Today we are going to put the USS Prometheus against the Tactical version of the Durderstadt which was first seen in Picard Season 3.
Played from both sides in Star Trek Bridge Commander Remastered.

The whole selling point fir the Prometheus was it's multi-vector assault mode, without that it's only operating at 60% more or less.
I didn't like the USS Intrepid in Picard. But, now that I've seen more of it in other media, it has sort of grown on me. I still love the USS Prometheus, though.
4:45 quantum torpedos were used in picard during the battle of esd, it's hard to see, but some ships fire a white/blue projectile which could be the quantums
There were white-looking torpedos in PIC, so I assume those were the quantums.
There were at least two vessels firing them, and one looked to be a Sovereign.
That Prometheus model looks phenomenal! Really both that and the Duderstadt, but the Prometheus is looking particularly good.
Yes, whatever that Dud ship is has either highly regenerative shields or it dumped its auxiliary power into the shields. Unfortunately, they both seem to have equal firepower.
I binged watched Picard, so I don't remember this ship.😀

@RetroBadgerGaming Oh crap! I should have remembered that. I really did binge watch that series too fast. 🤕 She wasn't around much, but she was a great character. I've also seen Michelle Forbes in so many other shows. (I never miss the tall ones 😄.) I loved it when she and Riker hooked up when that strange alien erased their memories. 😆
Yeah I agree that the proper tactics the Prometheus could win. I'm surprised you didn't show us the Prometheus in multi-vector assault mode. I half expected to see that when you mentioned it.
I agree that it's possible when Quantum torpedoes were introduced they were harder to manufacture and only reserved for certain ships. Mainly hero ships like the Enterprise-E, Defiant and Lakota. I too think the Prometheus had quantum torpedoes. I agree that the hull armor really helps that ship out a lot.

I can just imagine the secondary hull of the Durderstadt dedicated to and full of nothing but torpedoes. :D
Nice fight! I'd be interested in a follow-up video featuring the Prometheus in MVAM. I think it could be done if you use maneuverability to your advantage.
Nice to know that even though it's an older ship by Picard, it can still slug it out with the best of them.
It’s Duderstadt named for Doug Drexlers’ wife Dorothy Duder, who sadly passed away in 2022

I think Promotheus could have won in multivector mode. You were doing well for a while but the Dude's shields regenerate quickly and their torpedoes reload faster. Multi-vector splits the Dude's attention and the incoming fire from multiple vectors prevent its shields from regenerating. Also, they were constantly flipping sides to bring torpedoes to bear, conversely I noticed a few times your torpedoes were ready to go but you were out of position. The difference of 10 or more torpedoes fired can often be the difference between winning and losing.

😲Yes.. the Tactical Duderstadt is amazing Admiral.. and forgot that the Intrepid in Picard was the same style ship.. but here in the game torpedoes are fast , in the show... even going to warp took a bit too long lol.. and took out the Prometheus. crikey.. and what was that half cloak thing.. what did the EMH M2 do..lol. Yes I read that on the Star Trek site, that future meaning Picard era, they programmed the photons to be more powerful than the quantums.. hmm. makes sense.. Love how Brex says '' here we go again'' ahh Brex.. lol. and every time he says '' Captain, we have hull breaches and few sec later BOOM.. lol. This was an interesting battle.. and yes with the right tactics... still great job Admiral...!!! 😊🖖
Bred deserves his own show! Haha. My theory is it was some sort of cloak, possibly inspired by a certain EMH and BLT. Somebody needs to create the doctor so we can put him overboard in a fight 😂😂. Thanks Steve 🖖

Quantum torpedos are probably an overkill in many cases. So it makes sense to only use them when necessary.
Plus regular torpedos also serve some scientific purposes.
after thinking about what battles i'd like for you to do i came up with the battle of worf 351. but thats a very big battle with a lot of ships involved. plus, lets be honest; JTVFX did an amazing job remastering them.
so i thought about other battles you could do. like the stargazer and the enterprise vs that ferengi ship. (the name of the class eludes me) or the battle from yesterday's enterprise. where the enterprise-D and C fight against 3 kvorts. but in your video the C wouldnt run away.
i dont know if bridge commander has a galaxy class battleship as its called in the episode. it has been a long time since i last played the game. though, it could be fun!
I always felt Star Trek Bridge Commander nurfed the actual capabilities of Prometheus, considering this ship can destroy a Romulan Warbird (as per "Message in a Bottle"). Additionally, this game does Multi-Vector Assault Mode poorly. It's like the other 2 ships mindless fly around why the part you drive does all the work. All three parts of the ship should be doing beast-mode on any ship it fights.
Imo quantum torpedoes were kinda like HVAP shells in the US Army in WW2. High Velocity Armor Piercing shells took a while to build up inventory (mostly because the ordance department put off making them longer than they should've) thus they were sent mostly to the best units, and regular crews if they ever got them would only see like two or three at a time.
With the theory quantum torpedoes were complex and took a while to build it would make sense they'd be sent to the places that would make the best use of them (Soverigns, Definants, likely Prometheus, maybe some Galaxys) or to those who had connections in high places (such as Lakota).
How about Intrepid from Picard vs Titan-A? I wanna see that one!

@@MSR-1701 there are many Naguses in the galaxy, all gaining profit in their own way. But when I see health bars and quantum torpedoes unspent there is but one Nagus we call on to collect the debt unpaid… not the mediocre Nagus, not the slightly better than basic Nagus… the GRAND NAGUS.

As far as the hull being stronger on the Prometheus, it could very well be the case, like how the battleships of days past have MUCH stronger armor than modern day Navy vessels. However the modern day Navy vessels are designed more about not ever getting hit to begin with instead of tanking incoming hits like the BBs were designed to.

The Prometheus vs The Vacuum Cleaner
I think you missed the opportunity to fire the first forward torpedo salvo at the Duderstadt in the beginning of the fight. And at least one time where you didnt use your aft launchers after they reloaded. You want to maximize damage output.
I don't think the new photons are 100% as powerful, but they are close enough to not make it worth it to go through the trouble of mass producing a more difficult munition, or refitting launchers. Whereas in 2375 the Mark I Quantum was about 150% more powerful than the typical Mark VI Photon, I tend to think the new torpedo is probably more than twice as powerful as the old photon, or about 65% of a quantum. In times of peace, the difference isn't vast enough to warrant the dislocation of logistics and manufacture for every ship to carry them. In wartime that could be different. There is also the launcher issue. In the 2370s typical torpedo launchers could not carry quantums without refit. That is why we saw only certain ship types carry them like the Sovereign and the Defiant (Lakota was refit to carry quantum launchers), Dreadnaught's Cardassian quantums aside. In that example Voyager would have to refit their launchers to make it work, and also we know next to nothing about Cardassian quantum torpedoes and they may be completely different in terms of size than Federation quantums.

LOL ...... 25th century vs late 24th century encounter... 25th century is always the winner,IMO.... Flagship by definition is when a Admiral is on board a ship... Nautical trivia, USA 🇺🇸 here.... score is a C minus in a multi vector assault mode .... B + in 25th century ship... overall B - .... LOL IMO...
To me it makes sense for Prometheus to have quantums given it is a large thoroughbred warship. Why go to the expense of making such a powerful warship if you don't put your best weapons on it, when smaller and lighter armed ships like Defiant and Lakota are getting the quantums.
Does the Prometheus in this mod have regenerative shielding? I ask because that was a feature of the ship class along with ablative armor. Also the type 12 phaser arrays that the Prometheus carries were designed to be used by space stations only because of power requirements, with only the Soverign and Prometheus classes being able to field them because of the power requirements.

Nice vid retro. I think prometheus did a good job considering its older. And i agree, quantums are more rare and harder to make. Otherwise everyone wiuld have them, and that wouldn't make them as cool😅🖖🖖🖖

you're right. quantums could be used on more ships then most think. voyager could use, but didn't have them. defiant, enterprise. i think all borg defense designed ships could use them.
If only the Prometheus fired a quantum volley, instead of photons, although the game seemed accurate in which ship would win 🖖

Both the Duderstadt and the Sovereign class have multiple photon torpedo launchers at the front. Why do several game videos show single-torpedo launchers?
Seems like the Duderstadt is a bit overpowered, especially in relation to ship rust should easily blow it out of the ether.

It is suspected that the Prometheus class was randomly selected to appear in the series. The Sovereign class was called Lao Chuan by netizens after serving for 20 years.
The Prometheus class was in service until the 26th century and probably underwent several major renovations.

It's not that bad. Yes it's a bit strange the way the deflector is held but it's still would have made a better Enterprise-G than the crap half saucer ship we got for that.
