Yes. Totally appreciate that car manufacturers are going back to the boxy style. Hope it will turn out to add corresponding functionality. The original SantaFe was great.
It's like a cycle:
1960s Curve, 1980s Boxy, 2000s Curve, now a mix of Boxy/Curve
😢 no love for this style for now
Bought ours 2 weeks ago and truly loving it!! Went to visit Honda and Toyota more than once but just could not love the Highlander, RAV4 or CRV the way we loved the Santa Fe Hybrid! Too bad the Pilot is not in hybrid until 2026, it might have been a contender. Took it on our first road trip last week and was it ever a dream to drive and travel in!
How was the road, wind noise?
@@sabrinaevaristo6013 it's honestly so quiet. The more we drive it the happier we are.
@@SWVAAdventures that's good to hear. Our Palisade is not as quiet as I hoped. Thankfully the lease is coming up and we were looking into the Santa Fe Hybrid. Thank you for responding.
@@SWVAAdventures Does it drive as smoothly as the CRV hybrid? I am stuck deciding between this and the 2025 Tucson Hybrid. I don't need the length of this but I like the rear hatch and space. Santa Fe hybrid is 4575 pounds but Tucson Hybrid is 3800

Fantastic review!😸
Loving this color combo and hybrid…maybe you guys should close your eyes and spend the extra to get this exact one. I’d personally get this exact color combo, same trim, same hybrid. 36mpg sounds good, and 232hp is healthy.
They won’t have to. Hyundai is trying to do damage control and are offering them one in place of the lemon that Hyundai bought back from them. Why anyone would buy a Hyundai, no one knows.
At least this transmission is a 6 speed, so you know it won't bust like the 8 speed you guys have in yours😂

Is there a mount you can add to have a spare tire like a donut? I saw where at the bottom there's enough space for a mount and tire but do you all know anything about it?
Does the passenger relaxation seat function while driving or does it only work while parked? That’s a deal breaker for me. Thanks!
Wow! Nice SUV. It has a nice modern look with great tech. I like the “H” tail lights and turn signals. Great sound system. Nicely appointed. I hope all companies will go with the rear-view camera instead of the mirror.
Great review as always!
We’ve been looking forward to your review on this trim level of the Santa Fe as it’s the one we’re most interested in with the Hybrid. It seems to check a lot of boxes, even the boxy shape and controversial design elements. We’ve had a 2017 Kia Sorrento that we enjoyed and currently have the Kia EV6 GT-line which we’re happy with. We’re looking for a road trip vehicle and the gas mileage on this would be great as well as the comfort and many upgraded tech features. We wish we could be excited about the latest Honda Pilot because of their reliability but find the exterior and interior styling lacking as well as no hybrid available. Appreciating your reviews, hope your Santa Fe is once again repaired and that you have no further issues!
Thank you!
Just took ours on a major road trip and could not be happier with the comfortable ride and interior space for everything we needed to travel with. LOVE our Santa Fe Limited Hybrid! Good luck with your decision.
Whats the ground clearance, anywhere near or similar to Ranger rover.

It looks nice and different!
Just got ours yesterday, We got the Hampton Gray SEL FWD Hybrid. It’s just the right package for our family. Thanks for your reviews.😊 @CarConfections
Congrats on your new Santa Fe Hybrid!
How much did you pay drive out for it?
This is the model I’m going with.

With the gloss black around the wheel arches looks good new but time will tell down the track. I have seen all these gloss black wheels looking great new but noticed they all go flat and no shine ?
I would like to see vehicles review and tested with their payload capacity inside so we get the real feel and how slow 4cyl are once loaded
If your SantaFe breaks again, replace it with a Hybrid Calligraphy one
How accurate are the fuel consumption numbers
The SF hybrid is the only way I would get this, but at a lower trim. I don't need all these luxury touches. Just as long as dealerships don't jack up the prices to an unreasonable amount.
HI, can i put 20" on the SEL Model Hybrid like the calligraphy same rim size same tires. 20x8.5 5x 114.30 tire 255/45/R20 ?
I absolutely love a Hyundai/Kia hybrid.
Did it come with a spare tire?
Trade in yours and get a hybrid whatever trim you want. I’m impressed.
Does EV9 have any advantage over this? Doesn’t seem so
I need one
I would definitely rather you guys trying a long review on this one. I do a lot of mountain and highway and I found that a 1.6L turbo is too small and fragile for that kind of SUV
The Hybrid has Eco, is that what we are calling normal drive mode?
I really like the way the XRT looks but might have to go with the hybrid just incase of those transmissions issues with the 8 speed
Love your video 📹 ❤️ 💕 ♥️ 💗 💖
The SantaFe and Palisade are very close in size. I believe that there is supposed to be a new Palisade for the 2026 model year. I'm sure it will be bigger to make the difference bigger between the two.
Just got the hybrid Calligraphy in black and gray nappa interior which looks amazing with all of the blacked out badging and the upgraded grill. It is an incredible vehicle and value. Especially if you can get it thru the Costco partner program - we got ours for almost $2,500 under MSRP.
Sounds great! Does the passenger “relaxation seat” function while driving or does it only work when parked?
@@mark8684 Only when parked of course. It would be impossible to drive in that position!

The rear seat looks comfortable (meaning your thighs are fully on the bottom cushion and not with your knees way up). How tall are you?
This vehicle is delicious.
What mileage do you actually get? This is a jump from the previous generation despite the heavier GVW, so I'd like to know if it's realistic. Other questions are quality of the HUD, whether HDA2 works better than HDA1, and if the gloss black exterior trim mark up easily. Any first hand experience on these items, CC?
I get 23-26 on mine
@@2004cyrus... I'm referring to the hybrid this video is about.
The drag coefficient of this Santa Fe is quite a bit lower than the previous generation, so I assume that's how they maintain good fuel economy for its weight. Hybrid system also has probably been optimized further.
My apologies I just woke up from a nap and didn’t think clearly.
My understanding is the only feature HDA2 has that HDA1 doesn’t is “automatic lane change”.
You mentioned that Bluelink was going to be free for life. Is that only on Calligraphy build? Is that for both Bluelink services?
Bluelink+ is complementary and included on every Santa Fe trim, however; over-the-air software updates require a subscription after 3 years.
All Hyundai's have actually added Bluelink remote services as free for life. That includes things like remote start from the app
My father purchased a '24 Santa Fe Hybrid Calligraphy 3 weeks ago. Already had to have it towed back to dealership due to engine failure. Car had no electrical power, all sorts of error messages, and wouldn't exceed 12mph. Anyone else experience this yet?
Does anyone know the offset on the 20" wheels?
I was just wondering.
How many coupons it takes to pay for all them donuts 😮
does it come heads up display .
Not sure about other trims, but on the calligraphy, yes.
The 2.5L is not available in Europe, we have the choice of the HEV only in Italy - but some countries also get a PHEV.
does the rear sunroof shade open independently of the front sunroof shade?
Yes
@@Sara-cq3ny cool. Thanks. ... That's the way to do it, so good job Hyundai
Is that tachymeter bugged? Showing 1.2x1000 while the car is perfectly stationary.
Sometimes hybrid engines idle higher because they are recharging the battery pack
Now does THIS transmission hold up? 🤔
This is a different transmission. 6 speed vs the DCT the gas transmission has.
It’s not a DCT so much better
That’s a really super price for this hybrid- $50k! Kudos to Hyundai.
Also it would be great to have a third row delete option!
Just fold them down. And then they’re there if you want them.
Just fold it down and never back up unless you need it one day
@@iberionbaratheon7927 I understand that. But the floor height would be lower with the 4-6 or whatever inches thick the baby third row needs and takes up from cargo. Some people will NEVER need a third row.
Why does the SF have the 1.6 engine & the Sonata gets the 2.0? Sure seems like the SF should have the bigger 2.0.
Santa Fe is turbo, while Sonata is not
@@hsbd-hl7gn ahh OK that makes sense, I wasn't even thinking of turbo.
This is the vehicle you SHOULD buy.
No thanks
I read that the Caligraphy hybrid gets the relaxation seat for the passenger (same as the driver side). Is that true?
Also, I believe those buttons on the inside of the passenger seat are unique to this Caligraphy hybrid model; I have not seen them on any other trim, including the Caligraphy 2.5l ICE model.
That is correct about the relaxation seat on both sides. Not sure about the buttons to adjust the seat
Thanks for the prompt reply. I know you guys are busy cause seems like you publish a new video every day!
If you have time, can you check to see if the passenger relaxation seat is functional while driving? I’m worried that it may be disabled due to safety concerns.
Thanks!
The relaxation seat is only for the driver. The passenger seat has an adjustable leg rest along with other seat adjustments, but not the same as the relaxation feature.
🔧 They only offer a hybrid in case your transmission craps out and you have to drive further to the dealership for a replacement.
And transmission????
This is a 6 speed transmission. Completely different from the DCT the gas engine has.
Will there be a PHEV version?
Hyundai will not be offering the PHEV version in the near future at least
@@CarConfections Which is a shame because Hyundai's PHEV technology is among the best of any OEM, and increasingly North America drivers are finding PHEV is the goldilocks propulsion choice among ICE-hybrid-PHEV-BEV spectrum.
Maybe I missed it... but what's the answer?? Is the hybrid the one to get? I'm assuming so for the better mpg and to ditch the dual clutch...
Yes, check it out at the end of the test drive 👍
You're mistaken on Calligraphy designs of wheels. They are both black and different sizes like said, the design isn't the same. Similar but not a copy.
ICE has a slanted like black lines design (think slants that join in center and spread across wheel) while Hybrid has the larger sections of black (like the wrench deign on larger section). Look closer and you'll see the differences.
Very similar would have been a better way for me to say, after further review

This is traditional automatic, which is reliable for Hyundai/kia cars
Did hyundai fixed your transmission isaue?
The Hybrid has a traditional 6 speed automatic so none of the issues that the 8 speed dual clutch has.
@@BrandonG8Man I know... but did they fixed the transmission issue in your car that you guys just brought?
We will be updating everyone on that soon
Trade it in for a hybrid version
Those mandatory (calligraphy) black rims are so cringey. But otherwise very good IMO.
Just a suggestion. When you are telling people in your review which button(s) to push to open the sunroof(s) it would be nice to actually show which button you are pressing rather than just showing the opening of the sunroof. I purchased a 2024 Santa Fe Calligraphy about 2 months and don’t remember being shown where the buttons are to open the sunroof are and of course the salesman is now too busy. In addition, the screen where many of the buttons are like the ac and the fan speed are impossible to see on a very sunny day. Badly designed.
When it gets refreshed going to be high in the buy list and we’ll know about reliability by then. 😊
Problem is hybrid batteries are very expensive and electric battery too.
Why do most companies use 6 speed trans on hybrid models?
It's the wide-ratio version of the old A6MF2 they've been using for 15 years. Sturdy and dependable. The 8 speed is evolved from this unit but has more internal friction due to the extra clutch pack but still only applying two frictions per drive ratio. With the electric motor in place of the torque converter, there is ample torque and the steeper first gear isn't needed - so the 8 speed ratios are not necessary. Although the 8 speed has a slightly taller overdrive, the difference in economy would be negligible versus the added cost and increased friction it would bring to the table.
@@0pelman Kool
They don’t, most other companies like Toyota, Honda, Nissan (overseas) use what’s called an eCVT in varying ways to achieve better response and efficiency. It pairs 2 electric motors together with a gasoline engine, in the case of Honda and Nissan the engine works as generator for the traction battery (only the e-motor drives the wheels). In Toyota’s version it allows the engine to drive the wheels together with the e-motor as well as operate in generator mode (Toyota’s system is considered the best). This transaxle has less moving parts than traditional stepped automatic and provides superior fuel economy, it’s also more EV (instant torque) like in the way that stepped automatic isn’t.
@@tails300 The Toyota system does better in town but not as well on the highway due to limitations of the HSD being unable to run in EV at very high speeds. They tweaked the HSD in recent years to overcome the limitation but the Hyundai setup still has its advantages. The Hyundai system places the motor before the gearset so the motor torque is multiplied through the gearset to provide more acceleration without firing the engine. The Lithium Polymer battery can charge/discharge at a faster rate without damage so this Santa Fe can run in EV in a wider range of conditions than the comparable Toyota. My daily driver is a '23 Elantra hybrid and it offers 70-90mpg in suburban commuting. My sister - who learned to drive by watching the last ten minutes of the movie "Thelma and Louise" - is getting 50-60mpg in her 2021 Sonata hybrid. The Sonata setup is the closest to the Santa Fe layout, while the Elantra uses a simpler motor setup with an automated manual transmission. Nissan has no hybrid setup although they licensed the Toyota HSD about a decade ago. The current Honda system is much closer to a serial hybrid - like the old diesel locomotives - and doesn't have the fuel economy potential of the Hyundai or Toyota systems.
Hyundai/Kia cars sure are flashy and full of gizmos but your experience with your Santa Fe and other quality control issues still reek of 20+ years ago.

I have a 2021 palisade. We drove the new Santa Fe. It just doesn’t live up to the price. With that 4 cylinder engine turbo. It’s not a smooth drive and it’s loud inside. They have some ways to go with this car.
would you say 2021 palisade is better than new santa fe in terms of driving?
@@kenyaswallow5782 the new Santa Fe drives likes a compact SUV instead of a Mid Size SUV. The V6 is so much responsive. I like the way my 2020 Santa Fe drives over the new turbo. They are not going to switch them cars. The fine print will keep them in theirs and Hyundai will just keep doing warranty work.
@@2004cyrus it's a lemon and hyundai should definitely swap their santa fe with a all new one.
@@darkivaz-aaa1145 doesn’t work that way. Ever. It’s just the transmission. I’ve been at my family’s dealerships my whole adult car. The contracts don’t include language about “swapping” out cars. That’s just uneducated folderol you are speaking. Manufacturers and dealers can’t operate that way. It’s too complicated, lawyers are involved. Ours win. Vehicles have warranties for a reason, it’s not an old car from some old country boy corner lot.
@@2004cyrus Well that's your family's dealership, but most dealerships i know does it for a reason especially if it's a lemon.
@@darkivaz-aaa1145 no… they don’t. They provide loaners and do warranty work. The brothers car is not a lemon, it simply has a transmission that Hyundai has not perfected. The rest of the car is fine. You don’t just swap people out of contracts and cars Willy Nilly. The law and the government and legal have certain rules. Used cars are slightly different and dealers want to keep a good reputation intact and will rarely trade a customer out with lots of paperwork. Unless you work for a dealer or own one or you are a contract attorney you really can’t speak to this. You sound 19 talking out of your ass. Get a clue and some experience and education. If you start trading people out of cars here and there then everyone wants to do it when they have an issue. This isn’t a television set we are talking about.
