One of my go to budget bourbons is Very Old Barton 100pf.
I’ve heard Very Old Barton is really good for the money. Hopefully it will be available where we live someday.
You gotta have Old Forester 100 with these. Other Small Batches from Larceny, Elijah Craig are good beginners. Clyde Mays for $28 is another. Woodford Reserve is a must for a noob. While I love Makers 101 they need to price it with WT 101 to compete for my $.
OF 100 is a good pour for sure. Never tried Clyde Mays, but for the price, I just might. We just aren’t the biggest fans of lower proofer wheater’s, Larceny included. In a blind I did a few years back, the Elijah Craig Small Batch did beat the 1783, but not by much. Balcones Bourbon beat them both though. The reality is there are a bunch of good budget options if you stick with legacy distilleries. Thank you for the spot on suggestions!
Have had the WT101 and the Benchmark Full proof. Love the Turkey, the Full Proof seems to change with every taste, but I like it. Will try mixing it with the Benchmark Bonded
Wild Turkey 101 really is a great bourbon, and great to use in blends as well.
I love the ogd 114 try the rebel 100 I really like it to
I’ll have to give the Rebel 100 a try. Thanks for the suggestion!
I am also not the biggest fan of Buffalo Trace, I use it in freezer door old fashioned lol.
Yeah, I don’t understand the hype around it, except for the fact it is made by Buffalo Trace. Never had or heard of a freezer door old fashioned. What is it?
You guys are awesome thank you for the shout out. I love the end of the video when you tripped a bit holding the two bottles. All of these bottles are amazing and I think I own all of them but the Pendleton and I enjoy them all.
Thank you Dan! They are really good especially for the money. We haven’t forgotten about the Texas whiskeys you gave us. We’ll be doing a Throw-Down soon.
@@TheDramDiaries My 8 year old son was like no way you are You Tube Famous Now Dad. Haha
@DanDaWhiskeyMan82 Ha! That's awesome!
I like benchmark top floor better then full proof. 2 more to consider would be OF 100 and jim beam black 7yr.
If the Benchmark and Jim Beam 7ur become available in Oregon, we will definitely try them out. Old Forester 100 is a very good option too. Thanks for the suggestions!
Watched to the end hoping to see OGD 114, fairly new to bourbon and loved it from the first pour. Also, Heaven Hill bib at $39 is a favorite of mine for cheaper options, great video!
OGD 114 is one of the best value bourbons. Getting Heaven Hill BIB for $39 is awesome. In our state it’s a $50 bottle unfortunately. Thank you for watching!
Stop saying “you’d actually drink” after every bottle. I hope you’d be recommending bourbons you actually like. Lol
Hah! I rewatched the video and I do say that! Umm, I was just using repetition for emphasis 😉
