Hey, so I know I'm like a year late for the party, but what instruments did you use to make this, this is awesome and I can't figure out what combos to use to make songs like snes Zelda.
@@leonardogomes9813 A lot of the music is from different Zelda games the music at the stables is Epona's song you can hear many different themes in the Hyrule Castle theme such as Balled of the Windfish, the castle theme from AlttP, or the them that plays when you are reaching Gannons boss room in OoT
A legitimately impressive translation of the original. It doesn't just sound good, it sounds _faithful._ Reverent, even. This is a genuine triumph of your ability to understand and translate what is a fairly complex song into a simpler format with minimal loss or compromise. You picked all the right melodies and supporting instrumentation; it's clean and precise without feeling empty or diluted. Might be one of my favourites of yours based on technical achievement alone. Excellent work.
there was like seven sounds playing at once at some point so not exactly faithful for gameplay with all the sounds, unless there was only one sound at a time excluding music. Snes had 8 sound channels so could only process 8 sounds at once
@@painedfetus8210 I believe a lot of games did use like 7 channels for music and whenever a sound needed to be played it would just override the instrument on that channel als long as the sound is playing so I'd stay it's still faithful. :)
There's just something about the SNES sound style that is so good! Same thing with 8-bit too. They have a certain charm and intensity. This is fantastic!
I think it's the attack of the instruments. They just hit so hard and crisp, giving the song a sense of serious weight in comparison to more realistic samples which may hit less hard. They're also designed in a way that sounds good together.
This song always gave me the same vibe as Snake Eater from MGS3. They've got those held notes reminiscent of early Bond films, they're both very gloomy and minor with hints of triumph peaking through, and they both beautifully and slowly escalate in tension and power. The only difference is that for the context of this song, you're actually climbing more than just a ladder.
1:24 - 1:52 my favorite part. First time i was positively surprised hearing the legend of zelda overworld theme in the background. It was like here everything started(old music) and here calamity ganon will finally meet his/its end(new, dramatic music).
This is incredible. It's like it was always meant to be. On a side note, I kinda hope we get the ability to customize more of how Link looks in BotW 2. I kinda wanna give him some sick, pink hair y'know?
If we can’t put the hood down, we riot. I have always wanted to be able to put the hood down without taking off the entire cloak, especially after seeing both Link and Zelda have hood-down cloaks in the first BotW2 trailer.
I still remember the first time i discovered your channel, back when you did the ALTtP version of Tal Tal Heights... i know i'm 2 years late but that orchestral drop at 0:22 sounds SO good. Genuinely sounds like it was taken straight out of ALTTP. I think having the original instruments for the Ganon leitmotif helps as well.
Okay, this sounds awesome. I love the BoTW Hyrule Castle theme and the original ALLTP one near equally, so to see a cover of the former using the instrumentation of the latter just makes it all the better here. Great job with the cover!
If A Link to the Past ever gets a Hero Mode (by mod or anything else), I'll 100% make sure to play this when I'm at Ganon's Tower. Fits the atmosphere soooo well! Amazing usage of the soundfont, really had some nostalgic feelings here. Keep up the good work!
