His video of "The Floral Dance" always has me in stitches, half way through he sort of corpses as if to say "Why am I here, singing this song? Oh well, better carry on." A great man.

I'm so sorry! You were only 12 then! My youngest sister was 16, and getting in a bit of bother, so she wasn't in a good place then. We lost her as well 8 years ago when she was 59, to a very aggressive cancer, that the doctors missed for too long.
My Aunt passed away in October of this year, 94 yrs . this song was played at the end of the funeral..obviously a favourite of hers...God Bless Auntie, til we meet again...❤🙏🕯✝️🇬🇧

Those times were great. I remember getting snowed in for 3 weeks at a time when I was a child. We even had 5 foot snow drifts as well. . This video was filmed somewhere on Dartmoor and as I grew up on the edge of Dartmoor we would often get snow. That's something I miss now.

I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting David Essex, in the early 1970s, when he was performing in Godspell, I was in a Youth Choir back then, the whole Choir went to see David in Godspell, because we were going to perform Jesus Christ Superstar, in our local Catholic Church, and we were seeing how to perform in a play like this, Memorable time! This song should have been a Number One.

My ninety nine year old aunt loves this track. She let on that she did so way back in 1995 when i was playing it when putting Christmas decorations up. I managed to buy it for her from a record shop i used to go to but got HORRIBLY skitted by the boy behind the counter for buying this David Essex single, i having bought such as Pink Floyd, David Bowie and Rainbow, from the shop. Oh and by the way, Aunt is still alive.

I caught David again briefly the other day in the thriller Assault (1971) as a biker.

My ninety nine year old aunt loves this track. She let on that she did so way back in 1995 when i was playing it when putting Christmas decorations up. I managed to buy it for her from a record shop i used to go to but got HORRIBLY skitted by the boy behind the counter for buying this David Essex single, i having bought such as Pink Floyd, David Bowie and Rainbow, from the shop.
Oh and by the way, Aunt is still alive.
