If you want an insane mess! The simplicity and flatness of the plane is what makes the effect possible. He is not pai ting on the complex model, he is painting/deforming the plane,. The complex mesh is folllowing the planes vertices.

it is not working. The step that warp the skin of Plane1797 to the Plane1798 can not be executed. It said that the Plane1798 do not has a skip modifier.
