James have you seen this video? The buffalo skeleton in the springs in both you and this video suggests they were taken around the same time ruclips.net/video/lnkR8aMamo8/видео.html
Appreciate seeing allllllllll these lovely animals including the various birdies who seem to allllllllll follow order for drinking. Missed the lions. Great filming!
Hello beautiful people James and Kirsten 🤩... thank you for sharing and bringing us along with you...so Amazing..I agree with plenty of happiness along the way xxxx
November, 2020. I spent two nights at Chitake before heading to the banks of the Zambezi. At Chitake, we watched a pride of lions gather around an elephant carcass. A glorious time in northern Zimbabwe.
Absolutely brilliant filming of the Beef - a - loes. Sadly the Lie- ons did not wish to make an appearance. Probably too well fed and having afternoon siestas. Lovely sunset under the Boabab tree. Perfect setting for a Amarula with eish !! A flat battery and a flat tyre can lead to a flat holiday. One must learn to overcome these minor obstacles.😀
Awesome footage of the Buffalo in the dust. Also your commentary on Barry, which brings back hilarious memories from your WE days. Well done as always.
Buffaloes, baobabs, birds and baboons plus lions and so much more. Spectacular photography, editing and music choices. And longer, too! It's a great start to the year. Thank you both for a wonderful episode. I can't wait for more. During that buffalo sequence I kept hoping the lions wouldn't take advantage of all that dust. I was glad they didn't! I hope you got water and fixed the tire in the next episode!
Stirring and timeless wildlife in that fine wild area .Superb photography of the time and place.Hope to return to Zimbabwe...if Zambia doesnt distract . Yes Baobab are so striking ..and sacred
Hi James and Kirsten. Happy New Year to you both and also a belated Merry Christmas. Thank you so very much for sharing your adventures with us. Greatly appreciated. From this Kiwi (New Zealander) 🇳🇿
Not only entertaining for the wildlife, but the comedy as well. Lol! I certainly wouldn't be lazing around on the river bank with all those prey species around (including the humans) and lions somewhere about.
Magnificent "beef" capture with all the dust kicking up almost oscuring the herd from view [nerve wracking moments with kitties potentially licking their lips!] And in spite of their bulk, quite a few noticeable ribs showing - perhaps Leo noticed and decided ribs were NOT on the menu?? Completely appreciate the crack-of-dawn efforts, exhausting but wow - amazing footage James. Now for a *double cold one*
Epic cinematography so far Mr. Hendry ! Who knew that such visual drama can be found in all that beef ? Adding Zim to our list, having enjoyed Botswana so much in Aug 2021. Hoping to head back to Africa in 2023. P.S. - the Mrs and I thoroughly enjoyed “Reggie and Me” on Audible 👍
I watched it yesterday then rewatched it with my mum later. Just brilliant photography. The buffaloes through the dust was magnificent!!! Loved Barry the Biker Baboon. Also mum kept cracking up with all the jokes. Looking forward to the next episodes!!! Thank you so much James and Kirsten!!
This place is truly a special place. I wouldn't advise anyone to visit as I want it to be left absolutely untouched & pristine, I'm selfish like that🙈...love your videos 🤣🤣🤣
Loving you films James. Not only informative but portrayed in a good lighthearted manner - very often these types of youtube films are "stilted". I am heading out to SA in the next couple of months to retire and really looking forward to travelling around Southern Africa and visiting some of the wonderful sights that you have shown on your films. Can I kindly ask what set up you are using for your videos? I like the look of your rig - and although heavy looking - looks pretty flexible. Keep the films coming please.
Oh wow...those buff's and that dust. The Zulu name for the Natal Mahogany is...Mkhuhla, I believe. Thanks, for the wonderful footage and humorous narration
Fantastic episode. The shots of the buffalo herd in the dust are beautiful. I've been to Mana quite a few times but never to Chitake. Do you need to walk to get the low angle shots of the spring or can you set up near the vehicle?
Any chance you can post in 4K? I see you are filming in it (I think), the videography is great, would love the extra resolution for my big TV! Thanks for the amazing series!
I have a question. It seems to me that the Buffalo, both male and female have longer, thinner horns then what I'm used to seeing. So, is this a sub species found in that part of Zimbabwe?
Hi guys sorry I missed the premier there I was called away from home... Great buffalo shots btw... I left a question in chat for you was wondering if you saw it or not... maybe it disappeared during live chat... Anyway will try again... When on a Safari shoot what focal length do you find yourself working with most of the time? or what focal lengths does your go to zoom operate within? Also lastly whats the longest focal length you would use on one of these trips? Sorry just I'm looking to go away on a trip soon and need to go fairly prepared any advice/help would be welcomed... many thanks Christopher from Aviemore
Hello...i missed this in the comments. I use a 200 to 600mm lens for 90 percent of the shots. Id say 600mm is a good length to have if you can for a safari. I had to change to a 24 - 70 for most of the wide stuff.
Hello all - I hope the year has started well...
Thanks James, lovely to see you again. Hope you both are well and planning lots of trips for us to watch! Great job!
Thanks, and to you. Great footage of the buffalo. I don't think I could nod off knowing lions are around :)
Missed you and our friends live chat. Pity. Would have done wonders for my self-pity mood today. Oh my so many Beefaloes!

Hello from Port Elizabeth ;)
Some awesome shots 👏 In fact it's so good I feel like I need a bath now to get the dusty dirt off 😊
Awesome James, I felt very thirsty after the dust show lol. Your wonderful humor and stories 💯 Thanks again, can't wait for more.

Stunning buffalo footage in the dust - not sure all of them in situations like this actually get to drink.
You are an amazing story teller
I watched it yesterday then rewatched it with my mum later. Just brilliant photography. The buffaloes through the dust was magnificent!!! Loved Barry the Biker Baboon. Also mum kept cracking up with all the jokes. Looking forward to the next episodes!!!

Always a fun and spirited ride in your imagination. Monty Python on safari!

This place is truly a special place. I wouldn't advise anyone to visit as I want it to be left absolutely untouched & pristine, I'm selfish like that🙈...love your videos 🤣🤣🤣

I hear you. Some places should stay secret
Wonderful footage. One day I hope to see what you have seen, and to drive in a 70 series Toyota Land Cruiser in Africa.

Nice work guys... Not sure that music is really necessary, but great footage!
My fav videos 😁
Oh wow...those buff's and that dust. The Zulu name for the Natal Mahogany is...Mkhuhla, I believe. Thanks, for the wonderful footage and humorous narration
Yes! Thank you!
Absolutly spactular!!
Thank you for the fantastic entertainment! I hope you'll get a lifetime supply of Zambezi Lager for this! ;-)
That would be excellent
Great video. Like your work and your singing.
Thank you so much!
@@JamesHendry You're welcome!
That buffalo sighting was stunning! Happy new year!
Same to you!
This is great, the Buffalo coming in their thousands!
The buffalo scenes are amazing - were you on foot in the river bed? Whn we were there it was strictly no cars in the riverbed?
Amazing footage!
Nice colour grading of the buffs coming down
Love the videos of your adventures.
Watching those buffaloes stampeding down, it’s very clear now that Mufasa never stood a chance… sigh
Your best in photography, welcome Tanzania bwana
9:25 "...mother looking into the distance...as if she might have made some sort of error..." 😅😅😅
Love your production- what is the music in your Chitake Springs episode (first one with Lovebirds)
Amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic episode. The shots of the buffalo herd in the dust are beautiful. I've been to Mana quite a few times but never to Chitake. Do you need to walk to get the low angle shots of the spring or can you set up near the vehicle?
Thanks Rob! You would love Chitake. You can sit by your vehicle on top of the bank but we just found going lower down was the best for filming.
@@JamesHendry yeah, most of the videos I've seen from Chitake are from the top of the bank which is not a great angle.
Informative 👏🏿👏🏿
Any chance you can post in 4K? I see you are filming in it (I think), the videography is great, would love the extra resolution for my big TV! Thanks for the amazing series!
Working on it!
@@JamesHendry thanks James, noticed it in the most recent!
I have a question. It seems to me that the Buffalo, both male and female have longer, thinner horns then what I'm used to seeing. So, is this a sub species found in that part of Zimbabwe?
Hi there, no same species as elsewhere. There does seem to be regional variation in the horna though
Superb ♥
Nice video James. Can you share the name of the sound you used in the video
What is that song playing during the buffalos at the beginning? It was beautiful and a great choice for the amazing footage
Buffalo must breed frequently to keep up such huge populations.
