IMPORTANT UPDATE! After I filmed and uploaded this video, Disneyland has announced that Genie+ is being replaced with the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Individual Lightning Lane is being replaced with Lightning Lane Single Pass starting on July 24th.
As far as I’m aware, this is a change in name only at Disneyland.
WDW will return to advanced booking of the first 3 lightning lanes scheduled weeks before your trip like it was with FastPass+.
I’ll have a new video out at the end of July confirming nothing else has changed about the service once it’s live and available for purchase.
what happens if you already purchased Genie plus tickets for your trip in october?!
@@bestdaysahead921You’ll still have it, it’ll just be called a Lightning Lane Multi Pass now.
It’s a mouthful, but the previous name was so confusing to people.
They didn’t understand that Genie+ was a service you used to book Lightning Lanes. They thought they were two totally different things and had no idea how to buy a Lightning Lane even though they had Genie+.
I think the new names will alleviate this confusion, even if it was easier to say Genie+
Will the cost be the same for Genie+ turning into lightning lane multi pass. or else i gotta make adjustments to my money saving plan for my trip.

I’m hopefully going to Disney in late August. So thrilled about the Haunted Mansion news. However, I’m not gambling that Tiana’s Splash Mountain will be open in time for us.

While I love Disney updating their park, I feel like they do too much construction and closures at the same time. Maybe if they didnt do so many different ones at the same time they could have more crew on a site and get it done quicker. No one wants to pay so much to visit the park on vacation to see so much closed.

I’m glad we put off our trip until later. My husband has never been to Disneyland and I want him to see the regular haunted mansion, not the overlay. It seems like Disney is just rushing through the holidays now. It’s so early to put up Halloween decor.
The wall DEFINITELY will NOT be at the bridge. Will anger many guests who walk the entire way only to find that they need to turn right back around. Wall will likely be at Harbor Galley.

I really want to go back to Disneyland this month. I havent been there since Feb 2023.
I heard they got rid of Abraham Lincoln’s attraction entirely as well as the beauty and the beast library. And so far there’s still no real date as to when tianas bayou adventure opens other than “late 2024” 😔 starting to maybe think I should wait till December instead.

OBB is a blast if you love characters. It's pricey for a family, but if you don't get a chance to visit often it's a wonderful memory.

So we are looking to go again, Halloween seems like it might be the perfect time, and our kids absolutely love Halloween and The Nightmare before Christmas!

With the new August closures just announced for the railroad and space mountain, I would wait till November. Maybe even an outside chance Tiana’s and Critter Country reopening?
I have seen something about the Disneyland railroad being shut down as of the first week of August. Do you know anything about that?
I just saw that they are now closing Space Mountain on August 5th...the day before we arrive. 😭 Seems like a ton of closures. Space Mountain, Tiana's Bayou Adventure, The Haunted Mansion, even the Disneyland Railroad! Not to mention Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, Pooh Corner, etc.... And now they're not doing shows during the week? Pretty expensive tickets for a park that's half closed. Thoughts? Tips for still having a decent trip?

@@megastarwarsrocks99 it only lasted 2 months. That’s all they ever promised for it. I wish they’d bring it back or replace it, but that theater has been vacant for 10 months now.
I am NOT looking forward to TBA. Because from what I saw from the Magic Kingdom version of the retheme, it did NOT look good.
Sounds like to be Haunted Mansion and Tiana's has still a lot of time for construction to be done and Disney trying to fast track any kind of opening for Haunted Mansion which could be worse than not opening it at all, but also sounds like both projects nowhere near being complete. With the Resistance ride, last time went to Disney, be two years ago in November, it wasn't uncommon where the first ride of the day wasn't until 10 in the morning.
Kind of a silly question, but can you explain a virtual queue? I have never had to use it and not sure how it works.
How does a Virtual Que work? Do you check in in your phone and it tells you what time to come back light a lighting lane but its not a lighting lane?
I hate the idea of a virtual que for the Haunted Mansion only because it will be hard to get a reservation to get on the ride. But thank you for explaining why they are requiring it. Do you think that they will end the virtual que at some point in 2024?
@@jeanh9321 My guess is the virtual queue will end as soon as the rest of the queue opens. Who knows when that will be.
It’s the same time that the New Orleans Square Railroad station reopens as well.

I am planning for 2 day trip to Disney land. We will be 2 adult and one 5 year old. We are not fans of roller coasters. Can some one please suggest some hack into pricing, cheapest I can see is 3 days tour for 800 bucks

I'm planning on completely redoing my Genie+ video after the change is live. I should have a video up on July 26th.
When was this made because it says June 22 and 23rd so that’s pretty much week old information already. I love the content but I wish I could be a little more up-to-date because it’s redundant now that those days have already passed and we just got this information.

Once the full calendar is available for August, I’ll put out a new video talking about August’s closures, around the end of July.
Yes, I filmed it on June 23rd. Yes, new information always comes out the day after I film something. This is the nature of Disney.
The video is useful, however, for those visiting in July.
If you’re talking about the Space Mountain closure scheduled for August, that’ll get covered in next month’s video.
Since the refurb calendar only goes out 6 weeks, it’s impossible to share any info further than a month out.

Refurb calendar is the bottom tab on each day. If there’s no Refurb tab, there’s nothing closed.
Haunted mansion only one virtual que visit a day? I know this is a multiple times a day attraction for many

I've used it now quite a bit, even yesterday at Universal, and I like it. The middle setting, which is the one I use, is good for 8 hours. My mom was using it on full blast and it only lasts 4 hours. The lowest setting lasts for 16 hours, but I don't really notice much on that setting.
Using the middle setting, and only running it when I'm actually hot (from about Noon to 5 PM or so?), I've never ran out of power before I got home and was able to recharge it.

@@MaMyMerkadez Unfortunately, it’s illegal to film for profit in a national park. I don’t know all the details, because there are people who still make videos.
But as of about 2 years ago, I remember reading you could lose your RUclips channel over it.
Perhaps that’s turned out to not be true. I don’t know. I haven’t really kept up to date with it.
I certainly took lots of footage, but none of it is intended for use on RUclips.

That appeared on the calendar after I made this video, but yes, that is true. I'll have more details next month. It's too early in the calendar to know how long it'll be.
We are going August 19/20/21 (which isn’t up yet) and on entertainment schedule there is no avengers campus stuff showing at all after 4th August, do you think that’s correct or will be updated, was really hoping to see the Spider-Man show.

I’ve seen fireworks schedules say there’s nothing in 3 weeks and then suddenly change as it gets closer.

That is correct. That’s the latest word I got from a cast member.
I am going in Disneyland in December. You said the Haunted House will be on a virtual queue. So do I have to go to a specific site to sign up to ride the haunted mansion then?

It will be done through the Disneyland app - When the ride opens you will be able to go on the app, find & select haunted mansion, and then enter the virtual queue where you are given a specific time to ride 👍🏼
@@sharnhintz7441 It’s done the same way that virtual queues were done with Rise of the Resistance and with Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
They’ll have a drop at 7 AM, and another later, probably around 1 PM, I don’t remember the exact time for the second drop of virtual queue reservations.
The first one can be done anywhere, but you have to have scanned your ticket already to participate in the second drop, so folks not checking in until 3 or 4 PM won’t be able to grab it.
It’ll be done through the Disneyland app and is all pretty straight forward. There’s a lot of instruction and they make it clear. You’ll be able to see what to do.
But I’ll likely make a video about it as well as soon as the ride opens.
If the gift shop is still under construction when Haunted Mansion open what if disney doesn't operate the unloading area and just has everyone exit through the enternce area like they do for wheelchair users it will be on virtual queue so they can manage the croud levels at the ride.

@@joeyavila3100 Unfortunately, no. They don’t usually announce it. It just suddenly becomes available when they feel like selling it again.
If I had to make a guess, the next window will be in August sometime, but I can’t say for certain.

@@EmilyHarrison-q4r I’ll make a video about it once Haunted Mansion reopens. For now, you can open the app and scroll down on the Home Screen until you see the “Virtual Queue” area.
It’s as simple as pressing “Join Virtual Queue” about 2-3 minutes before 7 AM, confirming your party, and then refreshing at 7 AM on the dot to join the queue.
If you miss the 7 AM slot, there’ll be another around 1 or 2 PM. It’ll tell you in the app when the next window opens.
