Thanks for watching and supporting us during this ownership experience! We hope you found this HONEST coverage helpful because a lot of outlets would have never covered something like this. It has been a stressful situation and we appreciate your understanding that we are ready to turn the page from this. We will keep you all in the loop if Hyundai provides us with more specifics.
No doubt a tricky situation to navigate, but you maintained your integrity by sharing your actual experiences while providing the opportunity for the company to address the issue and sharing their commitment to making it right. Well done!
I’m glad they did that, I would have returned it the first time when the transmission went. I personally don’t think they would have had offered you that buy back if you didn’t do the RUclips. The lemon Law isn’t really helpful in Massachusetts. But I’m glad you came back safe with the family. Can’t wait to see the new car… ps after reading the comments, I would have to agree that telling your followers to avoid the car. That would be honest.
The special treatment isn’t that Hyundai is buying the vehicle back. The special treatment is that they are making this process so much more easy for you because your a big channel.
Even buying the vehicle back is special treatment. If they has been an average Joe customer, they would have to fight Hyundai tooth and nail just to make them buy it back and most likely would have to get lawyers involved
Let’s consider that the buy back is the most expeditious way for Hyundai to stop the chain of “Our Santa Fe is in the shop again” videos from CC. Definitely an element of damage/spin control from Hyundai at work here.
@manulbhardwaj The paint on it is peeling like an old false leather couch. The doors don't lock if the keys are in the car or if you're outside standing next to the car pumping gas. If I'm riding in the car in a bad neighborhood and I stopped at a light, I can't lock the doors. The alarm system doesn't work. Someone slid underneath and stole my Cadillac converter off of it, and no alarms went off.Oh, and let's not forget about the engine catching fire. They did replace the engine. Cadillac converter repair came out of my own pocket, about $2,000 to repair. And it has faulty electrical problems throughout the truck. And sensory issues.
@@a.r.walker6255your missing the point of the argument. Car confections didn’t have to go the lemon law route, and that is why everyone here believes they are getting special treatment.
They bought it back to avoid a PR nightmare . Wise decision that was definitely due to your channel’s influence. If there was a third problem with that vehicle. Oooooh boy it wouldn’t have been good for Hyundai.
Well I used to feel the same way as I am on my 4th Hyundai also. The problems with this one started at 23k miles, and today after having the vehicle in 4 times it still has issues that Hyundai won't or can't fix. MY issue is there is a 100k warranty that is in effect worthless, if they can't or won't fix my vehicle, and because I'm not a RUclips channel celeb, they won't even talk to be about my vehicles problems, let alone a buyback. So Marry, and others, I'm moving on from Hyundai like so many others. I will not buy another Hyundai or Kia product. It's not the vehicle I dislike, I love my vehicles, it's the dealership service network, and Hyundai corporate that choose to wash their hands of the many mechanical problems and getting them fixed. @@maryszilagyi-ovaitt3137
As a Hyundai owner, I can say their reliability and customer service is excellent. I have owned 9 Hyundai vehicles since 2010. Four Sonatas, Three SantaFe's and two Tucsons. I still own a 2018 Santa Fe and a 2021 Sonata. My son has a Santa Fe and my girlfriend has a 2018 Tuscon. The oldest Santa Fe,a 2003, drove 335,000 miles and the transmission died, and I had a brake sensor replaced in two of the Sonata's. Thats pretty good quality in my opinion.
Hi there. I purchased a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT in Toronto Ontario back in April. I drove it 1180 km and the transmission disintegrated. The second and third gear exploded into bits. I reported it to the dealership and they originally told me that they would replace the transmission under warranty. I refused. I insisted that they replace the vehicle with a new one. After days of haggling, they agreed. Further to some viewers saying that you got special treatment, I am not an auto blogger, influencer or have any leverage with the auto industry. In addition, Canada has NO lemon laws with the exception of Quebec which just introduced one so if Hyundai wanted to, they could force me to take the car back with a repaired transmission. I am grateful to you guys for posting these videos because I truly believe this influenced Hyundai's decision. The relative speed with which they agreed to replace my vehicle says they KNOW something is wrong at their Alabama facility, where all the affected cars were manufactured, and are trying to get to the bottom of it. Originally Hyundai said they would replace my damaged Santa Fe with a Korean built model but I just discovered the model I'm getting came off the same line in Alabama. Not thrilled about it to be honest. I am a new customer to Hyundai and have NEVER had a problem like this with a new vehicle. EVER. And I've owned 13 new cars and 3 used cars over 30 years from American, Japanese and German makes.
Sorry to hear that you also had this bad experience. Glad Hyundai is making it right for you! We are hoping that this coverage and selling the car back to Hyundai will allow them to get this issue ironed out completely!
I had this happen in a 2011 or 2012 Mini Countryman. Rear main seal leaking and they replaced the whole engine. I never had another problem and sold it a year or two later.
@@DomesticDad20 I had to go through the dealer. I was LUCKY. Neither the dealer nor Hyundai was obligated to do anything but replace the transmission. The dealer contacted Hyundai Canada and apparently someone authorized the buy-back of my defective XRT and agreed to provide me with a 2024 Santa Fe Hybrid.
Labor day 2024 I bought a Kia Carnival EX Next few days wife keeps discovering water on passenger floor. Sept 8th on way to church on raining day we could see water leaking into the car, water noise behind dashboard. Sept 9th returned to Kia, they offered to fix it, I told that I won't take a brand new car that spent time at a garage already with leaks. They did their thing for 30min, I was contemplating the Toyota dealership across the street. They gave me new car, we were all happy, shook hands and went our separate ways.
Man. Not a good sign. Yes, very likely most owners will not have the same experience. But it's just not very reassuring when Kia / Hyundai really could use some....reassuring.
Cars have defects and that won’t change. The part that’s concerning is when the repair also is defective. That’s the one that really shakes your confidence in the vehicle and manufacturer
Seems only Hyundai models (not specifically the Santa Fe) in North America have issues 🤔. O do have fam members living in other parts of the world who have automatic, gasoline Hyundai/Kia vehicles without issues..... (yes they do have the manual models too as well as Diesel variants🙂)
Obviously RUclips influencers will get a different level of service than the normal car buyer. Car manufacturers need to step up their game when obvious car issues arise to make customers feel that their concerns are addressed. I was seriously considering buying a sante fe but reliability has to be there. It’s obviously it’s not. Thanks guys for a honest and thorough review of your experience in this instance keep up the good work.
The same thing happened with my brother. Hyundai bought back his Santa Fe because of transmission issues. He replaced it with a new Mazda CX-5 that he says is so much better.
I'm driving a 2016 CX-5 with almost 216,000 miles on it. Only thing that ever went bad was one single ignition coil. It's far and away the best vehicle I've ever owned.
Guys, I saw the writing on the wall when you had the first issue. Happy you're able to not have to deal with the pressure anymore. Had a similar situation when you all went on the Florida trip. Had a rented 2017 Sante Fe seven years ago on a road trip to Ohio and to be succinct, it was an abject nightmare! Can't wait until you reveal the next vehicle. Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
@@JackieGleason-kv4xihave you seen the Toyota 3.5TT Tundra failures? It's a $35k cab off engine replacement. Now, they will eventually get it right, but oh boy if you're out of warranty.
I had the engine go on my Elantra 5 years ago. They gave me a replacement vehicle while they replaced the engine (at 98,000 miles) and handled everything really well. I have since owned a Santa Fe hybrid since 2022 with zero issues.
Must be nice that they took care of you like that. I had major engine and electrical issues with my 2021 Elantra and they didn't offer anything despite 11 service visits totaling 2.5 months out of service. Had to sell it at a loss.
Lemon law. you should had call the BBB and get your trial. I had that issue with a 1993 Toyota camry the AC unit keep going down and they ended up taking it back and a deal on a new Avalon.
Thank you for sharing your story. Just got a new Santa Fe and experiencing the same issue. Mile 30 and the violent gear shifting began. Just starting the dealer process. Fun times.
@@NovejSpeed3 I did. They still haven’t received any guidance from Hyundai on the wider issue. So I imagine every dealership is doing their own patches until there’s a solution
@michaelvalentino5802 has to be frustrating....have a top trim 2020 and wanted to upgrade to this....but woth all the year one problems, looks like a huge gamble. My 2020 has 40k miles no issues
I had a 2022 Sonata Limited that did this exact thing . Drove the vehicle for 1 month and service had it the rest of the 6 months of ownership while I battled it out with Hyundai . It was deemed unrepairable and purchased by Hyundai with 1,500 miles on it . I called them and argued more times than I could count and they tried very hard to get out of taking it back. Never again would I buy a Hyundai.
I had to lemon law a 2014 Durango RT. I never talked to the dealer or really dealt with them, went to my lawyer and he handled everything and Dodge had to pay his fee. If you have a lemon law don't mess with the dealer get a lawyer and have them handle it, the manufacturer will have to pay the lawyer fees and you will really not have to deal with anything till you have to turn the car in where the manufacturer will want you to turn it in.
Appreciate the transparency. I really hope Hyundai improves the transmission. I had a couple of interactions with Hyundai dealers. The dealer you're working with is probably the better ones. There are many sub par Hyundai dealer experiences out there.
All I can say is thank you for buying this Santa Fe so that others don’t have to. This is why I continue to watch car reviews. It helps me make my decision to buy my next vehicle an informed one. Hyundai is off my list permanently.
Have a 2019 Santa Fe Limited, 8 speed auto 2.4 engine. No problems. 185,000 miles. Regular oil changes; changed transmission fluid once; 29-30 highway mileage; 20 to 22 in town.
This is really going to hurt Hyundai sales. since these guys have a ton of influence throughout the world. But Hyundai should have never used DCT after Kia was having the same issue with the Sorento.
@@jonathanalicea8940 It is a fact that Hyundai/Kia have had significant issues/problems with their engines and transmissions. This has been going on for years. They got a class action lawsuit filed against them that ended up costing them over $3B to replace all of the defective engines and transmissions. Look, it is a fact that Hyundai/Kia are not well built automobiles. That is why they tend to be less expensive up front and then depreciate into the deepest end of the gutter quickly thereafter. I know, they have a 100,000 mile drive train warranty which they proudly point to when selling their cars. However, they are famous and well known for rejecting warranty claims by their customers. What good does a 100,000 mile warranty do for the customer when they have to file a class action lawsuit to enforce the warranty. Hyundai/Kia do a good job in the overall concept and creative design but do a horrible job in building quality and long term life into their vehicles. Why do people continue to buy these brands when there are so many problems with them? They would be better served by buy a better quality automobile that does not have serious mechanical issues and depreciate like the Hyundai/Kia automobiles do.
Your channel is a significant influence to consumers. Nice job on building your brand and automotive reporting. That probably helped their decision to buy it back.
With all the bad experiences from LG fridge, Samsung washer to Hyundai/kia, I decided to say goodbye to all Korean products. But the Kimchi still has reliable taste.
Had a Samsung fridge for 10 years without a single issue. It was still working fine when I sold my house. Love Samsung phones and flat screen TVs including LG. Never owned a Korean car but rented many. They are my favorite rental cars because of all the standard features they come with compared to other manufacturers and are affordable to rent. Like all brands, you have to do thorough research before you buy. LG fridges had known issues with their linear compressors leading to class action law suit. But their washer/dyers are in the top three most reliable washer/dryer. LG monitors are fantastic in picture quality and features and are relatively affordable. I’d would never buy an American or European car again. Too many problems with every single one I bought. My research agrees with my experience.
@@Tritonal92maybe but they have been trying to make updates for it for years. But Hyundai is a long way from catching up to Porsche with their DCT durability.
@@brokeboy87they have the Elantra N DCT which is a beefed up version but there’s no way they’re putting that in these cars without bumping the price up by a grand or two
@@Courtesyflush52 they’re charging enough. They can make a quality transmission and if they can’t, then they should just go back to a regular planetary gear set eight speed automatic.
Each state has its specific laws for buybacks but basically it spends so long in the shop or there’s so many returns for the same issue then they are required by law to buy it back.
For me the reason they bought your car back is that the 2 of you give fair and honest reviews. They also knew you would give us updates and time lines as to how the warranty work was going! It was in their best interest to do the buy back. Hopefully your viewers that have the same issue will keep you posted as to how they are being treated. @@LeftEagle51012I had Toyota refuse to replace my Highlander engine under warranty so I went to Hyundai. The new engine on my Sonata recall went up in flames two days later. I just barely made it out. They offered me $2,500 after six weeks of bs. Avoid avoid avoid this company. Toyota was no better.
Thank you for bringing this up to light. I just got the XRT. When I first start the car and get in drive, I feel jutters in the low gears early on. After it gets warm there is no issue in low gears. High gears are not a problem. I was hoping it was a fluke but im coming to the realization that something is wrong. Going to the dealership next week. Thank you.
I don’t think anything is wrong. As you said, when it gets warm, it’s fine. I had that with my 23 Calligraphy before it got totaled. But if you want to be safe, sure, take it.
I was hoping that them fixing the transmission the first time would have fixed the problem because I was really looking toward getting one of those but now I'm definitely not, but that's that's what it is. You always got to wait on the first year of vehicles to come out
So many idiots in these comments. It’s called a lemon. Happens to all vehicle manufacturers. There are tens of thousands of these transmissions on the road with no issues. People are so lame.
Well my last Honda and Nissan were both back in the shop in the first 500 miles for problems. My work car, a new Chevy suburban, needed a new ECU after 3000 miles. So yea I’m just sharing the experience from my first few miles, but so far, it’s been more solid than a Honda, Nissan, and Chevy.
Thanks for sharing your experience. As I stated previously, I have a 2021 Kia Sorento with the exact same transmission and it failed at 32,000 miles. It was fixed in a timely manner. I have sinced put 18,000 miles on it and I am at the mid point of a 6500 mile trip west and I have had not problems since the replacement.
Very happy you guys were treated well by Hyundai, but I have to think this quick resolve (the buy back) would definitely not have been afforded to any other customers. The experience one of my grandkids had with the local Hyundai dealership was so bad with the warranty coverage (on a 2021 Tuscan) he ended up selling it at a substantial loss and bought a new 2023 Subaru. After 32,000 miles he's totally happy with this move.
John Z I am From NJ and purchased a 2025 Santa Fe. I have owned it for two 2 weeks and it has been in the shop 2 times for a total of 7 days of my ownership. The problem is that unexpectedly the car will not start. The engine does not turn over like the battery is not charged. Once it is jumped the car drives great then the next day unexpectedly it won’t start again until it is jumped. I have owned a total of 4 Santa Fe since 2006. Never a problem. This one is a BIG PROBLEM!
My parents bought a 2023 Sportage that had the entire EGR system replaced 4 times in a 10,000 mile period. After every time, the EGR would end up failing again. Kia took the car and opened and investigation with the head engineers out of the Georgia manufacturing plant and the car was taken apart and reviewed for 2 months. They discovered the primary vehicle wiring harness was damaged somehow and the bad sectors just happened to be intertwined with the EGR system. Kia replaced the entire wiring harness and no further issues ever came up. I suspect your vehicle is involved in a similar situation. Issues persisting after a full transmission replacement most likely indicates the transmission is not the problem.
Toyota has their problems. They have had to replace thousands of engines in various models over the last 15 years for issues causing excessive oil consumption. The new Tundra and Lexus GX are having engines lock up. All brands are now run by accountants who put profit over reliability. Get the Santa Fe.
@@bradleyscarreviews Not Necessarily, No issues I’ve heard of except for a few issues with the new infotainment. Everything else has been rated superior in reliability and it even ranked first as the most reliable Mid-Size SUV same with the RX.. the pilot is having similar issues too with minor things
I bought a brand new 2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport and the engine stalled a month later. The Hyundai Dealership was not helpful. After many engine issues I filed a complaint with Hyundai before I finally got a new engine. The car runs fine now but the experience put a sour taste in my mouth. I kept up the services and it felt like the dealership tried everything in their power not to honor the warranty. I understand all vehicles have issues and I had many other Hyundai's and GM vehicles. I will never buy another Hyundai product.
I had a car previously that was giving me issues. I recorded all the issues and the mechanic could not replicate the issue. After several times taking it in and having a "expert come in from California to diagnose the car, it still wasnt fixed so i hired a lemon law atty and within weeks they fixed the safety issue, gave me money and an extra 100k mile warranty on top of the warranty i already had. I havent had the issue since and i ended up selling it and buying another vehicle
I bought a 2021 Santa Fe Hybrid Limited 12/23 with ~ 20k miles. The transmission periodically would have a slight shudder or slip. It developed a whine in the transmission on 6/24, 30k miles. Transmission to be replaced. No ETA on that transmission to date; backorder. Same transmission as your '24 Santa Fe. No real progress here! Reliable? I think not! I have a case at Hyundai now. I expect to hear from them by Tuesday. Wish me luck!
Guys, I'm sorry that it didn't work out , but the service you provided to your followers was very enlightening, and I really appreciate it and your honesty in exploring these issues. I also appreciate that you made this specific review very relatable to a family scenario, and not just to someone who enjoys learning about new cars and new technology. Sadly mine didn’t just shake a bit , it totally locked up , and there’s a HUGE hole in my transmission.. had I been on the interstate at a higher speed , this suv would’ve been a death trap for me and grand babies. I’m praying they offer me a buy back because I will NEVER feel safe in this Santa Fe again !
Ngl you might be cooked the only reason they got a buyback is because they have a big RUclips channel. Probably just gonna have to try getting a lemon law lawyer
Can you share the VIN so this vehicle doesn't just show up on another lot somewhere without being serviced? This could potentially help an unlucky soul who is duped into buying this same vehicle.
Personally, I feel like you all did get the Hyundai experience. Having nothing but problems, I knew something was wrong when I had multiple friends who purchased Kia and Hyundai vehicles and has engines blow up. One particularly I was actually in the vehicle. Hyundai did eventually replace her engine, but that cemented to me that Hyundai will never be in my garage! When her engine failed, I got on Facebook and joined a few Hyundai groups that talk about engine failures they all have had. Sometimes they will give you a hard time if you don’t have perfect documentation of your oil changes. make sure you keep detailed records if you own a Hyundai vehicle
Very happy they took care of you guys but not everyone in your position is getting the same treatment from manufacturers. But most customers don't keep there cool as you did, maybe try the new Lexus kind of a new box design also
Thanks for the review. To be honest most cars, meaning all brands, have issues. Especially new models so I am not knocking g Hyundai. I had my 2021 Toyota Camry XSE purchased back due to it being a lemon. But I have no knock on Toyota. Glad you were very transparent with your review
Oh please. Toyota has their problems. They have had to replace thousands of engines in various models over the last 15 years for issues causing excessive oil consumption. The new Tundra and Lexus GX are having engines lock up. All brands are now run by accountants who put profit over reliability. I am sure Hyundai will has gotten it sorted out for all future owners.
@bradleyscarreviews sounds like a massive case of copium. Please don’t compare Toyota and Hyundai completely different levels of reliability. How’s the Santa Fe doing in shop?
Hope you stay in contact with them to see if they will share their findings of what the root cause was in that particular Santa Fe… but I’m thinking they’ll keep their findings secret. Also, that Hyundai dealership needs a facelift ASAP. Looks ancient. Wonder if you’ll buy the Kia Sorento V6 with torque converter transmission as a replacement? Great stuff sharing your experience with the 2024 Santa Fe. Very helpful to many potential buyers.
Thank you. Classic Hyundai in Hampton Virginia did a buy back for our 2022 Santa Fe . We took it in three times for check transmission. They replaced the vehicle but we had to pay state taxes all over again plus we lost our 0 interest rate on the new car.
Thank you very much for these videos CarConfections. I love the looks and interior space of the Santa Fe but my most important ‘luxury’ aspect of a car is its reliability. If it doesn’t take me from point A to point B without drama, then it’s not worth my money. I was gonna buy one for my wife, to have a comfortable hauler for the kids, but we have now moved our thoughts to the Highlander. There is no lemon law in our part of the world so I won’t take my chances, even though we’re only offered the hybrid version here.
So they found a green inspectors marker in my 2024 sante fe. So far it looks like that marker did in the radiator, radiator fan and some other things. They gave us a loaner and told us that they will fix the broken stuff. Car has 1709 miles and we haven’t made the first payment yet.
I know it's annecdotal, but I've never had a friend, family member or coworker who didn't bemoan their hyundai. Some models seem to be much worse than others, but the problems endure through the different generations. Nice cars, great tech, attractive price, journalists love them for the few hours or days they drive them, but it's always a leap of faith.
Explain why Consumer Reports rates the Palisade so high. Predicted reliability is good as well. I think maybe certain models might be more prone to issues. My point is don't group every vehicle they make into the same category.
@@WeatherHappensI can explain easy, money and favors and trips. It’s how the world works, don’t be naive. lol you are the reason for corporate greed. You believe what you see. I work in the industry for my family.
I have owned three different Hyundai vehicles. I had an engine problem with one of them at 98,000 miles and Hyundai was fantastic in handling the situation currently have the Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid 2022 with zero issues.
I share your experience in that I have had the Santa Fe AWD Hybrid since May 2024 and started out with a dead. I only have 1000 miles on it. I received a power train failure message while driving on the freeway and it began to lose power. I made it home and had to have it towed to the dealership and the car would not shift into any gear. It has been over 30 days that the dealership has had my vehicle and was told they were placing the transmission. The service manager said the battery would not hold a charge and they needed to talk to an engineer at Hyundai. Like you I want to return the car back to dealership as the experience has not been good. I have filed a complaint and have a case manager who has been slow responding. I do love the look and feel of the car but think the technology is over the top with the car being able practically drive itself! Loved to learn what you decide to buy next. I have a BMW 328 ix that has been a great car and bought it used (2011). I may go back to a BMW. Also had an Audi A4 which was a nice car. What sold me on Hyundai was the price and warranty. Now I get why they provide such a long term warranty!
I got my 2024 Santa Fe Calligraphy on March 27th and to date am loving it. I have just about 3000 km (I live in Canada) I have not had any problems so far. As far as the comments about the dual clutch, my last 2 Hyundai's have had this and I had zero issues. Hopefully the problems that you had were a one vehicle problem. Sorry to hear of your experience.
You know, since you have been dealing with problems and they offered you a hybrid, they should give you a higher trim level like a limited or calligraphy. You should also get a discount with that since you have dealt with this especially since you have dealt with two major issues.
My wife and I purchased a new 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe 3 1/2 years ago, it now has 219,814 miles on it. It has never been in the shop for anything. I have always changed the oil myself and did one brake job on it myself. We're going this week to purchase a 2024 model, I'm hoping it holds up as good as the one we have now.
I just bought the 2024 Santa Fe SEL hybrid. One thousand miles in and so far so good and averaging 36 mpg in almost exclusively eco mode. Wish me luck!🤞
Hyundai just realized the power of @Car Confections!!! Awesome work you guys, keep up the good work! For all other Hyundai owners, if you face any such issues & if the dealership does not accept it, then just tell them that you are going to put a review of the vehicle on @Car Confections :D
Deja vu. I have an early production 2010 Santa Fe. The first six months of the then-new six speed automatic had problems, mine had to have the transmission replaced at about 12,000 miles. Still got it, transmission has been fine since then
I had a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4xe that became undrivable for several reasons after less than 1000 miles. The biggest reason was that it would shut off on me because it thought the vehicle was swerving when it wasn't. It took 4 long months for me to receive a check from jeep after I applied for the buyback. This was after they had the vehicle for 2 months. The dealership did not have a loner. Therefore I went 6 months without a vehicle. The whole process was very painful. The treatment was completely different from the one that Car Confection received.
I bought the exact same car and color! This has been the best car experience I have ever owned. I have over 3500 miles and everything is still perfect! The tech alone is like you purchased a 250k Mercedes. It is way ahead of most other cars in that regards. I am sorry yours had trouble but nothing but positive vibes here!
Thanks! You have changed my mind as I was interested in purchasing this vehicle. Now it will be a Toyota 4Runner. Hyundai should prove out new vehicles before releasing to the marketplace. This makes me concerned about their products in general (as well as Kia).
I had this issue with a vehicle before. GM offered me the same option and my truck had only 747 miles on it when the trans went out. After the 2nd time bringing it back GM offered to 1. Buy back the truck 2. Pick out another truck 3. They had a engineer from GM come to dealership after it was repaired to deem it safe to drive, then GM paid me pretty good to keep the vehicle. That's why I still buy Silverados no issues on my last to trucks. Like you said Lemon Law protects the consumer between 2yrs/24k miles. My cousin purchased a 2024 Santa Fe no issues. Black on Black and that thang is nice, especially for the price.
I made a terrible mistake and bought a Kia minivan about 6 years ago. That horrible experience taught me that I never want a Kia or Hyindai in my life.
I Had a 2023 Kia Telluride. In just months, several recalls, The light grey part of the front bumper with a lots chips. The speaker at the top of the dashboard was pulling out. To many flaws for a so expensive vehicle. Change it for a basic 2023 VW Tiguan. And no issues with that unit.
I love your channel, one of my favorites! However, I was SMH when you posted about purchasing that Hyundai! I almost got a Kia sportage but I could not find myself to actually purchase Kia or Hyundai!
Thank you so much for your videos I been strongly considering this vehicle because my 2016 Chevy Equinox engine died due to oil leak issues. I travel the highway a lot for work. What a shame, nice-looking car, and great opportunity for Hyundai to redeem themselves.
Would love to see a long term on the new Traverse RS - we were considering the new Santa Fe but pumped the brakes on that given the issues you guys were having - appreciate the update!
We wanted to look at the traverse, both the Zeb and the RS. However, while inventory showed several in our area on the lots, Chevy refused to show them. so they lost out, and we went with a… Hyundai Santa Fe, SEL hybrid. Different engine, different transmission and so far we’re pretty happy. The test will be this weekend as we’re going to do a couple of road trips.
Uk Tucson owner. I had issues when bought new in 2022 the mild hybrid model. Kept getting engine warning light coming on after first month of owning the car. This continued for 5 months with the dealer making numerous attempts to fix it. The dealer in Derby UK was very good offered to swap for a new car and we upgraded to a higher spec. I think dealers are in a difficult position after all they didn't manufacture the vehicle but they get all the crap that goes with dealing with the public. Not had any issues with the replacement and its now close to having covered 20,000 miles.
It was simply a lemon for those trying to bash the vehicle. My aunt has a 2024 XRT with 12,000 miles, no issues. Another friend of mine has a 2024 Limited with 7500, no issues.

After 3 months of they finally sent me an offer letter telling me I owe them $800 from my buy back due to mileage.. I had to retain a lemon law lawyer and go get that route. So yes, they are getting special treatment, but that is not their fault. It’s Hyundai and they don’t want the PR nightmare..
So yeah…this is no shock to me, ‘Hyundai’ tends to make ‘lemons’. On another note…is there anyway you guys would consider acquiring a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox? The updated version is coming in this fall and I would love to see a ‘first-hand’ experience, since I have that model in mind as I own a 2020 LS FWD Chevrolet Equinox with 14,140 problem-free miles on it, purchased new…and I can just see myself driving the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox model next spring. 🤓🧐

A car with 2 failed NEW transmissions in 2 months is a piece of merda....there is nothing honest about your coverage......you should say DO NOT BUY!

They bought it back to avoid a PR nightmare . Wise decision that was definitely due to your channel’s influence. If there was a third problem with that vehicle. Oooooh boy it wouldn’t have been good for Hyundai.
My 😅 advice.. Don't buy anything Hyundai or A Kia. I've said it before.. They are totally junk!😢
Not true - I'm on my 4th Hyundai the first 3 have gone high above 100k miles with NO issues!

I LOVE MY 2012 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. IT'S BEEN GOOD TO ME.
I wonder if having over 500,000 subscribers had any influence in Hyundai's decision
What do you think? LOL.

Did you go through the dealer or Hyundai?
@@DomesticDad20 I had to go through the dealer. I was LUCKY. Neither the dealer nor Hyundai was obligated to do anything but replace the transmission. I had to lemon law a 2014 Durango RT. I never talked to the dealer or really dealt with them, went to my lawyer and he handled everything and Dodge had to pay his fee. @@jonathanalicea8940The hybrid comes with a 6 speed automatic transmission. Not a DCT.
My guess is a Mazda, the CX50 or 70.
Wonder if you’ll buy the Kia Sorento V6 with torque converter transmission as a replacement?
Great stuff sharing your experience with the 2024 Santa Fe. Very helpful to many potential buyers.
We are planning on keeping you all updated if we can find out more!
Software issue?
Glad we could help. Thanks for watching!
My daughter has owned her 2015 Sonata for 6yrs, it’s been great.
Most common complaints I’ve heard about Hyundai/Kia are their 2.4l 4 cylinder engines and their DCTs. Not sure about the V6 engines, most seem okay.
Everybody said what I thought, half million subs must be why this is so easy… seriously a regular Joe wouldn’t be so lucky
You know, since you have been dealing with problems and they offered you a hybrid, they should give you a higher trim level like a limited or calligraphy. You should also get a discount with that since you have dealt with this especially since you have dealt with two major issues.
They never even would call me back at 3500 miles. I lost $6000 on that trash. You are lucky. I Will NEVER forgive Hyundai. Horrible company.
Sorry you guys are going through this. I hope that the next santa fe is better than the last and that you're able to make more great memories.
That’s nice of toy to say Alonzal
kia and hyundai are garbage
My wife and I purchased a new 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe 3 1/2 years ago, it now has 219,814 miles on it. It has never been in the shop for anything. I have always changed the oil myself and did one brake job on it myself. We're going this week to purchase a 2024 model, I'm hoping it holds up as good as the one we have now.
After Covid the quality of Hyundai cars has decline. FYI
Absolutely, well said…I’m sure that name alone will make Hyundai shake in their boots.
@@racineurr.8924 Yeah…sadly I’m aware that’s how it works with dealerships, but sometimes I like to hope.😔
Thank you!
I'm sorry about your Hyundai Santa Fe. You still had some good memories with it.
Deja vu. I have an early production 2010 Santa Fe. The first six months of the then-new six speed automatic had problems, mine had to have the transmission replaced at about 12,000 miles. Still got it, transmission has been fine since then
Thank God I found this channel and topic. We were in market for Calligraphy Santa Fe but no more! Thank you for honest review. .
Would LOVE to see a long term review of a Hyundai Palisade!! They are beautiful!!
That's sad, not gonna lie
I bought the exact same car and color! This has been the best car experience I have ever owned. I have over 3500 miles and everything is still perfect! The tech alone is like you purchased a 250k Mercedes. It is way ahead of most other cars in that regards. I am sorry yours had trouble but nothing but positive vibes here!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wow I wish I was this privileged to get them to buy it back so easily.
I just bought a new Hyundai Santa Fe calligraphy. I watched your channel and used your review to buy my car. Fingers crossed everything runs well.
Won't be running well soon
Update, at mile 2325 and having transmission problems on first road trip
@@nicinokc told ya won't be running well soon😑😑
It's only been 4 weeks
@@nicinokcI was thinking about buying this car =( what happened next?
Took to dealer. And they reset Compton transmission and it’s been running fine for a week and a half.
Thanks! You have changed my mind as I was interested in purchasing this vehicle. Now it will be a Toyota 4Runner. Hyundai should prove out new vehicles before releasing to the marketplace. This makes me concerned about their products in general (as well as Kia).
Did they know you reviewed cars?
Probably.
Yes, the channel is referred to in the document.
@@aussie8114Exactly. As was made very clear if Tim had paid attention 🤦♀️
Since they no longer own the vehicle, how will they ever find out what the issue is?
@@AT-nq6cu You’re beginning to get a glimmer as to why the dealership bought the vehicle back so willingly. Now keep going.
Lol, 2013 Elantra in my case 😛
I Had a 2023 Kia Telluride. In just months, several recalls, The light grey part of the front bumper with a lots chips. The speaker at the top of the dashboard was pulling out. To many flaws for a so expensive vehicle.
Change it for a basic 2023 VW Tiguan. And no issues with that unit.
Hyundai and kia still have a long way to go when it comes to reliability
I wish you guys all the best on your next car purchase thank you for always being honest in your reviews
Thank you, friend!
I haven’t had any issues with mine either. I’m on month 3.
Ok sales rep Brad.
@@FCM415 I’m not a sales rep bud. I’m a technician for Hyundai.
@@bradleyscarreviews Hyundai/KIA powertrains are shite. You know this first hand. There’s a reason why they market “the best warranty”. It’s due to decades of crappy powertrains. How many crapped out - within warranty engines did your dealership deny repair today?
@@FCM415none. I’ve replaced 12 today. Our dealer likes to make our customers happy.
That is true, the channel helps a lot, for a regular customer it would not have been that easy, talking from experience not with Hyundai but with VW
I’m currently in a buyback with Hyundai for my ioniq 6.. the dealer has my ioniq 6 for over 2 months and currently still has it. I had to push for a buy back. After 3 months of they finally sent me an offer letter telling me I owe them $800 from my buy back due to mileage.. I had to retain a lemon law lawyer and go get that route. So yes, they are getting special treatment, but that is not their fault. It’s Hyundai and they don’t want the PR nightmare..
please buy a second hyundai santa fe! give them another chance 😂
We will consider it!
