    To all the negative comments, i personally had to use one on my dog. She used to chase and nip our livestock and we tried every technique to get her back, even a professional. She is a very friendly dog and wouldn't hurt a fly (trust me, I've seen her try) but we cant have stressed stock while their pregnant. And yes yes i could put her on a lead or just leave her behind but she can jump the fences into the paddocks. I definitely dont favor them but it didn't make her distrust us at all. She only needed 2 shocks and shes been gold since. Its also a hell of alot better than hitting your dog because they dont always realize its you doing it.

    Just a tip: I would recommend putting the e collar more off to the side of his neck bc directly on the neck and behind the head could cause some nerve damage should you ever need to stimulate on high levels in case of emergency. Part the hair until you find skin and put the prongs directly on the skin. It works really well for my husky as he only needs it on a 6-10 out of 100 levels. If he is still being stubborn, the higher up on the neck and closer to the ear is very sensitive, so they will listen on a 4 as if it’s on 10. Just a suggestion! Ignore ignorant people who don’t have the time to educate themselves!

The 3rd time was a little bit of the shock. Thats how he got her to listen to him. Use high value treats along with the e collar if you really want him to learn fast. Also teach him down and stay (best to use a prong collar + treats for that). Then have him stay in one spot while you walk away and have him come. Practice this until you dont have to use the e collar then bring distractions like another dog around and use the e collar when he becomes distracted. Huskies have a high prey drive which makes off leash always risky but if you really work at it they'll listen like 90% of the time lol

  • @BlueRage
    @BlueRage 5 лет назад +6

    These shock collars really do work with dogs with behavioral problems...our dog did a 180 and now has manners. Can also save lives...for instance the dog that chases cars, or the dog who wants to eat the family bird. One shock and they do a complete 180. My view however is that if you're going to put it on your dog, test it on yourself.

      @@drunkkhajit5035 . Disobedience calls for consequences and repercussions. Human or Animal. Simple as that. The reason why we have jails and normal citizens ffs. You can love your dog unconditionally and train them and some will be very disobedient STILL. There's a difference between a IGNORANT dog and a STUBBORN dog. IGNORANT dog genuinely doesn't understand the command and it's owner should work on that. Stubborn dog is a dog that reacts great to commands indoors but as soon as you're in a different environment they wanna do what THEY want to do and all of a sudden have 'SELECTIVE HEARING' and none of their training doesn't matter anymore. And yes, I understand that is a part of their excitement but they know when they're pushing their boundaries. I have an 8 month old aussie and she is extremelyyyyyyyy intelligent and has mastered any command I threw at her in 20 minutes. We walk off-leash. She is still working on that. Great with recall but she reacts to certain impulses, which she needs to work on still. It just so happens whenever she sees a body of water she goes berserk and wants to leap in it doing zoomies. Aht-aht. That is a fatal mistake living in Florida because 90% of the time there is a gator lurking in the water and that will be the end of her!!!! So I have to use extreme consequences to make her understand it is completely unacceptable. I.E. the shock collar. Or whatever you wanna call it. I bought one but haven't yet used it, but I'd rather her have a scare from a little static shock than be caught, eaten alive and drowned by a fucking 12 ft gator!!!! And it's easy to say 'well keep her away from bodies of water'. But 80% of any public place for dogs in Florida that you go to will have bodies of waters. She's still going to learn.

But we only use the actual shock if he runs off and doesn’t come back when we call him. Before we even used the shock collar, he’d take off and not come back unless he wanted to. We’ve only used the shock two or three times in the beginning and now he’s great. Doesn’t run off when we let him out and if he does he comes right back when we call. I was desperate, so much of what I had already tried hadn’t helped. So I put a shock collar on my dog. The e-collar did not change his behavior, not in the long term. All it did was let him know that some of his gear shocked him. I regret it and will never again use a shock collar on him or any other dog of mine or a client.

    Dog collars that have electric shocks or any “mild” shocks shouldn’t be used for owners who are lazy and expect the dog to immediately learn what’s right and wrong. I am usually against these collars because dogs are dogs, and shouldn’t be deprived from their natural dog instincts. Imagine if the dog is in some danger where he might need to act up, and the owner might think he’s just misbehaving. These collars should be used while supervised. Training and giving the dogs an active lifestyle is the answer! It builds a stronger bond when you spend more time with your dog versus putting objects to shock them.

Your husky is pulling because that what huskies have been bred for hundreds of years to do, pull sleds. And secondly because you allow him to pull and have not trained him to walk sensibly on leash. Don’t excuse lack of training with “dominance”.

    I used this collar on my dog for excessive barking that was disrupting the neighborhood. I tested it on myself before putting it on him. I'd use sound mode, then vibrate then shock mode. He eventually made the connection and stopped at vibrate. I used this collar because when he's outside barking I couldn't be right there next to him and if I yelled out to him he just thought I was barking too. So when I was in the kitchen making dinner I couldn't drop everything to go out and stop him. This collar is great if used correctly

  • @RatongaBruiser

    Encouraging people to use shock collars. Big no and big yikes. Yes I understand people say they can be used "properly", but more often than not you can get better results with positive reinforcement and painless distraction. Knowing results are out there without pain, there is no reason to use pain unless you enjoy it or you're under the misguided idea that it gets faster results. I do train dogs (10+ years) and we specifically refuse prong and shock collars. People should not be encouraged to use these outdated things. A vibrate ONLY collar (has ZERO shock feature) is great for positive reinforcement recall on deaf dogs. The moment you add shock you're doing a disservice.

    This is one of the best video I've seen, I just bought a Dr.Trainer Dog Training Collar for my German shepherd. This Training Collar has auto retractable and will not cause irritation to my dog's neck. Also I can record my voice to the system, I can use my voice recording to train my dog, say goodbye to the traditional beep sound for good. So far it seems really effective. All I do is pressing the voice recording button to correct my dogs behavior. We hardly have to use the shock setting.

    That’s is not a training collar, that’s a cheap amazon shock collar. A good ecollar will cost close to $200 and will use a paplovian type stimulation that’s similar to a tens machine used at a chiropractor. If you truly want to get a good training collar the mini educator, and dogtra are good brands that you can trust. You get what you pay for and these are the only collars I really would ever consider if you are educated and know how to use them properly and positively. Good luck.

      maia o would it work on a big crazy dog 😭 my dog is the devil . 😭

    • @maia6973
      @maia6973 5 лет назад +2

      The Beauty Channel. The ecollar is not a quick fix, and should be used at LOW levels along with treats and lots of praise. Training a dog takes lots of time and patience, and they won’t truly learn if you just turn the dial up and shock them. They will only learn to avoid the stimulation, and will only do what you want because the don’t want to be punished. I personally would only use my ecollar as a security blanket when my dog is off leash, and for things like teaching basic obedience I would just use luring repetition with treats and praise. I don’t think that you should have to rely on the collar, and if you dog is “crazy” then you could try practicing calm behaviors along with incorporating different things that they love to gain their focus.

    • @maia6973
      @maia6973 5 лет назад +2

      The Beauty Channel. A lot of the time we humans are the cause of the problem weather that is reinforcing them with pets when the jump up at you, giving them table scraps when they beg, or chasing them when they decide to run off. I would incorporate more structure in your dogs life like crate training when you can’t have eyes on them, avoiding stressful situations, feeding them on a schedule, and asking for certain behaviors before they do things like go outside or get a treat. I would also recommend you give the dog proper exercise both physically and mentally. A lot of the time dogs will act out because they are bored, and with things like chews, interactive puzzles, and toys they are more likely to stay out of trouble. Make sure to give lots of treats and praise and make sure to keep training short and fun so they look forward to it.

I love this dog and I now it will take lots of time but I want to give him a better life better then the one he had with my mean neighbor oh and also I told my neighbor that if they get a new dog and I see them abusing it I will call the cops ! Cycle Candy This is not true in my experience and the experience of many others. I have purchased a pet trainer before, and the shock is definitely a pronounced shock. Brands like Mini Educator are much more mild and use a different kind of stimulation.
