- Still on track to max the Army Combat Fitness Test this fall, documenting my progress with yet another ACFT taken "for fun" this time with the homies. Only been weightlifting on a 5000 calorie diet so far this year, just wait till this cut starts in September
I watched this video back again and I realize the deadlift form is absolutely disgusting. 600 coming this year with clean form, stay tuned.
600 and $5 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
This is my confession to the Universe: In 2015, I thought the ACFT was a terrible idea. NOW I am more Senior, and my eye have been opened. As a Field Grade Officer, the ACFT does give you a clear assessment of your Soldiers strengths and weaknesses. AND the Soldier that can perform well across all events, is truly a Stud/ Studette. The OLD Cooper Test/ VO2 MAX/ APFT did favored Soldiers with low body weight and muscle mass. They could run like the wind, but you put a ruck on them and they are worthless. MDL: Strength, Standing Throw: Explosive Power, SDC: Metabolic Conditioning, HRP: Upper Body Endurance, Plank: Core Strength, 2 Mile Run: Cardio Endurance. Well Done...
Great job! Very impressive. You have clearly shown that someone of your HT/WT and physique and who is in the USAR can easily max the ACFT. My only recommendation would be to ensure you are standing straight up in the up position on the Maximum Deadlift (MDL). This is also safer. There are also some strict NCOs that would not necessarily count some of the reps.
Great work, even though you didn’t get 600 you still did very impressive on these events. I’m thinking of going into the army and trying to see what the physical standards are like, I’m physically active and go to the gym 4-5 times a week with a lot of cardio mixed in. I’m a bit on the heavier side at 196, 5’11 though.
I think I could definitely do decently on a lot of these events
I see the graders aren’t strict. Good job, man. 590 is crazy.
Yeah I’ve had graders that are strict by the standard. That ball through would not count because he couldn’t stop his foot from touching the yellow line.
There’s no such thing as strict. There’s only the standard, and non standard. But looks like no one really cares anymore.
Killed it brother!
I got a 505 but just took it a week ago. I usually don’t do any cardio during winter months so I was ill prepared and a lot heavier than usual (bulk months). 39 @ 205lbs. My usual is 185-190.
I elected to take it so I can go to SLC in a few weeks. What hurt me the most was plank and the 2 mile (due to plank) as I have a fractured big toe 🤫
Plan to try and max it out early to mid summer.
Thanks a lot for the video
Good job brother 👏 👍 🙌 👌 💯
June 1st taking ACFT. USAR also. 524 on the last one. HRP, Plank and Run kill me. Gonna train over these next 4 weeks. See if I can’t get a 550
Good push King.
Appreciate it boss
cool stuff man, just joined the AR after 10 years in ARNG as infantryman.
Operation "get swole" 💪🏿
You're a goat. Keep it up.
Thanks fam!
Just an old NCO here , what's considered an an average score in the ACFT to a very good to an excellent score for an NCOER? Just being curious.
I can't say for NCOERs but among the other folks I was rated with on my OER, anything above 500 is pretty solid and average is probably closer to mid 400s depending on the type of unit you're in. That being said, I've found that even doing a couple weeks of prep before an ACFT helps me crank my score up quite a bit.
I heard about a new rule in which they waiver the weight standards if you score a 540 on the ACFT.
I realize that people in the service specifically ARMY or AGR don’t use football or soccer cleats on SDC event.
What typa shoes are those I might have to grab some those shits are 🔥
They're just Ultraboosts, make me run a quarter mile faster than my car
For the two mile run is it just one lap given the picture you showed?
Depends where you're at, but for example at FHL it's 8 laps on their little 1/4 mile track
I am 5.7 ft 138 lbs 22 years old and my max in acft is 538 any tips for that 340 deadlift
What weight are you doing now?
Stiff bar deadlifts, pull-ups and rows, dead hang. Those three brought me from 280 to 340 in six months and I haven’t missed 340 since
Personally I found that putting up more weight on the squat rack helped get me to 340 pretty quick. Unlike a conventional deadlift it's a lot more in the legs.
you and ace smoked the people in the background lmao
Someone had to do it, just had to be us
pulling that weight!!!!.....does the military have civilian strength coaches
Your graders were very lenient
Very lenient is not even the phrase I’d use , they didn’t give a fuck 😂 if I did any of what he did I would’ve gotten ZEROS/ NO GO
Lebrun James is the nba goat my boi
Excuse me i wanna ask that I have watched a few clips they push up continuously not release hand. Is that from marine of every boot camp has their way on fitness.
0:08 90lb body weight?
Maybe he mean 90kg?
See with me is for running is I'm a good distance runner but I wouldn't say I'm the fastest but Im for sure not the slowest
Lol my graders wouldn't have counted any of those deadlift reps due you "slamming" the weights....they expect you to gently bring it back down each time
I thought the same thing. Good effort and he’s a beast, but I know at most units I’ve been in they wouldn’t have counted that.
I would be cared about your ball throw cause your feet were touching the line, which it could lead to disqualify
He touched it twice, and on the last set he even stepped over it lol
you go to the gym, that means you had prep
I would’ve disqualified you on the deadlift and power throw. On the deadlift, it’s supposed to be controlled! On the paper throw you’re now allowed to step over on the starting line!
What ls not controlled about his deadlift?
@@david52875 you can’t slam the weight down, it has to be controlled Per ATP 7-22.01
@@tambort1414 I read it, it just says not to drop the bar. Controlled doesn't mean slow. It's bad practice to lower the bar slowly on a deadlift because it creates unecessary eccentric stress that makes it harder to recover from without any more benefit than the concentric portion. ruclips.net/video/w0z382j59tM/видео.html
@@david52875 you go to TRADOC, NCOES or any PME, they will disqualify anyone that does this technique during the MDL event. As a graduate of MFT this is one of the techniques mentioned as grounds for termination. I’m not telling you how to perform the event correctly, but do so at your own cognizance. If anyone in my lane does this technique, I would warn the soldier and if not perform correctly after, it would result in termination. And for you RUclips reference, it doesn’t fall under Army Regulations.
Also on his deadlift he moved his fingers which is a disqualification and his back rounded which some graders may disqualify for. But overall he still got that weight up
Ill teach you how to get a 600... maxed every pt test since 2011.
The ball throw is dumb. (Coming from someone who scores 90+ on it)
Hope this is not your everyday form tho, otherwise, its horrific.
Yeah the deadlift form was garbage that's why I record these videos. Carry on
I was gonna say the same just keep your chest to the sky and your good nothing personal just lookin out
@@th3nate 💯
Yes the form was trash and the graders helped. But don’t pretend you could do this. It takes tremendous fitness to score a 590.
Don't pretend like you're not upset because I would wipe the floor with you 😂
Bro, if you could rep, 590... 3 times... There is no way you cant do 600 for atleast A rep dude
you are lost
590 is his score, out of 600 points.
Not the weight
This DL form was atrocious, especially taking into account that it's easier to do it with this bar.
