I feel like I am even more confused than when I arrived lol. So if I launch a 3-2-2 with one marketing angle, what metric do I look at to pick the post ID and put it in my winner's ad set? Also, why not scale the Flexible ads directly rather than moving them around?? If Facebook gives it spend, should we not just increase budget on the overall campaign?

This is gold! Answered my question exactly! I took a quick look at my current Flexible Ads, and the Post with comments for me always combines the First Uploaded Image, First Primary Text, and First Headline. Three from three - never the second or third image or second headline or primary text. That can't be just a coincidence?? Surely you've seen Post IDs that combined differently for you?

Charlie, in the past with DCT's we'd get the supposed winner combination id and use it in an ad set with only winners.
How would you approach that now with the Flexible Ads?
Would creating Flexible Ads in only ONE Ad Set make it more efficient?
OR as when adding the Ads to an ad set it may restart the Leaning Phase so would you rather create each Flexible Ad in a separate Ad Set? If so, the reason would that be is due to the learning phase restarting I've mentioned of other reason(s)?

    Hey Charley
Is the future of this all that:
    1. We will abandon the PG in our testing campaign
    2. Instead, release 1 flexible ad per ad set
    3. When we can't scale it further, pull the best flexible ads into a control campaign and keep putting new ones into the testing campaign
    4. However, the control campaign will now be run with flexible ads (not post IDs as in the past) and the machine will continue to drive the process?
Q: in the control campaign with that environment, would we avoid grouping the flex ads into one ad set, so that we don't disrupt and restart learning?

@@CTtheDisrupter legenddddd. Just watched through your response - thank you! There is still some confusion for me.
I've taken the whole FB MBA program, and I had the understanding that for big enough accounts we would start with a Testing campaign, then migrate the winners from the Proving Ground (PG) in there into a Control Campaign.
I have notes from class outlining how in when we make this move (keeping the testing campaign live with a small spend to test new concepts) that we launch the Post IDs from the PG into the control campaign with one audience per ad set:
      A. Broad
      B. Stacked LAL
      *exclude past converters from both
      So I have 3 questions.
      1. Have I understood correctly from the MBA that for large enough accounts we graduate from a testing campaign only into a testing and control? (This is what I heard you teach specifically at 12 minutes on your lesson called "Creative Testing Next Steps - DCTs")
      2. IF YES to #1 > For smaller accounts where we never graduate into a control campaign & we just have the testing campaign: with the rollout of Flexible Ads, when we have a winning Flexible Ads dominating spend, do we now pull that whole Flexible Ads into the PG? (VS in the old way we used to pull a POST ID from the DCT into the PG)?
      3. IF YES to #1 > For the large accounts where we move into a Control Campaign, how do we now structure that campaign? Do we put the entire Flexible Ad into each ad set labelled above? a) Broad b) Stacked LAL - what about resetting the learning phase?

Hey Charley, love the content, and you've mostly simplified Meta ads for me. I'm not a pro marketer, but I've taken on the role at my employer - we're a brick and mortar sporting goods store with an ecommerce presence. We've historically struggled with advertising because we have several departments that don't always have overlapping customers. Where we've typically advertised, we've had to squeeeeeeeze in the most wide appeal, which meant some departments fell to the wayside. We used to, before I took this role on, put up a post on Facebook and then boost it for engagement which got us a lot of bots. What we've started recently to do, is to advertise specific events or promotions in their own campaign, but that means we're bidding against ourselves for the ad placement when they overlap.
I've heard you say one campaign per business objective, so my question to you is this:
If I set up a traffic campaign to direct people to informational landing pages (like for in-store only service offerings and promotions) and a sales campaign to direct people to product pages or event/rental signups, would you recommend setting up an ad set per department, and turning the ads in them on and off, or setting up an ad set for each promotion, and would you use CBO (with or without ad set spending limits) or Ad Set budgeting?

    • @CTtheDisrupter
      @CTtheDisrupter  Месяц назад

I don’t think I would really ever do a traffic campaign, but I would love to hear you talk about catalog ads and you could even have different ad sets for each department with the catalog being customized only that departments needs and I’ll bet you get a tremendous results letting that up, the majority of the budget is not promoting specific events

@@CTtheDisrupter thanks Charley! Our ecom platform is moving us to Shopify as we speak so I'm definitely excited to get dynamic product ads going. Boss has requested that we focus our efforts for now on growing the brick and mortar, which is why we've been focusing so heavily on promoting in-store events and specials, but I think Shopify is going to give us flexibility with the ecommerce side that we haven't had in regards to bundles.
