holy shit so relatable! Since AMSP was released I just listened Daydreaming and True Love Waits, but now I´m discovering how to appreciate the Album and as you said, it´s joining the rest of their creations as a classic piece of audible art in my life!
Besides the Beatles and theyre starting to give the Beatles a run for best band ever. I saw Noel Gallagher talking shit about Radiohead recently. But really what else does Noel Gallagher do? Radiohead is light years ahead of Oasis. The whole Britpop thing was between Oasis and Blur because everyone knew Radiohead were and are vastly superior. Noel Gallagher can go aim his bullshit at Coldplay or something because Radiohead are untouchable.
It's because this performance seems so effortless, yet so perfect. Has to be one of the best of its kind ever. I can't stop replaying it, has to be nearing 100 plays for me ! I prefer it to the album version.

Beautiful magic . . . both do equal amount of work and get it done so perfectly. It's almost insane. I think they are both from outer space. With a good pair of headphones you can hear the trees blowing in the background, which is ....just fine.
Jonny is amazing. I love the way he just lets the sound seep in at first, just almost praying. When Thom says "hit me" he comes to life (physically) hits the CR78 he taps the side first in the beat of the song then clicks. Pure magician.
i've watched this an unhealthy amount of times imagine if you were just going for a hike and you saw them recording this. I would have died of excitement

Frank De Ruiter My guess is that you hear Johnny’s E string that is tuned down two whole steps. The tuning for this song is CGCFAD. There is no bass guitar on this. Just 2 guitars, drum machine, and Jesus.
Evertime I listen to a song from Radiohead I've never heard before, it becomes a song I'm mesmerized by. It also happened when I watched Ozark and Decks Dark played. The scene, the song and the build-up to that point in the episode was epic.
I specifically love that you CAN see the dolly track in these shots. This isn't about pretty pictures, it's about capturing an amazing performance and the mood.
I almost can't believe this was recorded outside, with a slight breeze. amazing sound engineering. not to mention the beautiful performance between these rock and roll gods
I don't understand this having over two thousand dislikes? This is one of my favorite videos on RUclips. As has been noted by countless others, the audio quality of this recording is impeccable. When Jonny comes in, in the left channel, it just gives me chills. And then you have the beautiful setting. And of course, a wonderful song. I think it is faultless. "People have this power. The numbers don't decide."

Wholly agreed--and inspiring when you phrase it that way. I know we all have dreams but many of us are afraid to pursue them because we worry about the future and the practicality of our dreams. But if we see the future as something that's within our control, its empowering :3
rockmonst3r the future will never actually come to pass, we are the present. any ideas of the future happening can only be determined by each of us individually, not from time actually passing. just being aware of this means that being in fear of death/loss/anxiety etc is baseless when the future is going to happen regardless, we don't have control of the reality others have but we can be the masters of our own.

Peak Thom Yorke voice for me. These two are insane together. Would love to hear The Smile do this version of the song.
love the bassline on the album version. its killer

peak Thom voice was 97/98. he's still good as n old man though
Its still crazy to my Jonny has had the same hairstyle for over 40 years.
It's crazy he still has the hair to pull that hairstyle off for over 40 years. Meanwhile, we have men in their early 20's going bald these days.
Greenwood is a genius, most under appreciated musician going.
His solo albums are great.
Underappreciated by whom?? Those that don't know music? Greenwood is regarded as one of the best guitarists of this generation.
I know Greenwood
I agree, he is a genius but he is in no way under-appreciated. Rolling Stone ranked him the 49th best guitarist of all time, he has scored amazing movies, he has worked with the likes of Aphex Twin, Brian Eno, Frank Ocean, MF Doom, and he is in one of the most critically acclaimed bands of all time. He is in no way under appreciated.

Must be nice to be able to have Paul Thomas Anderson direct your RUclips videos

Their talent kills me. It's insane. What a gift to have them...beautiful art!
i agree. mankind does not deserve these artistic geniuses.
a baby scribbling on a piece of paper can be art if indeed you can see it that way.
Thom's voice sounds so good here.
When a Moon Shaped pool came out i added it to my Radiohead collection without checking out any of the tracks as i already knew i would think some of them would probably be a bit weird and a bit cooky at first but after a few listens i would see the genius and each track would calmly join the rest of their creations as a classic piece of audible art in my life. Everyone should have their opinion and in mine Radiohead are the Greatest band of all time.
Right!!
Well said my man
holy shit so relatable! Since AMSP was released I just listened Daydreaming and True Love Waits, but now I´m discovering how to appreciate the Album and as you said, it´s joining the rest of their creations as a classic piece of audible art in my life!
Just as TKOL, it grows in you...
I keep coming back to this version of the song every now and then. I find it so soothing and relaxing.
It's because this performance seems so effortless, yet so perfect.
Has to be one of the best of its kind ever. I can't stop replaying it, has to be nearing 100 plays for me ! I prefer it to the album version.
Thom Yorke used to buy candies at my grocery when he was a little kid. what a pleasure for an old man to sit and listen to him as a grown up artist..anyway, thank you for reading my lie

One thing doesnt deny the other. You can say "This is pure beauty" and Im pretty sure no one is gonna think you dont love the albums.
Like Wine Like Water Im from 68.
Love the energy that Jonny brings to the song with his flowing, repetitive riffs/sequences. Just great.
Jonny is amazing. I love the way he just lets the sound seep in at first, just almost praying. When Thom says "hit me" he comes to life (physically) hits the CR78 he taps the side first in the beat of the song then clicks. Pure magician.
i've watched this an unhealthy amount of times

I worry about Jonny getting bad neck pain when he's old. These are the kinds of things I worry about.
I think he is ready to pay the price...
I often wonder how he hasn't given himself scoliosis by now

Perhaps he isn't subject to mere mortal failings like age or skeletal conditions. He hasn't physically changed since Pablo Honey.

geez, this is engineered well - sounds like a studio
I wish more live performances were recorded this well.
Because It's Pre-Record. They Already Record This Song At The Studio Before Taking The Video. It's Almost Frustating Have Almost No Reverb With The Recorded Song At A Place Where's No Walls Around Them
Frank De Ruiter My guess is that you hear Johnny’s E string that is tuned down two whole steps. The tuning for this song is CGCFAD. There is no bass guitar on this. Just 2 guitars, drum machine, and Jesus.
A CR-78, two guitars, one mic, how hard can it be? I hear some clipping to be honest, I like it but it’s not rocket science.
@@bagaswahyuillahi6009 Nah. I don't think it's pre-recorded.
Evertime I listen to a song from Radiohead I've never heard before, it becomes a song I'm mesmerized by. It also happened when I watched Ozark and Decks Dark played. The scene, the song and the build-up to that point in the episode was epic.
Director: Paul Thomas Anderson
Dolly Track: Visible
I specifically love that you CAN see the dolly track in these shots. This isn't about pretty pictures, it's about capturing an amazing performance and the mood.
Recording produced and mixed by Nigel Godrich, what a legend
Constantly reinvents himself each record Radiohead does, and that’s truly an accomplishment. Applies a whole new vision to match these two’s visions.
absolute perfection. the emotions it brings out in me are incredible. that is what music should do.

powerful, but in many ways very true. Create your own path - 'one day at a time'
Wholly agreed--and inspiring when you phrase it that way.
