speaking as someone who owns a 4.7 liter pc although with ryzen 5 5600x and rtx3060. please consider the temps and the hard labor of changing parts in it. I recently upgraded from a gtx 1070 to rtx 3060, i had to disassemble 60% of the pc just to reach the riser cabe in order to chance it out for a pcie 4.0 and then disassemble some more just to fit the graphics card.

@@anso3886 to be fair the tdp of the 40 series GPUs is lower for most skews as compared to the 30 series. The rtx 4070 has the same tdp as the rtx 3060ti. And there was a single fan version of the 3060ti, so actually, no, not all new GPUs are running hotter.

@@mateuszkask6286Yep, the newer generation is actually more efficient. It just so happens that NVIDIA and even AMD just push the hardware further to gain more performance that it runs hotter.
My RTX 4070 Ti is already way better than 3080 Ti while consuming less power. The main issue really is the bad cost. Just overpriced for more than its worth.

@@anso3886 We're actually approaching the point where the "more powerful" GPU's are only liek 10% faster than the mide-range GPU's, so... The only way to go from here, is to shrink the tech, make it smaller...
Who knows, maybe shrinking the tech will allow manufacturers to fuse graphics cards together like a sandwich so they can sell them as native-SLI single-unit cards, effectively doubling graphical performance.
Basically, the only way to improve computer hardware from here, is to upgrade from 2 dimensional design, to 3-dimensional design... No more graphics cards, how about graphics cubes? xD

Unfortunately this is weaker than the same thing with a 3060Ti from 2 years ago and not that much faster than the same thing with a 2070 from 4 years ago. Maybe even slower than a 12GB 3060.
And even with a 4060Ti, it would be almost the same as the 3060Ti
Single fan 4070 where? (It's ~200W just like the 3060Ti/2070/1080 single fan GPUs)

    • @andygevedon6185
      @andygevedon6185 8 месяцев назад

@@yeshwantkethineni3694 The one thing you're overlooking is the efficiency of the 4060. I built this same pc with a 12600KF (undervolted and power limited) and the GPU is powerful enough without having overly obnoxious fan noise. Of course you could go with a 3060ti, but the difference is relatively small and the cost of the 4060 is roughly $100 cheaper than the 3060ti. If you're looking to drive a 1080p or even a 1440p monitor, this will be able to handle it without a sweat. Looking for high-refresh 4K gaming? You should probably be looking at something bigger with more thermal headroom.

It gets scratched too easy and it's impossible to do proper maintainence on the case/components due to it's extremely poor assembly... I although it was a great introduction to the SFF-community, I feel like Velka 3 misses a lot of the user-friendly marks as I think cases should much prioritize when they're this small ❤

The Zotac 4060 Solo runs an aggressive stock fan profile. However, you can use MSI Afterburner to create a custom fan curve. I set mine to 30% up to 60C and at 50% to 80C. I overclocked the card by +150 core and +200 memory, and the card sits around 75C while in a Densium 4 case which is similar to the Velka 3.

Very cool build. It’s nice that it fits a dual slot GPU. I’ve done a 3.8 Liter Build with the „old“ case from Goodysory. But there’s only a OneSlot GPU (6400) possible to fit in - above the CPU…
Also the Fan was too noisy, so I mounted a 80mm BeQuiet on a sidepanel , removed the stock GPU fan and connected the 80mm fan directly to the GPU motherboard.
But you build it’s just cleaner and the smallest ever! 🎉

Just one tip if I may (maybe because of the editing it looks like you didn't, but you prob did) -
4:11 - "4 provided screws..." you always want to adjust each screw in a cross like fashion. You screw one corner and go to the adjacent corner, never screw the ones that are right next to the screw you just adjusted. This helps the cooling plate of the fan sit evenly with your CPU.

Wonder if the gpu could be deshrouded and a different fan used.
Great work! Reminds me of the early optimum tech videos.

wow this is great, I wish I could send this back in time to myself - used to travel a lot for work, staying in hotels five nights a week. Pack in a hdmi-to-anything adapter for the hotel televisions and this would have been the greatest of times instead of the most boring ones, damn! :D

The metalfish z39 is a cpu cooler that performs very similarly to the noctua L9A/i BUT the fan is indeed the heatsink which reduces fan turbulence considerably and makes for a quieter cooler
