    The part where you're a little confused by the hdmi cable not going in made me laugh a little. That was literally the reason they sent in the card.

      I think it's just that he anticipated the possibility that bending the connector had broken circuits, which isn't unreasonable since that applies to so many of his repairs. All the same he worked through it.

      the hdmi connector damage didn't look like a big deal....until it was...i hate it when i underestimate the power of a tenth of a millimeter....

      @@SAZodia They were yes 😞unfortunately they left the GPU market. Still hope one day they will work together with either AMD or Intel to make top tier GPU's again.

    this guy is good at what he does. he sells you the products he uses... so when you can't fix it.. you send it in to him and he shows you how it's done.

    That was my personal card, I would have straightened out that port with a pair of strong tweezers, or small needle nose pliers. Didn't really look to awfully out of wack. I've straighten worse things out with success.

    Is it only me or were the DisplayPorts also bend and needed to be replaced?
    And you don't have to test them just put a cable in it to check if it fits.

      this fix involved major issue , minor issue
      major issue the gpu is working
      minor issue the display ports
      I never dealt with displayports so I don't know, there seem to be great uses for them, I heard they have a hub & you can display 3 monitors on a single line/port

      Also the customer could be using multiple displays with the card. As it stands only one HDMIU port appears to be functional.

    this is a brilliant example how NOT listening to the customer is sometimes a good thing. If you went by there word you would of replaced the connector and it still wouldnt have worked. They would never of guessed about the blown fuses. Also he could of took this to other places who possibly woudl just change it charged him and said well i did what you asked even though it didnt work when returned. well done sir

    A cheap shop would have bent that connector back in shape and forced the cable in it. You did a better than factory job, very impressive.

    We can replace the fuse! Bravo! I learnt lesson early not to have electrical equipment switched on whilst plugging HDMI cables in & out. ALWAYS turn equipment off - don’t be lazy arses else you’ll pay! But you can now replace the fuse!

    Some 3080! Will shutdown the core due to overheating long before it produces a picture.
    Maybe some sort of a cooler is a good idea ?

    When fuses are at work they are always in emergency mode and always very delicate and simple vibration breaks the thin wire inside them that’s probably why they failed when there was nothing shorting it makes sense to me they failed when current is going through them and the bang on the ground broke the connection in them.

    I wonder how much time you would save by having a simple app where you scan a QR code stuck to the donor board and it tells you how many of each component you have on that board, if you use something you just click to minus 1. But I guess it would either take time to count at the start or require the schematics for the donor boards to know what is on it.

    My 3080ti fans went super sonic then shutoff the whole pc an refuses to boot. Need to send it I'm since still under warranty. I hope it gets covered. I cannot afford a new card an its stressing me out. My luck.

    I have a nvme ssd. Can I upgrade hp probook 6470b with it? Are there enclosure adapters that can do this job?

      No you can not. You may be able to get a case and make it an external hard drive but you will not be able to get the speeds that it is capable of. The connections are far too old.

    Bet ya the customer complained about the extra charge cause Alex went beyound to make it work replacing the fuses too not having too. Saving the the customer to pay to ship it back to get the whole job done.

      Also, cap power. Capacitors can store a difference in potential and, because they are designed to release that charge all at once, caps can easily blow fuses if there's a temporary short.

    Hey, man, I'm pretty new to this and I have a question. I have this ASUS Strix 1070ti that I bought for £81 not knowing it's faulty, and it isn't detected at all and has a black screen.       did you get it fixed? I would try finding a local repair shop first. The repair would 100% be more then what you paid for the card if you sent it to this guy.

      @@NonLegitNation2 no i didnt :( the pcb is laying on a drawer with no hope of fixing, and I'm just using an RX 570 8gb. I have no clue what to do. I live in the UK so it's even more difficult.

      @@agsechogd6406 I would definitely look for a local shop. I only say that because last weekend I ended up breaking my RTX 3080, I took it to a local repair shop and he fixed it for $60USD, but then I also contacted Northridge Fix and he quoted me $300 and then an additional $98 if I wanted it worked on in 1-9 days.
