    Great idea on reusing the iron railing. Just another idea…. The bottom post could have been left as 3 sided with one side open to allow access to install a wood support insert like you did on the top posts. Then the 4th side installed afterwards. Either way good work

      Upstairs was the prototype (or proof-of-concept). But I’ve been procrastinating the rest of it for a year because I knew how complicated it would be. I spent many sleepless nights over-thinking the design, and I’m really glad it’s done!

    I could be mistaken, but is that 12mm laminate flooring mixed with wood stair treads shown @ 0:10?

    • @handydadtv
      @handydadtv  2 года назад +1

      Yes. We used the laminate in the basement and had extra to replace tile on the landing inside the front door. My daughter bleached the oak steps to better match the laminate. ruclips.net/video/m9acPLofzFw/видео.html

      @@handydadtv Wow awesome. Thank you so much for getting back to me. I've been looking for feedback from people that have mixed wood on the stairs with laminate on floor, but haven't found anything. I hate the look of laminate stair treads. I'm thinking about doing this. Just wanted to make sure that it looked right and not choppy, with consideration to resale.
