Bodycam footage shows deputies confronting a couple appearing to be asleep on the beach while vacationing in Florida on Saturday. The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said Alyssia Langley and Timothy Stephens allegedly passed out drunk and let their young kids wander off. Langley, their biological mother, and Stephens, who “assumed a legal guardian role” to the kids, had various cans and bottles of alcohol surrounding them during their slumber, the police report said. Sheriff Mike Chitwood said, "These two clowns shouldn’t be in charge of...they can’t be in charge of themselves, let alone a 5-year-old or a 7-year-old." They were more concerned with their own well being than their children. If my wife and I fell asleep on a beach (which we NEVER would) and woke like this, we'd be screaming for the kids. My wife would be frantic, not at all worried about herself. I'd be answering questions while scanning and calling out for my children. The cops would be the last of our concern. Their only role, as far as I would see it, would be to first help us find the children. These two are just trash.

I was terrified to take my eyes off my kids at the beach. We always made sure at least two adults in the family were watching the kids just to be safe if not three. They did not get freedom at the beach until they were in their early teens. Young kids get drown in seconds in the ocean.

Thankfully the kids were found safe, they apparently had wandered off to a nearby hotel pool. Glad that there were people there who alerted authorities when they realized they were alone! They were actually only 5 and 7 years old...not the 7 and 8 years old that Mr. Mensa claimed.
