Oh Mr. Hendry..... all my life I have dreamed of Africa - and for most of my life, it was as unreachable to me as the moon. Until 2019 when my lifelong dream came true, and I traveled half way around the world and stood on the Mara. At that moment, my long held belief seemed true....that Africa is where God goes when he/she wants to remember the world as it was - before man came along and messed it all up.... Seeing that elephant standing on its hind legs brought that all back to me, and brought me to tears. And for that, sir - I am eternally grateful - THANK YOU !
Humour, interpersonal snippets, animals sharing moments of their lives, glorious scenery complete with enveloping sounds of the bush all come together in 24 minutes that plays like a full length feature film. Honestly, a wonderful creation.
The final episode was excellent!! What an amazing team you both make! Thank you James and Kirsten for sharing this part of your life with us. It allows people like myself who are disabled and housebound to have an amazing African adventure. 🐘 Sending you love and wishing you happiness from Toronto, Canada.❤️ (and Boswell....you rock! 😁)
James and Kirstin, that was, for me, the most beautiful trip you have taken. Mana Pools is so special…I still can`t get over how ALL animals room the landscape together in harmony. When you ended with „return…to heal our human souls“, I teared up! Your photography and music made this into a special time to „escape“ from my everyday life into the beauty and peace of Africa - thank you!
happy belated birthday dear James Hendry! we love you! so glad we still get to see videos you share and make. keep making them! hope you enjoyed your birthday!
Congratulations Jamesie on becoming yet another year older and perhaps wiser like Daddy.. What a fantastic birthday present .Mana Pools in all its glory. I am sure that bi-pedal ellie used to perform at the Boswell Wilkie Circus. So pleased to see that you managed to keep a calm head whilst dealing to that damn irritating tyre. A lesser man would have resorted to obscenities and a lot of kicking. Ah but on one's birthday, one must maintain a calm demeanor at all times, even when semi- naked. Absolutely wonderful filming from both Kirsten and James. No doubt the birthday was celebrated with a bottle of apple juice costing an exorbitant amount of Zim Dollars.
Fabulous, rather entertaining indeed, reminds me of our Zambezi valley tour 1987 Happy to see it’s still a wonderfully enchanting wilderness. Lovely film sir and ma lady
That was spectacular! Beautiful filming, editing, music, I don't how you do it but these get better every time. That elephant encounter must have been so incredibly special. Seeing Boswell also wonderful. It's good to see and hear more from Kirsten also. Your closing comments were quite profound. Thank you as always for sharing with us, can't wait for the next series!
Wishing you a Happy and Blessed Birthday, James. Thank you for taking us with you on your trip and letting us meet Boswell as well. Enjoyed every min of every episode.
Your style is wonderful, this is the first time I've seen your vids. You remind me of the shorts prior to the main movie when I was a kid. The chap always spoke as measured and comically as you, so it was entertaing and beautiful. Cheers Rosemary Perth Western Australia (71 yrs)
James...is an actor playing a stereotype character. He's darn good at it. That takes WORK. As someone who worked hard for a Theater BA, I appreciate his efforts. The elephants and lioness are quite beautiful.
Good to see you thriving in '22 James! Many exciting wild life siting to you! And all those that you care for! Say hi to my people! Especially the chimps!
Good intro music. I wasn't sure what it was at first, then realised that you had done Happy Birthday to a different pace. I had a friend who played piano and did the same thing. One Sunday near Christmas he was playing "She'll be coming round the mountain" before a church service. Only a few people realised. The close up encounter with the elephant was amazing. Then he seemed to go to sleep. The scenery was awesome. I wish I could be there too. I must put this on my bucket list.
James, I have been truly enjoying your videos from the past year or two. You are honing your skills well. I enjoy your voice, thoughts, humor, and perseverance. A wonderfully unique gentleman. Congratulations on your marriage and child! Thank you for sharing your experiences!
Very much enjoyed the entire video. The bipedal ellie shots, the young bull and the spousal banter that I can only in vision may include more censored words on this platform were great also. Thank you.
Absolutely enjoyed the elephants. Wow, that was one gorgeous bull. The young guy with his crossed legs looking bored and curious at the same time. And, that cute baby elephant pretending like it knew what it was doing browsing with its family...
Thank you James and Kirsten. Always enjoy! The ellie on his hind legs was great and so was the footage. Your Birthday is also mine so I know it was in October 21' hehe
Bravo James and Kirsten ! Thanks for such a moving and beautifully filmed/edited finale. James’ humour combined with calm observations of a bull elephant at 20m left us gobsmacked! Where to next I wonder ?
Hi James, vast improvement on your video. Please share you equipment you use. Especially the tripod and the tripod head you fix to you window Many thanks
Happy belated birthday, James! I loved the footage of the elephant on his hind legs. Truly my favorite wild animals. A dream of mine is to visit Africa and witness all of its animals. If not to be, I have beautiful videos to watch like this one. Thank you! ❤️
All over Southern Africa sunsets are deemed the bees knees. Ony if u are on Lake Kariba on L Malawi etc. It is the sunrise my fellow bush seekers that is truely sepecactuler. As James so abley showed.
Spectacular footage of the Ellie’s….Happy Birthday James…sorry you had to work hard …changing the tire…but it appears y’all had an awesome trip…thanks for sharing it🤗🤗
I love the ending James, we will all do this, those who love animals and nature itself ... one day we will walk together in perfect harmony. Thank you so very much to you and Kirsten for sharing your travels. Where to next? Loads of love from this New Zealander 🇳🇿 ❤❤
The boiled peanuts didn't sound fantastic, tho typically I go for the roasted type ones, or if I'm feeling adventurous wasabi peas. Fantastic stuff though, that Ellie standing on it's back legs was magical. It was nice to hear James while it was doing it too, one wonders if thats what BBC camera operators (The beeb should get in touch for that kind of footage) are like when they get that kind of shot. Cheers once again for the vids they are so much fun.
I missed the notification again,I"m sure this will be a great video by You and your Team. Now leave me alone while i watch this episode of wild life in Zimbabwe.Be back in a few to give my thanks and opinion :)
sorry for no doggies on your bday, james! however, you DID get some delightfully amazing ellie-fant footage. looked to be a nice bday...well, except for having to change the tire 😕. thank you to you, kirsten, and the in-laws for sharing your adventure with us. hope to see y'all next time wherever the road carries you. 😁
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful adventures in Mana Pools. Spending time with Boswell on your birthday, Wow! So jealous!!!!! You’ve certainly captured the stunning beauty of Mana. I loved spending time at the river, a very special river in my life story. I would also like to say, thank you for making me totally ‘homesick’ for Zimbabwe and another trip to magical Mana. Precious memories in a pristine National Park. An amazing series, thank you. Best wishes and look forward more adventures with you both. Kind regards.
Great Birthday! From one enchanting moment with a powerful yet gentle giant to a display of your powerful pecs lifting that flat tire 😂. But really, that moment with the Ele made my heart swell. Glad it was a special day and thanks for sharing it with us.
Sorry I missed it, but I never got a notification. We watched the replay. My fav was the athletic elephant with ginormous tusk. That, and pretending to like the wife’s gift of stale peanuts. (One does that for the “boss”.) It must really add to a self-drive to be able to interpret tracks & other signs. BTW: My wife is also better than I am at spotting things in the bush.
Thanks James and Kirsten for another great peek into the wild life of the African Bush. Please lets us know how to find your next adventure. Thanks again and Happy Birthday..Ps..Stay safe and well..From the once great state of Texas i bid you a good night
Thank you for sharing,, a wonderful episodeon on a remarkable place!! Comment of the day: " Wouldn't it help if you closed the door!!" Side note, for next time ;), place the jack under the spring mount plate under the axle. More awkward to get to but that way you dont need to outlift the suspension;).
Had to pause the video for an important message..Happy Birthday James. For most of us spending our birthday in the African bush would be a dream come true..Ps..Don"t eat the Peanuts :) Back to the video :)
