#Hyundai #Santafe - Авто/Мото
Great job as always Tommy&Alex , a viewer of both channels since day 1!
Great review and collab with Alex . You work well together and don't talk over each other .. Some do ! Nice work !
The designer was like, "Alright, let me explain the back, because I'm tired of you mofos complaining about it." 😂😂😂
Well, the back sucks…
@@jacobhamm5471 So does the G-Wagon. But everyone wants one. Go figure!
It's a bit weird, but I like to see designers going out on a limb like this. It's different enough to get away with copying Defender in certain areas. All that said, I'd never buy one for myself.
"Listen we ripped off Land Rover OK?"
@Jev55 Everyone is ripping off from each other. Including cell phones...lol.
The reason for the manual part of the captains chair is so someone isn't standing outside in the rain 🌧 while a motor slowly glides the seat forward or back.
Tommy and Alex; my favorite presenters. Great job! I really like your interactions. Thanks for showing the new car. It looks sick and I'm loving it. The hidden bin is a nice touch.
Great job guys! I watch both of your channels and it was twice as fun watching you review together. "prophylactic" for my remote 🤣
That piano black on the wheel arches must look amazing after some off-road driving and many washes xD
I love the olive green accents on the interior, but not with the brass matte outside 🤨
It's been a while since we've had an Alex/Tommy review . . . good to see.
Great video guys! 👏
Is pre-ordering avail for the hybrid yet?
Such a nicely packaged vehicle. The olive green interior was totally unexpected. I like it with the white upholstery. I'm so sick of generic black and gray interiors. My major gripe is that the front looks like a 2008 Ford Flex and the rear looks like a Geo Metro. That said, I think it's still a stylish and interesting vehicle. Hyundai does a great job putting a lot of thought into its interiors. A lot of clever touches. They've been that way for a long time. They just do good interiors. I'm leery of that standard powertrain though.
The rear turn signals on the Korean brands have, what I think, the most dangerous setup! If you are two cars behind one Korean car turning, you cannot see it! Dangerous!
Love the purse holder. It's my favorite feature of my current Hyundai Santa Fe, and I'm so glad to see it in this model. After all, close to half of all drivers carry a purse!
I must’ve missed that, and not finding anything about it in a search. Where’s that at? I’ve a 2023 atm.
The manual sliding rear seat is much better over power. There is nothing worse than standing in the rain, waiting for the power seat to move so that you can get in. I wish more vehicles would come with this on the drivers seat where one driver is short and the other is tall.
I want my power seats! Leave those options for poverty spec trims!
I agree, electronics aren't always automatically better. I feel the same way about rear liftgates which are super slow and can't be operated manually
Agree but the lever should be positioned more in the center
Came here to say the same thing. Not everything needs to be powered
So, this is a 6 seater? Also, if they ever make a real life version of the SImpsons, Alex on Autos needs to play Smithers.
Yes but I believe certain trims you can get a 3 person bench in the middle row.
He is definitely Smithers.
6 seater is only Calligraphy trim exclusive. The rest of the trims gets a bench second row.
LOL
only the highest trim (calligraphy) comes with capt seats in second row. the rest are bench.
Great Colab! Need more of these!! Great car, I want the hybrid!
Great overview gentlemen, some very nice interior features. Nice package.
This is a really good review & perspective on this new Santa Fe.
Is it available at Best Buy?
I think you did a great job with the redesign. The boxy look is sick. Great job. You will sell a lot of those
The mouth breathers in every Hyundai video comment section bashing Kia/Hyundai quality never cease to disappoint.
What quality lmao
It’s usually around 10 am when all the mouth breathers begin to comment, which is when they usually get up and crawl out of the basement😅😂
@@whyallthefuss201Your the fool that supports junk like this smh
@user-do9ir8lv2m What's your proof? Easy to parrot some BS you heard on the interwebs.
@@user-do9ir8lv2m Thanks for proving my point. 🤣
I love the body shape. Just wish they had put in a split tailgate.
Thanks for the in-depth review!
I just saw one in person yesterday amd its awesome looking in person
The Hyundai Deflexer.
Tell the designers, "Eyes on your own paper, please!"
Absolutely love the body styling and the modern interior, but that transmission... They have a perfectly adequate 8 Speed Automatic. Hyundai, if you are reading this, use that one!! The dual clutch has no business being in an SUV. This isn't a sports car. Switch out that transmission then we can talk. Plus there is already another RUclips channel (Car Confec.) that purchased one of these and immediately suffered a transmission failure.
Yeah luckily I wanted the hybrid and the hybrid only comes with the standard they honestly should completely recall this entire transmission there is no way anyone should buy it the hybrid is from the previous Jen Santa Fe which is fine but the buy for this one is getting the Hybrid engine which comes out in a couple months just because of the traditional tranny
Did u update the transmission issues?
Tommy and Alex, what do you think... Does this new generation Hyundai Santa Fe model have a four wheel drive system "more advanced", better vs compared to the previous generation Hyundai Santa Fe HTRAC AWD four wheel drive system?.
If Lego built a Ford Flex
Love my Ford Flex 2009, looks like I finally found its replacement
Took the words right out of my mouth
I thought the same!!!
Don’t see the ford flex , keep seeing this comment
Lower tail lights remind me of the malibu wagon of the 1980s.
Which was ugly btw.
Oh yeah!@@krane15
It’s growing on me
Reminds me of the geo metro hatchback from 1990s though obv the Malibu wagon came first.
That looks superb 👌
I test drove it today. The car is solid. Thinking about buying one
You'll have to come back and tell us how you get on with it. I'm thinking of getting one too.
I didn't know anything about this car and I drove past it thinking, "what the heck is that? It looks like maybe a Land Rover?"
Then I got close and saw the Hyundai badge and was blown away! It looks great, and with a 10 year warranty? It's pretty much a no-brainer.
Good video. Hopefully they refresh the Palisade to have about 6" deeper trunk to separate it and make it more usable.
I have the AWD Staria van in Aust. They keep saying they are building these vehicles for rugged conditions.
But the shortcoming I experience is the rear diff needs to be lockable like the VW 4motion does. It would take these vehicles to the next level.
I believe his family used to own a daihatsu hijet and he loved it much
Gotta admit that flexible center console seems awesome! That said I’m still on the fence about the rear and taillights…I really don’t like vehicles with turn signals in the rear bumper and on top of that the taillights are so low. Hurts visibility of them to me. Reminds me of the NPC vehicles in your old computer car or truck driving games 😅
Good to see Alex on Autos input.
The 2021 Sorento with the 2.5 T-GDI gets better than EPA estimated MPG in my experience, and has a lot of pep. Substantially more fun to drive. However, DO NOT get the Turbo with FWD only unless you like to do one wheel burn outs on wet ground or every turn. Car is gorgeous and love the design.
They really Command C and Command V designs and elements from the Defender and Bronco
Do a lot of remote starters and hitches on these! We will find out! Great video!
Don't need 3rd party remote starters anymore. The fob will start from 30 feet, and the phone app will start from anywhere as long as there's at least 4G coverage.
I saw a couple of these on a recent trip to Arizona and was like “what the hell is that thing”. Should’ve watched the videos first 😂
I was undecided on the looks until I saw one in person in a parking lot and it looks a LOT better in person. Very cool looking. As luck would have it the owner was walking up to it and I asked her about it and she loves it. Traded in a Durango for it.
Uh, I distinctly ordered the Antarctic Blue Super Sports Wagon with CB and rally fun pack, not the Family Truckster!
junk
Antarctic blue? Not the metallic pea??
You hate it now, wait till you drive it!
Front ground clearance? Rear looks odd with those low lights
😂 hehehe the hidden bin… nice to see you guys having fun doing this review together
The biggest miss on the entire redesign, should not have a 3rd row. Its too small/tight and if you do use it, you lose all the storage you need...
I'll gladly take the cargo space, but get rid if the 3rd row. Its heavy, complex and eats cargo space. Could have saved 2-300lbs off the curb weight.
We love our 22 Santa Fe, even over our 22 Outback. The 2.5T engine with the dual clutch transmission is great. And I agree about the hybrid drivetrain. A mechanical AWD system is better.
Wait till the clutch wears out in stop and go traffic and you find it is not included in the 10 yr power train warranty. Experienced transmission shops don’t want to touch DCTs. Ask around. Too many issues. A new transmission is $8k from the dealer.
Hyundai guy was super cool. Proud owner of a '24 Santa Cruz
What's coefficient of drag? 2.99 or higher
Man! I love this color
You know, I had honestly forgotten about the new Sante Fe.
I think I'll put it on my list, though. Its got the space I want and the styling i want, but it lacks the offroad capability. That said the only vehicle that checks all my boxes is the R2 and it starts at 45 for a 2wd so... yeah.
Hmm, 50k for the hybrid. Maybe I will just budget for the Rivian and go full EV
How about 32 inch tires like the xrt concept? Do you think they would fit? Rub? Hyundai should offer a ford bronco type Sasquatch option. The look is so much better in the concept.
Called my insurance company to ask about how my rates would hike if I were to buy a mk8 GTI and the lady said newer cars give discounts because of the safety features…. She then added that the only vehicles to stay away from were Kia and Hyundai lol. She just randomly said that. An insurance lady lol. The bad rap is real! lol
Insurance company claims that notion because it’s in fact an easier vehicle for criminals to grab and go
She is right on Kia and hyundai (blanket bans due to theft). New cars are not cheaper then used cars to insure.
What’s funny is that both Hyundai and Kia vehicles are not the most stolen vehicles (Chevy truck, Ford truck, Honda, Honda, Hyundai, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, GMC truck, and Honda in that order) and people just can’t help bashing them with bias information (Insurance Information Institute). Did that insurance lady also tell you to stay away from the Hondas and pick up trucks?
If it has push start it’s fine. She doesn’t know.
it's fine from a theft point but still may not be fine from a breakin or insurance point @@cbet25
Looks good!
The tail lights remind me of one of those old Geo Metros from the early 90s.
14:30 i was really looking forward to an awkward discussion about the bi glovebox. But you got there...
We are now on our fifth Huanday vehicle , they have worked nearly flawlessly.
Next gen the tail lights that burn out extremely frequently will be on the bumper itself. Helpful when the engine blows up
I bought the Santa Fe but there is one thing I wish they would have gave us more of is on the steering wheel controls. There's not enough. They gave you two basically hot keys for minimal selection
Looks good in that matte bronze, not so much in white.
Gotta admit I like the new design. Looks good and the interior seems nice too. Not a fan of the low rear lights tho. Needs to be higher up, but i guess thats the trade off for having a flat vertical rear hatch. Throw some beefy offroad tires and a lift kit and this baby will be 🔥 🔥
"What was Hyundai thinking when they designed the new Santa Fe?" From the looks of it, they were 99.9% thinking 'Ford Flex'.
Looks way more like a Landrover Defender. The Ford Flex just felt like a minivan crammed into a box shape to stand out. To me, the Flex was big and ugly. This is smaller and actual has some character to its looks anotherwords, it's not just a big box shape for no real reason like the flex.
@@loneponderer495l;ol, have you seen a ford flex? look at the two side by side...they are identical.
@jamisonjamisonx Yes, I have many times. They're only look indentical if you're blind.
Those 2 flat rectangles on the front bumper open when you start it! My daughter pointed that out to me lol
I love it the new design. Good on Hyundai for making a big change and making a good looking car. I applaud them for not being so "safe" and making a drastic change. Makes it exciting instead of just tiny little changes.
They definitely nailed the design on the upper trims
Nice blue iPhone case where can I get that ?
Speaking as a Honda Element owner, I approve of this message.
My mom has a 2022 Telluride SX Prestige, It is a great vehicle best part is it was paid off day one.
Video on the HHDA?
digital key requires you to touch the door with the phone or an apple watch, doesnt work passively or with android watch (at least not yet). i thought it worked passively as well so i even opened a ticket with hyundai who could not find any supporting docs for that feature. funny thing is i received a placard advertising passive unlocks, engine starts and locks with all the other vehicle literature and the backside of the placard is in korean. hopefully that feature makes it to the states.
I love the crossover with you guys and Alex. Awesome work!
I like it ,big ups to the designer especially the brown
I think it's a very compelling design and the interior is nice but the rear of the vehicle and the low blinkers I don't like.. if the designers would raise the tail lights and incorporate a blinker in them it would be good..
Sweet! A Bourbon bar location built in the center console! HAA
What “hype”?
Is this reliable suv or brand?
same engine in santa cruz as well
I can see the handle for the roof rack to be a major rust problem. hopefully, they place a drain hose and waterproof.
i still think the 2013~2015 santa fe are best looking models Hyundai has ever had.
the rear from the new Santa Fe reminds me of its from an old Geo Metro....
I have owned three Santa Fe’s and I have loved each of them.
But I think this is the first one with the DCT transmission. So time will tell if it's reliable
Just one thing, remember when you're demonstrating features or showing cubbies in the car pause for a second, remover your hand and any items, to give viewers time to clearly see down inside unobstructed and to hit playback pause. Viewers look for things such as latches, USB, lights, padding, etc.
For example, the more bins the better. But sometimes its so dark you can't tell if the bins are lined or not. An unlined bin means constant rattling of anything you put in them. Like the glove box wasn't lined.
@18:05 the light are definitely too low. Especially signal light which need to be the highest lights. One more thing, don't say Alex so much.
The problem is the powertrain.
The SUV I want but Puerto Rico 34% tax on cars will rise the price to almost $70,000. Will buy an used Tucson instead
The styling is gorgeous, but I don't trust the mechanical bits to be reliable
Car Comfections (another RUclips channel) had their transmission act up at only 27 miles. Hyundai has since replaced the transmission though.
I’d say this if it’s not Hyundai will stand behind it. The engine troubles they were having were warrantied for 150k plus miles if you had the free tsb done they would warranty no questions asked. I have a 2013 sante fe that the engine went out on I bought it with the bad engine got the engine replaced at Hyundai out of warranty as the tsb had not been done on my vehicle the engine now has a lifetime warranty through Hyundai.
I agree. I need to buy a small 3-row before September. I love the styling and tech in the Santa Fe. But it's not in my list of serious considerations because of the reliability and owner satisfaction data from Consumer Reports. The Car Confections incident just reinforced my decision to stay away. I'm a software engineer and I love tech. But tech never ages gracefully... However practicality, reliability and usability does. So my shortlist is really down to a Highlander or Pilot.
@@damilolaakanni Driving Sport Tv and the TFL Team both had issues with light off-roading with the DCT overheating.
As bad they have been. Nothing new under the skin.
It's only true competition is the Palisade, and this Santa Fe looks better in most every way. The actual spare tire and all the space, and cubbies make it very interesting indeed. I want one...
When is the hybrid coming?
lol I ❤😂😂😂this video I watch the entire video. I have NEVER! You guys are great and so "Gangster " 😂😂
So I gought one today! I've had a 13, then a 16, and a 21. It was time for a change and they changed it too and it went for the 24. We'll see what happens in 27 LOL
The design of the rear is absolutely atrocious. Love the front.
Hybrid is only $500 extra for the SEL, Limited & Calligraphy trims. Not available in the base trim.
The title of this video makes no sense
Opinions
I totally agree it's a Ford Flex
I like this design
Exterior feels very "we have LR Defender at home." Or like, a new version of a Flex.
saw a Santa Fe in white, Limited model. I was gobsmacked. Loved it. And the interior oh nice as well. My wife has a 2023 Tahoe Z71 Lux package. Great vehicle, but its a truck and gets 17-18mpg. I have a truck gets 15mpg. Me, I would go Santa Fe and save the 25K > Tahoe. Not sure about the wife.
yes , its looks amazing on the outside and the inside. Looks way better than the Palisade which already looks outdated now.
Hyunday/Kia have had some hits recently. This one is a mixed bag. If the Japanese are not careful, what happened in consumer electronics is going to repeat itself in cars. Sony/Toshiba/Panasonic replaced by Samsung/LG. Honda has already fallen behind.
That's actually somewhat impressive. I like it. Especially that color.
The rear end is not good at all, The Tucson butt is so much nicer.
The bronze color will be popular. Not shipping enough early on. Also, no electronic mirror on the XRT? Seriously? How about the Bose as an option on the XRT?
I wonder if the Hyundai company officials can be asked for comments on one matter:
Why on the cars assembled in Korea they install amber/orange rear turn signals (I have seen this on various Korean videos), but for Alabama plant cars they chose to use the red turn signals??
I know that orange is not obligatory in 🇺🇸 and 🇨🇦, but I think that orange turn signals are better for safety.
