This is brilliant. Im doing a reno and knew this was possible reasonably easily. But your video is only one ive seen to show from a blank floor. Brilliant thank you.
Your family is very lucky to have such a wonderful father/husband. Thank you for sharing your videos, you've done an incredible job and transformed a not so beautiful house into a beautiful home. I'm sure you'll be doing more updates both indoors and out.
I haven't done a lot of woodworking lately either. So this was a really rewarding project. Not only because I got to make sawdust for a weekend, but more that I am leaving a bit of myself in this house through my craftsmanship.
Any increase in height is safer, but this design may not be “tall enough” for code. It’s definitely not up to current code for spacing, but it’s no worse than the original. I’m not a contractor so it wasn’t my goal to pass code.
This a great idea for our iron railings in our 50 year old house we renovated except for the original iron railings, we looked at replacing them but did not want to spend $12k for all new updated railings, I would love to see how you did the railings on the stairs as we have the same railings going up our open stair case to the 3rd level, I’ll look for another of your postings to see how this was done!
Looks Great Chris...love it. Actually been wanting to do this with my porch railings. Assume I'd have to use pressure treated wood. You make it look easy my friend.
It looks really good. But there's one thing you should check in that is if between your railing uprights you can't have a 4in ball pass through it. It's by code
Yeah it’s not compliant for spacing by today’s standards. But neither was the old one, obviously. We were more concerned about height. The original felt like you could easily fall over it. This one is much better.
Hi there, your amazing and I’m just starting up my own little workshop and getting started on my own home sometime this year and your videos have give me lots of ideas and inspiration and thank you 😊👍
Love the look. I have similar railings so I did the same to mine. Thank you for the idea. Only thing is I’m remodeling to sell my home so I won’t get to enjoy the look. As someone mentioned the spacing needs to be 4 inches which only matters if your selling, (I know your not selling) In my case, I added plexiglass that the trim is holding in place which meets safety code. Would rather weld extra rods in but don’t know how to weld. Wish I could share a pic to show you the final product. 👍🏼 thank you again
Hey could you record a video from your pool now, to have a rough idea of the glass performance after many many cycles? Like talking avout his performance , if you recommend that would be nice.
@@handydadtv then in final of may can you do a video, its because i want to change the sand to glass but i dont have sure if improves the water clarity and quality that they say

Great Job, Railing looks FANTASTIC
Thank you
The rail looks great. A nice blend of retro with the black iron and modern with the white.
Thanks!
This is great! Same situation in my home and I want to keep the railing but update so that it’s up to code and safer

The nice thing about black railings is that they disappear when you look through them, much nicer than a bright colour that way.

Greeting from the Netherlands. Its beautifullll
I've been to Amsterdam! Thanks so much!
Chris kudos to your wife for the railing idea. Looks GREAT! When is "HandyMomTV" debuting? I look forward to and enjoy all your videos.
lol she's camera shy
Beautiful 🌻
Thank you 😊
OMG!
👍🏻
Do you have another daughter LOL. You are excellent!
Julie is the oldest of 3 kids. The others don’t have homes. Yet...
This is a great idea. How did you screw through the iron rail on the bottom?
I drilled holes before spray painting it.
Did you ever make a second video of showing how you did the railing going down the stairs?? I can't locate it thank you.
Unfortunately no. The rest of the railing is still not done.
That's a handsome railing
Thanks
So pretty
Thanks 😊

The pool? It’s covered for the winter. Won’t be open until May.

In ur intro u should also say " and had kids. "
What is the price to have this done?
I couldn’t say. I work for free.
i really like it, but I think it is a bit bulky.
Definitely chunky, but it works in their big foyer.
Unbelievable
Thanks
