As a 60s teenager this song brings a mental picture album of the late 60s that can know be recognised as the beat era to have grown up in. Full employment, limited TV, that meant most went socially to pubs and clubs for friendship. Everything like hospitals, police stations, bus and rail services were available in all our towns and cities. And the range of music still popular today.
Steve absolutely nails the emotion in this song, you can hear that there is smoothness, there is soul, there is sentiment, there is passion and above there is a beautiful rasp sound in his voice.
