Now, this is love music! I play it every day for my husband and me, 40 yrs and retired. Life is good, and our old music is still available. Love the girl in this that does the little dance! Everyone who still loves this, give me a thumbs up!!
Its strange how we think when we are young and listening to these guys that we will never get old. Warning to all young people listening to this and the sixties music, it creeps up on you without you realizing. My message to you is to try your best to be happy and find a good partner who can share your life.
Oh Gosh! So wise, and true! I was a kid in the early '70's,. We felt like we would soon be in charge, and would make things better. Now I'm in my early '60's, I've lost so many friends and Family. Life kinda slaps one into reality, we can't change the world. Just little parts of it.
So so true. But when we listen to music like this, we’re instantly transported back to the year when we first heard it and are young again: isn’t that wonderful!
Beatles, Stones, Dylan, Beach Boys, Supremes, S & G, and too many others to list, we had the GODS of popular music, at the height of their creative powers. The entire popular music canon is 95% from the 60s and early 70s. Almost NOTHING has been added in recent decades. 👍
@moody bl bold statement. As much as I love 60s/70s music, really good tunes have been added in these past few years Probably not the most mainstream ones, which I admit are not often excellent
The instrumental is pre recorded in a studio by studio musicians , the guys in this clip didn't play any instruments. Only the singer would go to the studio and sing to the recorded music track. The majority of rock bands never record their own music . The music was usually recorded by studio musicians, such as The Wrecking Crew. The band members only used for publicity to sell records
I'm hearing this version for the first time, and I think it's great. Maybe this version didn't take off in the U.S.? I was only 6 in 1967. The very first version I heard, was the Carl Carlton one in '74. And then I heard the original by Robert Knight on an "Oldies" station sometime in the 80s.😊
Ian Oliver : WOW: that's what you call singing isint it. Great voice. Great song. Sung with gusto, passion and enthusiasm. Loved the backing music too. They don't make em like that any more.
Saw Steve Ellis singing this last week in Aberdeen. Amazingly he’s still got the voice after all these years and put on a brilliant performance. His finale of Rainbow Valley and Everlasting Love was fantastic.
He was just a school kid - and so was his band. Knocks spots off anything you dare try listening to nowadays! (without contracting severe head depression).
Steve went on to play his music (which I loved) and I went on to join the army. The music from the 60’s is just timeless . Glad I got to know him and Rex.
I’m still here listening. Time has passed by, my life has changed, I’m older and not much wiser, but this song is a constant. I still love it and it will always be my favourite. Thank you Steve. X
I can listen to this song anytime. Perfect lyrics! It will always remind me of my early feelings after meeting the girl who would be my “Everlasting Love”. She died from cancer in Feb ‘21. Our “Everlasting Love” is eternal. Thank You Love Affair, for this beautiful song about sincere love & marriage, which is rarely heard about in today’s music.
I always read the comments on oldies like this. Without exception just about everyone connects this tune with a special time in their lives, as is true with me. Ever Lasting Love is probably one of the most covered songs ever. And that pays tribute to how great this tune is.
On a plane back from the USA - bloke next to me introduced himself - started talking - he was the lead singer of Love Affair - my love for him for singing this song will last forever - what a song!
We had a live band for our wedding reception and they did this song that we requested. It’s always been our song. Tears every time I hear it. 44 years together an “everlasting love” great version
"An anthem for an unforgettable music area that will never be repeated." Thank G-d for that! Now as payback I will probably drop dead and reincarnate in the 1960s! Still, my grandma tells me it wasn't all bad - there was Harold Wilson and JFK! and people protested about abortion. No, it was ALL bad!
I'm from 1978 and perhaps I've had just some tears... 😭 this must have been so undescribable great times. I think, I'll call my Dad tomorrow - he's from 1953! ❤️🕺
I used to do the boot fairs in Brighton and shoreham with steve Ellis. Great voice lives just around corner from us in portslade village top bloke 🎤🎤best mates with roger daltrey 🖐
I'm from America and this is the first time I heard this chart topping UK version from late 1967. Much different from the original Robert Knight production. Most people in the US and Canada remember the soulful and dramatically building Carl Carlton 1974 Top Ten hit. Other major hit versions exist BUT this is certainly one of the best versions ever made....Bravo.
I'm here because 1969 in Belfast was my childhood. I'm the same age as Ken and lived about 6 streets away from where he lived. This movie means so much to me. It's my childhood wonderful but terrifying at the same time. I remember this song as a child and reminds me of my childhood years, in the streets of Belfast. To be honest the sense of community back then was second to none. We all looked out for each other. That's gone now. No more sense of community. It definitely takes a village (community) to raise a child. Well done Ken and all the cast of Movie Belfast.
I know exactly what you mean ... and I'm sorry life has changed so much. Keep your faith in people though, you might be surprised ... but keep your guard up as well. It's the way of the world nowadays. 🙏❤
I can't imagine having a such a great community destroyed by religion divide. Did your family leave or did you stayed? I know only so little of history of the IRA, but less on the how communities bonded together.
I visited beloved Ireland 🇮🇪 years ago but I was told to not go to the North because it wasn’t safe… so I stayed in the Southern parts… but I want to visit Belfast so bad… one day I’ll God’s willing! I’m still in awe with this movie #Belfast 🙏🏽🥰🎥😍🍿🙌🏽
It's always amazing when a movie can take a song you've heard your whole life and change its meaning in an instant. Belfast did that for me with this one.

Hi Marilyn, I was 12 when it came out, but still can remember it have been a music nut since I was about 8, and as you said it is hard to believe that voice comes from that young guy
This came out in 67. I was 16 and there were loads of great U K groups on the scene. When I first heard this I thought great song but what a singer. Steve Ellis legend.
Great music and so refreshing to read the comments who loved 60s music then and now. My 72 birthday today and still groovin' covid or no covid life is for living and loving! Stay safe keep cool and be rocking. Love you all JJ Wolves
A masterpiece with one of the best intros to a song ever. The lovely Steve Ellis has it all, charisma, confidence and a wonderful voice. Such maturity from a 17 year old. Why hasn't this joyful song never been re-released?
The song has been covered many times...in the 70's by Carl Carlton with a cool disco beat....you can utube his soul train clip...in the 80's with a forgetable duet by Rex Smith and Rachel sweet and in the 90's with Gloria Estefan which is kinda disappointing considering Gloria is a fantastic singer.....there were more but not worth mentioning....I'd say this version is my favorite but Carl's is a very cool sounding beat...
No auto tune, no whiz bang electronics pure talent! I am so glad I lived through the 60's and till now. I am also 73 and remember this song so well. Just think this chap with talent oozing from him, Bee Gees, Diana Ross, Righteous Bros, Dione Warwick and on and on and on, Mamas and the Papas, Tommy James wow wow wow. oh and Whitney wow again. God bless you ❤️❤️❤️
GOOD DAY TO YOU MY FRIEND FROM A FELLOW RHONDDA VALLEY TAFF.
The words say it all though.forever.God bless
@@richardyoung7415 Hello my friend,how are you 🏴🏴
❤
Now, this is love music! I play it every day for my husband and me, 40 yrs and retired. Life is good, and our old music is still available. Love the girl in this that does the little dance! Everyone who still loves this, give me a thumbs up!!
Hello Pat, How are you doing?
I have OCD about this video
I love this too Pat theres some great songs from years ago not the so called songs they play now they say the words now rather than sing them 👍😘
you keep it strong
You are so sexy
Its strange how we think when we are young and listening to these guys that we will never get old. Warning to all young people listening to this and the sixties music, it creeps up on you without you realizing. My message to you is to try your best to be happy and find a good partner who can share your life.
Oh Gosh! So wise, and true! I was a kid in the early '70's,. We felt like we would soon be in charge, and would make things better. Now I'm in my early '60's, I've lost so many friends and Family. Life kinda slaps one into reality, we can't change the world. Just little parts of it.
blimey that is so true.
So so true. But when we listen to music like this, we’re instantly transported back to the year when we first heard it and are young again: isn’t that wonderful!
And most importantly don’t get tied up about aging. It’s the one thing we all do no matter who. And nothing can stop it. So relax.
What a lovely comment and so true!
Steve Ellis a damn fine singer!
This song has been on my playlist forever! Everlasting love! Everlasting joy! Long live the 60's!
I can't help but say that the music of my era was, and still is, the best.
Definitely
and always will be no question
Beatles, Stones, Dylan, Beach Boys, Supremes, S & G, and too many others to list, we had the GODS of popular music, at the height of their creative powers. The entire popular music canon is 95% from the 60s and early 70s. Almost NOTHING has been added in recent decades. 👍
@moody bl bold statement. As much as I love 60s/70s music, really good tunes have been added in these past few years
Probably not the most mainstream ones, which I admit are not often excellent
Everyone thinks the music of their youth was the best…..because everything was new to them
How did a group of such young guy's sound so brilliant? I'm 67 and still love this track. X
Because the sound was already made for them its not their song. His voice does fit the song but the instrument sound was done already
a singer and a backing track
That instrumental track however, wasn't taken from a computer, but arranged & played by real life musicians, and brilliantly so!
Actually the singer was the only one to play an instrument on the track as well as singin
This was British pop back in the 60s - nothing comes better!! I loved this song - still do!!!
Anything else was trash.
"I loved this song - still do!!!"
My father loved this song. Then he grew up. You should too!
Agree Seemed to be popular at the time for ages Love it
Ian Oliver : WOW: that's what you call singing isint it. Great voice. Great song. Sung with gusto, passion and enthusiasm. Loved the backing music too.
They don't make em like that any more.
Great single, but not British. Was recorded by Robert Knight originally
One of the best records ever made. Simple as that.
Twice cancer suffer, I'll beat this again. Going back to my youth. Brilliant memories. ♥ everyone
I wish you all the luck in the world.
You got this 😊
Stay strong ❤

Stay strong.thinking of you ❤️
All the best buddy
Great band. What a voice that young Steve Ellis had.
True That!!
Brilliant
Absolutely fanbloodytastic. ❤❤
I’m still here listening. Time has passed by, my life has changed, I’m older and not much wiser, but this song is a constant. I still love it and it will always be my favourite. Thank you Steve. X

Those were the days.....no internet,no mobile phones...but much better music than what we have today....the music was our life.

this is fantastic, i am 63 and living a fantastic life, anyone out there that feels the same,
I can listen to this song anytime.
So sorry for your loss xx

This song has a world record.. Only song a top 40 hit in the 1960's, 1970's, 1980's and 1990's. Now who's listening?

Great song, fantastic vocals and band !
Yes, perfection created .
Yes but the singer(Steve Ellis) was the only one who performed on the record. The rest where just session performers
My girlfriend and I used to dance to this when it first came out.we celebrate 50 years of marriage in may.
Gratulations to both of you!

Congrats! 50 years. I still remember the 60s and 70s - some great tunes but this one still has quite some punch to it.
Brilliant
Me too, I am 70. Absolutely loved this group. They have an innocence about them back then
Bless you!
Some songs are ‘feel good’, this one excels beyond that, never fails to brings a smile during the first opening beats.
I always read the comments on oldies like this. Without exception just about everyone connects this tune with a special time in their lives, as is true with me.
Ever Lasting Love is probably one of the most covered songs ever. And that pays tribute to how great this tune is.
My moment was when I was severely constipated for 4 days then finally took a massive dump.

You cant teach someone to sing like that. You are born with it.
That is a fact, either you can, or you can't.
On a plane back from the USA - bloke next to me introduced himself - started talking - he was the lead singer of Love Affair - my love for him for singing this song will last forever - what a song!

So lucky
What a story .. what an experience … soooo good
Omg
wonderful! was he a nice guy?
We had a live band for our wedding reception and they did this song that we requested. It’s always been our song. Tears every time I hear it. 44 years together an “everlasting love” great version
Heard this song tonight on Belfast and believe, this is one of the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard in my life.
This is white Motown music. What a great sound!
This simply sums up the 60’s musical extravaganza. An anthem for an unforgettable music area that will never be repeated.
"An anthem for an unforgettable music area that will never be repeated."
Thank G-d for that! Now as payback I will probably drop dead and reincarnate in the 1960s! Still, my grandma tells me it wasn't all bad - there was Harold Wilson and JFK! and people protested about abortion. No, it was ALL bad!
Can’t believe how lucky we were to be young in the 60’s
Maureen i think the same as you ,, i adore these guys ,,the 60s era will always be so special to me memories to cherish FOREVER XX
60s tour 2021 steve ellis will be there other 60s too music was good 60s definitely takes us back

A timeless and beautiful tune. Glad to see the movie Belfast has brought it back into the mainstream
And also 'And the healing has begun' from Van the man.
👍
I used to do the boot fairs in Brighton and shoreham with steve Ellis. Great voice lives just around corner from us in portslade village top bloke 🎤🎤best mates with roger daltrey 🖐
Belfast is the most underrated movie I've ever seen.
Belfast got RAVE reviews and critical acclaim, not to mention it just came out, HOW is it underrated? I think underrated is an overused term
I had to come here after watching Belfast. That couple dancing and the awed-eyes of their young son really moved me!!!!!
Such a romantic song. Steve Ellis had a great voice.

To right
I'm from America and this is the first time I heard this chart topping UK version from late 1967. Much different from the original Robert Knight production. Most people in the US and Canada remember the soulful and dramatically building Carl Carlton 1974 Top Ten hit. Other major hit versions exist BUT this is certainly one of the best versions ever made....Bravo.
It's *THE* best for me, Jeff.
Agree, this is dah BEST version. Sometimes a cover is better than the original, & this one is proof.
I like this one the best
prefer the Carl Carlton version, but obviously this one means something to the Brits
Wow just wow
love this so much talent. your the man steve
At sixteen, Steve Ellis had a presence beyond his years. A look and voice that demands your attention. What a talent!

I could not believe that this teenager had a voice like that . I am 58yrs gone and I used to listen to this on the radio many years ago . I was shocked when I found out.

Eres muy wapa
Hi Marilyn, I was 12 when it came out, but still can remember it have been a music nut since I was about 8, and as you said it is hard to believe that voice comes from that young guy
This came out in 67. I was 16 and there were loads of great U K groups on the scene. When I first heard this I thought great song but what a singer. Steve Ellis legend.
This has got to be one of the best dance floor fillers ever and it’s just a brilliant song and he’s a great singer , end of .
Shame that music is not around much now they were the best years great music unlike today's so called music

A masterpiece with one of the best intros to a song ever. The lovely Steve Ellis has it all, charisma, confidence and a wonderful voice. Such maturity from a 17 year old. Why hasn't this joyful song never been re-released?
Check the syntax in your last sentence. You are, essentially asking ‘why has this song been released’.
Here well said my dear
The song has been covered many times...in the 70's by Carl Carlton with a cool disco beat....you can utube his soul train clip...in the 80's with a forgetable duet by Rex Smith and Rachel sweet and in the 90's with Gloria Estefan which is kinda disappointing considering Gloria is a fantastic singer.....there were more but not worth mentioning....I'd say this version is my favorite but Carl's is a very cool sounding beat...
@@richardtaylor2357 You saying Sandra is not worth mentioning? Oo
@@Usul75 Her version was terrible...you must be joking right....and the video is laughable...
