Agree. I had the original oberhiem dx, roland 808 & linndrum back in the 80’s. Though they were good machines but I wouldn’t pay crazy prices for one of them today. They are plenty of vst’s & good reproductions of these drum machines out t there.
Behringer brings in all the legends its amazing. And i didnt know this. So even better surprise. Its gonna sound awesome and hopefully they add a few extras
Technically the Linn Drum was the second, more affordable iteration of the LM-1 and from my understanding is the machine they're "cloning" given that the Behringer design is more akin to the Linn Drum. It has to be said that both of them came with different samples (and hardware) and as a consequence sounded different. Now I'm hoping that the LMDrum will come with samples from both machines as I prefer the sound of the LM-1. Just google LM-1 vs LinnDrum see (and hear) the difference.
Yes sir. I've been waiting for the Lm Drum for the last few years. That is a definite buy for me. I predict that the price will be $399 to $439 USD at the most. I'm good with that price. It still beats the price on most drum machines by other companies that are currently out right now.
How have you come up with that price? Is it based solely on what you want to pay? And will you complain online if Behringer can't get it in that range?
@GaraGaraVideo Me personally, I won't complain about the price. If the price isn't there for me, then I'll wait for someone else to buy it, not like it, and they'll sell it for cheap. Last time I did that, just last year, I bought a 6 month old Poly D with the box and manual (including the Behringer sticker) for $300 USD cash. I already had one, but for the price, I couldn't let it sit there.
Maybe a stupid question but do you think I can connect it to my Roland Juno-60 and controll the arpeggio? If I play Italo disco, I want the octave bass to follow the beat. I know this is possible with the original Linndrum.
One of the reasons the original LM-1 is so highly valued is because they only made 525 units. no telling how many still work in 2024. its about scarcity and what the market will pay. That's that case with most old synths and pro audio gear. they didnt make 100,000 units in the 1970s and 80s. they made a few hundred by hand. They are rare artifacts from the past that became part of music history. Same story for old Neve consoles and rare microphones. how many were made and how made hits were made on it defines the value.
I've watched vids on the luma, and it is impressive in its quaility. but I would like to have more than just a clone. more features, load samples, etc.

I been using my 1002 and its been fantastic just sick if having to plug in and out all the time. 😂 How many synths u got ? How many need stereo? And do u use effects pedals?
I'm running an x2442usb that I picked up used on the cheap, it's cool because with all the busses and sends, I can route signals to my Tannoys, my wedges or my interface, makes monitoring and recording a breeze. The onboard fx are pretty mediocre but between auxes and inserts, it's easy to run external effects and compression. I'll still run out of channels before long, but I'm shifting focus more toward eurorack, so not a real problem right now. YMMV, of course.
