Can't seem to find chip's datasheet, but it might be "the shorting mosfets" driver. Getting hot isn't normal so it may have become so sensible, and just instructs all mosfets to turn on when power is available, and in case of an H-bridge or half H-bridge instructing all of them at the same time will cause a short.
This is why I always buy graphics cards and motherboards based on vrm design. Better vrm = more efficient = less heat = Increased lifespan = less work for Alex 😀

So what is the problem overall with ASUS? Is it that ASUS has a poor design that puts too much stress on the component or is it a problem of the chip manufacturer?

Well thats because the circuit tested good after removal and gate tested good with replacement of mosfet so mosfets were blown, but when it happens again is when you have to check further before ruining 4 more.
Well, he did the measurement when there is no voltage run within the laptop. When you basically test between the endpoint of component (during the laptop is off), you basically measures the component itself. 99% of the time, soldered component will behave the same when it is unsoldered from the board. Of course he can measure the component when the component active in itself, but if he just did the measurement on the board, basically 99% it will behave the same. The only exception if you are testing a chip. A chip need multiple signal to even work, which basically need further testing if you unsolder it from the board.

Why do you never measure the component itself after removing it?
He does most of the time
Well thats because the circuit tested good after removal and gate tested good with replacement of mosfet so mosfets were blown, but when it happens again is when you have to check further before ruining 4 more.
Asus outdid themselves, this board will self-destruct in 0 seconds.
Are there supposed to be black screens at min 13? Happens a few times.
no, I think there is an error in editing the video. I had to skip those parts.
I just noticed it. It appears to be a Problem with rendering. I'll fix it in RUclips editor and remove the black Gaps. Thanks.
13:26 black screen
where do i send my full atx mobo i7-2600k no display output now it's a GIGABYTE-GA-P67A-UD7 mobo. I wouldn't mind getting it going again!!! it was a fun gaming computer. I am no sure if it was a fault by i hit the max ghz of 24.4ghz on the processor with it!!! air cooled!!!
there is a regulator mosfet with cracked neighboring from the mosfet i seen it the video he never notice that cracked in the middle from topmark of the component
