No matter how long Thom chooses to compose and perform songs, let's all just appreciate he wasn't another musical genius that died young or went mad. What a gift for history that this creature has given us roughly 30 years of impossibly beautiful music.
We'll put, I entirely agree.
here here
well, he kinda went mad, but he usually bounces back
*HEAR! HEAR!* And, he has never gone 'mad'. He has always been on point with the political and environmental climate of the time for every solo album and a few Radiohead albums. Hail to the Theif was a nod to Bush stealing the presidency from Gore and hanging chads.
He has stated so in several late night TV interviews.
@@Davidwood15 I responded to your mad comment. However, put it in the wrong spot. Whoopsie. It's Monday.
Thank you for existing, Thom.
I reckon he is the last true genius left on earth

Such a joy to see someone doing exactly what they were meant to do. I am in awe.

King of Limbs just keeps looking better in retrospect with every live version of its songs.
The originals were very tightly produced. Almost too tight. The live versions breathe nicely.
Except for Feral
That song still sucks
He’s a gift of comfort to conscious folk.
@@RealJeffTidwell Was just talking to someone about this last week. I find myself always listening to the Basement versions.
The glasto version of lotus flower is amazing, just as this is. People will talk about this music in 100 years time and I am glad to be around when it was being made.
The genius of this man is beyond belief. I know many people who don't now or ever will understand Radiohead. For me, It's like listening to an abstract painting, you either are moved to your core by it or you are not. There really is no in between.
💯
I’m moved
Oh my god! You get this, you do!!
I actually find them exactly like a painting. Something beyond music expressing itself through music as a medium. It can take up many forms but it's one simple truth.
Absolutely fucking beautiful! Perfect description!💞
i am in love with this version. i think it’s even better than the original
100% agree its way better than the original
Différent. The live version with the whole band is very good also.
Without a doubt, this is so blissful once peeled back
So much better
Agree. It feels more emotional, simple and raw. The loop makes it sound like there are two realities in the song.
I want waterproof phone& headphones just to listen to this song when I am floating in the sea. I can actually visualize myself doing that right now. I love you Thom.

I once passed Thom Yorke in the street. We made eye contact for a moment that felt like forever, then continued on our separate ways. That must have been ten years ago, but here I am still talking about it. I feel blessed just to have shared but the briefest of connections with this man.
I think just a brief moment of eye contact with Thom Yorke the perfect way of meeting him.
He's probably glad you didbn't talk to him lol
You are so lucky! Where was this?

Kudos to the audio engineers. I'm wearing headphones and this sounds fucking amazing.
Yeah, this is fooking SPECTACULAR!
Does anyone happen to know what year this was recorded?
Me too
Playing it in my car, agreed!
The crescendo at the end is just amazing on headphones. You feel like you are inside the eye of a tornado of sound
If I ever meet Thom Yorke someday, I'm going to hug him and tell him that I'm alive because of him.
I don't know how I would deal with certain phases of my life if I didn't have Radiohead's music to fall back on at the end of the day. I want to express my lifelong gratitude and appreciation for that to Thom myself in person, someday.
Very few artists understand lonely people really well. Thom Yorke is definitely one of them.
I absolutely agree a feel the same way
Yep. Me and the wife said the same thing recently. Got me through my Army career from '93 to '01 and everything since. Always evolving, always pioneers. Peerless.
Likewise. I don't know how I would've got through without them. Genuinely. It felt like I wasn't alone for the first time when I found them at 11 years old. Peace and love to you x
Damn .. I wish you nothing but good fortune on your future

Am I the only one who thinks the entirety of King of Limbs is waaaaaaay underappreciated.
Nope, it's a stunner
It's my favorite Radiohead album by far. And that's not hyperbole. It's so groovy and concise.
I cant believe how many people slate Morning Mr Magpie for instance...whole song gives me chills
It was hard to top In Rainbows that’s why people were so mixed on it. It has its issues, a lot of people felt like they were also being cheeky releasing an album with only 8 songs when their others were like what 11+?
Its a great sound but not every song works for me, Bloom is an incredible show starter on it though.
G Vulture it only had 8 tracks on the studio version but there was also The Daily Mail, Staircase, Supercollider, and The Butcher that released around the same time as singles. I kinda consider those King of Limbs content too, especially considering they’re all included on TKOL Live From The Basement
Am I the only one that feels like this is just what Bloom would’ve sounded like on Moon Shaped Pool instead of King of Limbs
Aye.
he should've done that like he did with Morning Bell on Amnesiac
Imagine if they did Creep in a Moon Shaped Pool Vein.
Possibly. But this version is also not too far off from Codex which is on KOL
Perfect point
People won’t realize until Thom is long gone that’s he’s a living musical genius. This type of music is timeless. Truly at the top of the craft.
He is recognised like that now

Its the frank gallagher from shameless effect.
I swear, this is the best he's sounded in some years
Unfortunately it's a construct of our ageist music industry that says that artists have a shelf life that ends around 25 years old. The reality is that there are some amazing artists, producers, songwriters doing some of their best work and improving right up until the end of their lives
Luckily (for us) Thom has a fan-base that will just keep on following him as long as he's making music so he's transcended this roadblock by a mile. The industry just isn't capable of shutting him down.

I met a girl who came to Korea to travel. We met by accident, but i've never met someone like her before. We've truly understood each other. We had a deep conversations and shared our life story. I have been listening to Radiohead for a long time and i just discovered this song. This is the version of this song that is the best version. I heard this song on King of limbs but this version is where Thom gave it its soul. That droning sound in the background the bustling of life and then it becomes so loud that it overpowers everything. One of the most tragically beautiful songs I have ever heard.

@@onurince6189 Nope, this version takes it and I love TKOL.
@@oliverram3243 This version is a piano rendition, not a complete one. Perhaps what sets this version apart is the polyphonic nature of the piano, as opposed to the other version. However, it lacks percussion, bass, and other sounds. The harmony of the melodies is a key component that defines Radiohead's unique sound. If you have a fondness for piano and are particularly drawn to the main melody of the song, along with a clear vocal, then I can understand your preference. This is a subjective matter. But the original song is richer than this played

He just must love the song. Been a few live iterations over the years. Glad he does I love every variation.
he's music is so different than what it was 20 years ago, but somehow he connects those past and present dots so well, you listen to his late works and it feels like it's the same. idk what is more impressive, that he's been making his music better and better through time or that he's still the same Thom Yorke we used to love years ago.
So the original version of bloom quite good.
