Beautifiul Mana Pools - was there in 1986 - very wild and special place . Thank you for the video.
Awesome video footage, brings back memories for me, please keep sharing!
Seeing James brings a smile to my face. Hearing Kirsty doubles it.
Thank you for taking us along on your bumbles.. Mana Pools looks amazing!
Thank you for coming with us!
Like the voice of an old friend...Well done James and Kristin!
I could watch elephants for hours! Thank you for sharing footage of your adventures in this beautiful place.
The “stick”. Most comical moment in history 🤣❤️
My wife is most amusing
James has a fearsome angry face! (I had to go back and capture a screenshot. lol)
What a Beautiful location! The landscape is very special and then to just have various groups of animals „strolling“ and „lolling“ around as if they didn`t have a care in the world and those „people“ were just another species stolling and lolling!
Very creative filming and enchanting countryside! Thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures!
Oh the memories of the camp and surrounding area. Mana has to be the most amazing, special and most breath taking locations on this earth. Watching an elephant stand on his hind legs to get the pods - just spectacular and awe inspiring. The eland of Mana Mouth, the hippos and crocs of Long Pools , very special. Not forgetting the mighty Zambezi river, truly magnificent. Mana Pools holds a special place in my heart and will always be a reminder of my time exploring it.
Thank you for your footage and look forward to the next instalment.
Kind regards to you all.
Ele reach one of my fav sightings but wowza never seen one climb a tree demonstrating tremendous balance, stupendous capture!!
those narly trunked trees tho! 🥰 and the tree "climbing" ellie. yes, that lighting makes it look so ethereal...magical. sorry about the yogurt explosion...indeed a special kind of gross to clean up and all too unseeable. bravo, y'all...looking forward already to next time. kudos to the PIL's for the great bday gifts!
Whenever I see a video or photo of an elephant standing up reaching high into a tree, my first thought is that this is Mana Pools. I've only had the privilege of visiting there one time. It was with a group of men. We had elephant and buffalo in our camp. On a walking safari, we were charged by a mother elephant who thought we had come too close to her with her little one. She stopped the charge and then came again. I remember the guide saying with the gun aimed at her..."I don't want to have to shoot this girl...". He didn't. She turned away. We went back with what we thought was an amazing story. It was! But, it was topped by the group who went canoeing on the Zambezi. One of their boats turned too close to a pod of hippos and was attacked and tossed from the boat. They made it to shore and the second boat was able to help get them back to camp. When we look to look at the canoe in their storage area I noticed a second canoe with a hole in it. "When did this happen," I asked. "Last week", I was told. Then, a third canoe with a hole. Same question. "Last month..." Mana Pools is a wild place!
That is wild!
I miss James on drives!! So thanks for this….love it!!
The Ellie was pure magic. Can't wait to see more of your abventures.😎👏
Watching this is like a bit of Heaven entering my life.
I think these Mana videos have been my favourite of your trips so far. Thanks for bringing those of us half way around the world on your trips
Absolutely stunning place!! great footage and beautiful musicalization. Thank you so much for sharing the adventures.
I’m looking forward to watching another episode! Your videos brighten my week. Blessings…
Loved it! 13 mins is such a tease..... even 2 hrs wouldn't be enough. Can't wait until the next episode!!
Love the footage of the ellie at the Sausage tree. Happy Birthday James!!
What an absolutely beautiful place! I do envy you.
The landscape is so bare, no grass , looks dry but yet there is the mighty river, nice edit James, thanks for taking us with on your adventures.
Your views of such an exquisite full moon is breathtaking!!!♡♡♡
Oh Mr. Hendry.....Over the years, as I have watched wildlife videos of others, I would often say to myself "That was a good day for them!"
But how many folks can say they saw an ellie climb a tree ??!!! Now, THAT was a GREAT day....for you. It was also a great day that you shared it with me.....
Enjoyed this very much…outstanding to catch the Ellie climbing the tree…and captures of the spectacular moon…🤗🤗
It was very special
So much fun….as always, a great mix of divine and ridiculous! Loved the music, and the bull Ellie climbing the tree….and Kirsten offering you a “stick” for your monkey troubles!
Fantastic! It was almost like that ellie was posing for you. What an exciting and beautiful place. Thanks James and Kirsten and lovely in-laws for sharing your adventure with us.
Words evoked by this episode: idyllic, magical, wonderful, spectacular, peaceful, etc.! You get the idea. I enjoyed it immensely from start to finish. The only complaint I have is that ended! I am looking forward to more. Sorry you had to deal with the exploded yogurt, ugh messy! It was nice to hear Kirsten more often also. Everything is so crisp and clear, it's just beautiful. Thanks as always for sharing.
Another great episode coming 👍🏻
Stunning location. Elephant climbing a tree was a first for me. Great footage of all the wildlife. Well done both of you.
Was a first for us also!
Hello beautiful people James and Kirsten ❣️...wow as always..lovoooed watching...yes the Elephant Bull was magical to see... Kirsten finding James a stick well lol I Did!! Xx
James, it's as if you are rewarding the Elephants with music as they rise up into the tree's reaching fruits then into the last view is the red moon, your series should reach the caliber of Netflix sounds like you made good memories, worthy of someone with the dough to get you a portable solar panel and generator for all the future films you will make. Thank you for sharing your videos.
Mana is definitely as magical as described. The vegetation cluster, which seems unique to that spot, provides a glorious backdrop for the plentiful animal life. One hears of the *vast and mighty* Zambezi but until one actually see the scope of it's expanse, you truly can't grasp how awe inspiring (and treacherous) this river is! High5 on the pre-birthday gift ... what a brilliant idea! 📻📱💻📹[I *must* have power!!]
The tree climbing ellie, the moon light over the water but the yogurt oh my. Thanks James & Kirsten. One comment, it's hard to hear you at times.
Yes sorry about the sound we had all sorts of technical issues
Absolutely glorious and calming at the same time! Thank you!
Beautiful place!
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures! The filming is great and so beautiful!
Thank you James for this amazing video and the stunnig impressions! We love Mana Pools and the amazing campsites!
oh my GOSH that ellie - so special! Thanks guys, enjoyed this so much.
Absolutely loving this series Kirsten and James!
Amazing - James and Kirsten.
Wow, that ellie was incredible sighting and capture! Truly breathtaking area. Thank you!
Beautiful place 💚
AWESOME !! Simply the promised land.
8.40 or so could not have been better even if you had staged it.
Epic. 10 yrs ago at Old Mondoro (LZNP) we saw the Ele standing on its back legs. Phenomenal.
Love watching you two on your journeys. Thank you so much for show casing your adventures.
Oh, elegant ellies. tyty. HB James 🎂
That elephant is so cute! Thanks for capturing it on video, James!
Thank you James and Kirsten ❤
Loved it, bravo James!!
Beautiful. Even the yogurt. I would love to be their in person. Just not the part with the monkeys. Thanks James and Kirsten.
Thank you for visiting our beatiful country😊
i miss my country
This is amazing footage. Thank yo
James your background music was especially well chosen, relaxing. The elephant climbing the tree was breathtaking photography. Thank you for letting us see your world through your view point and images.
My wife is responsible for the stunning music choices
@@JamesHendry What was the music that accompanied the tree climbing elephant?
It’s the Hendrys. What more needs to be said!👏
Kirsten and James once again you have shared amazing footage, commentary and music. So enjoy the tremendous effort and heart you have both put into this and all of your productions. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and talent!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful Zambezi river
What a beautiful magical looking place, loved the climbing Ellie!..your trips wouldn't be the same without a disaster! Brilliant wildlife filming makes it all worth while..with love & blessings to you all xxx
One always needs a camping disaster
Happy Birthday, James! Another delight from you two! It seems vervet monkeys are a true disaster everywhere you go. While trying to think of some deterrent you might employ I first thought of maybe a recording of lions roaring you could play but quickly realized then you would need a deterrent for lions which no doubt would be arriving en masse at great speed after hearing it. Back to thinking....
mana pools. they are so nuts... interesting to see them in dry season.
Wow, a tree climbing elephant. What an incredible sight that was. You could wait a lifetime to capture a clip like that. I did a canoe safari on the Zambezi in 2009. That was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. We were advised to avoid getting closer than 1 metre to the waters edge and definitely not approach the same place twice.
Nice. When you are on the canoe what's the risk with Crocs lol
Love love it! The beauty, the troubles, even the everyday doings of checking out the restrooms. Just a perfect mix. Thanks again for letting us tag along with you. Always best regards, Gloria 🐂
Wonderful James and Kirsten. The music was perfect.
That elephant footage was beautiful.
Brilliant! I am old enough to remember a time when "luxury in the African bush" merely meant that the long-drop was not colonized by a swarm of bees or wasps. The cure for monkeys are a half-dozen rubber snakes from the local China shop. Simply scatter the snakes on the lids of food containers, tables and the roof of your vehicle though the monkeys do tend to lose control of the bowels when encountering a snake which then creates another problem… Don't neglect poking your rubber snakes with a stick in order to eliminate actual snakes before packing up camp and moving on.
What i would love seeing is a minutes of outtakes at the end of every video containing those remarks that inevitably ended up on the cutting floor.
stunning as always, but the music? when you haven't been back to the homeland for 20 years, to hear the sounds of the bush it all I want to hear.♥
Often the sound recorded isn't great...music is a better option in those cases
Ah Mana,a fabulous wild area and reserve and across the Great Zambezi,..Zambia and Lower Zambezi..been fortunate
to have visited and experience both environments and wildlife and elephants of course.
Long may these fine places be safe and protected

James and Kirsten, you are weavers--for you have woven together a magical mixture of stunning scenery, beautiful photography, just the right amount of humor (sarcastic and sweet) and emotion-evoking music. You make just about everything special and interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed it all--thanks!
Thank you Ann
Excellent stick assistance Kirsten
Great series on Mana Pools. Awesome videos of your adventure. James, would you mind sharing the brand of your portable convertor?
Absolute Heaven on earth.....beautifully filmed.
Great content. Lovely landscapes!
Truly Magical ❤️
I liked Okavango Delta walking safari best so far out of my nine African safaris.
So good, you're so fortunate to be able to visit these incredible places most of us only dream about. We're fortunate that you do and make these great travelogues for us.
im zimbabwea..this is so beautiful sadly may die without ever visiting this place
The Loos are really tops compared to when I was Last there in 1999 Aug
Thank you!!!!! So beautiful!!!!
12:22 is a ridiculously beatiful scenery.
Brilliant stuff James.
This season has been my favorite in terms of cinematography. Amazing shots.
Oh and happiest of birthdays 😉.
Thanks Matt, much appreciated
It just doesn’t get any better than that!
Nice guys!... I've spent a lot of time in Mana over the years & I sincerely hope you enjoyed your time in Zim despite the often terrible service from the parks employees!..this must have been filmed a few months ago as it's very much greener now!...The large collared elephant bull is called Boswell & he is a true Patriarch - in times of need he uses his amazing gymnastic skills to break down Albida branches for the smaller members of his herd!... hahahaha I love your accent 👍👍👍...keep up the great work!...much love & respect from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼
Another awesome episode, well apart from the yogurt incident :)
I can’t wait to go back to Mana. Beautiful area.
LOVED this EP
This is amazing 💐🤗
Excellent! I loved the music, too.
Thank you very much!
The music was superb as usual. Gave me goosebumps!
That is my good wife
always wanted to go to mana pools... looks amazing !!
Beautiful video and beautiful music! Loved the ellie and cheeky monkeys! What is the name of the orchestra song starting at 7:44?
HI JAMES+KIRSTEN
I ALWAYS ENJOY WATCHING THE VIDEOS ON YOUR CHANNEL A
LOT . I THINK U SHOULD MAKE
THE EPISODES MORE FREQUENT
CAUSE I ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD
TO THEM A LOT
Wed love to but it aint cheap to travel so we need save our pennies between trips
Another fantastic video. Mana is really unique. I must get back there. Also nice to see James speechless for a change on the bank of the Zambezi :). One thing - with all your car issues, it might be a good idea to make it clear that you are not in a Chobe 4x4 vehicle.
Thank you! Yes, good idea...
Completely entrancing!!!!!
Beautiful James!!!
I’m a relative of Thomas Baines and have several prints of his work. At 1:50, it looks an awful like one I have hanging in my hall, “The ‘Ma Roberts’ and an Elephant”. I had to go look up where it was painted and it says “Lower Zambezi”. Is that also the Mana Pools area?
Lower Zambezi normally refers to the Zambian side of the river, similar area
Kirsten providing that stick was priceless.
A daily occurrence
Beautiful moonrise.
It was one of the best
Thank you both xo
We were told (many moons ago) to not bring oranges since they attract elephants and they will raid your car for it! Has that changed? Great vid once again, absolutely loved it!
No change....no fruit allowed although no one checked
