Purring in your presence
More often than not, cats purr when they are happy and content. If your cat purrs when you pet them, it means they feel very comfortable around you, and that they are happy you are there.
Do keep in mind that cats also purr when they are in pain or nervous.
An upright tail when you are around
You can learn a lot about your cat’s feelings if you observe their tail closely. Although a lowered tail, a puffed-up tail, or an arched back is a signal that a cat feels threatened, an upright tail or a "question mark" shape of the tail indicates that your pet is confident and happy in your presence. A tail curled around your leg or arm is also a sign of affection and friendship.
Your cat follows you around
If your cat follows you around the house, you're probably a big interest of theirs. Research has shown that cats view their owners as a source of safety and comfort. So when you disappear behind a closed door, they might feel less safe and seek you out to continue to take advantage of the comfort you provide them.
They lick you
More often than not, cats lick you to show you affection and love. it’s their way of grooming you and showing they care about your wellbeing. In the wild, cats that are close to one another often groom each other.
Your cat headbutts you
A headbutt is another way in which cats can tell you that they love you.
By rubbing their body against you, they are identifying you as one of their friends, and marking you as their own property.
Felines have scent glands on their forehead, chins, and cheeks that release pheromones. By rubbing their face on you, your cat is depositing their unique scent on you and marking you as a buddy. They mean to let other felines know that you are their special human.
Your cat shows you their tummy.
If your feline friend is laying or rolling on the floor with their belly up beside you, it is a sign that they feel safe and are comfortable being vulnerable.
Your cat nibbles you a lot
Some cats express their affection through gentle love bites. This is definitely distinguishable from an aggressive bite, as one hurts and the other doesn't.
If your cat likes to nibble on your arm or toes, it is a sign that your pet wants to play with you, and that you guys are best buddies.
Your cat kneads you
Kneading starts just after a cat is born. This action is used to stimulate milk flow from their mother. Because your cat associates the warmth of their mother and a full belly with feelings of happiness, they may continue to do this whenever they feel content or happy with you.
If your cat kneads on you, it is a sign that they enjoy your company, and that they accept you as part of their family.
Your cat blinks at you slowly
The slow blink is another sign of feline affection that is often missed by humans. If you notice your cat stares at you and they slowly close and open their eyes, they are trying to tell you that they trust you and care about you.
Next time you see your feline slow blinking at you, try mimicking their slow blinks to return their affection!
They nap with you
Cats are very particular about where they sleep. if your cat chooses to nap near you, or even on your head or lap, know that you are someone special to them. If they feel safe enough with you to fall asleep near you, they really trust you.
Calm expressions
Cats are so subtle that even a neutral expression can mean they are ecstatic to see you. A calm cat displays relaxed body language indicates that everything is good and that your feline is happy being in your presence.
They gurgle all the time
If you hear your cat growling, hissing or yowling when you approach them, it's a sign that they are upset and potentially feeling threatened by you. However, soft meows, chirps and trills can all indicate your cat is in a particularly cheerful or excited mood. Your feline companion is happy and is enjoying your company.
Bringing you dead animals
Though they might not be the kind of things you'd put on your wishlist, your cat may bring you presents - like a dead mouse, frog, bug, trash, or their toys - because they love you.
Cats are natural hunters, and they only share their prey with someone they trust.
They hang out in your space
Cats often scatter when they don't feel comfortable and they'll slink off when they are feeling stressed. They will often show animosity or discomfort, particularly with strangers, by simply vacating the premises.

@@JustMe-hq1sj Maybe there was a reason for it. My cat for example came home covered in cow shit and we gave her the first bath of her life. Obviously she didn’t enjoy it, but she would’ve needed way to long to get rid of everything.

I never really understood why people love cats. I was a dog owner for 12 years so I never really thought of owning a cat until 2 weeks ago. I decided to get one. My dog died last year so I waited months before getting a new pet. I wasn't even considering it until I stumbled upon a Facebook post. It was love at first sight.
All I can say is that, ever since I got my cat, it feels like my house has been blessed with love and joy. I can't explain it. It's just pure bliss, peace, and happiness.

More animal lovers need to actually have cats. They are the best.
I have two dogs, they are not my first dogs either. I adore my female dog, she is now 11 years old, an epileptic, and very active. But the absolutely best animal friends I ever had were two cats. One special old grey male cat who later life befriended a young ginger male cat, and between them I had 26 years of loving them so very much! Unfortunately the three cats I have now are a bit ordinary in comparison. I am so glad for you that you obviously have one of the great ones!

My cat follows me absolutely everywhere around the house, and whenever I’m downstairs he will either wait downstairs or at the top of the stairs for me. Sometimes he will meow and signal me to the stairs 😂 I love him

I don’t know why but I started crying watching this video. My cat has saved my life and opened my heart. After a couple harsh years I can finally say I love something so much. She is the best I adopted her from a shelter (she’s 2 years old) and even though it was hard at first we have bonded a lot . She is so sweet let’s me rub her belly and let’s me pick up like a baby n give her kisses. Of course she has boundaries like any other cat but she’s the best.
Being a cat owner means the cat owns you.

I’m watching this because I met a really good woman who will be my wife. Coming into her life meant that her cat also comes into my life. I’ve never had a pet but I have a thing for animals. The first time I met her cat, he was the sweetest little guy ever and allowed me to pet him. Every time I see her cat, I give him all the attention and love he wants. It’s just so cute to know that he feels so safe and trusts me. I love my girlfriend very much but I also do love her cat just as much. He is also family to me 😋

In my experience, cats are the best emotional support animals. They know when you’re upset and try to comfort you. Not only that, it’s been proven that the vibration of their purrs are very healthy for you in many ways, including lowering your blood pressure.
My cat sure knows when I am upset. One day when I got frustrated because of a tech issue, he came over and rubbed on me and it was super cute.

Mines old but she's not well at all. she means the world to me. I would give my life for her. She's like my medical cat when I found her I was in a bad place and she was aswell. being a stray. But we have the strongest bond we can't live without each other. She's been so ill. Breaks me apart especially when she had to stay at vets for 3 days. I could only imagine how she felt as I wasn't there for her. We have never been apart.

Watching this because I just lost my beloved cat, Millie, last month. She was the most affectionate and lovable cat. Millie would often climb the back of the sofa while I was sitting, and knead my back. She would sleep on my lap and just lay down on the floor near us when we’re having a meal on the dining table. We miss you every single day Millie. Thank you for being such great company for 7 years. I will never forget you.

My two cats are littermate bros and they do all this to me and eachother. Its kinda nice. They wait for me at the door when i get home from work. Always have to watch me when I potty or shower. And the one always kneads me when I go to bed.

I have two young kittens and they're already showing me so many of these signs. It's a big comfort to me because I know they're happy and have settled in to the home. I love my little Daisy and Felix so much and wouldn't be without them. I lost my cat Billy at the start of the year which broke my heart and I didn't know if I was ready to bring a new fur baby into the family but I really lucked out with these two and they have certainly mended my heart xx

One of my dad and stepmom’s numerous cats is such a love bug that the minute you start petting him, he IMMEDIATELY headbutts your arm and purrs! After a few years of only seeing my dad during the summer and every other Thanksgiving/Christmas, I finally got the cat to curl up in my lap for a half-hour! Another one of the cats really likes me for some reason. Though she doesn’t follow me, she always waits outside the guest room door every morning for me and whenever I return back home she spends the entire day looking for me. One Christmas holiday I was sitting in my stepmom’s chair because it was close to an outlet and I was charging up my iPad while watching Braveheart for the first time ever. The girl cat, Bailey, decided to take a nap in my lap, paws fully extended. She could’ve slept all day long if I let her, but I was getting hungry for lunch and I had to go to the bathroom so after 40 minutes I had to “call it in.” But I quietly took a picture with my iPad to forever capture the moment

I have used the slow blinking technique on a stray mama cat with her 5 kittens she gave birth in an alley near by house. I use to feed her and the kittens daily. She was a complete stray, but she let me touch her kittens also.
I had a little mini cat that passed away when he was 1.5 last year but I named him baby shadow (he looks exactly my older cat Big Shadow) because he literally followed me around like crazy. I've almost tripped over him at least 100 times. I have videos of him literally following me and stopping when I stop lol I remember every morning when I would get in the shower as soon as I got out he'd be waiting for me to bite my toes, all you could hear is me yelling "I'm going to end up falling if you don't stop biting my toes!". He was my best friend and I've had and still have many cats, but he made a huge mark on my heart. He was so sweet and playful. One time I caught h laying perfectly on a tiny pillow (perfect size for him) on the couch, I'm still super curious how he got up there since his legs were sooooo tiny. He did it once and never again lol. I miss him every day 💛

That is how my Shadow got his name. His shelter name was Hutch (brother cat was Starsky), but after a day of having him follow on my heels, I quickly changed name to Shadow.

When I adopted my cat whenever she would greet me her tail would be solidly fully up. It was like the muscles inside the tail were rigid and stiff haha. Now it's usually up in the air, but sometimes with half down. I put it down to her just being more relaxed with me now, she no longer has to keep reaffirming the fact she is friendly and likes me. She is always with me when I'm at home. In fact she will very often become a bit of a pain when I am trying to do stuff LOL.

I am about to adopt a cat, and even though I had been around them when I was a kid, there are so many things I didn't know or don't remember, as an adult, I want to be a responsible owner and have a healthy relationship with my cat. I know more about dogs but definetely there are not the same, and I know every cat has a different personality. I think watching videos like these are very helpful to understand your feline friend, after all we want to make them happy :D
I think the most important thing most cats respond positively too is a feeling of safety. They are not food/treat motivated like dogs, but if you can establish a calm atmosphere they will love you forever. Provide the safe haven they want, and the cat will provide you with crazy loyalty and friendship.

When my handsome orange tabby, Dennis, brings me a critter i always make sure to make him feel appreciated…and i also do my best to not dispose of it in his presence, in an attempt to make him think i actually ate it. He’s such a good boy, and he seems VERY happy with my family…he does pretty well all of the things on this list at least….Kisses, headbutts, trills, kneads, gifts, fully erect tail pretty much all the time, sharing of sleeping spaces, presenting his belly…according to this video, he MUST be a happy boy.
My cat loves sleeping next to and talking to me lol. He ALWAYS meows or makes a lil sound when I talk to him, makes sure he’s knows that I know he’s listening to me. I remember a time when I was really upset, I was crying and the little guy put his hand on mine, and he stayed with me till I stopped. I’m blessed to have him, he’s perfect.

Quick little story about my childhood cat: he LOVED me ... as long as my parents weren't home. When they were gone and it was just us, he loved me. As soon as they came home, he acted like I didn't exist anymore ... to the point that he would fly out of my room to greet them at the front door and completely avoid me once the car alarm noise went off outside.

The other day my boyfriend walked in on my cat and I just slow blinking at each other for like twenty minutes. He asked if we did this often (the answer was yes) and then he ended up joining us. It's so funny when it happens because my cat will appear out of nowhere just to start blinking at me from across the room.
To be a cat's favourite is one of the highest honours on earth. I love my cat, Lilly, a lot more than many people, and don't ever make me choose between her and most humans.

I never thought a cat could teach me about myself
My late Cornish Rex, Coco Chanel, would start purring by just looking at me. This would be accompanied by that precious slow blinking. She loved intense hugging and snuggling. She was an extraordinary cat/breed. One of those truly special standouts
my cat purrs whenever I walk to him! and also he loves playing in my room and hiding under my bed lol.
My cat says hello to me and won’t do it to anyone else. She can also say my name. Responds to “where’s (my name)?” And purrs whenever I wake up. She even is trying to say good morning sometimes but it sounds a little off, the first word she learned was my name. And she runs to me if she feels threatened. My goodness, I love that cat.

My cat follows me around, jumps on the table when I'm eating, lays down w/ me on my bed, and even goes in the bathroom when I'm in the shower! I know that my cat, Cinnamon Roll, loves me so much. I know a lot about cats, and sometimes even mimic their actions because I am obsessed with cats. This vid is awesome. Now I know how to show great affection to my cat
I have these full spectrum grow lights for my carnivorous plants and my cat loves to sun bathe in my room now. She’ll chirp and lay down belly up, truly the cutest thing I’ve seen
Little advice : never block the exit when your cat wants to go somewhere or leave

@@mehleenaahmad8850 ummm not sure if Jelly is implying this, but one of mine got mad freaked out when closed in my bdr yrs ago and left puddles of nasty anxiety/freaked the f out diarrhea everywhere...including in my bed. 🤢🤮

Lol cat she steals the neighbors flowers and bring them to me. That was the funniest thing I ever seen.❤️
My cat does a lot of these, but she doesn't want to sit immediately next to me, be picked up, or sleep on the bed. She has a great personality with some hard boundaries on close personal contact.
Her foster said she spent time on the streets though. Not feral, but learned some distance, I guess. Her half meows are cute.

I doubt thats true! If you've enough love to give to fulfil the needs of multipule cats & your daughter im certain other folks will pick up on that & it will endear you to them 🥰
@@RoboCatTrainer it isn't true. It's just that I live with my son, new daughter-in-law, and step- granddaughter. In my way, I love them all, and have gotten close to my granddaughter, but three generations in same house, we but heads a lot!!+++ My daughter is much more like me, and we get along more easily. And my cats are my babies.

I live in a village with 9 cats, they always brings me mouse and 3 times brought me a little snakes in my home 😀😀 oh yes, I love them too but I don't bring snakes home 😊😄😂

My cat name is Luigi, she's a girl and about to give birth to kittens. I am also one of those pips who don't really like petting animals. But, since then Lui came to us, everything went change. She always follow me and whenever I am not in the house, she will wait for me in our gate. And when I came home, I can see through her eyes and "meows" that she misses me and loves me ❤️
Just as you said your cat nibbled you my cat did just that. She doesn't do that often. She doesn't do the slow blink but she does everything else on this list. Same with my boy cat. And both my cats let me pet their stomaches. They love it. And my Girl loves to bring me socks, lol.
