  • Bodycam footage shows a Pullman police officer pulling over a vehicle after he noticed that the 19-year-old girl behind the wheel was driving recklessly. When he made contact with the driver, he immediately observed signs that she could’ve been driving under the influence when he noticed the smell of alcohol coming from her. The driver, Mairead Quigley, refused to perform any sobriety tests which resulted in her being arrested for DUI based on the police officer’s observations. When the two reached the police station, she was breathalyzed and blew a BAC of 0.179.

Did anyone catch how the officer says "I wouldn't" and "You should leave that up to her" when the boyfriend asks if he should call her parents. I just have to point that out, too, as super respectful advice of him to give the boyfriend. He's absolutely right that it should be her own choice to tell her parents or not as she is an adult. So not only is this officer recognizing this young lady as a human being, but also as an adult capable of making decisions for herself. And he doesn't patronize her throughout the video.
I have to say this is one of the best officers I've ever seen in any of these videos, and I hope he gets a pay raise. Let him be the example of all the good officers that are out there. Folks, they really do exist.

I can’t even imagine what it would feel like to be in some of these car accidents and how many could have been avoided if people just got an Uber. Or got a DD. Or just stayed home. But instead, they disabled themself for the rest of their life and killed the mother and her child in the car in front of them that WERE safely driving. People, please don’t drink and drive.
