    Ola JC, great review as always. Breakbarrel BSA Meteor has a long and beautiful history. I have some vintage Meteors that I've used since I was a kid and I really like them. This latest model is a different proposition. It's still light but with more energy, an ideally shaped beechwood stock and it's very pretty. A typical breakbarrel for hunting or plinking. BSA shares the same owners as Spain's Gamo and has been producing the spring and gas models in Spain and all the PCPs in Birmingham as far as I know, but it seems that there has been a change and they are now producing some springs in the UK. The Meteor Super is one of these models. And it uses the Gamo trigger as you said and looks great as you proved. Have a wonderful weekend. Cheers

      @@AirgunDetectives this model is new and has only been on the market for a short time. But even here in Europe it's not easy to find this model available. In the UK, there are many websites with this model available. But they can't sell airguns outside the UK via online sites.

    Ya know brother? Some of us have been following you since the beginning. Many of us have graduated to PCP's. I wish you would start reviewing more of them like The Air Gun Channel does. You were always my go-to guy for reviews, but since Rick is doing all PCP's, I find myself there more now. I have mad respect for you so I keep coming back, but if you want to grow your channel, you have to change with the times and review all of the new technology. Shooter 1721 does all of the new PCP stuff as well. I will always support your channel because you are the first one I ever subscribed to and I like how honest and thorough you are. However, if you want to keep up with the competition and grow the channel, which not only helps us, it will generate a lot more revenue for all the work you put in to this.. NTM Manufacturers will send you the most expensive PCP's on the market to review. NO ONE is as thorough as you are. You could take over YT like the Demolition Ranch did with real guns. Matt has over 11 million subscribers.

    I bought his trigger screw for my GAMO whisper fusion mach 1 rifle, it made a world of difference, the CAT trigger is good, but that little screw turned that rifle into a sniper rifle . buy it with confidence, just make sure you add a little drop of thread locker and let it dry overnight before shooting a bunch of rounds, specially with the magnum rifles.

    Thanks for the Review Great Gentleman, I bought this rifle 10 months ago, and it's shaped, and handmade very nicely, quality is excellent, However, the accuracy I did not make me happy so sent it back and watched more of your videos and decided to get HW98. Thanks for the great reviews, I really enjoyed it, You are one of my favorites in this airgun community, You are cool Sir! Greetings from Tucson, Old Tucson!!! :)

    I still have my BSA meteor super 4.5mm that I got in 1979 for my 16th birthday. My uncle learned me how to shoot but I was not allowed to have one for my self until I was 16. At my 16th birthday I came back from school and my uncle was there with the BSA. My best birthday gift ever. In 2 days it is 45 years ago 🙂 But it looks much different as the modern version and was build in the UK

    Great show! I believe BSA still uses the UK hammer forged barrels. They are back bored to .30 cal from the muzzle back down the bore a few inches (everything else is Gamo). I'm surprised they were pellet picky given their reputation. If there are burrs in the rifling a few dozen passes with J&B bore paste on a .22 nylon brush might be just the thing for those fliers. Keep up the good work!

      @@AirgunDetectives That Meteor just seems like a very good basic break barrel airrifle. Got a Ruger X5 .177 break barrel, which doesn't shoot that hard, and also is quite light. The Ruger really surprised me, being a light backyard breakbarrel plinker for the backgarden. Just do easy-to-shoot kinda airrifle - and this one gives me kinda the same vibes - even yours though being a nice BSA. The Ruger is more kind of a cheap plastic stock airgun.
      You have a good weekend also! 😁👍🏻

    I'd buy a BSA air rifle in a heartbeat if only there was a dealer here in Canada. I've always like BSA rifles I had one in .22 rimfire but ( stupidly ) sold it! ( Why do we do those things to ourselves )
    In my mind, it's a real pity that BSA ( Birmingham Small Arms ) was sold outside of England. However I do understand that 'business is business' as they say, and Gamo is a good airgun
    builder.

    Got one when AoA had them on sale. Love the not automatic safety. The sight / stock alignment is not anatomically correct (for me). Installed a Hawke scope I had, removed the sights, problem solved. After experimenting with a dozen different pellets, installing and tuning an air stripper, mine likes the Crosman Premier hollow points just fine considering my eyes are 70 years old. Best $200 I ever spent.

    Random thought, could it be the barrel warming up from friction

    • @AirgunDetectives
      @AirgunDetectives  2 месяца назад

      Hi Bobby, it would take some serious rapid fire to increase the temp. Like most pellet rifles, it does take some time to "Season" the barrel. After about 400-500 rounds you will see exactly what you have. Have a great weekend and thanks for watching!😉👍

    • @TheGutshotpro

      Have owned the Lightning XL (same thing) and it wasn't the best. It seems to be a combination of the shorter carbine barrel and light overall weight of the rifle that results in poor accuracy. Even running H&N Barracuda Match pellets (which work well in may rifles) the accuracy was inconsistent. It is also hard on scopes. The suppressor does a reasonable job, but average accuracy means I would recommend buying something else. It simply takes the fun out of it. For plinking out to 30m it is fine, but if using for pest control then I would recommend a Weihrauch (or similar) as their triggers and overall accuracy are superb.
