I have the Minelab Vanquish 440 and I think it's great. I've found a ton of coins and 2 gold rings within a month! Love your channel and watch it all the time! I love metal detecting! Go Minelab go!

Nice mail call gift, I had the Minelab Go Find 60 back when these first came out. It's a great detector to keep in the vehicle and not a high dollar machine for quick hunts in tote lots if out and about.
I agree... I do like how it folds up...
I used a Simplex for a year and last August I upgraded to a Minelab Nox 600 and it has proved itself to me as the best machine in the world over and over

I absolutely adore the crocheted Gary and the cupcake. You should see if she wants to make Gary's for you to see in your merch. The detector reminds me of the Nokta Makro Mini and Midi Hoards that I bought my grandkids...which already have tons of great reviews but they're in your price range and absolutely NOT a waste of money.

The Minelab 66 review shows me what would happen to me using a new detector. I would not have read the instructions.
Young George 7 years old would love this detector. He likes digging the local beach with his plastic spade but loses interest in deep holes. Bless him.

What a great and honest review you guys! I've only been detecting for a year, part time, and use the Minelab Vanquish 540, but this one would be a fun gift for my daughter (9yrs). All my kids (5) love watching your videos with me!
I haven't used that yet, but many used people said they were happy. The only issue with the GO-FIND series is the sliding shaft because that is made with weak plastic, and after working for a while, it will wear, loosen, or even get separated. They even didn't fix that in Go Find 66. The gift box was really cool! especially Gary💖💖 , blankets, cupcakes💖💖, and backpacks!!
I agree about the plastic… seamed like a weak link in this detector. Joyce was awesome and our gifts were so cool.

Hello from Sunny Salt Spring Island. I found this really interesting. Even though the GO FIND 66 didn't come out on top, it would still be great for a begginer because they will learn the fundamentals of detecting and for sure find SOMETHING! The affordability will be a bonus too. I have a second hand Garrett Ace 400i that has propelled me into metal detecting. I couldn't be happier about all the amazing aspects of it. The finds, the people I meet, the things I have found for others, the constant thrill of "you never know" what you'll uncover, the fun detective work figuring out where the best spots are, all the beautiful landscapes of beaches-parks-golf courses (YES, golf course benches at the tees are great! tee hee!) and I can touch my toes easily now.Thanks again for all I have learned from you both and for being such a fun pair.
Minelab--------I would have love to see what would have happened if you went over the same park with the vanquish after the 66 and then Bills Minelab after that. That new Gary Mascot is too cool.
Yeah, that would have been good.... originally we were just gonna try it out and then I decided last minute on park number 2 to pull out the NOX. I can't say for sure if Christine just did not go over the spot where I found the quarter/dollar coin spill. I would think the 66 would have found it!!!

I had the 44 it's not bad as a beginner's or a kids detector the app make's it easier to identify targets. great for taking on holiday

I think I'm finally caught up binge watching you guys (Christine and Bill). So much treasure to be found. When I was younger my mom would take us to the river banks to metal detect. We always found hooks, weights and occasionally found knives as well as other good associated with fishing, My brother, sister and myself loved it. I so find it enjoyable watching you two. "Minelab

Great video you too. I also am a MineLab Nox 800 owner and fan. I have all three MineLab coil sizes and use them in areas where they each excel in their own ways. I have several friends that want to learn metal detecting, so having a second Minelab detector would allow me to teach some of the basics to them. Thank you for putting out the great content. Joyce did great with those gifts! I have just recently started metal detecting, I have a cheap no name dectector that I got through the lottery website. All it does is make noise, it doesn't have a display of any kind. I would love to win the Minelab just to get more experience.

I’d still like the Minelab 66 for my wife. She Houes with be but gets frustrated with the buttons. She’s also short so the way it was extended the first would be perfect for her.

Very good.... Many people hunt by sound only but the numbers really help learn the targets...
It’s seem like the Minelab Go Find 66 would be a great beginner detector for a young person/child to start out with, it will teach him the basic in metal detecting as we have all be there digging everything, until we learn the machine. I say the 66 is a stepping stone for a young child just starting out in the hobby of detecting.
We agree Randy.... not a bad starter detector for someone new to the hobby. I think the Vanquish 340 is another great option... I believe they are priced about the same.

I have a Mine Lab Xterra 705. My wife is interested in getting started. I was hoping the Go Find would be a good starter for her but I’m leaning toward getting myself an Equinox and giving her my Xterra. Thank y’all for the review.

I think your assessment of the Go Find 66 is pretty spot on. I have been using a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 202 ($250 new) that I got used for about $75 at one of those auction sites and it has done me well for my first year+, but I am itching to upgrade ($ is holding me back...). I keep wondering what I am missing or passing up on that something better would pick up or at least identify better.
FYI the BH has a gauge that roughly id's target possibilities, but is still kind of nebulous. I mostly dig based on the tone sound of the target (the machine has 3 tones). Also the coil is waterproof, but the machine housing is not, so not a foul-weather hunter.

Hum... I agree about missing things... you never know what a detector did not hit on... most people only detect by sound... I kinda do but like to talk about the numbers because it helps people understand the machines. I ran into a guy the other day with a Fisher he got for $50 at a garage sale and was doing really will.... Joyce really set the bar on this set of gifts... hand made is so precious....
Thanks for a good review of the Minelab. Since you asked I wouldn't mind seeing you guys test my detector it's the Ricomax GC-1023. It's a lot like the Bounty Hunter Tracker 4. The only thing pushed me to get the Ricomax over the Bounty Hunter is it's two tone discrimination doesn't automatically discriminate iron. It's worked well for me I bought it off Amazon for $89 after a lot of reviewing spec's and videos. Also bought the Ricomax pinpointer after your review of the GC-1028 or 1026. Thank you both for what you do. I like your beach videos best for the scenery but park detecting is great too.
Some day, when I'm in the chips I might get a Minelab but for now I'll keep using my harbor freight special. It's been pretty good to me for quite a few years.
