I’ve been defending the Wii U for almost a decade now. I wish more people would have been able to experience it when it was new. Loved the creativity that went into the games!

Me too. I love the Wii U. I'm at around 103 physical games (which isn't that good, considering its been out for 9.5 years and I got mine launch day).

Gamepad was the problem, the games were great to the point that people were buying Wii U ports on the Switch 😂😂

I went ahead and bought a Wii U. I had one towards the end of its life, and about a year later we got the Switch.
I remember the reason I got it was the announcement of Smash Bros.
I was in need of some extra cash, so I had to sell the hardware and one or two games I didn’t care for.
Luckily I kept a few of my games, including both Zelda ports, and Bayonetta 1 and 2.

StarFox Zero is actually alot of fun in Co-op. I was the pilot while my son, 2 years ago 5 years old, the gunner with the pad.
Nintendoland is still being played here; Metroid, Zelda, Pikmin Co-op is amazing. There is no better father-son co-op game IMO. Those other mini games are still the best among the best; party games or solo. Seriously Nintendoland is such a underrated gem. I have tons of games on PS5, PC, Switch as reference.
Splatoon was such an amazing game that I bought 3 WiiU's for multiplayer with my nephews as they have one their own. But now I have 4 Switches to play Splatoon 2, because not needing to bring monitors to setup the whole lan party is so much more convient.
Pikmin 3 was more fun on WiiU than Switch, because of the controls with wiimotes and touchpad IMO

What I'm going to focus on when I get a Wii U again: The Zelda's, the Metroid Trilogy, Gamepad Focused Games, Some DS, Some GBA, some Wii, and games like Splatoon, Xenoblade, and other IP's that I always have avoided.

@@NeiltendoPower I think it is still worth a lot physically. I’ll probably hold onto mine for a while. But it’s a fun game if you enjoy dumb crude military action. Totally worth the $30 on the eShop, in my opinion. And if anyone has the slightest interest in it, definitely a pick up before it’s gone digitally.

There's just something about this little console that I will always love coming back to. Still my all-time favorite Nintendo console, even years later. And I'm just throwing this out there, but I'm one of the very few folks you'll see that actually liked Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival and no, I'm not high.
I'm not a super huge fan of the series, but no joke, I was pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable this game for me.

I ditched Nintendo during the WiiU/3DS era b/c I was annoyed by the gimmicks lack of power and games at launch. I returned to Nintendo b/c Zelda BOTW on Switch was so great. I got into WiiU/3DS game collecting afterwards and I gotta say I missed out. The WiiU definitely had some great games.

It pre-ordered this console (We didn't have an overnight like we did when the Wii came out) and when I went early to pick it up, they still had a ton of them, and I even asked the employees, and even they were confused about what the Wii U was. I told them its like PlayStation 2, 3, and next is 4. And they didn't seem to care.

I guess the controls for Star Fox Zero either clicked with you or not. I really liked the game and did another playthrough last year.
At the end of the PlayStation 2 I was kind of bored and fed up with gaming. Bought the Xbox 360 to see if that could get me back in, and it did. After the Xbox One was revealed with its horrible thoughts on how future gaming had to look (always online, no 2nd hand games and lots of other horrible marketing stuff that they reverted from) I decided to get the Wii U. I did have a GameCube in my late PS2 years, but never got a whole lot of games for it and I skipped the Wii. But boy, about 5 months after the Wii U was released I got a premium pack with ZombiU and NSMBU and boy did I have fun! Not with the zombie game, but that’s because I can’t handle the adrenaline. But the Nintendo games sucks as Mario, but also The Wonderful 101 made me smile ear to ear again whilst gaming. That’s what the Wii U did for me. I’ve still got it hooked up even though I don’t play it that much anymore. I’ve got a pretty big library for it as well.
Such a fun console. Of course, I got an Xbox One a year after its release and a Switch day one. Gaming has been very fun since the Wii U.
