It's definitely built on old-school D&D style fantasy. Completely avoiding the cultural rot of really dominant names in the genre like Final Fantasy or Warcraft or Warhammer.

My goodness, DD2 looks amazing! There's so much about this game that I'm stoked for: The ability to swap classes/vocations at a whim, the AI/pawn companions, multiple playable species, rich world buildings, and more

If you haven't played the first one yet, now is the time! It's a hidden gem. There's a reason that this sequel is generating so much hype.
I'm curious about the Elves since there's no playable race for them but they're part of the main story. Hope the DLC will let you create Elves as a character and explore they're side of the story.
since the elves are a secluded race maybe it didn't make sense for the narrative. plus looking for someone tat speaks their language is a gameplay element that wouldnt make sense if you were an elf. in the character creator you can make the ears pointy though and get a close elf

The only improvement I'm hoping for from the original game is that the world map feels a little fuller, and the stamina bar be a little longer. Sometimes it felt like it took hours of running through nothing to get from one side the world to the other.

Everything looks absolutely amazing except for that questionable framerate. It will be interesting to see if PC performance will fare better.
A streamer was playing the game earlier and it was running at around 40-45 FPS in combat without the day 1 patch. It’s very possible the low frame rate issues will be fixed on day 1 and even if they aren’t, it isn’t going to be 20 FPS in combat like some people were saying

Me and my friend have this same distaste for deserts in games lol but I’ve noticed that some modern games have done a great job sprucing up desert regions to keep them interesting despite their lack of color/detail i. e. Ff7 Rebirth and Granblue fantasy relink

PC players aren't getting locked they can go higher fps like 60, 120, 144. only 30 fps on console because console is hella weak and outdated, lol. Could've saved some money and bought a PC instead of 20-30 fps console, lmao.
