My God...where has this been? This is a game changer.
Yeah, right. A total game changer for me too.
Absolutely ! .
He just put alot of guitar teachers out of business...in ONE brilliant lesson.
This " IS THE KEY" we all have looked so long for...I wish I had said " a game changer" because this is the absolute meaning of this "Soloing on guitar method " Stiched " brilliantly together!
Just love moments like that….
First time I played with this my wife said “what song is that!”
After watching this, you remember countless blues solos you've heard are patterned this way. It's like most others are teaching you how to dig a hole by showing you dirt and different holes, while he's showing you how to wield a shovel.
fly 13 I get the holes reference there
That's a fantastic analogy for most RUclips lessons.
True, this guy is benevolent and the comment keen!
if mystery men taught me anything, it's that a shovel is not for digging
Great analogy!
"Tell a story" has been promised by many teachers but they never delivered. This good sir is delivering how! Thank you
So glad You enjoyed!!!
This may be the most important guitar lesson that I have seen in years on any online platform! You could not have conveyed this information any better. When you illustrate with your playing and explain the changes, it really highlights the ideas. Extremely valuable lesson!
Stich, I know you're not the Devil, because he would charge a soul for what you just taught me
The best blues instructor on the internet, bar none!
"Bar" I see what you did there.
Man, this is absolutely the most critical thing I've learned yet in the blues pursuit. This is magisterially articulated
ever since I started watching your videos a week ago, it’s been non stop lightbulbs going off in my head. you put guitar in the simplest terms possible, easy for anyone to understand, can’t thank you enough man!
Other teachers: "here's how to show off". This guy: "here's how to engage the audience".
There are a shit-ton of people going "Oh..." right now. Great lesson Stich!!
Couldn't agree more mate. I've been playing a while and lessons like this are still valuable. Thank you Dr.Stitch
Oh..... yep, I'm one of them.
Actually, I said AHHHHHH.
Same idea though.
Oh!
You are genuinely the best guitar teacher on RUclips. I’ve learned more from your videos than anyone - and there are some incredibly gifted teachers on this website. Sean is great, but I love the structure and focus on lead playing that you have. Paul David’s is great with production value but you just absolutely kill it. Never Lost Pentatonic took things off the ground for me and stuff like this really takes that to the next level. Never give up man
3 hours of blues videos and this one just stuck. Thank you!
WARNING: This is a video which "pros" dont want you to watch.this is a video which changes your playing. you will be never same again.
i am a RUclips taught guitarist. i guarantee you noone noone shares these steps.
everybody shows you how to ride a cycle, motorbike or car. but nobody actually shows you the path. but this man here is saying "you can even walk, here is the path"..
note: editing this comment. just tried this method and believe me or not it makes much more sense now. just yesterday i was playing on a backing track and it wad NOODLING. tried this method and it bamm. i was ENJOYING MY PLAYING WITH CONFIDENCE.. thank you so much.. ❤️❤️❤️🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Ok, this is one of the most important and significant lessons on youtube....by far...you alway explain why, this will help soooo many people....home run!!! Thank you
Very creative. Interesting concept for staying "grounded" over the standard blues progression, although easily adapted to other chord progressions, too. Thanks.
Thanks Ian, that was a really great lesson. My call and response will improve no end thanks to this video. Cheers, man.
Ian, you've put out some great lessons, but I think this is one of you best. I haven't been able to break out of the "noodling" rut, and now I know how. This one should shoot you over 100K subs TOMORROW!
Another clear-as-bell lesson that i which I saw 5 years ago. Ian's an amazing instructor. I bought his Udemy blues classes and never looked back!
I've been playing blues for over 50 years. I wish I had had that lesson years ago. Very useful. Well done.
I've been playing guitar since 2004...took a few lessons, but never had someone explain blues phrasing like this...so simple yet so effective, thank you!
Glad to help!
A light just went off in my head. You explained this perfectly and logically to people who are trying to grasp these concept. Thank you.
Great lesson, very practical and to the point. Having a 12 bar formula really works for me.
The way you’re teaching this stuff is incredible. It’s useful to beginners and experienced players at the same time. I’ve been playing for 16 years and the way you’re giving these lessons is getting me to look at the fretboard in a new way.!
Bel video. Semplice e concreto. Thank you very much from Italy.
Agree with everyone raving about this lesson. Beautifully communicated. Thank you!
What a great video. You have taken something confusing and potentially overwhelming and made it seem clear and simple. Thank you!
Haven't been able to catch up for awhile but after playing for 30 years I have been blessed as a rhythm guy/ singer but always had trouble playing leads much less mixing. I learned so much from you in the last year, I'm starting have way more confidence beginning to play open mics , falling in love with playing alI over again 😎✌🏼. Thanks man
Very insightful soloing concepts! It always amuses me how well you play and teach at the same time, ha ha.
Over the last couple of years, I’ve had some real ‘lightbulb’ moments.
Your chord tone ‘Hey Joe’ video, and this one.
Thanks Ian. It doesn’t get any better than this.
I have been playing over blues jams as of late using my knowledge of scales and such and although it sounds musical ,I felt it was missing something this is a great lesson to show how to structure a solo effectively.thamk you.
This was seriously Fantastic. I Really got something useful out-of-this. Thanks Brother from NYC.
This must be one of the most helpful tutorials about the guitar I've ever seen! Thank you.
too many rules, just take drugs
@@commentfreely5443 what do you mean???
Really
Don't apologize for talking too much. I've learned as much from many a good talk as I have from hands-on lessons. The talking in many ways is actually more important.
I listened to Warren Haynes talk about string bending and he talked twice as much as he played, and it was a stellar lesson.
Hey man you got a link to the Warren video you mentioned? I would love to hear that.
@@STSGuitar16 It's actually a DVD I own. I'll see what the neck it's called. Maybe it's on here somewhere.
@@brubakersflatcakes9755 Awesome, thanks! I love guitar masterclasses like that and warren is one of my favorite players so I would love to glean from it what I may.
Your channel provides so many lightbulb moments.
Why didn't any of my previous guitar teachers teach me this?
Honestly, "They hide this from you" would be an appropriate headline here.
I can already see how this framework can be used to build riffs, chord progressions, and melodies.
Truly missing puzzle piece level stuff.
Thanks man.
Stitch... been watching your videos now for about a month. So glad I found you. I'm getting back into guitar and your combination of theory, having fun and easy methods of explanation make it a joy. Thanks for what you do man. Gonna keep watching and liking!
I watch all your stuff, but this was the best! I intuited some of this, but understanding is a whole step up for me. Thanks.
I’ve been playing for 23 years. Learned mostly by jamming and tab books I found at music stores (the internet wasn’t big yet, lol) I wish I could’ve seen these videos back then. The way you teach is awesome! One of the best I’ve seen!
I noticed that my guitar playing was significantly better immediately after watching this video. What great advice, thanks for sharing!
This is the best lesson on learning how to play lead guitar in general that I’ve ever seen. I’ve watched this video 4 times now and there is just so much information that translates to other styles of music. Brilliant!
If you could do another lesson on lead guitar playing in other styles of music that would be amazing thank you!
So glad you enjoyed!
This is by far, the best improvisation video I’ve seen. And I’ve seen a lot. Breaking down the concept and giving the notes a “purpose”. Thank you so much, going to implement this into my Tenor Saxophone jams
Been traveling all week so I have not had an opportunity to watch this until this morning. WOW Ian what a great way to make you think and give you purpose every time you pick up the guitar and try to play over at 12 bar blues. Yes, opportunities to improvise, but with the purpose of creating and coming back to a solid and maybe quite simple melody. Really love it. Improvising and thinking at the same time.
THIS has opened my eyes to traditional blues soloing. Bigtime. Thankyou.
way cool, boilin' info. glad i found you on youtube! thanks so much. just subscribed!!!
After about a year of intensive guitar related youtubing and messing around as a complete beginner that wants to play blues, this is hand down the most useful videolesson i have seen. This finally gave me something to work after being stuck messing around! Big thanks to you!
That was great!
You would believe the number of people I asked for help, who never managed to explain this as simply and efficiently as you did here! Thanks so much!!!!
Beautiful man, tangible, clear and concise .... excellent post!
Super lesson! Great for many instruments and the blues. Great instructor! Thnks!
Been playing the blues for years on and off and this lesson immediately made me sound 10 times better than before. Great stuff
I am so glad this ended up in my suggested videos. You are so easy to understand. I needed this.
Yeah every time I come back to Stich, I am like "why have I not been watching this guy more..." Another great lesson
It is a game changer, it is SO close to where I'am at, just Great! Now All I have to do is Practice ??
Finally a guy that makes it understandable. great lesson Stich..
Thank you Ian so much! You are by far the best “ explainer” of music production. You help me sooo much! Thanks Man!
This lesson is RUclips guitar gold! Thanks Stich.
one of the best blues videos I have ever seen! thanks, Mr. Stich!
Your lessons are absolutely amazingly clear, structured and to the point! Thank you! (I wish, as well as all others, I found them sooner)
Beautiful and simply explained Stich ! Gracias por la leccion...
Yet another great lesson Stitch! You are one of the top Guitar Teachers on the entire internet! Thanks for all you do! 🎸🎶
Fantastic lesson, Stitch! Earlier this week I watched your video about making up a sentence to create phrasing. This ties in nicely with that video. Thanks for continuing to produce some of the best lessons out there.
OMG, you explained it ever so simply, thank you sir :)
Brilliant! Just in time for what I have been looking for.
You’re a great teacher Ian, I love how you break it down 👍
First online teacher( edited) any guitar teacher any where , to actually have a process to solo. Most understandable and useful ever !
Thank You! ( edited) Thank you, Thank You...Thank YOU!
I’ve been playing for 3 years, background as a trainer in an unrelated field. This video has all the elements of great instruction, incl. learning benefits, application, examples and explanation all delivered in an extremely concise, succinct, understandable and memorable manner. The best 14 mins of guitar instruction I have watched on RUclips. Thank you.
Ian, this is one of your best lessons; amazing stuff. Thank you!
This is actually amazing. Just the right way of explaining how to tell your story well. Fantastic video!
I love you stitch method! Thanks for all your input, all of your videos and your musicianship are great!
This is up there - one of the best guitar learning videos I have seen. Super useful for us ‘bedroom noodlers’ (yes I am that guy in your ‘if it sounds like this..’ section). Simple presentation of some really core stuff which will keep me going for days if not weeks. Thanks for sharing Stich!
That should be part of every kid’s guitar lessons - early. Excellent formula I wish I’d been taught decades ago.
Just discovered this channel after a lot of search about blues guitar. Well done making your lessons so actionable! From the first minute I can pick up my own guitar and follow. Not a lot of big talk, just great advice. And approachable lesson, very well organized. Thank you!
This is so great. Thank the guitar gods I came across this
Excellent material, well presented. This should be required viewing for anyone starting out playing the Blues. Really gives a clear understanding of the basic 12 bar Blues structure.
fantastic lesson. man I wish I found you earlier. im gonna start digging through your vids. thanks
Thank for this lesson!
Have the picture of the structure now. Never knew this, thanks again
Thanks Stich! im at a point where my biues leads are starting to sound better and this lesson just opened up anew way of dealing with playing over the chord changes
the lesson is well explained , I can almost picture in my head 12 bar blues in that order you instruct , keep on the good work .
I want to thank you for this lesson! This was such a big help. It made so much sense!
You got yourself a new subscriber
And thank RUclips for a great video recommendation!
This is a rare talent to deliver material in a way so that it's understood on all levels.
I started learning guitar on my own, then took lessons with 4 different teachers, then was on yousician for a while - I just wasn't getting it.... until this video.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Sir.
Stich brings always in the „Missing link“. I have learned a lot scales and concepts in the past from personal teachers, True Fire courses and so on. But Stich is the first who shows me in an easy and understandable way to bring all this things together. That makes sense!
Thanks so much, you are a great teacher the way you explain enabled me to digest the concept.
Just wow. Great lesson, Stich. Fantastically helpful.
Great Lesson Ian. This is in big letters on my wall. This is such a great method. Been having fun all morning. Thank you
Simple, quick, effective. This was a fantastic lesson. Thankyou!
This is exactly what I needed to hear! Thanks!
I found your channel through Sean Daniel. You guys were great together! He's really funny and helpful, but I came to your channel and learned SO much SO fast. I'm not saying I'm good, but you make it easy to understand and I love your videos.
THANK YOU!
Access to phenomenal guitar teachers online is 100% incredible! Thank you!!!!!
I already commented on this lesson, but DAMN ... THIS IS THE LESSON YOU NEED TO SEE! Brilliant explanation, simple and clear, which makes me want to play and play. Thank you just isnt enough for what this lesson gives. Thank you a million times!
You just opened my eyes and loosened my fingers. The Blues makes a little more sense to me now. Thanks brother!
Thanks for the road map. I really needed this.
Amazing. Truly so useful and well presented. Thank you so so much
Extremely Helpful. Thanks so much!!!
You read my mind dude! I've been struggling with this and didn't know exactly what i was struggling with. In my mind i knew what i wanted but didn't know how to relay the message. Thanks dude. You're the best!
Wow. Think of your melody as a conversation. Thats a game changer in its self. Thank you so much
Best example of melody writing, much love.
New practice regiment to live by? I think so. Thanks Stitch! Big ups on the tutorial!
Great lesson. Many thanks.
I do some of these things, but breaking a typical/cliched blues down into these constituents is an inspired idea. So simple and obvious, like many of the best ideas.
This is stratospherically ahead of anything else like this on RUclips - UNBELIEVABLY GOOD!
Found this in my recommendation and it was exactly what i was looking for
No doubt regarding the title! Watching your video after posting this comment...I watched your blues classes a month ago and my melody making improved tremendously!
Great lesson I can see how it moves the progression and melody. What you offer is a treasure but we don't bury it we share it like you shared with us not very many people offer this kind of opportunity to get your chops down it is there to learn and I see why you have and continue to get subscribers. I am entering my 3rd summer watching and learning with Stitch Method...Thank you Sir
