Would’ve been nice if he lived to play the Joker in a Joker solo film. One where he gets sent to Arkham and he meets Harleen Quinzel, his doctor. And how they end up falling in love, escaping and fight Batman again, but it would be a film focused on the Joker (as opposed to The Dark Knight focusing on both the Joker and Batman). It would show Joker’s and Harley’s interactions with each other, their plotting and how they set up traps and schemes.

One of the greatest performances in movie history. With what happened, for a long time I believed “The Joker” should be untouchable, never to be done on screen again, to respect this completely iconic and legendary performance. The trailer for the new “Joker” movie brought me here, though. And if anyone can bring another out another legendary “Joker” performance, it’s Joaquin Phoenix. I think enough time has passed and the new movie just feels like it’s the right project to bring back The Joker character. I will always love Ledger and his version of the Joker. It deserves every bit of respect and recognition it received. I’ll never forget seeing “The Dark Knight” in theaters for the first time. Walking out after it ended, I was in complete awe of what I had just witnessed. Still had the goosebumps on my arm. Hopefully Joaquin Phoenix and his version of The Joker becomes iconic in his own way. One last thing: Damn you, Jared Leto. Damn you.
he just seemed like such a bright and colorful and full of life person. he seemed like he had so much to give and so much to do and seeing him smiling kinda breaks my heart because i truly wish he could had lived to feel as good as he made the people around him feel. people describe him as if he was light and i, truly, believe he exhaled that feeling because there are people like that. i did not know him at all but as a human being to another, i wished he had more time.. it reminds me of cameron boyce’s death and it’s scary to think one day you go to sleep and you don’t wake up. just.. live your lives, allow yourselves to live and love and to be loved and to feel happiness. you don’t know how much time you have.
Heath was such a beautiful man outside and on the inside rest in peace heath we will love you until the end of time and keep your legacy going on and strong!
And to think that he was going to return as the Joker in the third film had he not die. This was confirmed by multiple people who were apart of the movie including Heath’s sister. Imagine an encore of that performance in part 3 along with Hardy’s Bane. Would’ve been epic! RIP Heath aka the greatest Joker ever...
I never expected him to be so young. He always looked older to me. Maybe it was just the makeup. Rest In Peace, Heath Ledger. You truly gave us the performance of a lifetime.
He's the real deal Joker in DC history. He's the most motivating and terrifying joker I've watched in all of DC movie. The Dark Knight is always my no. 1 favorite and most watched movie of a time and I'll never forget him from his legendary acting skills that turned their heads around from his influence and I'll give it a standing ovation to that. You'll always be my no. 1 joker heath ledger 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
I think he got scared.. He gave everything he had and maybe he was scared people would burn him to the ground given the shoes he had to fill. Or, even worse, he figured he'd nail it and knew he would rock the world and that scared him even more. I can understand tbh, its just a shame.
Bacon Sizzle True, thats why I said I *think* he got scared, I don't know.. Hell maybe he was hitting the blues and saw no way out, maybe he was dealing with it since birth, its not all that important tbh..
He took a bite of the forbidden apple so to speak, what he became in a movie role/character overtook what he was feeling and how he viewed society in reality. A switch was flipped and he found himself having the thoughts of "the Joker" that he created on his own and in doing so he found a freedom. A freedom that is often felt by true sociopaths, he knew this and in a way was at odds because he knew right from wrong but that was being overtaken by this personality that he created and once you go down a road to the point that he did, being the type of person he is/was, it was consuming and he began to see that overtaxing him completely, and found out that it was not only not frightening, but pleasurable and the real way to live life in the screwed up world/society we live in. He enjoyed a role to the point of wanting to live it in reality. But what do I know.....I'm only the one who tells you it's ok to bite the 🍎....I won't tell you how to live your life, that's why you were created with free will, you have to choose how you want to live your life.
After all that time working his butt off to be this wonderfully amazing character that I adore he never even lived long enough to see all his hard labor he lived long enough to give the world this phenomenal character though now his bones are all ash in 2019 he still lives in our hearts
Its sad he died because if he was alive he could've return. Only if ledger was still alive but it makes me happy that they at least made this in honor of ledger and that he won an award for best supporting actor

You ever have that idea of if time travel becomes a real thing of going back and stopping someone's death? If there was anyone I'd destroy all reality to save, it be this guy. Heath was an incredible gift.
It was SO amazing when the announcement for the second Christian Bale Batman film came out, and they said the villain was going to be The Joker, I have to admit that I was pretty much with everyone else's mindset as far as, "Okay...hmm. Jack Nicholson's interpretation was so awesome in the first film with Michael Keaton-how are they going to match/top THAT?" And then, I started seeing trailers for it with Heath Ledger, and I was like, "Oh my God-they did it, and THEN some! The trippy thing about Jack's interpretation was that he was amazing at instilling a bit of humor in the "psychopath." With Heath, there was really nothing all that "funny" about it-he was just pure psycho-evil, plain and simple! R.I.P., Mr. Ledger. You are sorely missed!
And, it was also SO sad regarding his passing because both he AND Christian hit it off IMMEDIATELY, as friends, and in interviews after Heath had died, you could tell Christian was extremely shook up, and he'd said that both he and Heath, between takes and scenes, discussed working together again, "post" Batman!
When I first heard that Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker for The Dark Knight, I was skeptical about that since I only knew Heath Ledger from The Patriot & A Knight's Tale. But after seeing the trailers and finally the movie at an IMAX theater, my doubts were put to rest as Heath Ledger was THE show-stealer from that movie. And I was shocked when I heard that he passed away before the movie was released. I even met Michael Uslan (the executive producer) many years ago who told me a story about Heath Ledger on the set of The Dark Knight when it came to the funeral scene, Michael told me that Heath was like a 'light-bulb' when it came to portraying the Joker.
This video was so helpful I liked it mid-way, but soon after I tried to like it again without even knowing. Thats why this video is “to good to be true”.
Not just the best joker performance. One of the best performances ever put on film period. It saddens me to think of what that man could have done..

0:40 Heard about his Joker notebook he wrote while he isolated himself but never knew he took video during that time too
In the end credits it should have said the Joker as the Joker
THIS .... THIS was the BEST depiction ,closest and most accurate Joker we all had been gifted in the film industry.... to bad it was short like Lived... he was a dedicated actor.... never forget his talent and performance 🌹❤️ ... rip Heath❤️
Mc-Laine_AC he’s good but this is not the most accurate joker.
the imitation at 1:30 was gold, you almost relive the scene
Heath Legend!! 💪🏾☄🔥💯💯
Actor-less performance, when I see the Joker, I can't even imagine Heath in there, such a perfect performance.
Why is that guy whispering?
I never expected him to be so young. He always looked older to me. Maybe it was just the makeup.
Rest In Peace, Heath Ledger. You truly gave us the performance of a lifetime.
There should be a law: anyone who invents a time machine should as the first thing they do bring back heath.
I’m crying I love him so much 💔😭
The lip licking could also be interpreted as Tardive Dyskinesia, a possible side-effect from taking anti-psychotic medications.
The best joker ever R.I.P Heath and Happy Birthday
Arguably the best joker on the big screen! RIP heath.
Heath Ledge is imortalized in this role and really made it his. Forever will his presence be missed,, He left us too early.
Heath was legendary in this!
R.I.P.
That performance can't be touched ever
Best joker/ acting ever! He is the Joker! I always compare good acting to Jack Sparrow, and he takes this above and beyond
I think he got scared.. He gave everything he had and maybe he was scared people would burn him to the ground given the shoes he had to fill. Or, even worse, he figured he'd nail it and knew he would rock the world and that scared him even more.
I can understand tbh, its just a shame.
What.
You couldn't possibly understand. No one knows why he did it except him. This is something that could have been haunting him for years.
Bacon Sizzle True, thats why I said I *think* he got scared, I don't know.. Hell maybe he was hitting the blues and saw no way out, maybe he was dealing with it since birth, its not all that important tbh..
no it was said that he start having nightmare about his Joker . so he overdose
Marty Benson nahhhh
this was great.I missed this movie and heath
One of the BEST JOKER'S of all time!! He is still missed
Greatest performance I've ever seen from an actor. You truly believe Heath is the joker.
In an alternate world, Heath Ledger goes on to become the greatest actor and director of our generation.
The man was a true genius.
What a talented actor
Its sad he died because if he was alive he could've return. Only if ledger was still alive but it makes me happy that they at least made this in honor of ledger and that he won an award for best supporting actor
RIP. We would have loved to have seen a Heath Ledger joker sequel.
RIP best joker you will forever be missed
the greatest thing all is, leave some video of you, doing things that makes you be remembered by. so when you leave.... some people could still smile even when they're sad. 😔
The greatest performance of the 20th century!!
Joaquin will do Heath proud
I bet Heath would still be the joker in all these movies if he was still.......here
You ever have that idea of if time travel becomes a real thing of going back and stopping someone's death? If there was anyone I'd destroy all reality to save, it be this guy. Heath was an incredible gift.
2pac, John cazale, boseman, jackson, biggie, aaliyah, cobain...... ?
One of the best Joker, that i ever knew...miss HIM.... the Legend...
you sold me with that "why so serious". hes a legend.
“You play with your toys”....
That part gave me goosebumps
