The Indian is a “Naked” bike too. What are you talking about? I put 500 miles on my Diavel in a day no problem. Plenty good enough to classed as a “cruiser”. You’ve just never ridden a good cruiser before. They usually suck and don’t handle well and have no top end. Cruisers usually have crap brakes too.
You guys need to get a m109r on the channel.
How’s xdiavels compared to new Suzuki katana model?
Yam, could you pleaaaase do a why you should buy a diavel 1260s
You should really try the Vulcan S.
Harley’s need extra torque cuz of the weighr
Spite is in filling mode?? Ain't that cold down in Texas tho...😅
Wrong bike. It should be an X-Diavel.
The Diavel 2011-2018 doesn’t have Panigale DNA it does have the 1198 DNA
Great vid
The 2013 is not as good as the new one but still a good video
Compare it to the new CBX1000. REAL TALK. And bro the 1986 max was one if the sickest bike's it changed the game
For me if it has a cruiser position it's a cruiser. You can cruise on any bike even if it has 200hp.
Is that the 60 horsepower motor in the scout....? My scout bobber moves a lot faster than that pulling from 4th or 5th....
The new V4 is on its way for this
Turbo Busa @6:32
