Some dogs just don’t train well to certain commands even with treats. Mine really didn’t, unless it was the common sit, lay down, shake commands. But we only use the actual shock if he runs off and doesn’t come back when we call him. Before we even used the shock collar, he’d take off and not come back unless he wanted to. We’ve only used the shock two or three times in the beginning and now he’s great. Doesn’t run off when we let him out and if he does he comes right back when we call. We only use the warning noise now. That’s just my dog, though.

Years ago, when I was struggling to get my dog, Jake, to behave appropriately, I thought, well, if e-collars are recommended by trainers, they must be fine. I was desperate, so much of what I had already tried hadn’t helped. So I put a shock collar on my dog. The e-collar did not change his behavior, not in the long term. All it did was let him know that some of his gear shocked him. I regret it and will never again use a shock collar on him or any other dog of mine or a client.
@That Guy YES THEY ARE! A few years ago I tried a shock collar on my dog but all it did was burn a hole in her neck! I will never use them again! BECAUSE THEY ARE HORRORS!
Dog collars that have electric shocks or any “mild” shocks shouldn’t be used for owners who are lazy and expect the dog to immediately learn what’s right and wrong. I am usually against these collars because dogs are dogs, and shouldn’t be deprived from their natural dog instincts. Imagine if the dog is in some danger where he might need to act up, and the owner might think he’s just misbehaving. These collars should be used while supervised. Training and giving the dogs an active lifestyle is the answer! It builds a stronger bond when you spend more time with your dog versus putting objects to shock them.
(This is your choice and please don't be offened!!) Shocking any dog is not nice and can cause an bad behaviour and damage to your bond. To train your dog it should be with lots of Love and patient. This is totally up to you but I don't agree I have 4 dogs of my own they are all loved and cared for , I have a special dog room for them and my dogs are spoilt (in a good way). Be careful to your dog be greatful to them remember they are not humans!!
I purchased Dr.Trainer dog training collar. the e collar has auto retractable will not cause irritation to dog's neck. This function I've never seen before from other brand. Also I can record my own voice to train my dog, say goodbye to the traditional beep sound for good. and the security keypad lock prevent any misoperation on the remote.
As a professional dog trainer who exposes anyone who uses these outdated tools, I have a $50K challenge for ANYONE who thinks shock collars are EVER necessary. In over 3 year, not one person has accepted. Shocking huh?
My dog listen very well I teached him while playing a lot of comandos. I just bought a anti bark shock collars it works with sounds and vibrations on different levels , because I live in a apartment, I don't have very nice neighbour's. I wouldn't bought it if there weren't any complaints. I love him so much. But I just tried everything he a awesome dog, I know when he barks he won't stop voor30 minutes or an hour .. This happens once or twice In a year he is just testing the waters. I know but I can't effort losing the place we live. I would never use a shock, or spray color teaching my dog commandos or tricks .. That's ridiculous. My dog now knows when the collar is on, and he alone home he can't bark. Hope in a couple of months he don't need him anymore. Until he get his phase again.
“Krypto is pulling me because he is dominant”. HAHAHA WTF? Dominance is not a personality trait and has zero basis in modern canine behavioural science. Your husky is pulling because that what huskies have been bred for hundreds of years to do, pull sleds. And secondly because you allow him to pull and have not trained him to walk sensibly on leash. Don’t excuse lack of training with “dominance”.
Because it’s used on the working level... it’s the level that particular dog can barley feel... it differed from dog to dog. Get educated before you comment bullshit
@@nerformance are you ducking kidding me?? I showed you lots of proof and you are the one that called me a piece of shit scum bag... you failed to look at the proof at least 5 links I sent
I used this collar on my dog for excessive barking that was disrupting the neighborhood. I tested it on myself before putting it on him. I'd use sound mode, then vibrate then shock mode. He eventually made the connection and stopped at vibrate. I used this collar because when he's outside barking I couldn't be right there next to him and if I yelled out to him he just thought I was barking too. So when I was in the kitchen making dinner I couldn't drop everything to go out and stop him. This collar is great if used correctly
Encouraging people to use shock collars. Big no and big yikes. Yes I understand people say they can be used "properly", but more often than not you can get better results with positive reinforcement and painless distraction. Knowing results are out there without pain, there is no reason to use pain unless you enjoy it or you're under the misguided idea that it gets faster results. I do train dogs (10+ years) and we specifically refuse prong and shock collars. People should not be encouraged to use these outdated things. A vibrate ONLY collar (has ZERO shock feature) is great for positive reinforcement recall on deaf dogs. The moment you add shock you're doing a disservice.
This is one of the best video I've seen, I just bought a Dr.Trainer Dog Training Collar for my German shepherd. This Training Collar has auto retractable and will not cause irritation to my dog's neck. Also I can record my voice to the system, I can use my voice recording to train my dog, say goodbye to the traditional beep sound for good. So far it seems really effective. All I do is pressing the voice recording button to correct my dogs behavior. We hardly have to use the shock setting.
I'm buying one this week. My dog breaks down a board in my fence and escapes every day. I can't repair the fence every day it's ridiculous. I'm gonna get one and use it on myself to know how it feels, then give it to her.
He should of tried sound for days first, then vibrate if that didn't work. But he went straight for shock becasue he wanted to make this video, or he's a massive idiot
Not true because food fails. The squirrel running across the freeway is going to be more rewarding then food to your dog and I don’t know about you but I don’t want a dead dog
you should start at your home with the e collar so there's less distractions and it's easier for him to listen. also when training recall with an ecollar you start on way lower levels than that. training my alaskan malamute i never have to go over 20. you don't necessarily need to see your dog react he just has to feel the slightest thing to correlate it with his already known commands. cool vid tho haha
Thanks a lot for this video soon to be a first-time pet owner. I must say that look fun having the dog pull you in your skateboard never thought of that.
you let him get too far away for recall to start. And if you can introduce it on pavement or indoors it helps them focus snd learn the language of the collar.
Everyone in the comments has their own opinions and everyone wants to be right. Everyone has different methods of teaching and one method is not going to work with every dog.

That’s is not a training collar, that’s a cheap amazon shock collar. A good ecollar will cost close to $200 and will use a paplovian type stimulation that’s similar to a tens machine used at a chiropractor. If you truly want to get a good training collar the mini educator, and dogtra are good brands that you can trust. You get what you pay for and these are the only collars I really would ever consider if you are educated and know how to use them properly and positively. Good luck.
The Beauty Channel. The ecollar is not a quick fix, and should be used at LOW levels along with treats and lots of praise. Training a dog takes lots of time and patience, and they won’t truly learn if you just turn the dial up and shock them. They will only learn to avoid the stimulation, and will only do what you want because the don’t want to be punished. I personally would only use my ecollar as a security blanket when my dog is off leash, and for things like teaching basic obedience I would just use luring repetition with treats and praise. I don’t think that you should have to rely on the collar, and if you dog is “crazy” then you could try practicing calm behaviors along with incorporating different things that they love to gain their focus.
The Beauty Channel. A lot of the time we humans are the cause of the problem weather that is reinforcing them with pets when the jump up at you, giving them table scraps when they beg, or chasing them when they decide to run off. I would incorporate more structure in your dogs life like crate training when you can’t have eyes on them, avoiding stressful situations, feeding them on a schedule, and asking for certain behaviors before they do things like go outside or get a treat. I would also recommend you give the dog proper exercise both physically and mentally. A lot of the time dogs will act out because they are bored, and with things like chews, interactive puzzles, and toys they are more likely to stay out of trouble. Make sure to give lots of treats and praise and make sure to keep training short and fun so they look forward to it.
maia o Thank You So Much for the information it will help a lot so my dog is around 8 months and I got him from my neighbors I saw him and felt bad for him they would hit him and be aggressive with him so I told them I would pay them to give me the dog I already got him he’s shots and neuter him but he’s very hyper I’m going to take him out more I let him out on the backyard and take him out for walks I try training him and giving him treats wen he’s listening to me. I love this dog and I now it will take lots of time but I want to give him a better life better then the one he had with my mean neighbor oh and also I told my neighbor that if they get a new dog and I see them abusing it I will call the cops ! But thank you so much .
Cycle Candy This is not true in my experience and the experience of many others. I have purchased a pet trainer before, and the shock is definitely a pronounced shock. Brands like Mini Educator are much more mild and use a different kind of stimulation.
I got to give you mad props for managing the dog and the camera and all that gear on a skateboard at that speed on those uneven walking paths. Glad to see you understand your dog's behaviours and you let them enjoy the freedom to wander at the end of a long leash or romp with other mates in the dog park.
I would never want to torture my dog with one of these devices. If you cannot teach your dog not to bark when not needed than don't own a dog. Simple as that. Dogs bark and humans talk. You don't see humans wearing shock collars. Have you tried it yourself on your neck?
A good trainer will use it in the dogs working level wich is a level the dog can barely feel and will show not physical signs of feeling but they can. Because a good trainer realizes dogs are not robots and they make mistakes. A good trainer doesn’t want to know what would happen if their dog ran across a freeway after a squirrel with no fo of communication...
Good stuff, I've got a 2 year old Akita who also has many dominance traits. I've tried everything else, now its time for an electric training collar. Shame I'm too old now for the skateboard, he'd enjoy pulling that!!!
Well that's some dumb shit advice. Positive when they do something you ask, shock when they do something you don't. It's simple. Eventually they will get to a point where they don't need it. But what's important is when you shock, shout a "key word" like "no" or whatever then they'll associate that word with the shock and eventually you will only need to say the word
Contrary to popular misconception even with high voltage an e collar cannot and will not burn skin. It isnt outlet electrocution it's similar technology to a tens unit... it's a muscle stimulator. However the contact points being left on for more than a few hours will cause preassure sores that look similar to burns which helps with the misconception. I train with e collars all the time with my personal dogs and clients dogs as I am a professional dog trainer
@@faithm.4084 Delivering an aversive stimulus to a dog while the same behavior can be trained using positive reinforcement/negative punishment is some kind of abuse. The human chooses to ignore half the facets of operant conditioning to focus on the ones where the dog has to avoid pain.

I have never heard anyone say "piss" more times than I did in this video. Good video though.
Something's bothering me about the way he commands his dog to "sit." Transforms into a Simpsons character or something when he says it.
I was thinking the same thing. Lol Sittt siittt
I love your videos but I don’t really agree with a sock c because I Train my dogs with treats and kindness and my dogs are great well trained but it’s up to you
Some dogs just don’t train well to certain commands even with treats.
Yea same
i dont agree with shock collar
depends on the dog, just like there are calm kids and aggressive ones that don't understand with just being kind.
@@rohitmaheshwari5198 Just because I used the shock setting on my animal once or twice doesn't mean I think of him as my slave. We don't even use the shock anymore. It's not a high voltage, either.
THANK YOU FOR KNOWING THE HORRORS OF SHOCK COLLARS!!

I'll take you on!!
I doubt you’ve managed to save up 50k as a dog trainer 😂😂
You haven’t met my dogs 😒I’m willing to take that bet!

Not so professional. Ecollars are necessary, not for every dog, but definitely for some.
100% true and agreed

People do us it on themselves 😂
They do
I used this collar on my dog for excessive barking that was disrupting the neighborhood.
Yeah
The comments section is full of children and ignorants lmao
What kind of harness do you use on Krypto? I love it! Please let me know. My Freya who is a husky needs a new one.
Dude! Yeah. I would like to know too. Lol my boy and gal need better ones.
Nice pup
Stop torturing him! PUT IT ON VIBRATE.
He should of tried sound for days first, then vibrate if that didn't work. But he went straight for shock becasue he wanted to make this video, or he's a massive idiot
Once the dog gets used to the collar start adding destractions..they need to learn that you are the main dog.
i think the best training is food
Not true because food fails. The squirrel running across the freeway is going to be more rewarding then food to your dog and I don’t know about you but I don’t want a dead dog

Glyn Taylor that no life fot a dog to always be on the leash

Thank you!! Very helpful and educational video!
you should start at your home with the e collar so there's less distractions and it's easier for him to listen. also when training recall with an ecollar you start on way lower levels than that. training my alaskan malamute i never have to go over 20. you don't necessarily need to see your dog react he just has to feel the slightest thing to correlate it with his already known commands. cool vid tho haha
Thanks a lot for this video soon to be a first-time pet owner. I must say that look fun having the dog pull you in your skateboard never thought of that.

@@waniyaplays5429 curious to know why you say that. Because of the static shock in the mist if the dog ever had a unusual behavior as they say

you let him get too far away for recall to start. And if you can introduce it on pavement or indoors it helps them focus snd learn the language of the collar.

Should use a toy that he plays with as a reward for doing the right thing, like when he sits you give him the toy as a reward
And give him some praise and then give him the toy
Why that fuck would you do that huh
That’s is not a training collar, that’s a cheap amazon shock collar. A good ecollar will cost close to $200 and will use a paplovian type stimulation that’s similar to a tens machine used at a chiropractor. If you truly want to get a good training collar the mini educator, and dogtra are good brands that you can trust. You get what you pay for and these are the only collars I really would ever consider if you are educated and know how to use them properly and positively. Good luck.
maia o would it work on a big crazy dog 😭 my dog is the devil . 😭
Tighten the collar for it to actually make contact with the skin
I would never want to torture my dog with one of these devices. If you cannot teach your dog not to bark when not needed than don't own a dog. Simple as that. Dogs bark and humans talk. You don't see humans wearing shock collars. Have you tried it yourself on your neck?
a good trainer does not need one
A good trainer will use the tools given to help perfect a dog
A good trainer will use it in the dogs working level wich is a level the dog can barely feel and will show not physical signs of feeling but they can. Because a good trainer realizes dogs are not robots and they make mistakes. A good trainer doesn’t want to know what would happen if their dog ran across a freeway after a squirrel with no fo of communication...

Good boiiiii
You should not use a shock collar u should using treats and positive reinforcement
Sophie Louise people yea you go try that with a husky and come back here and tell me how it goes
It's not a shock collar you idiot...
Make sure that since you are using a high voltage that you check the area around his skin for and sign of irritation and blistering
