Seriously, this game jerks my chain way more than any of the Dark Souls games. Maybe when I beat it I will think it's brilliant, but not now. Now I think it's vague, confusing, and frustrating.

Honestly miyazaki's era of fromsoftware has made nothing but classics. We can debate which ones are and aren't masterpieces but all rank very highly on my favorite even DS2.

Damn you're holding up pretty well considering how underlevelled you are for the bossfight. I went into the Margit fight with a +4 weapon and promptly got my ass kicked.
Jesus. My weapons still not even at plus 3 because I haven’t found enough smithing stones and I’ve already beat the second lord.
I discovered the blacksmiths after Margit lmaoo I am so bad at figuring out upgrade systems first playthroughs

I loved watching all those player ghosts running outside the little chapel at the beginning, when I played the game for the first time, I don't know, it felt really special. Like, we were all together, side by side, playing Elden Ring for the first time, after the long wait. Then I put the game offline because reading "But Hole" messages all the time kinda ruins the experience for me xD

@@michaelp4387 the problem is that the tutorial cave is pretty far down. when i first started playing it just looked like a fall to the death so i ignored it. i used the groveside cave as a tutorial instead, things turned out pretty ok :)

If Dark Souls rested on classic mythology, Bloodborne rested on Lovecraft, etc., then Elden Ring has been giving me the constant vibe of things like The Never-Ending Story, Narnia, maybe even a little Labyrinth with David Bowie, and other of the weirder fantasy settings from the eighties. That said, as a result the outlandishness of a character like you created somehow manages to become the perfect fit. It's as if they've learned how people make builds like that and so created a world where it would be exactly right to come across as strange as possible regardless. I'm guessing there's still more to it to find, but thus far the weird just works.
Most games similar to skyrim, dark souls etc. are all based or take ideas from various religions and norse mythology
I remember watching the never-ending story movie, it was extremely odd. like a fever dream.
Dark souls, and elden ring share alot of influence from the manga berserk.
They said some was based o ln Norse Mythology but there's quite a bit of Arthurian influence as well
@@rainer9931 Damn that's cool, I never used to know that alot of games like Skyrim etc. got influences from different religions and tales etc. and always thought to myself, "you'd have to be on so much acid to come up with this stuff" lmao, but my interest peaked way more once I learnt how much effort goes into the world building and lore, knowing that some content is completely made up,but also how some of it is based from mythic myths from OUR world...makes it seem more real to me, sorta like how Lord Of The Rings manages to blend our reality with middle earth, almost convinces you that it was a real time period, same with Skyrim...I get that same feeling whilst playing Elden ring like the shit is just so believable when it comes to the lore etc. Love it

You missed the tutorial by not jumping down the hole at the beginning, It teaches you all the combat mechanics including how to two-hand a weapon which you were wondering how to do. Also, the guy you spoke to at the beginning was telling you to follow the golden light trail in the air which wouldve led you to the church youre looking at when you first come out, past the boss on the horse. Was funny how you just went the opposite direction to the dragon swamp. Also, the ruins in the swamp at the beginning by the dragon, you missed the stairs leading down you were looking right at them. There's a good loot chest down there guarded by some rats you should go back for that.

Man played for 5 hrs and still hasn't gotten the map that right there at the begining. And he still hasn't gotten the chest that gives you the item to add skills to weapons. He tripped over both of them. Like he stopped and looked at the stairs for like 10 seconds and then just ran in the other direction. Same with the map. Like wtf is that.

Gaol is pronounced like “jail”. Just so you know. Bloodborne had a similar area, that’s when I learned about it.

It’s weird how I have some very specific game only OCD when watching others play. You just strolling by the map in gatefront ruins not picking it up (it’s right there!!! Purple!!!), cleaning the place of ennemies without going into the cellar, passing the gatehouse asking where is the nearest grace and then immediately go off the main route… AAAARRRGGHH lol

I've almost beaten the game and it's kinda fun watching someone play it without all the hints and tips videos that were released to help with all the beginning stuff. To me the hole seemed obvious, as well as the direction to take right off the start toward the church, but even seasoned gamers like ACT Man missed some of the cues the developers put in... like the first NPC literally telling you to go toward the castle lol. Also I never understand why people close tutorial popup messages and then ask a question minutes later about how to do something when it was clearly just fucking explained in the popup that you just cancelled.
I felt physical pain every time the game stuttered and The Act Man following it up with: "I sure hope it isn't the game that is at fault."
He really tried to stay positive about it. But yeah, the port is unacceptable, even though the game is excellent.
I wish developers cared more about pc gaming, considering it's been their biggest market for more than 5 years now.
There is a strong possibility that the performance issues are partially due to a rushed implementation of Easy Anti Cheat, as fromsoftware has never used an Anti Cheat before and the only reason they are using one in the first place is because of the ultra dangerous vulnerability that exists in ds3. which was found a few months before Elden's ring was released
@@solaireofastora6173 Easy anti cheat always seems to have little issues when i see it used aswell so also hope that is it and it can be fixed.

I made fat thor. I have one jawbone axe which is muljnir, one stormhawk axe which is stormbreaker, I only use lightning bolt incantation and storm caller ashe of war, and I have beautiful long flowing golden hair and I wear the fat suit from the nobleskin duo armor

Why Elden Ring is just insanely Successful , despite the short-term timeline for Development :
1- Now i'm saying this first , the previous Fromsoft Title was Sekiro. ( Sekiro is personally a 9.2/10 for me )... Very solid game. But here are some Facts , Sekiro only has 1 main weapon , few Prosthetic Options , Really Good Bosses but are kinda few and sometimes Repititive etc. etc.
2- Fun Part , Elden Ring is only developed 2 years after Sekiro... ( Elden Ring has 165 Total Bosses in Vanilla alone... Elden Ring has 300+ total of Weapons , Spells , Armor , Talismans etc. ). While being insanely good of an Open World Game without even including the DLC's yet to come.
If Sekiro was 9.2/10 , then Elden Ring should atleast be 20/20 😂
It is so much fun to watch you play this game. I have played quite a bit of it and am amazed at how good you are at this game. I love your channel and think you are amazing! Thanks for all the great content.

You don’t need to actually try at all to beat the beastman all you need is a greatsword which you can find in a chest on a cart in gatefront ruins and with that sword you just hold down left click and he staggers whenever you hit him making him trivial to kill

The funny thing is that some NPCs gender you. I think Alexander is one that does it when you meet him for the first time.

I started with a sword, really slow attack speed, That club is so fast.
0:00 - I instantly notice the backdrop, I enjoy the trail of the hat and cellphone just lying on the floor leading to the pc. Pretty much my game room trail on day of hyped releases of a GOOD game.

What are those white appraisal things for and the bloodstains on the ground? (New to the whole franchise)
White appraisal things are the messages left by other players, while the bloodstains are places of death of other players (you can touch them to see how the player died in your world, however - it will not show what killed him, only the red silhouette of the player and his last seconds of life)

@@TheOneGreat yeah... it's like so much work was put in so everything is consistent atmosphere wise, from characters, locations, music and art style just so you can immerse yourself and then you just take a huge dump at the start, put a firecracker inside and sprinkle it with confetti and completely take yourself out from this well crafted illusion. I just f*cking hate when they do this.

If you go to the first church that's straight passed the giant on a horse an farm the soldiers you can get decent armor pretty quick is what I did when I played. I know this is an old post just saying for any new players

How does level endurance have anything to do with what I said lol. If you mean to easily discover armor you want to level arcane it increases your discovery of items and drops from enemies

It's people like him that make me wonder if from software is doing the right thing by not having the screen full of tutorials and markers. That tell you what to do and what to grab. I have never seen anything like it. He stands right in front of the map,. A main item you need for the game. And he just stares at it and then walks away. Same with the stares that lead to get the item that allows you to add special skill to your weapon. Like he stopped directly in front of the stairs. He had to have seen them. And the he just keeps going. So maybe the critics are right. People can't be trusted to figure it out for himself. Even when they make the shit so obvious you'll have people like him who get distracted by something shiney and then run in the other direction. I'm not gonna watch anymore because he's like 3 hrs in and still hasn't put a point into anything but health lol and walked pass the map 4 times. I am curious to know how long it will take him to figure out maps exist tho. Probably a few hounded hours of gameplay. Also why is he playing on a PC with sub par hardware.

Hey, I never played a dark souls game before and I loved Elden Ring.
It took me about 10 hours to realise the skulls with glowing eyes drop golden runes, and about 3 to figure out what they did.
I didn’t realise auto-lock on existed until Godrick, and I was really struggling the whole time up until then. When I realised it existed, I had gotten so used to the difficulty without it that I was far better than I had any right to be.
Missing things and finding them myself was the most rewarding gaming experience I’ve ever had. It would have been ruined if I just got told it all.

The 1st playthrough experience is obviously a completely different story when you play it online.. My offline playthrough is so chilled so far, i can't imagine having this amount of distraction lying on the floor :( Play the next From Software game offline please Mr. Man
Watched this after my second Elden Ring playthrough; and, as expected, it's as frustrating as watching an old man try to work a computer.
2:14:07 Your GPU is not the problem here. we reached a point where it kind of became a tradition for FromSoft-Releases on PC to be badly optimized. I think, Sekiro was the only exception from this.
