Lorule Castle SNES (A Link to the Past Style) - The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

- While I haven't played the game myself, I can definitely say that this is one of the most epic pieces of music from any Zelda game, or any game really. The music is masterfully contructed and there's so much going on in the later half and it's just really satisfying to listen to. This took me a really long time to make and I'm really happy with the result, so please enjoy and thanks for listening!

====General Information====
-I use MidiTrail to make the video. It is a program that gives you a cool 3D view by loading a piano midi.
-I don't show drums, samples and echoes in the video, this is to make it easier to see the notes.
-I use a plugin called C700VST .
-You can use my songs in your videos, as long as you put a link to my channel in the description. Also letting me know would be nice :-)
This song faithful to the limitations of the SNES (except for maybe the audio quality.) However the way I create these is nothing like actual SNES music programming, which is -of course a lot harder.
-The image that I use in the video isn't in any way 16-bit, it's just simple pixel art. I create the image myself by editing an existing image.
-I don't really take requests at the moment.
-Criticism is appreciated. but keep in mind that the SNES can only play a certain amount of notes at a time,
so that's why almost no song can be recreated perfectly.
-Enjoy!! Игры
Glad to report that the secret of Hyrule Castle's theme being in the song if you reverse the song is still intact, good job
What secret?
Lorule Castle’s theme is Hyrule Castle’s theme *backwards.*
No, it just has a brief segment of Hyrule backwards. Most of it is original.
How do you play a YT video backwards, though?
@@hyliasknight I wish.
I love how ravio is a purple rabbit considering you turn into one without the moon pearl in A link to the past
But you're pink.
Orange: link sus
Orange: pink
Orange: i mistyped
@@Kid_Cat64 dude the amongus meme is dead
also its bad
Someone should honestly remake A Link Between worlds in an A Link to the Past rom hack. Probably possible, but idk.
That would be dope.
Yes, yes, YES!
The only issue I can see is all the segments where you are a wall. How would you go on doing that? Mode 7 comes to mind but it was very limited in capacity back then
@@xartecmana yeah the wall parts would be hard to implement into snes. After a year I still want this tho
@@xartecmana try faking Mode 7
Splendid work! I love how it keeps the climactic feel of the original, it really worked out well.
Tater-Tot Tunes
Hey !
What are you doing here ? :p
Yep, splendid indeed!
Tater-Tot Tunes
Hey it’s tater tot !
Best final dungeon theme
Link the Hero of Hyrule totally
This one just RADIATES heroism. BOTW's does convey hopelessness but I think it's better to invigorate the player before the final fight.
@@weeaboo869 It's tough. What's better, reinforcing the player's determination or showing the power of the villain to increase the satisfaction of killing him?
@@n0kidneys Depends on the game, botw's castle theme does fit the game very well, it's less heroic because there isn't much to save compared to between worlds.
You wrong (he most be the héroe of legend)
One of the greatest things about SNES and NES modification of existing songs is what I like to call the Koji Kondo method: When theres only so much certain hardware can take, you need to strengthen the melody to grab someones attention and quickly. Loeder has an excellent grasp of this technique, which not only makes his tunes extremely memorable, but even lends the songs further to faithful reconstruction.
i agree with this cuz i just like this version of the song.
Now imagine if this played in Ganon's Tower instead of the dARK wORLD dUNGEON FOR THE EIGHTH TIME
Or that dark world dungeon only played there and that the rest would get snes style Albw dungeon themes (except desert palace)
ALttP is perfect the way it is.
@@psychedelicartistry People like you saying that is how the game was one of the most frustrating I'd ever played on my first playthrough. The game has merit, but it is very rough around the edges. You've just gotten numb to it through countless playthroughs.
@@Trianull Okay but ALttP is perfect the way it is.
The dark world dungeon doesn’t get tiring even after 8 times. It still feels unsettling
2:44 I loved it when Ganon’s theme kicked in. QwQ
I hear it
Sas literally got chills because it was just like the alttp ganon theme
This definitely sounds a lot more piratey with the LttP sound font.
What?
@@littlemoth4956 the strings make it sound like a pirate song, got it?
It would work in alttp
1700s sea shanties?
Isabella Van Ginkel I think that’s the plot to the phantom hourglass.
All I want in life... is a rom hack of A link to the past. With the only change being that the final dungeon has its theme switched for this magic
Play the game loeder. Trust me link between worlds and minish cap are the best ones with this camera angle.
What abouy a link to the past though
Noa Hoffmann A Link to the Past is a great game. But a Link Between Worlds is an amazing game.
@@CapnShades A Link to the Past is amazing, but Between Worlds beats it in pretty much every regard* :p
Dominik Fohl I can get behind that.
Ace in the Hole But why though? I think the old artstyle was even more moody, the new one could have been a big upgrade but looks very gray for some reason.
ALTTP was a bit more challenging/longer/less linear I think, with interesting dungeons
I love both though, I would advise people to play ALBW first because it's more modern and probably less frustrating if you don't know what to do?
Overall, I feel like you did a great job balancing the different parts in terms of instrumentation, dynamics, and articulation. It also helps that this is one of my favorite VGM pieces! It's always a pleasure listening to your works, Loeder.
Thanks!! I did indeed do a lot of work with the articulation to mimic the ALTTP style as close as possible, so it's good to hear that it's noticable :-)
Agreed
The longer the song goes on, the more epic it gets. Well done
He said he hasn't played the game, so he probably just listened to it somewhere else on RUclips, and that "more epic it gets the longer you listen" is how most RUclips music uploaders handle the "The song gets more epic with each major hurdle you defeat in the castle."
that's actually how the original Lorule Castle theme goes. Every time you open one of the locks of the boss door, some instruments are added. Check it out on the OST, at the end you even hear anvils and people shouting :D
I wonder how much more epic this could be in a 10 hour version...
This could totally have been from a Link to the Past and I wouldn't have known the difference
Sounds very legit. Love your recent step to 16-bit.
Took 5 years for this to exist, but it was worth the wait
Forgot to comment how much I appreciate this remix of yours.
Thanks so much! That means a lot :-)
This isn’t even from a link to the past and yet the style still gave me such nostalgia. A Link Between Worlds is by all means my absolute favourite 2D Zelda (alongside ALTTP, Minish Cap and Links Awakening). Gonna go back to play it right now for literally the 18th time😂😁
Gives me the same “this is the moment” feeling that the Hyrule Castle theme in BotW does
It's always a castle.
Ooh, the nostalgia. A link between worlds was my first Zelda game and this just brings me back...
I was about to ask how you could be nostalgic for a game that just came out in the last year or so, but then checked and nope, it's 5 years old now
*cries oldly*
If you want goosebumps, go to 1:07
Edit: This sounds really awesome on headphones! Sounds like you're in the castle.
ooooo ur right
That's when the real 16 bit nostalgia kicks in.
Yeph
i always forget how awesome the music was in a link between worlds, and then something like this finds its way to me
This is nothing short of amazing. It's accurate to the source material, and would blend well with the rest of the LoZ: ALttP OST. Great job, as usual!

This is so well done
It sounds brilliant!
This is insanely good. Thank you.
This is absolutely AMAZING! :D Great job man!
God, this theme is so good. Even a bit nostalgic. Awesome job Loeder!
THIS IS SO GOOD
Awesome job Loeder, it's great that you're making more stuff like this.
This sounds so bombastic. I love how much is going on and it all flows incredibly!
this is such an epic song! and in 16 bit it sounds even cooler! keep up the great work loeder!
ive never needed anything more i love albw so much thank u
Great work as always!
I love the music and this new look
You did a fantastic job 👍👍
This was one of the best arrangements that Loeder has done to date. Absolutely superb.
I had goosebumps from start to finish. Amazing work ! Fits so well with the SNES / ALLTP style ^^.
Wow this is amazing
Never heard the full version of this, but it sounds absolutely amazing. I thought it was going to loop like you do with a lot of the music you pick, but I'm glad I listened to all of it! Amazing job!
Ooooh this sounds so nice!
You are so good at making covers of Zelda songs. Keep up the good work!
Sounds so perfect
This is really well done !
It's shocking how well it works! Fantastic job!
This is the best Zelda track I’ve ever heard. Very well done! 👌❤️😊🎶👍🗡🛡
Amazing! I just made a new file on ALbW yesterday and for you to come out with this just makes the experience so much better
After falling in love with this song, I looked for awhile for the LTTP version because I assumed it was just an updated theme, but I love the SNES sound. You did a fantastic job, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for!
One of my favorite Zelda tracks of this decade, you did a phenomenal job making it true to alttp - sounds actually native to me.
Carry on like that!
An already great song sounds even greater in the musical style of its preceding game. Very nice work!
Please do Hilda's theme too!
I love how the in game version of this song slowly builds upon itself X3.
You did a great job with this as always.
Very nice, I like this a lot! Thank you : )
It's Amazing ! I love this music a lot and you did a fantastic job turning it into 8bit sound.
*16bit
Wow! Brilliant job of maintaining the intensity of the original. I love it!
This is amazing, makes it feel like I'm back listening on the snes
I could definitely fit this theme into Link to the past because of how amazingly you recreated every bit of the track into 16bit. I can already imagine it playing on a the pyramid where Ganon is hiding but with a lot more rooms and puzzles. Well done amazing job! ☺
OMFG as always an Amazing job :D
Incredible!
This reminds me I still need to find where the hell that last heart piece is so I can finally beat a link to the past.
Real talk though, this is an amazing rendition of my favorite lbw song, and this sounds like it came straight out of a link to the past. Amazing work!
AMAZING AMAZING AMAAAAZING!!!
So good!!! Makes me want to play the game again ❤️
Awesome! 💜
This is epic! It still retains the mysterious vibe of the original, but it's still new. Great job!
My most favourite track in LBW. You did an amazing job.
Oh wow I was just listening to different versions of this! What a fitting way to remix this, too! Incredible job.
This is one of my favorite legend of zelda games, and hearing this nostalgic remix really makes me happy. Also its partly hyrule castle theme in reverse and I found that to be pretty neat.
Damn this has me wanting to replay through ALBW again. Great work!
Yes! This so far has been your best application of modern-to-SNES remix, given the context of ALBW and what it stands for. More 16-bit ALBW, please!
Fantastic job :)
Great remix dude, keep it up.
A great rendition of my favorite music of my favorite Zelda dungeon!
This brings tears to my ears
wooooooooooooooooow this cover is so amazing you have talent :3
Aaahhh!!! so good!!!!
THIS IS AMAZING
You're thumbnails alone make me insanely happy
I normally don’t comment twice on one video but the 17 people who disliked this don’t know what hard work is
Amazing Remix!, Please do Lorule Field too!, That would be awesome!
JMGO But that’s just the Dark World theme from Link to the Past...
@@Unknown-us6xh yes, but it's a bit different, with different instruments and all!
JMGO But in aLttP style it'd be very similar to the original.
@@JMGO1999EternalMajorKakoEscoby It's a refined version of the Dark World, so it wouldn't be different. Lorule/Dark World theme in the style of the NES Zelda games would be interesting though!
@@klop4228 i sure it would sound different!, we just have to wait and see!
A Link Between Worlds is my favorite Zelda, and I love hearing music recreated in 8- or 16-bit styles, so this is a dream come true for me. Just as catchy as the original, and I adore it. Thank you for making this!
One of my favorite themes in the game, remixed into an amazing 16 bit theme... Wishes do come true!
I love it 😁💓❤💓 the song reminds me of the Link to the Past and Donkey Kong's games from the SNES. Great job keep up the good work
Wait 3 years for this and I’m sad I’m late to the party. Good job 👏
Why am I just discovering this NOW??? This is amazing!
This kinda makes me want to cry. It's glorious.
Reminds me of the better pieces of 16-bit-era dragon quest. That's a great great achievement ! I absolutely adore your work !
I cannot believe how authentic this sounds
Love this
Great job
WOOOOOOOOOOW!!
This is Amazing! :D /
¡Esto está Increíble! :D
Te quedó Suuuuuuuppeeeeerrrr Genial!
Youre alive!
the soundfont at 1:07 gives me a very Donkey Kong Country 2 vibe and i love it
This made me want to replay the game, easily one of my top 3 favorite Zelda games.
Yass!!!! My favorite song from my first Zelda game!!!
