Learned alot from this man! I play 7 yrs at the moment and released my first blues album 2yrs ago en alot of single releases with a listeners reach of more than a 1000.000 views over the last 3 years with blues releases on different channels. Just believe in yourself and the artform! Very informative and important info! Respect for giving us guitarists the insight we need! Much appreciated Ian. Have a nice day! Cheers 🎶
You are like the Rosetta Stone for interpreting guitar Stich. I’ve been watching your videos for years and have never seen someone else so clearly deconstruct and explain essentially what guitar playing is across the spectrum of things one needs to put it all together.
Ian, I know you hear this all the time but you're a remarkably good teacher. Sometimes we find ourselves following rules without really knowing what they are, but then you come along, lay it all out and connect all the dots, then suddenly everything makes sense. You have a knack for getting things across in a seemingly effortless way. Thank you!
It’s winter up here in PA so I thought I’d pop in for a lesson or three while the bike is hibernating. I like this one. Finding a way to coax myself out of the pentatonic has been a challenge.
All other videos on how to solo over blues: Here's A minor pentatonic, it's 5-8, 5-7, 5-7, 5-7, 5-8, 5-8, use this scale to improvise, have fun. Your videos are alot more, thank you for doing this!
I’ve been playing guitar/bass for years. Never liked lessons much, just like noodling around with friends and singing songs. Always been the guy that held the rhythm. Hit a wall in my progression though when it comes to noodling/soloing when I get the opportunities. Never found any videos on RUclips that I found interesting until I came across your channel. You are a joy to learn from and you convey the ideas clearly! Thanks for what you’re doing!
When I need to learn something I come to you. You are the best guitar teacher online hands down. You don’t just show us what to do. You show us how to do it and why. I really appreciate that.
Ian, seriously, you should have a gazillion subscribers. This is pure gold. I love that matrix idea and being able to put in whichever ingredients you choose. Thank you sir!
Stitch, I love you man...such cool stuff on here. You've made me miles better!..I've been playing 32 years and have gone up a notch listening to you...
In a nut shell it's like building a house one piece at time, but you have to start at the foundation first then work yourself up, brilliant idea Ian regarding the matrix , thank you Ian you are the that light in the darkness for us on this guitar learning path,
Hey professor what's up😎 first off I want to thank you are slowing down the information train👌 I started watching you five years ago!" and thought this Dude A Goldmine 💰 but dang information overload🤯💥 now you putting out top notch digestible information thank you again great job
You’re a gps of fretboard topography. As always, thank you for dropping the knowledge. You’ve helped my playing tremendously over the course of the past few months.
Thanks you make the fretboard tell all, your method opens up so many doors to the guitar, that's an awesome guitar your playing today, lessons are fun again with your teaching, thumbs up. 😊👍
This is the best explained theory and soloing technique video both visually, audibly, that I hav ever seen on RUclips. Love the matrix, that is something I’ve been needing to put it all together. I feel like it’s a bit of cheat sheet but one who does not imitate will never produce anything. Also you are getting much better at explaining and teaching! Great job!
I'm certainly no jazzer, and I know this isn't a jazz channel - but like many guitarists who are always pushing themselves, it seems that really "getting" jazz has always eluded me. I think some kind of jazz matrix comparable to your blues matrix here would be a great tool. say just over a simple II V I or something. here's our progression, and here's these dozen or so different concepts that we can all apply.
This was really cool. As you said, this can't be the first Stich Method video you watch, but if someone has been with you for a while, this was very helpful. I had to go back and watch your Chord Tones video again, but was able to play the pentatonic on the 1 do chord tones on the 3 and 4. And because of your previous lessons, I KNOW where the nearest chord tones are! Thanks as always!
Great job of tying it all together, always loved your presentation. So much information, I love to re watch and sip on so great blues wine From the Stitch Vineyard, gotta get to your patron page, it’ll happen, I promise. Great Work !!!
Awesome lesson - just where I am at, trying to unlock changing 'modes' over chord changes. Practicing this is gonna help a bunch! Thanks Ian - love your instruction!
Another great video lesson, Ian! However, I’m really unclear about the best way to breathe life into a slow Minor Blues solo. Could you do an “in the mind of” video channelling what SRV is doing in, say, “Tin Pan Alley”? There’s tons of videos out there in RUclips land showing you how to play slow Blues licks but NOT about understanding the soloist’s mindset.
Love it, will make good use of it! Maybe a similar concept could be used for song arrangement? Things like Intro, Verse, Chorus, Verse, variations, etc? Like maybe 'different matrixes for each'?
this cat is the real deal folks....so generous and easy flowing teach tools....go from 10% to 100% in no time if you put in the time with his teaching methods
“ Nobody’s gonna boo you off stage just yet.” I love that. wish there was a love button as well as a like button.
Ian, you give us some of the most clear, useful, and well-thought out guitar lessons possible. Your teaching is excellent and patient. Thank you.
Have watched literally hundreds of blues tutorials but this is outstanding. Respect from South Africa.

Never thought of it like this, each bar use a different “tool”, this is definitely gonna help me improve, thanks.
This is absolutely a contender for the best guitar instruction video on RUclips. Bravo.
Wow, thanks!
Agree, it's brilliant!
John mayer watches his vids
Great teacher 😃
I have committed to soloing much better. Your template has made my day as I now have a route map. Many thanks

Man Ian, it’s been a little while since I’ve watched one of your videos and boy am I happy this came up in my feed. Great job again my friend!

One of the best instructors on You Tube. Thanks for sharing this. Wonderful lesson my friend
Best guitar educator in RUclips. Thank you very much! Can't believe how under subscribed your channel is. Keep it up!
It’s winter up here in PA so I thought I’d pop in for a lesson or three while the bike is hibernating. I like this one. Finding a way to coax myself out of the pentatonic has been a challenge.
Great blues lesson and lots of info in one lesson, awesome way to think blues.

Loved the approach. Certainly illuminates some dark spots for me. Thank you 🙏
Love how you are real about your flubs, love your content and your playing
You've just unlocked blues soloing for me!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Wow, this is amazing! It's impressive how far a little structure will get you. Thank you, Stich!

I always wanted to organize a practice routine this way but never did it because it’s so dense. Thank you!
Brilliant… best ideas I have seen in 55 years of playing!
Well done Stich! Isn’t it cool when it all falls into place and it all makes since and there you are playing it, so you know that it’s right!
Great stuff

I'll say it again. Your teaching method is awesome!
Love you so much man. Your breakdowns are meaningful and well thought out. I wouldn’t be the same player without your videos
Amazing to hear! Thanks man! So glad the videos help
