If you don't know I'll tell you. The children in school have been dumbed down by the globalists (communists) who Trump and Putin are fighting. Low IQ's means totally rubbish music as the two go hand in hand. Getting the picture or have you been dumbed down too. Why do you think they tried to assassinate Trump and the Opening Ceremony to the Olympics was a totally Satanic display against God which has caused a worldwide uproar

When I heard this song on Top of the Pops at the beginning of 1970 its simplistic lyrics and backing arrangement made it so special.
Barry Mason who co-wrote the song ranks amongst the country's greatest songwriters, along with Les Read, Geoff Stephens and John Carter, who have left a wonderful musical legacy, and are hardly known to the public. The 1960s and 70s musical output will probably still be popular for the next 50 years given most of it will never seem outdated.

This was first recorded by Geoff Turton (lead singer and rhythm guitarist of The Rockin' Berries) as "Jefferson" but not released until years later.

Tony Burrows, singing lead initially tried to get the single released under his own name but was turned down by the song's writer and producer Tony Macaulay. When "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)" became a hit using session musicians so a group needed to be assembled rapidly to perform the song on this showing of Top of the Pops. The pair found a group called Greenfield Hammer, who a week later appeared on Top of the Pops as 'Edison Lighthouse' to mime to the fastest-climbing number-one hit record in history at that point.

I always thought this song was about my late aunt Rosemary. It's a perferct description of her: "she talks kinda lazy, people think she's crazy and her life's a mystery." That describes her to a tee. She talked lazy, she used to scream at the spirits at night so we all thought she was crazy and her life was a mystery.. Very eerie.

Ah, the good old days when songs had lyrics and you could understand them.
