I still love the assimilation torpedo console. In the Solinae Dyson sphere I end up with Borgified Voth dreadnoughts following me around like lost puppies.
Stay on Target for a trait would be a way to get another torpedo on the build and fake an Experimental Weapon. Since it's a micro-torpedo and looks a bit missile like I can understand skipping it though.
I love watching torpedo spam, it always makes me happy. Though I think I would have done it on the Andorian Kuthar Pilot Escort ship and used its Console - Universal - Wing Torpedo Platforms for even more spam from HY and TS. Plus since the ship is pilot you can get the better shared cooldown from the Console - Universal - Covert Warhead Module so bonus spam all around lol.
I'd love to see a version of this where you swap out the Genesis for the Quantum Warhead module. I've only ever dipped my toes into torp builds, preferring energy weapons, but even my terrible torp ship has my highest single hit ever at 950k, using the Quantum Warhead Module.
Ive done this on my main toon. In a Risan Pilot Corvette All torps except an omni beam for a set bonus & trait proc. When it came to torps at first I had 3 wide angles up front, but as I have gathered new equipment, I think I am using only two now. I don't have the resources to get many of the traits/consoles you have, so i went for set bonuses and consoles that boost the damage, armor pen, and/or shield pen of my weapons & torps. Same with the traits. In a pilot ship the torps have the .5 sec global cooldown, and I use 3 purple torp duty officers giving me 20% x3 for cooldown reduction. It is a fun ship to fly. Much more to it, but I am already tired of typing :)
Interesting build, on the point of missed Trop Consoles etc. Not sure if it's a torpedo net gain or lose, but there is the Terran Rep Weapon Set 3pc that gives the clicky to fire more torpedoes with your torpedoes. But it needs the Beam/Cannon Weapon for that set. I think it's called secondary Torpedo Launchers. With the draw back of needing the energy weapon, I would counter that it makes the build a little more thematic for the Akira even as the dedicated Trop Boat it still uses Phasers.
An interesting build, but personally I'd switch out Hazard Emitters for Science Team, as it removes Subnucleonic Beam, which can play havoc with your cooldowns. Also, I'd drop that doubled console in favour of the Quantum Warhead module from the T6/Legendary Defiant, because hey! More torps! EDIT: The T2 Connie console would be useful in that when it triggers, it'll fire from ANY torpedo not on cooldown, regardless of facing. That would get your rear torps firing a little more, I think.
@@Stu1701 Yeah. It's easily one of the most annoying debuffs in the game, along with Viral Impulse Burst and the shuttles. Those are why my builds always include all three Team abilities.
I'd call it the: Damn the Torpedo build. As it is a dedicated Torpedo build not just squarely centered on the Torp meta, but just the lunacy of having torpedoes.
What about the Personal Space Trait "Threat Assessment Algorithms"? It warps in a heavy Photon Torp on the far side of the biggest enemy you're facing, once every 20 or so seconds.
Nah, wanted to stick with the meta torp setup. Hyper-plasmas are slow, and coupled with Rapid Emitter Armaments I'd basically be doubling my chases of accidentally killing myself with them. The Breen Cluster torpedo spawns mines, which aren't the theme of the build.
I always go torp spread over high yield. More torpedoes, and they can't miss, unlike HY which I've noticed misses quite a bit since the enemy seems to love using evasive right when it goes off.
The Tholian event set: When doing The Ninth Rule and they do that crap that forces you into full impulse... Zero damage, shield superbuff and if you've got the full set they pull toward you so they hit so many more targets. It totally doesn't suck.
Been running the faeht intel warbird with all torps. Its so not the meta but its fun as heck to be stealthed and just spit out torps no matter which end i have aimed at them. I mostly did it because i dont overly like mines.
You can now add the Micro-Quantum Torpedos Phalanx Array console from the Achilles Miracle Worker Heavy Destroyer and the Spinal Mount Plasma Torpedo console from the Praetor Command Warbird Battlecruiser.
The Achilles console I've already added. But the Praetor console has a 3 second activation time, which sucks so I'll probably skip that one for this build.
torpedoes have always functioned this way and tricobalts have always had an atrociously long cooldown. That's coupled with the fact that they're targetable projectiles has always made them pretty meh compare to others.
I have a very similar build on the Kwejian Pilot Frigate. My head canon says the ship is made of Programmable Matter, and strips off mass to replicate torpedoes. The only way to explain why so many torps fit into such a tiny ship. One console you missed was the Quantum Warhead Module, the old 'Six Shooter' console from the Defiant.

I probably would have traded out the Maelstroms for a Photon with the Spread modifier, the Quantum Phase torpedo, and maybe the Kelvin micro-torpedo launcher. There's a console from one of the Cardassian ships which puts out a platform that spams torpedoes.
Never was a fan of pure torp builds tbh. EPG builds with supplemental torps have always been superior IMHO for the mere utility and crowd control they provide. Both torp spreads and High Yield are just that more effective when the enemies are bunched up in a spot.

Doesn't the Enhanced Shrapnel Torpedo Launcher only slot on the Tal Shiar Adapted ships? So it wouldn't even work on the Leg Akira. I could be wrong.

Not in canon, but in Star Trek Armada, tbe Steamrunner has tricobalt torpedoes and functions like a long range artillery unit.
My only complaint is your game play footage is so far away from your shop it looks tiny and half of your visuals I can't even see.
