The small monitor on top of the steering column is a safety feature called Driver Attention Warning (DAW) to monitor for driver drowsiness or inattentive driving. I love the haters of the back design, I like the design for a couple of reasons. It doesn't look like every other SUV on the road, and the lower light design serves to make the vehicle look weightier and closer to the ground.

I bought the Calligraphy model and love it. Every feature that I want is there and it is so comfortable. I realize that it is a large step up in price that everyone can't pay but even the base models are really nice and drive well.
I bought a ‘24 Santa Fe and really like it. I love the design because it is different from other SUVs. They are all beginning to look the same and the Santa Fe could never be accused of copying the look of another vehicle. The drive and ride is amazing. Surprisingly on coming traffic many times thinks I have my high beams on when I don’t so apparently people find the low beams are bright. The one complaint I have about this SUV is that the climate control / fan speed screen is virtually impossible to see on a bright sunny day which are usually hot summer days when you need the AC. I have to drive to a shaded area to try and see the lighting on the climate control / fan screen. Very inconvenient and badly designed. Other than that I love the vehicle and am very impressed my Calligraphy has every and/more than my ‘21 Range Rover for more than half the cost. Very impressive Hyundai.
8:09 "better than a Genesis". Thank you. I was debating between a 2025 ioniq 5 vs pre-owned Genesis gv60 vs 2024 Santa Fe. The headlights are gonna be the tie breaker.
Firstly guy’s so glad your vehicle has a new 8-speed DCT, and everything is working now. And this night view of your new Santa Fe SEL is impressive. The Santa Fe with its amazing LED lighting is just WOW! Hyundai is masterful when it comes to the lighting on their vehicles. Owned 3 so I should know. They make sure everything inside the vehicle is well lit. All the gadges and displays use a blue lighting which is the best color for night time viewing as well as safety wise. Incredible views guy’s. Will continue watching your vids to see how your new Santa Fe holds up as time goes by. Then I’ll make my decision on whether or not to trade in my 2019 Tucson Ultimate. But this New 2024 Santa Fe at least to my eyes and obviously yours as well is a winner in all respects and should sell really well for Hyundai. 🚙
The digital display is literally my only gripe.....currently own a 2019...same SEL trim, with a bigger display. Still plan on getting one next year though lol. Great review!!!
3:43 - where did you hear that auto dimming exterior mirrors are available in higher trims? I’ve reviewed the manual, spec sheet, and features sheet, and none of them indicate there will be auto dimming side view mirrors available in any trim of the new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe. As far as I can tell, the self-dimming exterior mirrors are only available in the Korean version with the digital rearview mirror option. Would like to be wrong on this though, I love self-dimming exterior mirrors. 12:26 - From everything I have read and seen, there will be no massaging seats in higher trims of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe in North America. Hyundai calls them “Ergo Motion Seats” and they are only available in the highest trim of the international version. You can tell because in videos of the calligraphy version the ergo motion seat button on the door above the memory buttons is omitted. I was behind a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe on my way into work today and I didn’t mind the low taillights. Seeing it in person I thought it was interesting that the tailgate body panels curve inward at the bottom and it makes the wheel wells look more prominent from behind. Just an interesting perspective I never noticed until I saw it in person. Not a fan of all the capacitive touch elements on the infotainment and overhead. Would have preferred more switches/toggles like the knurled ones on the steering wheel. These capacitive touch elements are on piano black and are fingerprint magnets in the daytime. One thing that does disappoint me is the rear turn signal indicators are red instead of amber. All international versions of the vehicle will have amber turn signals and they make the most logical sense but here in north America we can have weird red rear turn signal indicators for some reason. Sad the exterior mirror puddle lamps were omitted from this version as they were an option in the outgoing model.
Mason misspoke, there are no auto-dimming mirrors. We look forward to getting hands-on with the Calligraphy soon to investigate all the American features 👍
I miss the ambient lighting in my XRT that I had with my 2014 Durango but that’s a minor quibble. I like the exterior lighting and especially the headlights! Good video!
Oh and thanks for the tip on the cargo light - I totally missed it. Apparently, the dealer did too as the light still has the protective tape covering it lol
That’ll nice that it’s all LED lighting on the exterior. It never makes any sense when manufacturers go all out with LED lighting and then throw in incandescent bulbs randomly. Makes no sense.
I like the looks. I think it looks great from the rear 3/4. That square back makes for lots of space and gives it a genuine wagon profile. My problem is the almost flush mounted bumper. That looks like an expensive repair just waiting to happen.
I always loved the looks on Hyundai Santa Fes since the first gen. And this current model is nice all around up until I see the back. I can't even want to like the back on this Santa Fe. It probably wouldn't be enough to disuade me from getting one as I have had excellent ownership experience with Hyundais but its polarizing to say the least. It reminds me of the Ssangyong Rodius in the rear. I really hope it looks better in person.

I have a brand new 2024 Santa Fe and the interior lights don't work when the door opens. You can only turn them on manually. Hyundai doesn't have the part available yet. Disappointing.
Whatmodel do you have? Is there not an overhead console (above the rear view mirror) with multiple buttons, one activating the lights on when doors open?
@@scottintexas SEL The overhead console has a button that is supposed to keep the lights off when the door is opened. If it's depressed, there's an orange light that comes on but it's not depressed, meaning the lights are supposed to come on when the doors open. The only way I can turn them on is manually. Just picked it back up yesterday from the dealer and they said Hyundai says the part (some module) is on backorder and there's no ETA for arrival.
Good review. I looked at a Limited model today. Wanted to see how it compared to my Mazda CX-90. Basically, the only model I could buy would have to be a Limited or higher. Some nice features, especially the ambient lighting (one of the most striking things about the vehicle as well as the thigh extensions in the Calligraphy. Also, some things just looked cheap in appearance and feel. However, the utility of the interior blows the CX-90 away so many more nooks and crannies for those long road trips (except for the space behind the 3rd row, it is minuscule, less than the old CX9. ) Also, the Mazda even the lesser trims look more luxurious….Except at night… Santa Fe ambient lighting at night is comparable to a premium luxury vehicle, ambient lighting in the Mazda sucks. Overall, I think my Mazda is a better vehicle, more luxurious and premium, with better gas mileage. However, I think the gadgets and wow factor of the Santa Fe will likely hurt Mazda CX-90 sales.
@@CarConfections You guys went from Sonata to Santa Fe. I went from K5 and just picked up the 2024 Sorrento SX Prestige. Your review on the Sorrento helped me ALOT so thank you!
Sure thing! When it comes to bold lighting, there are a few different ways you can achieve that striking effect. One option is to use strong, directional lighting to create dramatic shadows and highlights. This can be done with spotlights or by positioning your light source at a specific angle. Another approach is to experiment with vibrant colored lights or even light projections to add an extra pop to your space. Just remember, bold lighting can really make a statement and set the mood in any room or photo. So go ahead and get creative with your lighting choices! 🌟💡
The red rear turn signals are unacceptable and need to be illegal already. I've seen non-USDM vehicles and they have proper amber rear turn signals. What happened during transit to North America causing the downgrade to ambiguous and less effective and safe taillights? I don't understand how the US DOT allows red turn signals and why manufacturers unnecessarily capitulate to US DOT substandards. All turn signals, front, side and rear are amber, without exception.
Y’all gonna get robbed with these night reviews! And it ain’t take a genius to know that this car doesn’t have enough rizz for a phat ebony queen like me! Benz or Bimmer only boo!!!!!

What year is your cx90
I like the car the rear is killing me I do t like the rear the rest of the car is really nice e
i can't wait to my Santa fe calligraphy come out April
Buying a car without ambient lighting is now a crime in 2024
New whips @Night!
Did you have the high beams on while it was parked?
No
Nice truck. I'm just curious as to why the SEL model? Just seems like a waste to get a truck that lacks amenities.
Most people dont care about all the bells and whistles, they just want something affordable that has what they need.
Thanks. We wanted to stay under $40,000, it still has most of the good amenities we wanted, and SEL is the most popular trim people buy
@@CarConfections You guys went from Sonata to Santa Fe. I went from K5 and just picked up the 2024 Sorrento SX Prestige. Your review on the Sorrento helped me ALOT so thank you!
@@richardcaranante3497 congrats! Glad we could help!
Finally we’re able to rip off the floating roof design from Land Rover
They should have concentrated more on designing a transmission that didn't fail within days of delivery. Just sayin'....
I would have bought one if the tail lights were higher. I just don’t like the look.
Not buying this car who's transmission has always been its biggest flaw.
the hybrid trim uses a different transmission (6 speed auto) and gets 34mpg, so if you're interested in the car but hate the DCT just get the hybrid
You need a new logo.
Okay please talk about the reliability issues
See the previous two Santa Fe videos for info about that
Models Impacted by Toyota Transmission Problems
Attorneys assembling a class action lawsuit against Toyota as of September 2020 have identified the following vehicles that are struggling with the transmission issues listed above:
2017 to 2020 Toyota Highlander
2017 to 2020 Toyota Sienna
2018 to 2020 Toyota Avalon
2019 Toyota RAV4
A defender copy
It should of had flood lights
It would be better if Hyundai focused on building more reliable cars and repairing their reputation rather than creating fancy designs. It would be a good idea for them to learn from Toyota and Honda about reliability.
FEBRUARY 2024🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
More than 600,000 Toyota pickup trucks and SUVs in the United States were voluntarily recalled over the past week because of different issues that could increase the risk of crashes, the vehicle manufacturer said.
The first announcement, on Feb. 21, stated that about 280,000 vehicles, including Toyota Tundra, Tundra Hybrid and Lexus LX600 vehicles from the model years 2022-2024 and Sequoia Hybrid vehicles issued from 2023-2024, were recalled because “certain parts of the transmission may not immediately disengage when the vehicle is shifted to the neutral position,” Toyota said in a statement.

@@brianb7844while that may be true. Even the most reliable manufacturers have that needle in the haystack lemon. Unfortunately for Hyundai it happened to car reviewers.
CVT = sucks
It has a DCT actually. But those suck too. 😂
@@Brian_Eugene_Lee True. The CVT in my Accord is actually not that bad. It doesn't buck and shudder like the Optima I traded for it - soured me on DCTs.
That rear end is hideous
NAH, BETTER LOOKNIG THAN THE REAR END OF YOUR MOMMA
This vehicle is UGLY! Minivan meets an SUV. I have a Hyundai now and it was my first and last Hyundai. Technology features are bug ridden and they are unreliable. Transmission issues have plagued Hyundai for years. Not to mention the horrible dealerships. There is a reason dealerships are backed up months because they are busy with warranty claims.
What model Hyundai?
Literally The Ugliest vehicle ever. Hate it.
This car so ugly and terrible
It will cost $40K to replace the lights when they burn out.
