- 2002 Bristol Night Race final 11 laps where Jeff Gordon uses the bumper to move past Rusty Wallace in the late stages of the race. Includes post-race interviews, which are always fun after the bump and run. Get rid of the dirt and run at night on the pavement. Let the drivers create excitement.
I’ll never forget this night, screaming at the tv when the 24 closed the distance. That rear shot of Rusty’s car with the Du Pont logo bumping his ass out of the way. Good times, much simpler times.
Did you notice a bump and run not a hit and crash. Big difference from racing now. I like the old style.
Most drivers even back then hit guys harder then that this was the cleanest bumb and run ever
Two legendary drivers, notice no one else was involved, no one wrecked or lost other positions. Drivers today need to watch these films as training.
Compare this race to what it’s become just 20 years later. Tough to see, I wonder if we will ever see another golden age of nascar?
Nope the golden Era died in the 2001 daytona 500. There's a disconnect between the fans and drivers no personality no story etc
Nope. Because I don’t watch any more.
Nope, to much politics
stop living in the past, nascar racing is still great
@@muckbangers1890 Wut?
Loved seeing this cause growing up I was a huge Jeff Gordon fan #24
One of the best Bristol races and Jeff Gordon ended his winless streak at the track.
You see what NASCAR use to be and now. Stands all around the track filled up and racing was great.
Smoke once said " If I let them catch me they earned the right to move me".
Rusty is a class act glad we had him out there giving good memories!!
Vintage Gordon.
What happened back then can't be duplicated. It just happened .
I was there, it was awesome 👍🇺🇸
I was there! Left $100 in shirts under my seat 😂
I found $100 in shirts that night!
i miss these days
At the time, I was a Rusty fan. This still hurts to this day.
Two champion drivers. Nowadays you’d have the whiny “I owe him one now” or the crews fighting.
I WANT BRISTOL BACK!
I want INDY back the way it was as well!
@@jimduffy6767Your wish has been granted. The Brickyard 400 will return this July. 160 laps, 400 miles. 4 corners on a rectanglular circuit. It will no longer be a road course this time.
Funny part is compared to what the drivers do to each other now, this was about as clean as it could get
I remember this quite well I’m a Jeff fan and my ex a rusty fan
The GOAT 24
Jarred Ashley, FALSE. Dale Earnhardt Sr was the greatest racecar in NASCAR history. Jeff Gordon was/is a cheater. Same for Richard Petty and Jimmie Johnson. Dale Sr was NOT a cheater.
@@sergeantmasson3669 ok boomer
@@jarredashley3426 WTF have you ever done for the USA and world freedom, PUTZ. Guaranteed that you wouldn't have the stones to say that to my face, WIMP.
He didn’t get nailed and turned sideways. He got a bump and Gordon left him.
2:33 is that where Pixar got that sound byte from?
We May Never See Racing Like This Ever Again Where Lap Cars May Factor The Outcome
Full packed house we'll never see again
My goodness I miss a crowd like this. Get rid of the banking and go back to this!!!!
Master driving by jeff.
LTJ Jenkins, Jeff Gordon was/is a cheater.
@@sergeantmasson3669 yup. And he was the only driver in nascar history to do so...
@@ltjjenkins I didn't state that. Richard Petty and Jimmie Johnson were cheaters also as is HMS.
@@sergeantmasson3669 I guess you forgot when Dale Sr did this to Terry Labonte and wrecked him 3 years before this at the same race, lol
Go Jeff Gordon
Gordon was faster. In two laps he gapped Rusty. Rusty was guarding the bottom, so 24 had to move him to get by.
Imagine, widening, and re paving bristol 😳
Back when the sport was awesome
Right tire is not spinning. Maybe that was their trick. (Traction control controversy) maybe that was the trick not tc. Something in the diff instead to put more power to the LR. The right will always break grip first on an oval. I’m a Gordon fan and respect the ingenuity, not throwing shade.
Something like that at short tracks is a huge advantage where saving the RR is huge, could explain Gordon’s dominance at short tracks especially in that era.
If you're talking about when he is doing the burnout that is simply the banking on the straight away pitching the rear of the car which is pretty common.
Likely, Hendrick cars have always had ways of being the best cheated up cars.
@@WastdTrashPanda What's that old adage? If you ain't cheatin, you ain't tryin
@@JesseLeeHumphry*you ain’t winning
Jeff Gordon never dared to mess with Dale Sr. Ray Evernham often told Jeff Gordon to stay away from the #3 car.
They fought the hell out of each other a ton.
The incident you're talking about happened once.
Now that’s Bristol no dirt crap
It's only right, a Chevrolet wins at Bristol.🏁🏁🏁
Rick Taylor, no automakers build any NASCAR race cars/trucks. Not even the engines. They never did.
I was sitting in the stands with my Batsuit on, in the Darell Waltrip section. Row 38
Jeff always cried when someone bumped him but he never had a problem doing it.
Did you hear Rusty complaining after the race???? Did you also remember he bumped both Kenseth AND Harvick to take the lead before Jeff did it to him? Every driver complains buddy
If you’re referring to the Kenseth or Bowyer incidences, there’s a significant difference between bumping and dumping/wrecking someone
Jim vision, Gordon never cried because nobody ever got near him.
@@jasonjgr8580 you wish
@@bigboy3jv Gordon beat Earnhardt many times . Had more Daytona 500 wins.
