    Behringer is the only synth manufacturer in history that provides more content for videos about unreleased synths than actually releasing synths

    • @Lamster66
      @Lamster66 Год назад +2

      Indeed but when the content isn't about a currently availible product it's usually about something they are working on or have in development.
      It's no secret that Behinger are copying or cloning other peoples equipment.
      Whether or not some of the delayed releases are down to legal reasons or whether they simply haven't finished developing the products is something we as the consumers are unaware of.
      I was absolutely certain Moog would sue over the release of the Model D. Until it was pointed out that the Patent had likely expired.
      Many of the synths they are recreating or promising to make used IC and other LSI technology that is long obsolete. Meaning they either have to alter the design or attempt to remanufacture long dead technologies. Either way they could claim some of the IP for that.
      In the electronics industry this type of reverse engineering is often called "Black Boxing"
      Essentially what the term refers to is a circuit that produces the same resulting output without necessarily employing the same circuitry to do it.

    • @Lamster66
      @Lamster66 Год назад

      @@AndyBondo
      Well as you are talking out of you arse I'd better put you right.
      Firstly I've been playing keyboards for about 45 years
      And I've either played or owned just about every vintage synth you could think of. and my day job is an electronics tech so did you want to carry on telling me what you don't know?
      I've more than likey repaired more synths than you could even imagine sonny!
      And no numbskull the technology was based on silicon transistors, albeit large scale integration onto custom ics, but as far as the electronics industry is concerned. we still use silicon technology.
      As it happens there are a few companies that have been remanufacturing The SSM and CEM chips that most 80s analogue synths were built from, for quite a few years now. So no, its really not dead technology
      As for the Minimoog It uses a matched transitor pair for each oscillator, and the ladder filter is hand matched transistors. Bearing in mind that we are now a darn sight better at making reliable components than in the 1970s and 80s building a minimoog is pretty straight forward in fact moog did it a few months after behringer released their modelD the difference was about 3K but sonically very little.
      Had you ever owned a minimoog and been able to play it you'd know that the behringer can make all the right noises.
      Having also owned a SC Pro1 back in the day the behringer one for under £200 does a pretty good emulation..
      Now here's the final point, It doesn't matter who makes your synths if, you can't play and your songs are crap. So wishing you could buy a better synth to improve you music ain't going to happen. Ps The 3 behringer synths I've got are just an addition to the other 40 or 50 synths I've got, and when I get bored I've got just about every plugin you can think of to run on my DAW. Having the right sound isn't a problem for me.
      So what exactly was it you think you know, that you need to share so badly?
      Go back to sleep, it's way past your bedtime junior

    • @Lamster66
      @Lamster66 Год назад +1

      I have to agree.
      Sorry in advance this will very like be quite long!
      I started playing synths in about 1982 and my first synth was a second hand Jen SX1000 which cost me £100 from my local music shop soon followed by an SH101 I swapped for an Electric Guitar that i didn't want and a KorgKPR77 drum machine my mate was selling for £30. I bought Juno 6 and 60 had a pro one poly 800 and then got a QX5 Midi sequencer which then meant I needed a DX100 and a CZ101 for midi bass which replaced the Sh101 ( because it wasn't midi) for Bass and the KPR77 was sacked in favour of an RX11
      Then I got a Kawai K3 DX7 and a K1 so the Junos got sold ( for peanuts) and I practically gave my other Sh101 poly800 CS15 and DK80 away. And carried on buying various workstations and other digital synths and modules until I boxed it all of it up at the end of the 90s when I got married and had kids.
      Fast forwarding to 2001 I discovered VST5.1 and used that then I unboxed all the gear repaired what didn't work and started to intergrate ITB and OTB Then I discovered ebay ( and found that my £1000s of digital synth were now worth nothing.) not to worry though neither were anybody elses so a great oppertunity to buy all those expensive synth I couldn't afford in the 90s.
      I scored a mint JD800 for £300 and a K2000 for £190 then I caught GAS. In those days you could still buy lesser know or undesirable analogue poly synths like AX60 73 Poly 61 and JX3 8 and10 for between £50 and £100. I bought and sold several non working Korgs and Rolands Fixed them and Sold for profit as I literally couldn't believe people would pay me for what was essentially junk.And then In about 2014-15 analogue prices started to rocket.
      All of a sudden even those undesirable crappy synths were demanding ridiculous prices. And I thought I'd more than likely bought my last cheap synth.
      Well I was wrong I just had to buy a ModelD, Pro1, and deepmind 12 I paid less for those combined than I did for my Nord Electro.
      So whilst with hindsight I regret seling all my analogue gear in the 90s for next to nothing and buying digital gear that was also pretty worthless. ( purely as a finacial standpoint)
      I did manage to trade up most of my Digital synths with Flagship models very cheaply and buy quite a lot of analogue synths that nobody knew about for next to nothing Buying behringer analouge synths to replace synths I gave away in the 90s for the super low prices they sell at is a no brainer.

    I'd love to see a self-designed sequencer / groove box by Behringer. Something like a Digitakt or MPC, but with their own ideas and a Behringer-original workflow and interface. Kind of what the Neutron is on the synth field, but for groove boxes.

      That was actually missing from this video. Behringer had announced the JAM which is supposed to be an MPC style groove box. Like most things Behringer no word on whether it actually exists. Sometimes I think they like to just troll other manufacturers. That being said the chip shortages have really affected a lot of sectors so it’s hard to say what the real deal is.

    I'd prefer the keyboard versions, but I BARELY had room for the Poly-D that I just received yesterday, so I guess I'll have to settle for the desk-top versions. The Poly-D is my first hardware analog synth, so I think that will keep me busy for some time to come. I'm satisfied with the V Collection for those other synths, so Behringer can keep taking their time as far as I'm concerned.

    I believe the Pro16 could actually be considered like an upgraded version of the dual manual prophet 10 feature set as I recall that Behringer mentioned that it would be multi timbral (= different sounds for different midi channels). That alone would make it better value for money than the re-released P10 (which now does layer and split but nothing midi related).

Their first analogue synth (Deepmind 12) was only released in 2017. That’s quite the output in just 5 years.
